Using the principle of a fire extinguisher, you pour a chemical that reacts with fire to produce CO2 which quenches it. And no where did I mention taking oxygen from that explosion.

And example of how oxygen is needed for combustion: light a match stick and while it's still burning, quickly put it in your mouth and shut your mouth. The fire quenches immediately.

To fire, oxygen is an oxidizer. Take away oxygen from fire and the fire starves to death. If you detonate that in space without oxygen, i'm afraid that it won't explode/combust. Really, the radius of the blast is affected by the oxygen intake of the fire.

in fires, the core is the hotest part. This is so because fire absorbs oxygen to itself (its core) and expands out. The more fuel that oxygen combust/burns, the more heat in the core, the more its radius expands. That's why nothing can survive within the core of a nuclear blast.

Let's assume we provide oxygen for combustion while in space.
First, hope you know there's no gravity in space? In the earth, gravity and nitrogen gases make oxygen stay down on earth and that's why if you go higher skywards, oxygen reduces and it becomes difficult to breathe.

When the bomb is detonated, the blast will take an undefined shape but before that... first you'll see a spherical shape with a red (literally) core covered by a blue flame (more like the one from your gas cylinder). The blue flame signifies complete combustion without impurities. Now remember that on earth, oxygen is held down by gravity. In space no gravity, there's an undefined shape to which oxygen will take and whatever it takes, that is what the fire will take.

Now because there's no gravity pulling the oxygen to the fire's core, fires in space aren't as hot as it is here and they also burns slowly.

Lol. It's called a planetary body and no, that blast cannot disinterate a planet. E no reach. Yes, maybe the blast will give little kinetic energy to meteorites, debris but it can't propel them here. Mars has an atmosphere just like earth, so the blast won't exceed that astmosphere. Just the way the blast didn't split/ripped earth and didn't affect meteorites or debris, that's what will happen outside.

The only problem I see is that there's no oxygen in mars or in space (except a distant planetery body) that would aid combustion. Also, in space, the radius of the blast cannot be measured.

Is it not better that these nuclear weapons are tested out of space? Seeing that the radiation incured will last for years here. Out there, radiation is a constant factor, so it's no big deal.
