All I know is as an educated Nigerian earning a million naira here can live better than one living earning $5000 in the USA. You can own a house in 2 years , it's impossible for one living in the USA to do so. When we compare our Naira to USD we might be poor . Now compare to my sister in law who works as a teacher in texas and earns 60k just in her first yr.
