Slynation:
Imagine going on lockdown for HIV aids, I guess we would have been on lockdown for years now because testing will soon be going on... Government should open everywhere and let all keep observing protocols... after all...! ! People are recovering automatically... But since the virus came for the elders, they are still living in fears
Covid is an STI? undecided

We'll soon report a thousand cases in one day, at the rate we're going
If we ever test up 10k daily.

You meant to tell me that all these numbers of deaths that are being recorded on daily basis are wealthy people? All these new cases are wealthy people? And lastly, don't you want to be wealthy too?

God2man2again:
These Governors have more ways of avoiding the virus yet they contracted it.
Official car, special food, clean water, wearing mask and washing of hands and so on. Somebody should explain to me how they contracted the virus.

I don't understand.

It seems well staged to me.
A few days ago the governor's daughter tested positive undecided.
EducationRe: Lagos To Give 10,000 Radio Sets To Pupils For Homeschooling by SirWarlock: 12:26pm On Jul 01, 2020
Stillthebest:
Even if the govt provides all these, thinking about the attitudinal approach of Nigerians to things, the lackadaisical thinking of many untrained, unworthy teachers, the children or the illiterates and even the literates who don't think covid-19 exists, the mushroom schools, the 'legbemole' classrooms and undisciplined stereotypical nature of people like Mrs Kosijo in my street who's a teacher but thinks Corona doesn't exist, would u allow your child to resume school in Lagos?
Thank you cheesy. Let's start with the fact that both students and teachers don't believe in covid first grin or think it's not a serious matter grin. I mean some organizations don't even bother with sanitizing people again, talk more of schools sad.
EducationRe: Lagos To Give 10,000 Radio Sets To Pupils For Homeschooling by SirWarlock: 12:23pm On Jul 01, 2020
bolseas:
Instead of radios, why not provide the necessary facilities in the school premises to enable pupils resume. Hand sanitisers, liquid soap, water tanks, fumigate the school premises, purchase face masks for both pupils and teachers etc...

I wonder how these politicians reason.
it's not that simple. It's not news that things just don't work in Nigeria.
EducationRe: Reopening Of Schools: NUT, NMA Kick by SirWarlock: 11:02am On Jul 01, 2020
ayo2008:
Funny country!
Ordering Schools to resume without holistically looking at the safety guidelines. As we speak, we have public schools in this country without running pipe borne water / bore hole water, so handwashing mechanism is not feasible in such a school.
Why put the life of student/pupil in danger?
And I bet you establishing those things is going to be another story sad.

HealthRe: Is COVID-19 A Disease For The Nigerian Rich Alone? by SirWarlock: 10:13am On Jul 01, 2020
Why is makinde's picture here huh. So you mean the 500+ fatalities are mostly rich people?. No wonder this thing won't go away anytime soon sad.
EducationRe: Reopening Of Schools: NUT, NMA Kick by SirWarlock: 10:09am On Jul 01, 2020
Jaemes:
Since we have asymptomatic patients or carriers , and their plan is to resume school. Then , the government should setup testing teams in schools and quarantine patients , so they can be assured those that are learning are safe and free from the virus. It's easier that way , instead of just opening at once and putting everyone at risk.
This Government has no concrete plan for anything concerning this epidemic. Including state governments also, cos till now some states don't even have their own labs sad.
EducationRe: Reopening Of Schools: NUT, NMA Kick by SirWarlock: 10:07am On Jul 01, 2020
Angrymode:
I believe if FG wants to resume schools for graduating classes, all the teachers and students involved must first be tested to ascertain their status. A time frame should then be given for those infected be quarantined and treated for them to be able to resume in time with the others.

Anything short of this is a senseless move

I know everyone's opinion counts but those criticizing the NMA and NUT on this their stand not to reopen schools, is either still joking with this virus or is senseless like this current FG.
This would actually be a good step for whatever safe reopening they're cooking up undecided but they can't do it cos of economic reasons. And testing is kind of tricky, you might test -ve today then end up contracting the virus the next day.
EducationRe: Reopening Of Schools: NUT, NMA Kick by SirWarlock: 10:00am On Jul 01, 2020
themanderon:
In Israel where the government did same there was a sudden outbreak and the same government had to quickly shutdown the schools. Some countries that had cleared their covid cases are suddenly having a resurgence of cases.
Knowing how incompetent our government can be will they be able to handle an outbreakhuh Beautiful thing is that Covid 19 knows no politician or citizens, no rich or poor so exposing those teachers and kids will be exposing the whole society to the virus.
No they can't. It's the big issue here. Unless they plan on testing everybody involved before resumption which can't happen sad.
EducationRe: Reopening Of Schools: NUT, NMA Kick by SirWarlock: 9:32am On Jul 01, 2020

it's not the whole school resuming ooo just primary 6 jss3 and sss3

I believe uni students are more self conscious regarding the virus than primary and secondary students. So, he is correct.

@Seun, I love that rolling Glo advert on the front page, it's catchy and beautiful.

However, hope you charged them very well for it o, make you help us collect the fake data they give, wey person no fit use till it expires due to their bad network.

Are U now justifying the fact that the government is using those kids as a trial instead of the much matured uni students?
I'm not, read my comment again.
HealthRe: Ekiti To Reopen Schools, Churches & Mosques As Governor Fayemi Gives Conditions by SirWarlock: 8:26am On Jul 01, 2020
FlordFlorez:
But why is primary & secondary schools being reopened instead of higher institutions. The latter can cope with precautionary measures better than the former. Is it that our governments are so insensitive?
The way the age bracket of uni students have coped with it? Let's not kid ourselves. Give one practical precautionary measure that can be adapted while still considering the average university.

South Africa! 128 deaths? Where did you get it wrong?
probably when we got tired of hearing stay at home grin. In all seriousness I think if you couldn't track of infections at the earliest time of this pandemic then there's no stopping it. Most of Australasia come to mind. From what I see it seems like Nigeria, people don't care about it again, acting like it's disappeared grin. My only question is why their authorities feel unbothered huh and want to open up more. Maybe they were well prepared for this stage undecided, or maybe these are signs they're close to their peak undecided.
HealthRe: COVID-19 Drug, Remdesivir, Fixed At $2,340 (about N959,400) Per Course by SirWarlock: 11:40am On Jun 30, 2020
knowhowk:
Remdesivir is a class of antiviral drugs that work by posing as legitimate chemical building blocks of a DNA or RNA sequence.Chloroquin too works by Inhibiting the Replication of the Virus Copies .My question now is why so much Mentioning and awareness about Remdesivir which cost so much and less Mentioning and awareness on Chloroquine .Hope Sentimental defense would not come up spewing the thrash that Chloroquine has bad side effects and Remdesivir has None . Conspiracy and Business with Human Lives everywhere .
I thought chloroquine worked by raising the body's pH? Anyway whatever works for your people. If it's useless in US so be it. I don't think they'd have this much fatalities if the drug was truly potent.

I think it's high time this pandemic should have eneded. Rather if it doesn't want to go we can adapt and live with it maybe until the cure will be discovered and put in use.
I'm just tired. I haven't achieved anything since the begining of 2020! God help us.
We all are cheesy.
EducationRe: Oyo Re-opens Schools On Monday; Parents, Teachers In Dilemma by SirWarlock: 7:19pm On Jun 29, 2020

agreed. But while the federal government is looking irresponsible, shld the states also follow suit. Proactive measures has to start from somewhere, by someone. Politics is business as usual, ordinary social distancy is nt even observed in al ds political gathering and heaven didnt fall. I support the test run resumption and i give it two weeks and you wil see other states fllw suit.
Well like you said we must start from somewhere. If they can actually restart safely and successful at that then they deserve all the lauds. Just that I don't see how they can go about it, especially without a hitch somewhere.

Please I'm as tired as the next person concerning this present situation undecided and I just want to know how we're going to manage ourselves out of it.
