Saintinoo: A vaccine come out in a year? Vaccines for an unknown virus, let stop deceiving ourselves, if they discover a vaccine this year or early next year then this virus could be made up.
I remember Boris Johnson reminding the world to take their minds of any vaccine, from what i have seen, the virus might just mutate and die away for now, but a vaccine might take more than 2 if nt 3 years. I said probably. I know it's possible the vaccine may never come at all. But considering the global race for this particular one, there's a chance it does come around albeit not this year or next. So all in all, we should stay alert. |

Forgness: The truth is bitter, Lagos needs to be totally lockdown again. As I am posting, I am not happy myself cos it is affecting me. We need to face the reality fast before this thing gets out of hand. The grace we have is that it is not a deadly virus like Ebola. With the guidelines given and not with a total lockdown, we can beat it; unfortunately, the numbers of goats in Nigeria are far too many than humans. The goats in Lagos are super stubborn. Trust me, it may take the army to parade the streets of Lagos to mercilessly beat these goats inside their homes like how the Italians did. And you can read comments from the goats on front page Covid-19 news..
Please, join me in the prayer that Covid-19 should visit the households of all those who looted our fund. We pray it locates them from Aso Rock to national assembly, down to state assemblies, to all individuals who participated in looting our fund. It should not spear the wicked ones that looted the special donated fund for Covid-19 also. That's all.
Lagosians, be ready for round 2 lockdown. Let us face it and save ourselves. Should we consider a lockdown? Well maybe in some parts. Will it work though? No . Like the commissioner said Lagosians should brace for 2 more months . If one gets the virus then it's your time. Notice what's happening with highly populated countries? |

Politics › Re: Guidelines For Marriage, Burial Ceremonies In Rivers State by SirWarlock: 10:47am On Jun 26, 2020 |
govomotors: This will be a hard nut to crack, here are my reasons.
People attend wedding and burial ceremony in Nigeria, majority are not invited. As a result of hunger, several people move from street to street looking for where there are burial or wedding reception.
Secondly, it will be impossible to submit names of those invited. Example: if you invite 50 person most likely 15 will attend plus additional friends that will accompany them to the occasion.
You will also notice that 50 uninvited guest will attend the occasion just for a plate of rice and one or two bottles.
The government suspend burial and marriage/wedding now. Government cutting corners and end up looking stupid while at it. That's how another governor allows free movement Monday to Friday and the curfew weekends |

Confirmedzombie: During the periods of lockdown, the cases weren't this high.
Only a further enforcement of two months lockdown will curb the spread.
I will never give up calling for total lockdown of two months until the FG implements it.
We dont need to depend on the govt to stock our home.
Citizens of other countries where such was implemented never got any pallative from there govt.
Nigeria cant be an exception. Nah. Lockdown when there's no strategy won't work. Lockdown won't work, it didn't work before and definitely not now . Nigeria is obviously not ready to tackle this thing so we just have to accept that . I mean they told us they've identified the high risks LGs accounting for 60% of our cases and what has been done about that . How many people are even presenting for tests so that we get this over with and move on . I laugh because of how I see people acting like there's nothing . Hopefully the assertion that we're too strong for covid is true else i don't know . The sooner we start getting prepared to get left behind on covid the better. Look at how countries are planning on banning US travellers |

The FG should apply same. Instruct all citizens to stock their homes fully them enforce a ruthless Two months lockdown.
I will keep advocating for a two months total lockdown until govt implements it.
Nigerians must learn to bear pains in order to defeat this virus.
I may have no other choice than to mobilize our Nigerian youths to go out and protest for a total lockdown. . There's nothing stopping the spread. So either you stay safe or become an unlucky statistic |

Investnow2017: SirWarLock, TMKsouth, What is driving SA figures, just in case you might have an idea? The infection figures and those of fatality are not looking good. You notice also that SA records it's highest daily tally today - 5,688/103 - just as Africa registers its highest figure in one day 11,000+ A bit of profiling the angle affecting the spike will be appreciated. Does the black community account for the surge? Even more concerning is the mortality rate compared to other African nations. Will appreciate if you can share your findings please. Regards. I think TMKsouth should be the proper person to say for sure. I don't know how daily life in SA is but this pandemic has made rethink the popular saying 'it's a small world'. From what I can infer, if you can't effectively test and trace massively and effectively at the beginning, you're going to have problems at the end. If I recall India had this problem at the beginning. At to fact that peculiarities of people give room for the virus to spread eg markets, transport, busy towns and cities(worse for African countries). Also maybe down the line they could investigate to see when the virus actually arrived there, maybe asymptomatic spread was under way before any form of lockdown. Like I've said before, as long as we don't know what the virus is doing when it's not jumping from person to person or how long it takes for someone to be contagious after contracting, we'll keep going in circles. |
