Nigeria and NCDC should stop lying to the masses .. cases in other countries are decreasing while Nigeria is increasing, from no where 73 cases in this states 30 in there just to keep the helpless masses down while they keep enjoying the billions if not trillion... Corona virus is over hyped in Nigeria. USA protested thousands of protest still the case is decreasing why is Nigeria different? You are lying. Decreasing where? China? South Korea? . You also want us to pass through what US went through? BTW look at their stats, states are experiencing spikes again |

paulolee: bad...jus too bad...so much deaths this days that people are no longer concerned abt covid.. in other news its a very boring Thursday because i decided to stay at home today n realized dt my dstv sub av expired leaving me with jus NTA, decide to manage it and was watching the presidential task force on covid 19 briefing thats airing live maybr from abuja...love the way instructions and updates are been released especially the questions being asked by newsmen to the ptf agents and all questions were adequately treated, i just wished our president do give such kinda briefing with open spaces for media to ask questions and not jus dt edited speech he do read to us whenever is he on air...is that too much to ask? Questions like what if I may ask? Cos I don't really see the point of their briefings any longer if we don't get substantial facts and breakdown of where we are concerning covid. Even state governments aren't saying anything, just announcing reopening up and down |

quisera: The major problem we have ain't even the schools but the commercial banks. Badonasty: In my own opinion I think schools should be open..,even markets wey no get structure are open not to talk of schools where the guidelines can be enforced...corona is here to stay we just have to live with it...even China is having a resurgence of cases so schools will have to open whether they like it or not they shut down schools in Beijing again. And if we were serious markets that are high risk in terms of gatherings ought to be shut too but that's another thing. |

TheFuturist: Schools should remain closed. We're not ready, yet.
How many people are obeying the guidelines placed after the lock down was eased?
Nose masks? How many people still wear them?
Social distancing? How many people practice that? Just go to the market.
...and some of you are saying schools should be opened for children?
No! We're not ready. Thank you. It is what it is. At this point chances of contracting the virus are higher than ever and people think it's merely a touch your nose and mouth virus . If it were, we might have had some form of management by now. Schools will only make matters worse in the virus reaching a certain population. I like your moniker btw |

It seems more mortalities outside treatment centres are happening |
Health › Re: 587 New COVID-19 Cases, 344 Discharged And 14 Deaths On June 17 - (2207 Tested) by SirWarlock: 10:25am On Jun 18, 2020 |
Babatunde7109: [Total Confirmed Cases (TCC); Total Recovered Cases (TRC); Total Death Cases (TDC); and, Total Active Cases (TAC)]
TCC = 17,735 | TRC = 5,967 | TDC = 469
To get TAC;
TCC - TRC + TDC
= 17,735 - (5,967 + 469) = 17,735 - 6,436
TAC = 11,299
It's almost 4 months now, and our TAC is 11,299. Wow! That's mind-blowing.
From the time we had the first case in Nigeria, every single individual who believes in the existence of the virus, speculated on how the virus would spontaneously overwhelm Nigeria in few months to come. Now, the month of June, 2020, is moving towards an end and our TAC is currently pegged at 11,299. To some extent, with our undernourished healthcare systems, we have done really well. Considering the U.S. situation - where they have the best of the best healthcare systems but are still overwhelmed, soaked by the virus, we can really credit the situation here - in Nigeria.
With this feat, if the Nigerian government reconsiders another lockdown, then I can boldly say we have a clueless, selfish govt. (I have already been saying that lately though). I wonder, and ponder, on how long an irresponsible and irresponsive Nigerian government could keep its hungry, angry subjects on lockdown. Definitely not for long, because they don't have the empathy and generosity to fill the gabs - meeting the needs of their subjects to a bearable extent. When this can't be put in place by the govt, the subjects won't take 'lockdown' as a place - perhaps, a place of assured safety.
[Our income isn't what we really earn, but what we have after deducting spendings from what we earn. That's what defines what we really are.]
The govt can't continue to react on the spike in new cases alone, without giving due consideration to the number of recovered cases, and death. COVID-19 isn't a death sentence, and I don't think it should be treated as such. Reconsidering another lockdown in the country is a typical fact of making the virus seem like a death sentence. Lockdown is really not a solution, but a problem to complement another problem. Lockdown is never a solution, the plan to move on (with the virus) is.
In a fierce war, if you hide and still get killed, what's your gain? I get it. Economy, livelihoods, frustration. But we still have to deal with the virus. And Nigeria for now, it has shown no sign of slowing down cos we have all the necessary ingredients for it. And at this point another lockdown would seem kind of futile. |

timothy2396: Covid-19 is real but the Nigerian figures are totally false.... But wait oo, how them the take test thousands in a day? Do you know anybody that knows anybody that knows anybody that has gone for Covid-19 test? An average Nigerian can't wake up and leave his house that he's going for Covid-19 test, who does that? And now we have average Nigerians dying before they're confirmed positive, exactly the consequence of that. Your first photo has been shut to be fake. Your second? Show me where in the world where schools have reopened successfully in the face of rising cases . |

Millions have lost their jobs in India, some reportedly collapsed and died in their overcrowded train after their weeks of strict lockdown, so the harvest Covid-19 is now reaping is no surprise. Sad really - 2,006 deaths in one day! Now they are forced to relax the lockdown to save their economy. Yeah tough situation they're in now. They're reimposing restrictions in some places again. Jahwinaboy: My point is the lukewarm approach used by the federal government in taking measures to contain this virus. If the govt have insisted and enforced no interstate ban fully, if they had acted wisely by providing palliatives to woo the people to stay home for 2months plus while there up testing, if they used the 'iron fist' like Wike was trying to use(aside hotel demolition) , do u think Corona cases will be on the rise? New Zealand and alot of Corona free countries used all necessary approaches to become Corona free today. Did federal do anything for the citizenry to address these issues? No. You said it. Lukewarm approach is exactly what government is exhibiting. I can't believe they had to submit a recommendation to the president so they could announce religious centres can open as if they have total control and contingencies to handle the spreading virus |

Investnow2017: SirWarlock, Did you notice that the world recorded it's HIGHEST daily tally of new Coronavirus cases yesterday; a whopping 142,000+ with India alone registering over 2000+ deaths in 24hours, followed by Brazil with over 37,000+ new cases in one day plus 1,338 deaths. It may have eased somewhat in Europe but the Americas are reaping deadly harvests too. And Africa records are not looking good too. There is a spike in death rates and spread of infection. The raining season in Africa at this time! We all need to take personal responsibility. The figures in India and Brazil were at a time low, but not so now And for India I don't know if it's just testing or like here lockdown wasn't strict or they let their guard down and it was spreading silently or it's a combination of all things. |
