its either you set the boundaries here or they will continue and never stop lynching on you. it might be hard for you at first however, you have to realize that if you continue playing along with their request, it will more harder for you to stop and they will continue playing on your emotions. yes, they are your siblings but they are old enough to be responsible for their own well being. you now have a family of your own, who probably needs your attention most. if you definitely continue like this, it will most likely put a string on your marriage because your wife will definitely must have had enough of them. |
Best: marriage doesnt come with a manual and nothing prepares or will never prepare you for the journey ahead. you discover and rediscover your own rules/boundaries base on what works best for you. |

Fun way/idea to get your little ones to eat their vegetables. we all know kids and vegetables cant be in the same sentence. its always a big fight for me to get my little one here to swallow hers. so i came up with this idea ![]() one day we were traveling and passing through all this roads, i suddenly ask her did you see that big thing there right now!? i acted as if it was this huge giant "thing", with my big eye surprise and bewilderment, she told me say no, you didnt! i asked her? still acting surprise, she anxiously and curiously asked me what was it etc, i described this "thing" to her and she became even more curious. finally i told, do you know why you didnt see it? she no. i said to her because you dont eat your vegetables!. its only those who eat their veggies everyday that gets to see those kinds of things!. she was amazed and angry that she didnt see this "thing" 'cause of her stubbornness. when we got home, she wanted her veggies and since that day till now, it has been less of a fight and more fun to get her to eat those veggies. ![]() |
we have come a long way but still a long journey ahead of us |
the social stigma associated with adoption is a big problem for many, both for the adoptive parent and the child alike. if you already have family of your own, how will your adopted child feel as in being accepted especially when she/he wasnt a baby when adopted or even if she was and later find out? you will directly or indirectly create an environment where he/she will feel like an outcast? will your family and immediate family be accepting and supportive of your new child and your decisions? are you willing to accept the responsibility of raising a child that is not biologically yours? will you be easily ticked off on everything? do you plan on ever telling the child (if she/he was a baby when adopted), that he/she was adopted? if not, how would you handle the prospect of him/her finding out from others? and the negative stereotypes he/she will likely encounter? |
bee444:age definitely has everything to do with it. in probably most societies, its very much welcomed, praised and acceptable for a man to marry a younger woman. while its not case when it comes to women. society frown upon it, many with the question "what is this one doing with someone old enough to be her mother or grand mother" "what is she doing with a boy old enough to be her son" blah blah. while when it comes to men especially older men, many see it as being/playing "smart", you hit the gold when you carry/marry "dat young tin, dat fine trophy" etc. it all lies with society and its double standard when comes to gender issues. supposing, this man definitely "love" this woman, he will most definitely face tough opposition from his family, many mothers wouldn't tolerate such marriage "i cant be alive and see you marry that woman old enough to give birth to you twice never", or is it the embarrassment he will likely face from his friends and strangers alike? and then, you will have to face those with the usual question of infertility. how many eggs does she have left in there etc we still have a long way to go. |

no matter ones opinion on it, one thing is for sure, she is very BRAVE enough to show those legs off in this our "hairyless" society. its very interesting, have we become so accustomed to our selective attractiveness as a society, that certain things which shouldnt be an issue but a personal preference, have now become labeled as "nastiness" and "gross" and what have you, as if there was a law in nature which mandates hairless legs on all women or as if she was carrying a bucket of poo on her. lest we forget, it is just a hair. we really need to expand on our definition of this thing called "beauty" for those of us who wax, shave, trim and double trim, we do so because, collectively, it makes us feel more comfortable, and "attractive" and i believe also, this is the same reason why those who dont wax, shave, and triple trim do the same. |
shoulda posted it in the auto section. anyways, your professor made a very important point. you have to consider the benefits of having a car and its burden on you as a student. if you do work part time, will the money you make be enough to cover insurance costs, bills at home, food, your personal maintenance, gas? what about the cost of the car you plan to purchase? the monthly payments? all this you have into consideration. leave off this "big boy" mentality for now, cos if join the "big boy" club, you will definitely shrink financially especially as a student. which will be Double whammy for you. maybe after your internship/ when you get a better job, at least you can consider getting a cheap car that will take you from point A to B until you are well equipped financially. i'did you continue managing until you are financially independent. continue saving, you will eventually enjoy/join the "big DANG club" not even the "big boys club" it can be a little Intimidating /embarrassing when 'em big boys pose around with their cars, but at least you are focused, you have a plan, you will eventually get there but not now. Good luck |

Mother to her son in law: "my son, i want you to take very good care of my daughter. Marriage is not and will ever be an easy journey. you will encounter many bad days, if not years in marriage, always remember the reason why you married her. i want to especially request of you something very dear to me, DONT EVER HIT MY DAUGHTER. I, and her father has been married for many decades now, we both had arguments and intense disagreements which are eventually inevitable in marriage and in all those times, he NEVER lifted a finger on me. i want to make you promise that if you ever hit my daughter, i will shoot you dead. mark my words. i dont tolerate and will not tolerate domestic abuse of any kind especially on my daughters." Mother to daughter: "Always honor and respect your husband and dont go looking for trouble where there is none.remember he is and always be the head of the family. never forget you place in the home, first of all as a wife and a mother. watch the kinds of friends you keep as a married woman, some will come to destroy, while you came to build. always communicate with each other and try to settle things between you two amicably. dont forget to pray together every day. be a virtuous woman in your home, remember either of you is perfect, so dont expect perfection in marriage. Always remember this, compromise, patience, forgiveness, caring and preserverance, love and sacrifice. you both should always try to cherish each and every moment you spend together. i will always be here for both of you, if you ever need me" |
