Until Buhari starts to dish out his package will you realize that we threw away baby with bath water.

May God save us.

That is the problem with you people. That any future leader we have may be bad does NOT automatically make this presidecy a good one. That any future leader we have may be bad, should not make us wish for the days of something "less bad". We should always be striving for better leadership, not rushing to rewrite history to give failed presidencies pass marks. I mean . . . don't you have standards? That Obasanjo was corrupt does not automatically make the Abacha days good. What is good is good, and this presidency was not.

More exhausting trite in the name of advice, why did he not lavish such "wisdom" on Goodluck who he said he supported and is forever appreciative off? 'Austerity measures must start from Aso Rock. This means that luxurious multi car convoys must be reduced. The presidential air fleet has to go, by way of being auctioned off or sold to local airlines.' - no kidding. How did that advice of his fare with Jonathan? Hypocricy is boring and old. Save the advise please, it is highly patronising and condescending. How utterly unoriginal.

The rate at which these politicians (Jonathan in particular) get on the pulpit and desecrate it with their nonsense is getting exhausting. If I was in that church I would have walked out, it is not by force to bully the ears with such nonsense on a sunday morning.

In Nigeria where our politicians are as desperate as anything, probably the most desperate in the World,he deserves an award.

Fair enough, his village can give him that award, we don't always have to wash our dirty laundry of low expectations and underachievements for the rest of the world to see. Bayelsa can give him award for being an incompetent president but at least handing over.

Delusional people, you think the rest of the world has the same backward standards of achievement and integrity as you do. A man tried to rig election, lost and was pressured to try no funny business by the whole world. And he deserves Nobel. Won't even manage reputable nomination (not submitted by his village) for Mo Ibrahim, you are talking Nobel.

So what is Jonathan doing about the misbehaviour of his wife in Bayelsa state?

Is he a weakling? Am so ashamed on his behalf.

Smh

It wasn't just Bayelsa, if you know what this woman really did in that region. A lot of people were relieved Jonathan lost. The woman was fighting and getting money from the governors of Bayela, Akwa Ibom, and was trying to bully Rivers State governor and impose her own candidate. She saw those states as her personal treasury. She fought with Seriake because he once refused to give her money. That woman would have to end up in jail if proper investigation is done. If she is wise she will stay in Congo. Wait and hope investigations begin to unearth all these things.

If I were this woman, I'd use the little time I've got left in Abuja to mend fences, build bridges, and make as many friends as I possibly can rather than create more enemies. She'd be needing their goodwill in the weeks, months, and years ahead.

Nobody would remember her soon so it won't matter. Who is Patience? Who remembers Turai? Unless she is arrested for the corruption she has left in her wake she is as good as forgotten. All the touts that never ever ever learn from history . . .

Clear and clean conscience fears no accusations but the guilty will stop at nothing to hinder justice and every attempt made to enthrone justice.

As in, the fear is palpable, the fear of the truth coming out but it will come out. This won't be like the Peter Odilli years when he was able to get an injunction barring the EFCC from investigating him because his wife was chief justice. The truth will come out and there will be repercussions. Who fears truth except children of darkness? Why do some people find the idea of the truth so offensive?

But you and i know that there was an unprecedented killing and maiming of lives in Rivers.

Its the only reason i'm sueing for peace, not that i dont wanna see the country move forward.

As long as you make it profitable to rig with no repercusions later, it will keep happening. This issue MUST be resolved for Rivers State to democratically progress. Too many lives have been lost in that state due to election violence - just think back to the Peter Odilli years. We need to start insisting on punishment of illegality and suing for justice as a means of securing peace and not cowering in fear. Anybody who feels wronged by the electoral process can take it to the tribunals but the truth must come out.

I fully concur. If Jonathan had a 100% Ijaw cabinet and performed fantastically well for all Nigerians, right thinking people wouldn't have cared. Heck if he gave Nigeria stable electricity his cabinet could have been made up of monkeys for all the people would care. The zoning of posts only affects the lives of a very very select few group of people from the "region" the positions are "zoned" to. We should start getting smarter and putting more emphasis on results and competence, not some false sense of "regional pride" attached to some man from your part of the country holding a ministerial role - competent or not. Surely we don't have such low self esteems that we tie our sense of self worth to such petty things, do we?

GEJ and PDP inclusive.

For the sake of which peace? I don't understand how Nigerians think some times I really don't. If you want peace go to the polls and secure the mandate of the people. I don't get how intimidating the populace and imposing yourself on a people without their mandate is seen as a maintaining peace. Please keep quiet. You mean to say over 800,000 people used the manual process?? Stop being naïve, wake up!

There was no election in Rivers State. Everybody with a sincere heart who is not so compromised by "anywhere belle face" politics knows this to be true. If Wike won the mandate of the people then no issues to fear here. Myopic people see this as an "attack" on the PDP. People with sense see this as making a firm statement against electoral malpractise. This is saying you may rig, but justice will catch up with you. We need to stamp out do or die electioneering in Nigeria. We need to get the electoral process right. It is the critical building block in a democracy. This is not about Goodluck or Buhari or Wike or PDP or APC.

No sir!!!! Rivers State cannot be treated in isolation. Where The CR fails, manual accreditation suffice. Or else we would have to start from the Presidential election where child-voters were reported.

APC should also accept their defeat where one exist and not grabbing, grabbing, grabbing and always grabbing.

It is not about "grabbing, grabbing, grabbing" as you put it, Nigeria is not PDP's property to share, that is not how it works. If Wike won legitimately he doesn't need to fear, this is about stamping out barbaric do or die electioneering. People lost their lives in Rivers State but I guess that means nothing to you. If Jonathan and PDP feel they were robbed in the presidential elections the tribunals are there for them as well, although we both know they won't do that since they were guilty of industrial scale rigging in the south south and parts of the south east, so they won't want to shoot themselves in the foot.

Rubbish! "Carrying along" is just a euphemism for giving juicy contract to a very select few people from one region or the other, that does not benefit the masses in itself and we need to stop being so st.upidly sentimental.

If Jonathan had performed exceedingly well with a purely nothern or purely Ijaw cabinet, the masses would not have cared about any bunch of crooks being "carried along". Jonathan was incompetent, that is why he lost the election. Unfortunately the PDP and he have not been able to tell themselves this truth. They are still so shocked from the election loss and are looking for what to blame, they really thought the masses were happy with their 16 years of failure. They didn't know they kept on winning because of a poor electoral system.

When he was still fully in power he was the best thing since sliced bread and now he is a disappointment. This cowardly culture of sycophancy needs to stop, we need to learn how to be brave and tell our leaders the truth instead of this 'any where belle face' politics. It is called integrity.

It's not even about Amaechi sef, it is about a group of people in the region that keep choosing to lie to themselves. For the past few years people had been complaning about Jonathan's incompetence but those around him refused to (and are still refusing to) tell him the truth. But I am gradually coming to realise that they couldn't tell him the truth because they probably couldn't tell themselves the truth. The only thing Jonathan unleashed in the region was Patience (and not development), and places like Rivers are still trying to clean up the mess today. Some people need to be investigated and put in jail. When ministry of Niger Delta and NDDC are probed you people's eyes will finally clear to see the enemy within - corrupt wicked inconsiderate bad leaders and sycophants masquerading as freedom fighters.

Bunch of jokers, and yet they were the one threatening heaven and earth if Jonathan was not elected. You see what I mean? How can such people now command respect? Rivers state governor was saying the same thing yet tribalism and bigotry had eaten too deeply into the sight of some people. "My oyel my son", yet Bayelsa remains a dump of a state after 5 years of Jonathan's presidency, the creeks are not cleaned up and the waters are still polluted. Yet some misguided i.d.iots will come and starts shouting Jonathan for Nobel prize. There is no other word for it than backwardness. The Niger Delta region did NOT benefit from Jonathan in power, period. What will benefit the region and everywhere else is good governance, period.

Henry Okah, MEND, even Asari, and now Boyloaf have all come out this year to proclaim that Jonathan has been a disappointment but the ones I can grudginly respect are Henry Okah and MEND (add Amaechi to the list), they had the balls to say this to Jonathan's face when he was in power and the elections had not happened. The rest are "any where belle face" AGIP people with no conviction.

Don't mind that one jor.. Talk about probing Bola Ahmed Buruji abi na Tinubu Kashamu and see how they tear you to shreds..

Let Buhari probe Sanusi, Obj, IBB, Tinubu, Alison, GEJ, Abba Moro, Aregbesola, Fashola, Ngozi, Odua Stella, Abubakar, FFK, Amaechi, etc, then we know he's a man of integrity and indeed an upright person that is not bigoted.

Let Buhari probe anybody and he will get my respect. This whole mentality of we need to probe what has gone wrong in the past but do not start probing from my side, is backwards and childish. The first serious conviction for an ex-govenor was handed down by UK against Ibori, are you not ashamed? UK had to come and catch your thief for you. In sane climates thieves of such magnitude that steal from the people would not deserve your respect (especially if they come from your side because they have brought shame to you). But of course in Nigeria everything is upside down and backwards, they even get your protection it seems.

Buhari has my support to probe and investigate whomever he deems fit, can even start from my compound if he likes. I am not as backwards as you lot. If your hands are clean you should not be scared of probe.

Any excuse to protect criminals I guess from the usual lot. I urge Buhari to not be swayed or distracted by these shouts of "witch hunt", they should not put him off from focusing on the task at hand which is sorting out the rot in the system. Whoever needs to be investigated should be investigated. Don't fall into the trap and become a special interest president that turns the other way on corruption like Jonathan, the PEOPLE are who got you into power and they got you into power to sort out the mess and do the job. I would rather like some development and progress and more accountable leaders so please feel free to with hunt in my state if you want.

This is how they shouted "with hunt" when Obasanjo went after the crook Peter Odilli. Today Peter Odilli is walking the streets free after looting his people dry and those people are not ashamed. Bunch of hopeless entitlement seeking backwards people. What a joke. If it is going to be called "witch hunt" then so be it, you would not be scared of witch hunting if your hands are clean. Jonathan's administration has to be probed, period. If not where does one draw the line? And considering the deaths and violence and voter intimidation and all of that, Rivers State elections also have to be looked into as well, the opposition should take it to the tribunal. Why are YOU obsessed with oil? NNPC is to continue exploring the North East region for oil. This is to show that this is not something starting off with Buhari. What is this fear of oil exploration in other parts of the country exactly? Continue with these childish insecurities while the rest of the world is progressing.
