Politics / Re: Massive Shakeup Awaits Mdas - 38 Parastatals To Be Scrapped. by SkyBlue1: 3:48am On May 20, 2015 |
There would probably be a backlash to this as it would lead to loss of jobs, but I hope Buhari can stand his ground. This needs to be done. I advise the government to temper savings from streamlining with some form of capital spending and clamping down on corruption. We have an overbloated and highly inefficient civil service that does need to be tidied up, I just don't envy the person who has to do it. 1 Like |

Why don't you show the WHOLE picture? This is Jonathan's administration playing politics with infrastructure because he did not like the governor. The Arrival hall as been unfinished for YEARS. I bet the canopy being used for arrival hall is still there, just look at the far left of the first picture. The airport has looked like this for a long time now, with arrival hall still an uncompleted building. I can't wait till the Jonathan of a person finally leaves on May 29th. 5 Likes |
Politics / Re: We’ll Resume Our Struggle If Buhari “draws First Blood” – Asari Dokubo by SkyBlue1: 6:26pm On May 18, 2015 |
kowema: Utterly overhyped. Asari has no more credibility. MEND backed Buhari. Even Henry Okah disparaged Jonathan. Nobody is deceived anymore except the bigoted few, Asari Dokubo isn't fighting for any people, he is fighting for his stomach and relevance. Asari Dokubo is no Saro Wiwa, he is just a tout who was given too much relevance and power in a non functioning government. 34 Likes |
Politics / Re: Nobody Is Afraid Of Buhari - Asari-dokubo Threatens War by SkyBlue1: 6:19pm On May 18, 2015 |
Shameless. When the money was flowing into his hands from a corrupt and non performing presidency there was no talk of the need for development and systems put in place to lift the people out of poverty. But now there is a threat to his money flow it now suddenly becomes about the people. Only the blind and bigoted still hold Asari in any sort of regard, he isn't a 'freedom fighter', he is a crook trying to whip of ethnic sentiments to cover himself. If Asari Dokubo is arrested tomorrow nothing will happen. Here are a list of some of the people who have suppressed the Niger Delta and it's quest for development: Peter Odilli, Orubebe, Jonathan, Patience, Asari, Tompolo, Boyloaf. These people have funnelled money into accounts to benefit themselves ONLY, but rush quickly to shout "the people" when they are threatened. What has the NDDC and Ministry of Niger Delta achieved with all the billions that go into it? The people who run that ministry and agency where are they from? Keep deceiving yourselves. People shopuld stop allowing themselves to be used as pawns in the schemes of evil men with no integrity or conscience. 1 Like |
Politics / Re: PDP Accepts Responsibility For Wrongdoings In The Past 16 Years - Read Tweet by SkyBlue1: 8:26pm On May 17, 2015 |
Tweet by some faceless person you don't even know means nothing, that could have been done by some intern. This must be as a group and different people individually, on T.V. Genuine sincere apology to the nation, on specific things. No vague nonsense alone. That can be at the very least a start but by no means everything, just a start. Nigeria cannot get the last 16 years back. |

Politics / Re: Forgive Me Where I Erred, Jonathan Begs Nigerians by SkyBlue1: 4:29pm On May 17, 2015 |
That is a back handed and patronising apology, it is too vague to be worth anything. It is like someone saying "forgive if I erred, it is human", as the full apology for shooting your family. We need some specifics so we understand HE understands how he has erred. All these sanctimonious apologies do nothing for anybody, apologies need to show contrition, you cannot be contrite if you can't even admit what you have done to yourself. It is obvious he and his party still think they are in the right, so they should all just leave and remain in the dustbins of Nigeria's history along with the other failed leaders and despots. 1 Like |

ki02020: I disagree, they were absolutely terrible and made Jonathan look even more incompetent. Bomb goes off - Doyin Okupe speaks, Economic crash - Doyin Okupe speaks, Girls kidnapped - Doyin Okupe speaks, International Diplomacy - Doyin Okupe speaks on Aljazeera and BBC HardTalk and CNN. At a point one begins to wonder, where is the friggin president and doesn't he have mouth himself to express his views? We knew more about Mr Presidents thoughts from Doyin Okupe than the president himself. You didn't hear Mr President felt bad about the kidnapping, but you heard that Doyin Okupe said Mr President feels bad about the kidnapping. They were very crude, bullish, arrogant and utterly utterly off putting and unlikeable. They did more harm than good. I was certainly not taken by their forced attempts at intelligence and charm. 2 Likes |

Now digest the irony of your bird in hand million in the the jungle analogy. Let us not deceive ourselves please, you are making a false argument. Jonathan ran a government that defined corruption. |

Politics / Re: Btw Jonathan & Amaechi, Who Betrayed The Niger Delta Most? by SkyBlue1: 10:26am On May 16, 2015 |
Jonathan. Spent eight years in government in Bayelsa, was vice president for three years, and president for 5 years. Yet his home state was, is and remains a dump with little development to show for it. 5 years of his presidency, billions and billions poured into the NDDC and Ministry of Niger Delta, and people are still talking about things like East West Road that has been an issue for decades. Compare this with a man who despite his short comings, has given Rivers State the biggest expansion in quality public educational facilities the state has ever seen, as well as in hospitals, expanding on agriculture, and some infrastructural development. These are not made up, these are the hard facts. Only hopeless bigots whose lives are nothing but tribalism and bigotry and small mindedness do not see this. This whole issue of bigotry needs to be checked because it is the only reason why someone like Wike can be considered a serious candidate to lead the state, all because some deluded people think they are "paying Amaechi back" by pushing a well known tout towards governance. Understand this, outside of Nigeria absolutely no one and I repeat no one, gives a crap about what village or "tribe" you are from in Nigeria. You are all seen as Nigerians in Africa, and black/African outside Africa. Tribalism only matters to you. The glory of your hamlet only matters to you. We should stop using it to scuttle meaningful development and progress in the country. Expand your horizons and stop being so friggin small minded. You want the world to take notice of that hamlet of yours then actually develop and make smart choices, try to join this century. 15 Likes 3 Shares |

shineeye: I don't expect him to spend his whole energy fighting corruption but expect a pro development agenda as well, that is why you have ministers. Besides, it would shock you what setting the right tone can achieve. He has not even gotten into power yet but he is already fighting corruption. People are fleeing the country and NNPC and others are refunding money. Why? Because he has set the tone. When you think there would be no consequences for your action, things carry on the way they have for the past 5 years - Jonathan was very much pro corruption, that was the tone HE set. 13 Likes |

barcanista: Put that question to him when he is in power, I can only speak on the one we have seen in power and not the one that hasn't started. I wonder why you never put these hypocritical questions of yours to Jonathan who is STILL in power. One thing I know is if anybody is going to make an attempt at tackling corruption and doing what needs to be done to recover past stolen money, it is definitely not Jonathan. I am not going to speak for Buhari but I have more hope in him. Any other hypocritical shameless questions you want to ask? 56 Likes |

barcanista: You can be quite shameless but I should come to expect that from you. ALWAYS using one crook to justify another, especially now in these past few weeks I assume you are under no further illusion that your hero Jonathan encouraged corruption and was corrupt, as well as running the most disappointing and incompetent presidency we have ever seen - and try as you may you will NOT rewrite that narrative when the evidences are so glaring. That Obasanjo and IBB were crooks does not erase the fact that Jonathan is one as well. 75 Likes 3 Shares |

Politics / Re: I'm Leaving The Country With My Family - Jonathan by SkyBlue1: 4:43pm On May 15, 2015 |
Of course it has to be out of the country, he is leaving it in such a mess that it is not even a viable place to even vacation in, or get health care in, or get educated in, etc. So he has to go to saner climes where things actually function to be able to relax. Unfortunately I don't think he is intelligent enough to see the irony. And with regards to rebuilding PDP, the fact that he is still blaming his aides for his election loss shows he and his party are not yet ready to even be considered for any sort of federal leadership for a long time. Bunch of jokers. Until PDP and its members collectively and sincerely apologise to all Nigerians for 16 years of failed leadership, I don't think they are even worth being mentioned when serious things are being discussed. They still don't get that what kept them in power for so long was a rotten electoral system and lack of options. They must apologise, absolutely reform, and then try begging for votes when they are ready. But I doubt this would happen. 12 Likes |
Politics / Re: I Will Return Stronger To Rebuild PDP,Johnathan Tells Party Leadership by SkyBlue1: 5:29am On May 15, 2015 |
The way PDP things sef, they have a mentality problem. What does "stronger" mean in this context? Don't just come back with strength, come back with vision as well, strength without vision is meaningless. Thankfully I don't see any threat of another Jonathan presidency, or a PDP one for that matter for a good while. So he can come back as superman if he wants, that is their business. By the time they start probing and unearthing the depths of corruption in his government he will stay wherever it is he is running to. 1 Like |

More childish baiting by some silly individuals, learn from the lesson of PDP and Jonathan. Nigerians are the ones voting, Nigerian voters come from all parts of Nigeria and are made up of all groups in Nigeria. Nigerians would be the ones to pick the presidents. That reality will sink in better for everyone as the country continues to improve its electoral system. 1 Like |

Would be disappointed if Buhari takes these silly demands seriously. Who the heck are these people that feel they have a right to demand this and that position in government, is Buhari father christmas? This is not about handing out gifts to appease anybody or any group's childish sense of entitlement, this is about governance and getting the job done. What is wrong with all these silly people and groups? It is getting quite sickening seeing these "demands" for position everyday to be honest. Demand my left yansh. The whole world should stop because they have "demanded". Tone it down please, in a country as diverse and populous as Nigeria, no one should act like they are the only ones in country, Buhari will pick the ministers he wants to pick taking into consideration any law there might be. 8 Likes |

sinizia: You're taking this too personal. This sentiment is coming from a nationalist group so what on earth do you expect their position to be? I don't know why people are so quick to extrapolate the comments of anybody or group in any part of the country to mean the sentiment or comment of a whole region. Was a poll taken? It is a federal parastatal. No ethnic group has any inherent "right" to demand the chairman should come from it. Now if you can prove the appointments are purposefully biased or prejudiced to prevent somebody from place A from getting it over somebody from place B, then we can have an adult conversation. 125 Likes 3 Shares |

biafranqueen: Tribal warlords. Report of a rift between an elected president and a member of his party is automatically turned into Yoruba and Hause fight. Is that all you think about, are those the only colours in your spectrum? Are you really this small minded in real life or is it something you have to work at? You and your lot really need to grow up, the whole world and all there is in it does not revolve on the axis of what ethnic group someone happened to be born into. If you found out tomorrow through some interesting twist in family history you were partly Hausa, would you kill yourself? For once try not to be so predictably predictable, go out and get some fresh air it might do you good and open your horizons to a world out there much bigger than your hamlet. 5 Likes 2 Shares |
Politics / Re: Ohanaeze Chief Threatens Igbo Will Secede If Marginalised by SkyBlue1: 6:28pm On May 12, 2015 |
With all these threats here and there you would have thought that the South East and Niger Delta regions were turned into Dubai by the outgoing president during his tenure. Please you guys should let Buhari actually get into office first and have a chance to do the job he was elected to do. If this is just some ploy to beg for position try a different tact. I think majority of Nigerians are more interested in the job getting done than where the person who is doing the job comes from all in the name of "carrying everybody along". Let Buhari get in and do his job. If you had expended all this energy on Jonathan perhaps he would have performed. 73 Likes 4 Shares |
