Nairaland GeneralRe: How Annoying Is Queue-jumping To You? by slimyem: 6:34am On Feb 06, 2013
Queue-jumping...veeery common amongst my fellow Nigerians.
Due-process is alien to them. No form of decorum at all.Everything na gragra and first to finish..undecided
I hate short-cuts and i don't take them.I wait my turn mostly but sometimes people go wan turn you to mumu and all you got to do is speak out against there and then or scatter the whole thing..grin
I make exceptions for pregnant women or old people when necessary.smileycool
Patience is truly a virtue almost never found in man.
The world will be a better place if people could just do things the right way..undecided

FamilyRe: How Do You Feel When A Man Cries by slimyem: 5:55am On Feb 06, 2013
Nothing wrong with a man crying if he has to.
Doesn't make him less of a man that he is.undecided
Even most of these men that act all toughened up cry when alone with themselves.grin
...and how do I feel?
Indifferent mostly.Emotions need to be let out not bottled all up inside.undecided

FamilyRe: Man Insists On Seeing Suitor's Office Before Blessing The Marriage by slimyem: 10:52pm On Feb 05, 2013
debrief08: Slimyem its not even about modern times, in the old days, your in Laws go down to your dead ancestors to inquire if there was any questionable character or issues in your family line, so what is wrong is taking your prospective father in law to see your office?
Absolutely nothing..!
..except that the culture of digging deep into family backgrounds has relaxed over the years because of the prevalence intense and selfish desires of so many.
I'm guessing that why the father's request is strange to the op undecided since the expectation na to just bring yam and take the wife home.
We are going back to basics and everyone should start adjustingsmiley
FamilyRe: Man Insists On Seeing Suitor's Office Before Blessing The Marriage by slimyem: 10:22pm On Feb 05, 2013
I don't think its about being hungry or whatever..
Papa probably has doubts about the son-in-law's job legitimacy. If the guy has nothing to hide, then so be it!
No responsible father in this age and time will give off their daughter to some fellow just like that without making necessary enquiries about the life/background of the man.
Thumbs up to papa jare!cheesy
The world is getting crazier so the rules are changing.
Like debrief said..so many yahoo yahoo boys and "business men"(with no clearly defined business o) all around these days and some women are just too desperate to worry as long as someone's paying the bride price and they are soon going to become a "Mrs".
Thank God for fathers like these grin who are too principled to be swayed, bought or deceived by unnecessary emotions and on-the -surface acts.wink
Responsible prospective husbands should be ready to submit to their father-in-laws tests/probescheesy
You are not taking a chicken or goat home but a whole human being so much has been given to making her desirable to you.wink..and the people that value her as much need to be sure she's in safe hands.cheesysmiley

FamilyRe: How Can this be? by slimyem: 4:35pm On Feb 05, 2013
Hmmn...
I have an aunty like your mum..
They say things that they don't mean to their children when frustrated/overwhelmed with too much.
Don't take it to heart.
My aunt once told her only teenage daughter she hates her..when in truth they both can't last one day without each other.undecided
She is your mother and she doesn't wish you any harm. She just expects a little more than what she's getting.
Try and make her understand the situation as calmly as you can and ask for her prayers too just to make her feel you need her.
It'll get better..i hope.smiley..and may your desires come to pass soon.

Nairaland GeneralRe: Your Shoe Size Can Tell Your Age. Try This ! by slimyem: 5:35am On Feb 05, 2013

CrimeRe: Celebrity Saudi Preacher (PICTURED) ‘raped’, Burnt, And Beat His 5-year-old Daug by slimyem:
Useless country with useless laws!!
Someone that is a risk to the society and is supposed to be locked up for life is made to pay fine and walk away? huh
Activists say under Islamic laws a father
cannot be executed for murdering his
children. Husbands can also not be
executed for murdering their wives, the
group say.
Imagine this nonsense!!
...licence for maniacal fathers and husbands..
