CelebritiesRe: “I Am Still In Love With Ayo Adesanya” – Pasuma by slimyem: 4:20pm On Jan 18, 2013
babyosisi: I was thinking pasuma was a woman and Ayo adesanya was some man
Then when I saw that the pasuma was a man ,I said OMG he is a homosexual shocked :only to be relieved that Ayo was a female grin grin
Then I read the thread and said, who are these people and what are they known for?
How can they carry local village dudes and dudettes to grace NL frontpage
Tomorrow it will be Effiong the royal palm wine tapper is in love with ifeoma
Madam,you have made enough noise.
That you don't know them doesn't make them local/unimportant.
Leave the thread if you can't relate to people being discussed!

FamilyRe: What Is Wrong With This Picture ??? by slimyem: 12:32pm On Jan 18, 2013
Given the granpa's explanation and the fact that someone else took the picture, its innocent but of course seeing them like that makes all form of critisisms and assumptions appropriate considering the level of moral decadence and perversion existing these days.
Though intentions are pure here,it shouldn't be encouraged.
It wouldn't be a big deal if it was a picture taken in a village stream in 1972.
This is 2013.
The world's getting crazier by the day.

FamilyRe: Saying ''thank You' After Meal Still Relevant In Our Society? by slimyem: 12:38pm On Jan 17, 2013
I said them as a kid both in school and at home and i say them now when i get to stay over someplace and get to eat there but i have dropped saying it at home since so long.
..and No,I don't say "thank you" when/because someone's doing me a favour.I say it because it feels like a noble thing to do.
Showing appreciation/gratitude doesn't hurt even if they are your parents and itstheir duty to feed you.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Imagine This Cover Letter: Can It Work Here in Nigeria? by slimyem: 10:16am On Jan 17, 2013
People write sincere letters like this all the time.
All the covers letters i have written in my life this sincere.
No inflatory remarks of any kind.
As much as there's so much favoritism and influence is involved in Nigerian employment today, some organisations won't take anything less than qualified/sincerity in all respects influence or not.
So yes, this kind of letter can work if it fits the profile of what the employer wants
CelebritiesRe: A Recent Photo Of Azadus by slimyem: 9:39am On Jan 17, 2013
Azadus was such a fine musician..
Only that indigenous music wasn't so appreciated in his days...
"You is the one" and "Madam" were raves.
I feel really bad seeing him this way..
I do hope he bounces back somehow.
The op too didn't do well by posting his pictures here.
This mockery is so unnecessary.

CelebritiesRe: Picture Of Laila Ikeji New Baby by slimyem: 10:34pm On Jan 15, 2013
She hinted that she was pregnant on a particular thread a while ago..
Congratulations to her.
..and why is the op calling her popular?
No one knows her outside Nairalanders.
The identity clash with Linda Ikeji won't do her so much good.
RomanceRe: Identical Twin Sisters Marry Identical Twin Brothers (pics) by slimyem: 9:27pm On Jan 15, 2013
nenergy: Nigerian families will call it a taboo. You can't even marry from the same family as your brother/sisters. sad
I have seen it happen here in Nigeria.undecided

CelebritiesRe: D'banj Would Have Been Valued More In America- 2face by slimyem: 11:32am On Jan 15, 2013
2face and D'banj have always respected each other.
Ask D'banj questions about 2face and he'll equally have nice things to say.
Healthy rivalry!smiley
That said,i do not think 2face is right here.I'd love to believe the percentage of Nigerians who listen to indigenous artistes/music is far higher than those who listen to foreign artistes/music.We won't value D'banj any more as a foreign act if what he's been giving us lately is what he's got to offer.undecided

FamilyRe: Marrying For Comfort by slimyem: 7:37am On Jan 15, 2013
Op,who doesn't want comfort?
You?
It is a very logical factor to consider when making plans to marry/settle down IMO especially for someone who has been sufficiently comfortable all her life.
It is more about survival than it is about personal choice or economy.

HealthRe: Best Way To Carry A Baby Is On Your Back? by slimyem: 4:47pm On Jan 14, 2013
Anvaller: Slimyem, u should have used the alternative proverb.. which is more easily comprehensible.
gbe omu f'omo, gbe omo f'omu ki omu sha ti de enu omo.. (take the baby to the breastt or the breastt to the baby, the point is to breastfeed the baby)
I appreciate that u used a proverb tho. Try to teach ur kids as much as u can and they would grow up to be deep thinkers..

To the topic, I am a fan of the traditional way of carrying the kid on the back but I have not also seen any particular minus in the white man's method of the baby at the front. So I am neutral on this.
hmmn..
I appreciate your opinion..smiley
Thanks!
CareerRe: Your Most Embarrasing Moment At Work by slimyem: 12:36pm On Jan 14, 2013
I took my bad habit to the office..
I'm fond of folding up my shirt and stroking my navel.
I was totally carried away this day and did it in the presence of two male colleagues.
One of them just screamed "Stop that" at me and i had dropped with so much speed before i knew what had happened.
I was embarrassed!cheesy
