Pretty obvious. Whoever came up with the nonsense is neither bright or a good liar. The story is full of contradictions and neither does it make sense. At first the rat leaves TWO slippers and the lady puts on TWO slipper then all of a sudden we are talking about ONE slipper. BTW who puts on one slipper Then there's the dumb man who seems to think that the manufacturing company makes slippers only for this woman and that the shop sells slippers only to her and no one else. Not to mention the people eating pee. Pee smells and is a chemical compound surely something would taste off #Dumb characters and even dumber story

What I have learnt so far and tips for newbies:

- one of the first things you must do is to head to primark and get appropriate clothing. Get a jacket, warmer abi na skull cap, gloves, scarf. All the cloth u brought from Nigeria is useless, maybe except ur underwear.
-Always plan ahead for trips involving trains and coaches. Its cheaper buying tickets online days before you travel. Spent owo omogo taking virgin train from london to chester and back. Plus impromptu visits to friends in london. Wasted cash. From now onwards, I will only visit people if they give me two weeks notice so I can buy ticket beforehand. If dey dont inform me on time, then they will have to pay for it.
- travel coach for long distances. A coach is the equivalent of ekenedillichukwu in nigeria, but much safer and smartly run. Its very cheap. Spent £40 pounds on a train trip from london to chester, A coach trip costs £28, £14 if u book early. The train is faster but where the hell re u rushing too anyway.
- if u re a hustler, ur priority must be getting any accomodation. Because sans accommodation is sans bank account is sans national insurance number is sans job, savvy?
- if u ve not left nigeria now, pls bring food wen coming, if u re allowed 2 bags of 25kg each , pls dedicate 1 bag to nigerian food, I beg u, dont say I did not tell u o. Dere food here is nonsense. Bought fish and chips this morning, d idiot poured vinegar on it ( vinegar o, imagine eating dundun with vinegar) had to throw it away, bought chicken kebab, d tin no even resemble chicken to start with. Threw that one away too, so invariably the only tini have eaten is the food I eat in a friends place on saturday.
- make friends quick, dose oyinbo ppl mo bose nlo, dey re students too so dey can giv u budgeting tips. After all dey re playing home while u re away, savvy?

Submitted @ vfs Ikeja Sept 25. Got approval mail at noon today. Was @ teleperformance Ikeja yesterday and today sha, no show. Dey told me to give at least 5 working days. I met someone who got approval mail last Tuesday who is yet to collect his passport, so I guess I shld jst stfu and take a chill pill. Won a pe mi, ko ti Kan mi.
I have made contact with my school if they can give me some days grace, hope my programme leader accepts.
What visa application requires in Nigeria is an indifference attitude else u will ve hypertension.

Hi Smakati, I submitted on the 25th of September at VFS Ikeja and I received an approval mail from them around 12:54am this morning. Refresh your email and if you still haven't received it, be calm. I am positive you will still get it today. Take care.
Thanks for the word of encouragement. I believe!

Good day peeps,
Is there any one here who applied Sept 25 or 26 at vfs Ikeja who has received approval mail?
I submitted on Sept 25 and up till now I haven't received an approval mail. I don't know whether I should be worried or I should stay calm.

AdanneNwachukw:

Hi Smakati, I know how you feel sad it's so sad. I really pray they contact us today. Don't know what else to do but pray especially since it doesn't seem like there's anyone to contact about this. How come you got a text message though? Didn't get any. Asked them that day if I could pay the 400 naira for their text message alert but they said they don't do it anymore. Also, the Deputy High Commission is the one in Lagos but I thought all student visas were processed in Abuja?

I really pray they contact us today by God's grace, let us not lose hope. Was hoping mine would take 3 working days like someone's own on this thread sad but that would have been Tuesday. Still praying we will be contacted today. Resigned from work on Monday. Has to just resign, couldn't concentrate anyway.
I did not pay for SMS, I guess the lady at the counter made a mistake cos I was receipted for it. I was hoping for a three day thingy too. Let's see how today goes. May God help us.

AdanneNwachukw: Hi everyone, good afternoon. Please I am new to this thread but want to say it helped me immensely in my UK student visa application last week. Thanks everyone.

Please I want to ask if there's anyone that applied last week Thursday, 25th of September at VFS Ikeja that has heard anything at all from the BHC or VFS. My school has resumed already and I'm so worried cos I don't even have a decision on my visa application yet talk less of collecting the passport. Please anyone with useful information should let me know. Thanks a lot.

Tried contacting BHC Abuja today at 10:41am and the prompter kept saying their opening hours are between 10am to 12 noon and there's no one to speak to me. This is kind of confusing considering I called during their opening hours.
Hi all, been flying low following this thread and so far I have learnt a lot. Kudos to all contributors.
@Ada, I applied last Thursday too. Apart from a text message to say my application has been sent to deputy high commission, I haven't received any mail.
My school has resumed too, my latest start date is Oct13, but all these public holidays are just annoying.
Am at work (I haven't resigned yet) but I can't concentrate. if I don't receive any mail today, I will turn myself to 'osomalo' @ vfs office tomorrow.
NYSC / Re: Nysc Ish. by smakati(m): 6:36am On Aug 23, 2014
First off, edit ur post and remove all dose thrash u wrote about the ibo people. How many ibo people have u interacted with that made u reach dat conclusion.

2. Did u read ur nysc handbook at all? No corper has the right to leave his state of posting without the state COOD permission. Even ur CDs COOD or ur zi can not give u dis permission. Sometimes I wonder y people can't be patient for 12months, I knw nysc is thrash, jst play along, respect d nysc staff, have fun. And collect ur nysc certificate. Is dat difficult?

Anyway sha, my advise: calm down! don't redeploy, u will not get the state u want, dey may deploy u to a state u won't like, more like frying pan to fire.
As for ur allawee, it depends on d number of months u absconded', but d people who had similar issues in ondo last year, were paid allawee.
