Sadly beating is rather come. Both genders can be the victim.

A friend got beaten up by hubby. I was shocked to hear. She was so ashamed to tell me. Because I warned her that maybe she was rushing into the marriage a bit too much. You know our people, if you keep insisting they should thread carefully they turn you into "frenemy" that doesn't want their progress in life.

Today the guy is a lazy womanizer. Despite her bringing the money in, he treats her like garbage. I am so pissed off that I might stop communicating with her. Each time I hear her woes, I just control myself and tell her to pray. I do not want to vent the anger in me towards her hubby. She made her choice. Her family is fed up with the guy so she now conceals her woes from her family. For that reason I have continued to give her a little succor by listen and encouraging her.

How can people marry without decent jobs yet and decide to have a child? All my advise for her before and just after the wedding fell on deaf ears. No she suffers for it. I have to constantly resist the urge to say "I warned you" and also resist the urge to berate her hubby. I have to respect their marriage.
