When u earn $20 per hour and work 6 to 7 hours its $120 to 140 daily. In a week u get $500. IF u have 2 jobs u get at leas $1k a week u can get 4k a month and that's $20 dollars per hour some get higher depends on the job. While Naija u work for a whole month and don't get $200 worth of pay. Give an average Nigerian the opportunity to work abroad (not fraudsters) they'll make money and surely have 2 jobs plus an extra hobby. And make $. But Naija. 120k na big money for people eye. I love Nigerians cuz they are strong when the job's worth it.
It's when you don't hold a job with longer hour's you look for a second one.
40hrs a week is the ideal when the rate is good, but 60hrs a week will sustain you

As we all know, living overseas is very enjoyable but u must pay for those things unfailingly every month

This brings me to my question...

How much do u spend on your bills monthly overseas?

Pls note that it may vary from country to country

As for me, this is my breakdown spendings every month

1: house rent $ 400
2: grocery shopping $ 150
3: electricity $ 25
4: water $ 10
5: internet $50
6: gas $5
7: car fuel $ 50
8: kid school $ 150
7: miscellaneous $ 200

Total $ 1040 monthly

Pls kindly let use know yours because our people in Nigeria don't ever understand and they always demand and demand from us thinking there is a tree overseas that we pluck money from...and they pay their rent yearly o

May God bless our hussles

Up your communication skills and you will have no problem interacting with people of all sorts. And that inferiority feeling most of you have before the whites due to your skin is a mere delusion. You just need to overcome it.

Walk like a king. And be proud of your skin. Telling me your skin colour is preventing you from making friends with whites due to how they view you is a mere delusion of the mind.

Work on that and you will find no hinderance talking to whites. It must not end in friendship. Just talk to someone. There are people I talk to, laugh with but it all end there. No exchange of contacts.

Talking and communicating with people doesn't always mean it must end in serious friendship.

First learn how to communicate with people . When you master that, you proceed to the next.

I don't keep too many friends. There are people that know me. I can't remember how many times people holla at me when on the road. These are people that I laugh with or gist with when we see but I don't have their contacts.

But you believed the guy complaining of not being able to approach whites lives abroad but those that debunked his claim don't right?

The average Nigerian has more problems than the average white.

Do you know in some western countries, the government pay those that are jobless? Do they complain of the usual basic amenities our government can't provide us here? The many issues we face here in Nigeria, do they face them over there?

Do you know the average Nigerian live below a dollar per day? Be real with yourself. So what problems are they facing there that make people never to make friends? The average white live the life of politician. Everyone can afford and live comfortably well.

In essence, you meant those abroad live like animals isn't it?

You are merely just being hypocritical.
Why don't you be quiet for once and learn.
What you have in this part of the world is Dearth of Social Amenities, Yes they have it in abundance and it has been paid for by some people before you and some are paying for it and future generations will still pay.

Do you know that for you to be educated to the level of First degree you will be in debt of nothing less than £15k or DOLLARS? if you are unlucky and careless you will rack up around £20k.
When do you think such a person is gonna finish up paying?

Do you know they pay as high as 25% of their income monthly? You can't dodge it, it's taken directly from the source.

Do you know that that unemployment benefits that they are being given Comes from the sweat of some certain people? and it is not one fantastic money i think is about £35 a week or so in UK and you are not entitle to any unemployment benefits in the US if you haven't contributed anything? that is you must have paid income taxes at some point before you became jobless, that money is just to augment your savings before getting another job.

Before you show the indices of living in Nigeria and elsewhere.
How much are you owing your bank here as Mortgage repayment? how much are you paying back to the government on student loan? How much are you paying back on your car loan? Do you pay car or home insurance? How much do you pay as PAYE or business tax here in Nigeria?

As a guy I have learnt never to be desperate when making friends especially with the opposite sex. I will still tell you talking to girls is a skill. A girl will reach out to you based on how you make her feel.

If your approach sucks and all official, you can't pull such a girl off.

Do you know getting someone addicted to you is a skill? If a girl doesn't reciprocate your gesture, the rule says ghost her.

She will remember you based on how you make her feel the first day you met her and she will by her self reach out to you. That's why men who know what they are doing relate with people.

You don't force yourself on people. If you don't have any single sense of humour, forget it. Whether white or black, you simply have not been able to create a mark in such a person that will make him or her reach out to you again.

If you know how to create good impressions, people will always want to see you after the first encounter.

Simply create an impression that will make someone to remember you. It is the same for job seekers. It is the impression you create with the HR that will make him take you for a particular job. Same goes with when relating with people. What is it you have done really impressively that should make me to keep in touch with you again after our first encounter?

Have you been able to create a value to make me reach out to you again?

Simply create an impression that will make people want you and want to see you again and again.

It is that impression that many don't know how to create. Relating with whites and not reaching out to you has nothing to do with racism. You simply didn't create any value that should make the person to make you a friend.
Western Countries citizens aren't like African's,they mind their business, they are use to not making friends with people, they don't care who you are, people who do not bother to call their families will be glued to you?

From which planet did you descend from?

There would always be hotel bars and restaurants that are not only for lodgers, there would always be the ones that open to anybody that is well dressed and wishes to have a drink or meal. People look for ways to socialise (even in winter like visiting ice rinks) and make it work, people buy courses to speak with a neutral British accent or General American accent and make it work. They do so many things just to be able to socialise and deal with loneliness... rather than complain and insult anyone that makes suggestions.

So sure, yes for you, the verdict is you would NEVER be able to socialize with people in your environment abroad. However, don't make the generalisation that it can be done if you are black (or African).

Because you have failed to do something doesn't mean it cannot be done! Just because I can't run a 100 metres race under 11 seconds, does that mean that someone of the same age as me cannot do it?

And if offering Nigerians suggestions on how to deal with loneliness and socialize with their neighbours in a foreign land makes me an ITK, I wear it proudly. Some people are likely reading what I am writing and might decide to take the bull by the horn and do something instead of complaining and saying it is hopeless... "white people don't want to be my friend"
.

People out there are not after your manner of outfit out there, Looking good and wearing smart clothing is an everyday thing,so that won't stop them from throwing you out if you don't have a business around there.

Eating out is an everyday thing abroad, most people are too busy to go cook,so don't nude that as an excuses, besides people only do take away during the winter, autum and spring, it's only during summer people eat out.
meaning you have to wait for a whole 12 months to fulfil that fantasy.

Your accent will always give you away, they know those of you with oluwole accent, immediately you open your loud mouth they know you are just a wanna be,they more you form a hybrid accent the more you embarrassed yourself,it is always better to speak in your clear African accent for them to hear you clearly.

Lastly, how many countries have you visited?

The issue is you don't know how to do it and you are not interested in putting the effort to learn and make it work (where in the beginning you would have to risk looking like a pest several times till you get it right... yes that is the hard truth.). The fact that you group all of them in one category exposes your ignorance how to actually socialise in polite society.

If you are in a country and can't make friends with 3 - 5 guys and get a girlfriend or girlfriends, it has nothing to do with the people but everything to do with YOU. The same place that you are complaining of, is where someone else would go to and in 3 - 6 months would build a decent social life.

If you believe you cannot build a decent social life in USA or Canada... fine and accepted but the assumption should NOT be that it cannot be done just because you have failed to do it.
I just said that you don't know jack about living abroad and socializing.
Do you know that if you press it too much the friend/s you are trying to court will call Police on your for harassment which might earn you a criminal record if care is not taken.

You approach to me as a Nigerian who had lived it indicates that you are a desperate fellow talk more of european and Americans who always watch every move.

The bolded is exactly what I've been trying to explain to these guys, but I don't know why they just cannot understand. Nobody is saying you can't walk up to people, strike conversations, and have a good time. People here are polite and friendly, so they will respond well. The problem is, it is difficult to keep it. They are not interested in committing to any friendship, and friendship requires commitment and staying in touch over a long time. What is the point in walking up to a girl or boy and having a nice conversation that ends right there? Even if they give you their contact, they won't text you. If you text them, they may ignore you after sometime if you keep texting them or respond coldly. We are not talking about friendliness of a few minutes; we are talking about friendship over a long time. Making friends here is difficult for people not because it is difficult to talk to people, but because it usually doesn't lead anywhere as the people do not intend to keep it going. Why is this so difficult for the people on here to understand? In Nigeria, if you meet someone and have a nice conversation, you will likely exchange whatsapp numbers and stay in touch and become good friends from there. Here, if you meet someone and have a nice conversation, it ends there. Those YouTube videos, do they show you what happens after the conversation you see on the screen? Do they tell you that they stay in touch after that one time? Ah, people here ehn!
Don't mind the irritants, they always feel they know it,if you press someone's too much out there they might even report you to the police for harassment.
Their Number is part of their privacy, they won't release it to you and if you are lucky to get it they might end up ignoring you like you earlier said.

Put the effort, dress up and deliberately go to places where everybody is in a social mood and make your approaches example: parks, gardens, beaches, hotel lounges, upscale bars, theme restaurants, amusement parks, museums, art exhibitions, concerts etc.

You would make a lot of approaches and adjust till you start getting results.
Park, gardens, beaches outing can only come during the summer which is just less than 3 months in a whole year, some some times some summer period are even cold that you can't go to those places.

Mr Man go and sit down. There are guys who went from Nigeria to Germany and joined social clubs (and frequently go to public parks and sporting events) to meet friends and they don't complain about loneliness. Some of these guys put a lot effort in learning German just so that they can have a social life (to mingle with Germans) even though their work (programming) doesn't require them to be fluent in German.

They deliberately and painfully put the effort to deal with loneliness, they didn't sit down and complain on a faceless forum.

If you don't know how to do something you learn it, it might be painful and uncomfortable but it's very doable and the rewards are worth. It is humans beings who live abroad and not alien species, if you share the same interests and you are a cool guy, you would make friends.

For example, if you are in Canada, learn about hockey (in depth) frequently visit a popular sports bar and watch hockey games... you would likely meet "regulars" that could become your friends.

And if you actually like playing sports, go to a place where you can play and you would meet regulars who could eventually become your friends... that's how I made friends with some basketballers even though I am still VERY terrible in playing basketball.
Why don't you stop being stupid for once,it is one thing for you to want to make friends it is another for them to accept your friendship.
Who told you they will still keep in touch with you after your First meeting? who told you they will even exchange numbers with you the way we do here? Who told you you will have their home address and just bump on to them the way we do here?

In Nigeria, their social life was structured and for guys, money might have played a big issue in dating. However, in western countries, you need to be proactive about your social life and having money doesn't give you a big edge when it comes to dating.

A young lady who took to Twitter to narrate how she trekked from Ikeja to Mile 12 after being denied transport fare by a man gets N175,000 as consolation, WonderTV media reports.

In an earlier report by WonderTV media, a Twitter user with the handle @orla_mide narrated how she trekked from for over 3 hours back home after she refused to open her legs on a first date to a man.

As a consolation, a random Twitter follower took to her DM to gift her a whopping sum of N175,000 as a token for going through such stress for being a beautiful lady.

Taking to her page to share the news, she wrote;
