Kindly help me with your sincere opinions. I'm a health professional and I plan for the opportunity to leave Nigeria to overseas where there I presume have well paying jobs. At same time, just recently landed the opportunity to work in a Federal teaching hospital. Should I continue with my plans to leave to overseas or better to keep the Federal job in Nigeria?

Manufacturing and agriculture are not bad but in a country like Nigeria, you could set up an industry under one government just to lost it all in the next administration.

I am a 40 year old man without a job, home or family.

I graduated from army day secondary School in the year 2000 and immediately joined the army in 2001 at the age of 17 claiming to be 18 and even bought and wrote the Nigerian defense academy exams while still in training in 2001.

I passed out as one of the best recruits and was posted the corps of military police and appointed Lance copral. I was posted to one of the most dangerous division where I continued to trying to get into the NDA and at the same time further my studies.

I wrote jamb and scored 252, was given admission to study law but the army turned it down and since I have no other means of finance I have to continue with the rigrous job.

There are so many instances where I could have lost my life but God saved me.

I was later victimized and dismissed for permitting the escape of a detainee in 2009.

I sold up all my properties including land trying to get justice since I have just five years to retire. I was fortunate enough to be employed in the federal road safety corps in 2011.

I worked for about six months when I was called back by the army. Since I have just a few years before pensionable retirement, I obliged and was deployed to the North East.

We were later court martialled and dismissed for failure to perform military duties, disobedience to a particular order and insubordination.

Ever since then I have searched for job to no avail. My wife has left with my child. My family has deserted me that I was warned to remain in frsc and not to return to the army.

I have even attempted suicide before I was rescued. Sometimes I ask God if he wants me to be a pastor. I even prayed for a dieing Man to test my faith.

I have struggled I in this life and done so many odd jobs which I would not mention.

My question is what did God want me to be.

Pls. I need your urgent advise and attention because am frustrated. Thanks.

Look for a very good ifá practitioner to help you and make a good divinitition.

I have been having this thought of quitting my job to learn driving in order to pick up an UBER or BOLT job but the fear of getting a car on hire purchase is always coming as an hindrance.

I am a family man whose salary of just #85,000 is not even enough to cater for the family .Before the salary even comes in, there are always debts that have been incurred.

Most times,I dont even get up to #20,000 as a result of debts and seriously I am fed up. Infact , I think of suicide sometimes because i am so depressed right now. I have rent of #140,000 hanging on my neck too.

Please will it be wise to quit to learn driving for purpose of commercial driving job?

While it is good that Nigerian passports be produced locally, it is the dubious nature & poor planning culture of this administration that has led to scarcity of passports & not because of the existing contract.

STNL has a contract to produce about 6m passports & while the exact number of passports produced so far is debatable (about 4m+), the contract cannot be said to be unfavorable (except in the sense that we should produce passports locally) or for life.

This administration is piss-poor when it comes to planning & implementation but always prefers to blame others for its incompetence.

The solution is simple, allow the existing contract run its course or mandate STNL to produce the balance passports within a specific timeframe or payoff STNL for the balance of passports yet to be printed... How hard can it be?

Go back to history of booklet scarcity,it dates back to jonathan era,it was the scarcity that triggered the Present administration to then ask for the details of that particular contract, unfortunately the landmines laid for the country by jonathan and other thieves is been carefully navigated,only for you to come here and misrepresent facts.

You even erroneously stated that the contract was renewed 3ce,how can you renew a contract with no expiry date?
What jonathan and his 40 thieves did was to increase the number of passports to be printed periodically,if you are in doubt go back to the main article and underline where it was stated that the contract was renewed.

iI agreed with you that those in this Present administration are also culpable for some of these things, particularly the Civill Servants they are the ones who benefits more from all these fraudulent schemes.

My advice to the government is to TERMINATE the contract with immediate effects and assemble seasoned legal team to battle it out in court.

Let me inform you that we are already in the raining season and that slow down Block making industry,i will advise you hold on to that teaching job till probably the dry season period and invest that money on something that is of less risk which can at least pay some of the interest on the loan

I don't know what the two jobs are, but I can tell you for free that 120k job in Ibadan is far better than 150k job in Lagos in terms of standard of living.

You may however need to look beyond that, most of the jobs in Ibadan are branch level jobs (the head offices are in Lagos), meaning that, two people starting their career on the same day in Lagos (HQ) and Ibadan (branch) will most likely not be on the same level in 24 months down the line. The guy is HQ would have gotten at least a promotion while you are still enjoying your 120K

Ask yourself again, what is the prospects of being at Ibadan after 5 to 7 years? How many job opportunities are in Ibadan compared to Lagos? Will it be easy to find a good manager level job in Ibadan in about 5 years time at least compared to Lagos?

Don't only think of today when choosing a new job, think strategically, you will thank me in years to come, I am telling you that from my over 20 years of experience!

Your 20yrs experience is differ from reality on ground,the reality on ground now means those in ìbàdàn would have achieved a whole lot in 2yrs.
There will be more than enough time for them to pursue Professional Certificate or Higher degree. University of Ìbàdàn,ife and Ìlọrin are few hour drive.

By the same 24months you projected those in ìbàdàn would have erected a modest building from the same salary while you are are will always struggle to raise ₦500k to pay for an average housing that doesn't comes with conveniences.

In the same 24 months, tendencies are higher that you would have developed health conditions ,least is High BP due to not having enough sleep or rest.

A worker in ìbàdàn will be far productive than you who live in Lagos,thus getting promotion as and when due.
