subsidy12: Pls asides from bank loan. Is there anywhere someone can borrow money for account statement purpose oh. Cos I don't have 3.5m for family if 4 currently. Any useful information will save a soulLet me asnwer your questions by asking you some pertinent questions: 1.Do you know how much it will cost your family (of 4 ) to travel to Canada in terms of flight ticket when you are eventually issued PRV? 2. Where do you hope to reside for the period of time when you move down to Canada and how do you intend to pay for the rent? 3. How do you hope to cope should you not secure ANY job for a long period of time? 4. What will be your contingency plan should your expectation not be met within the space of time that you project? 5. Should you be asked at the POE when you are landing (after being issued PRV) proof of settlement fund, how do you hope to demonstrate that you are economically established? |
benik: Thank you. I wanna also know if I must submit d Bsc with my final submission or just the ECA is requiredYou MUST submit all educational documents with which you secured your ECA result.Failure to do this is an express ground for application rejection. |
benik: Hello. Quick question pls. As adviced by Damkollins earlier that it is OK to Access MSc degree alone. When making final submissions to CIC. Is it just the ECA that is to be submitted or do I include other credentialsIt is ok to assess/evaluate your highest degree for now as you have limited time but like I'd always advise, you can include your Bsc/HND at a later date at minimal or no cost. Evaluation goes beyond just securing points for FSWP purposes. It is also necessary for certification in your profession/chosen province... |
Eni23: What applications are they checking now?Applications received between May 7th to May 14th,2014... |
Jalive: Thanks for the response.April 30th 2015 or when the cap limit of your eligible occupation is reached, whichever is earlier. |
Meritl: Thanks for the swift response. No need for affidavit once there's NPC attestation of birth. |
Jalive: Hi mate, is 1421 the number of people who applied in Nigeria out of the 25,000 slot? You need to open the link to understand and find answer to your question... Here's the link again http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/complete-applications.asp |
Meritl: Hello house. That is acceptable... |
Ekpekus1: Thank you so much for the response as this helped. @Solomonwis just a little personal question if u don't mind. How is your application coming up? I believe you applied last year? Any news from VO in Ghana?Everything is stalled for now in Accra....I am working on some alternatives though (and there are positives responses already). |
Ekpekus1: Hello Damkollin.Though addressed to @damkollins,let me help out. You will be informed at every stage of the application process to get in touch with your immigration office (visa office) should there be any change in your family composition (or any other change) that may impact on your application. This will not affect your chance in any way.It canonly affect you when you withhold the information until the last minute. |
gogochocolate: My application reached on the 13th of May. I was charged on the 11th of August from GTB alert. I learnt they is normally a day delay between when CIC charges my account and bank notification. I hope I am right my seniors. I used the UCI stated on my returned application from last yearYou will always see a shadow reflection of the charge in your account (where available balance will be different from book balance in your bank statement). There is always a time lag between when this is reflected in your account. Be rest assured your account has been charged and you will receive a PER soon. Let me warn however, that a charge on your account is not an absolute determinant of your receiving PER but it is a pointer that you will receive a PER soon. |
lillyadet: Pls does anyone know how to get bank certification from Gtbank? I was there on friday but they don't seems to understand what bank certification is. I explained to them, even showed them the format but the lady that attended to me typed reference letter for me instead. I rejected it anyway because it does not reflect my current account balance. I told her to include it but she said she would need authorization to do that and ofcourse I was asked to come back for it. And again, please do I need to address it to CIC in Canada or what since Gtbank said they can't put "TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN".You don't need to go through the hassle of bank certification letter, simply ask for a print out of your bank statement reflecting your account balance adequate enough to cover you and your accompanying (and non-accompanying) dependents. lillyadet: @cheers1234, I would have loved to but I can't cuz I just sold my car in order to meet up with the required POF as statement will indicate all my previous transactions. Please if der is anyone that has submitted his applicaion with bank certification letter, kindly assist on what to do. Thanks.Don't worry about transaction history for now, nobody will request for transaction history for now. You might not be asked the history so long as you maintain the required balance.. |
gogochocolate: Solomon thanks for the good job you and others are doing on this forum. My gtb master card was charged by CIC this week. I tried checking ECAS but could not find my records on the website. Is it only when I get my per that I can get updates from CIC website. Thanks for saving my lots of stress as my international passport expired before I was charged but was still valid when CIC received it.Congratulations! You will get update on your application portal (eCAS) soon. I am assuming you already have a UCI with which you checked for update...Can I also ask when your Card was charged? I understand people whose applications were received around May 9th,2014 are getting PER and are able to check their status. |
shabbey09: However, how come the Accra office is so slow? Does this mean that those of us submitting now won't get response until 2016? I thought the process is faster now and takes under a year to finish processing?Unfortunately,no one can provide explanation for the slow processing speed in Accra office (and some visa offices around the world too). I have at one point sent a mail to the Canadian Minister of Immigration and Citizenship on this issue and the response I got is reproduced below: Dear XXXXX XXXXXX XXXXXX: This is in reply to your e-mail of June 6, 2014, addressed to Mr. Chris Alexander, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, about application processing times in Accra. We realize that those who have submitted their applications look forward to a decision being rendered within a reasonable waiting period after applying. We make every effort to deal with the applications we receive in the most efficient and effective way. However, the many steps involved in processing an application, coupled with the volume of applications, sometimes make it difficult to conclude cases in as timely a manner as we would like. Maintaining the integrity of our immigration program is a priority of the Government of Canada. Individuals who want to live permanently in Canada must meet certain requirements which include medical, criminality and security clearances. These requirements exist to protect the interests and safety of Canadians. The onus rests on the applicant to prove that he or she has met the requirements for entry to Canada or that admission would not be contrary to legislative requirements. Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) conducts background checks by working together with partner agencies such as the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Canadian Security Intelligence Service, the Canada Border Services Agency, medical authorities and agencies of foreign governments. Background screening processes are non-discriminatory and universal in their application. Any delays or requirements that our partner agencies may require in providing input are something over which we have no control. In addition, background and medical examination results are usually valid for a 12-month period. Should background or medical clearances expire during the application process, the applicant is required to update their results. The need for further analysis of some cases by immigration and/or visa officials can also result in further delays. In addition, incomplete applications, failure to provide additional information, complexity of a case, difficulty in communicating with an applicant(s) or accompanying or non-accompanying dependant(s), postal or courier service delays, previous dealings with Canadian immigration officials, inadmissibility issues (criminality, medical condition) can contribute to processing delays. Multiple residences and/or employment, education, business dealings, or military service in different geographical areas, can also significantly delay the background clearance process. In this situation, clearances or verifications of documents must be obtained from different issuing authorities in many jurisdictions. Because of the variables involved, it is often impossible to predict the amount of time it will take to complete an application. CIC has finite resources to deploy throughout its extensive overseas network. Many visa offices have large caseloads that involve priority class applications and require sufficient allocations of CIC’s finite resources to ensure these cases are finalized as quickly as possible. Each visa office must deal with operational environments unique both to its role in CIC’s overseas program commitments and the realities of the region of the world in which they are located. This means that processing times for the same category of applications may vary within the CIC visa office network. Given the varying operational environments in different countries, comparisons between visa offices can be misleading. Processing targets for visa offices are set within a global management plan that incorporates the capacities of all PR processing visa offices within CIC’s overseas network. CIC continually reviews the configuration of its overseas network to ensure that its resources are deployed to maximize its ability to effectively serve our clients. CIC is committed to the equitable and transparent treatment of all PR applications, regardless of the origin of those applications. However, the resourcing and target levels for some visa offices must be balanced against the requirements of other visa offices in the CIC network. Information about processing times is published and regularly updated on the CIC Website at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/index.asp. Thank you for taking the time to write and express your concerns. Y. Levesque Ministerial Enquiries Division We can only hope for the best for now but you never can tell what can happen in the next few days.. |
shabbey09: Hello gurus, I have tonnes of questions:All applications are FIRST sent (by applicants) to the Central Intake Office(CIO) of Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) office in Sydney,Nova Scotia,Canada. Once your application has been adjudged eligible and scored the minimum required point, the application will be forwarded to the Immigration office (Visa office) you have indicated on your application form. Nigerians resident in Nigeria are expected to choose Accra visa office when filling the application and the processing will continue from there until it is concluded. |
jangirova: @ Solomonwise, the guy's (teejez) experience you shared. He is a September 2011 FSWP applicant...Accra is not attending to 2013 yet but hopefully they'd soon. |
charles316: I travelled to FUTA to get my PGD certificate only to discover that the school made mistake on my certificate. Silly mistakeIt is a dicey situation...Well,you've got to correct the certificate not just for the sake of applying for FSWP but for the sake of other things (that you might want to do with the certificate)that are equally important. I think in the meantime,do include a sworn affidavit stating that there was an error (mentioning the particular error) on your certificate and you have made effort to correct this by contacting your educational institution for an amendment. If possible, get a letter from your educational institution confirming that you have indeed brought to the institution's knowledge the error on your certificate and effort is being made to correct it (This might be a little difficult to secure given that the institution will not want to "market" it mistakes but you can still try). I would implore you to ensure that there's no repetition on your academic transcripts to be forwarded directly by the educational institution. This will give credence to the sworn affidavit and well as give opportunity for confirmation/authenticity with the educational institution. |
ANBAKO: Please how does this label suppose to be? Will a size of half of a A4 paper be ok?It is your normal label that is sticked to an envelope where you print your name and your address the address. You can always get this in a stationery store, just look/ask for address sticker/label and print your details on it. |
Meritl: Thanks Solo. Just to clarify; did your friend not send a correct amount for POF when submitting to CIO Sydney? (initial application) or is it that they needed a current bank statement. Or they went behind him to check his bank account after he visited Ghana.Well, not my friend..I just happened to be privy to this info... The thing is,this person sent a property valuation along with his application( He had part fund in liquid and he felt he could show the remaining as asset). The liquid fund was accepted (in the form of bank statement) but it was not up to the required amount for his family (because his property valuation that was supposed to make up the remaining balance was not accepted as proof of fund). |
tlamp: Hello house,1.You are not expected to send 2 self addressed envelopes but 2 self addressed LABELS. 2. The omission is nothing serious to warrant an outright rejection of your application, just remain positive... |
seunlovesa: Apart from shares, stocks, business investments, landed properties, etc..... What are other forms of assets that can be declared with respect to CIC FSW program? The below summarize it all: These funds could be in the form of: cash documents that show property or capital payable to you (such as stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills, etc.) or documents that guarantee payment of a set amount of money, which are payable to you (such as bankers’ drafts, cheques, travellers’ cheques or money orders). These funds could be in the form of: cash documents that show property or capital payable to you (such as stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills, etc.) or documents that guarantee payment of a set amount of money, which are payable to you (such as bankers’ drafts, cheques, travellers’ cheques or money orders). http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp |
seunlovesa: Regarding POF: what if a single applicant submits a bank statement showing easily transferrable unencumbered funds of $11824 right from date of submission to Nova Scotia and maintains same amount throughout AOR , medical request period etc .... Will the person sail through?Yes,the person will sail through (and that is the very essence of having to show proof of the fund). |
seunlovesa: @ Solomonwise: below is an excerpts from your response to merylit's question:The bold explains the basis for arriving at the amount considered sufficient for each family size to show as proof of settlement fund. This has already been calculated (and oftentimes changes with time and current economic reality). The amount is reproduced in this link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp You need not worry about the bold as it has already been calculated. |
ANBAKO: House..... Solo, Damkollins, Scrollmeout, technolee, Ferdimako and co.That must have been spambot, apologies for that... |
Meritl: Hello house. In respect to the PROOF OF FUNDS, I've got about 16,000 CAD in my account. I've also got a property also. Do i need to include a valuation of property as part of PROOF OF FUNDS at this stage of my application.Let me respond to this with somebody's very recent experience: teejeez:There's no need mentioning your aunt in your application as the very essence of that (point for adaptability) is not necessary. |
johnsontade: Ielts is General training. Just about to start my credential evaluation...plan to apply by december cos that is when my calculated work experience would clock 2yrs as I started working November 2012. Can apply for either Civil Engineer noc or Construction estimator noc cos my job description fits in for both occupations. In reference to the bold and at the risk of sounding pessimistic that December application date is way too far for that eligible occupation. I see a lot of people diverting from some occupations that will quickly reach the cap limit to that eligible occupation just so they can fill up the spaces available. So I'd say whatever you have to do,please do it quickly. This is however not to conclude that my projection/estimation is absolutely correct..The space might still be open up until the December that you wish to apply and if not,Express Entry will be starting in January 2015... |
cheedyH: Thank you Solomonwise. I hv my IELTS result already. The next step is to send my transcript and certificate to my assessing body right? Then after ward what's next? And how long do all these take? Thanks.Once you ascertain that you are eligible having done a self assessment where you have a minimum score point of 67,you can proceed further. Yes,you'd send your educational certificate to one of the approved assessing agencies and request your educational institution to send your transcripts directly to the agency of your choice. In between when you are waiting for your ECA result, please gather all the necessary documents ready to be dispatched to the Central Intake Office. Such documents include: 1. Your IELTS result (original copy) 2. Educational qualification (Photocopy of your Certificate and academic transcripts) 3. Birth Certificates of the principal applicant, spouse and children (both adopted and biological) (Photocopy) 4.All the applicable federal forms - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/skilled.asp 5.Proof of settlement fund 6.Work references relating to your eligible occupation 7.Proof of your relationship in Canada (Only if applicable) 8.Bio data pages of the principal applicant, spouse and children (both adopted and biological) 9.Application processing fee 10.All other documents that will prove your eligibility as listed in the checklist here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5612E.pdf You can read through the thread to better understand what was submitted by applicants/migrants as well as ask questions where you feel you need assistance. I wish you the best! |
cheedyH: Hello house, pls I am new to this thread. I have read some posts but I am still a little bit confused. I am physiotherapist. Anybody in the house who has done the ECA for this profession should pls put me through. Thank you.The process is the same for all eligible occupations with the exception of Physicians and Pharmacists. You can always ask any question that relates to the application process here as the process is the same for ALL ELIGIBLE OCCUPATIONS. |
yomifowe: Hello Goodmorning everyone,I know this has been responded to by damkollins but let me quickly respond to the bold. RPRF is to be paid when your application is at the edge of finalisation. If you are asking the question to come up with a budget,it cost CAD$490 each for the principal applicant and his/her spouse. (Since your post/question is suggestive of you being a prospective/potential applicant) I must warn that you should be less concerned about RPRF for now as you have a number of "other fees" that are extremely paramount. Such as your ECA fee, language proficiency test fee, application fee, cost of postage and logistics, etc. Please consider these fees first before all other fees. |
ojdollars: Hello Uncles and Aunties,1. That is dependent on a number of factors. In considering all the factors such as (i) Age (ii) Educational qualification(s) - The minimum required to apply is a Canadian (or equivalent) high school diploma. (iii) Work Experience (iv) Language proficiency verified through IELTS, CEP and/or TEF (v)Arranged employment (If applicable) and (vi)Adaptability 2. Every applicant irrespective of the country of origin/nationality is expected to show language proficiency (even if you obtain your educational qualifications in Canada). 3. She is not in a position to "convert" her associate degree by herself. WES (or any other assessing agency) will do that for her. That is why they are being paid afterall. She will be issued an ECA result which will show the Canadian equivalence of her qualification(s). She has to obtain a minimum of 67 score point to be deemed qualified and then she has to show she can adequately take care of herself by showing proof of unencumbered, readily accessible and available fund (Proof of fund). If at any point she needs assistance,a number of experienced people are here to offer help and assistance (by this I mean advice). |
subsidy12: hi see attached what i copied from CIC website. It is always advisable to send in ALL you educational qualifications when applying for ECA. However, given the fact that there is time constraint in sending all your qualifications at this time, sending in the highest qualification is the best way for NOW. You can always upgrade and send in your other credentials later at no cost if you meet certain stipulated guidelines (I know this to be true of WES). |
