hollaugo: Hello House. Great Forum for the FSW program. I only learnt of the program on monday, I have so far initiated the sending of my transcript to WES for validation. tried registering for IELTS unfortunately closest date is the 2nd of August in Abuja. Ill have to settle for that. My question is as regards two issues:What is your intended eligible occupation? 1. VERY required - this is a singular reason for rejection of many applications. Affidavit does not suffice in FSWP application. 2. The program runs between May 1st,2014 through to April 30th,2015. However there are caps for each eligible occupation presently pegged at 1,000 subject to a maximum of 25,000. The required amount is dependent on your family size. You can read more here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp Well,it is permitted at this stage to "deposit it at once" but you might (most times they do) be required to send a 12 month historical transaction of your bank statement. So be careful not to borrow this fund just to meet the requirement. It is expected that this fund will be available to you in liquid form at anytime during the processing of your application. |
suxes2005: Hello guys,This question has been asked and answered on here, take a moment to read back.It will answer your question and enlighten you more on those who have gone through that route. |
Hotstepper: Hello, hope everyone is fine. Please is c of o considered as part of proof of fund? And do 1 attach bank statements for past months or just a document to show u have that money. Also, Do one need to do background declaration for 6 months daughter? I can only see where it says for dependents over 18C of O is not acceptable as proof of settlement fund. You can attach bank statement showing the appropriate unencumbered fund for the past month (can be for the past days too) prior to your application. Background declaration is for dependents from 18 years and above. |
ANBAKO: What if the passport of any of my dependents (Son) is expiring in January 2015? Do they need to apply for another passport before I can submit my application? That is fine as long as you are not submitting an expired passport at the time of your application. |
Meritl: Oga Solo. I don dae plan marriage levels o. Gotta arrange something between now and August ending. Can't believe I'm coming back facing your suggestion. My Uncle just suggested similar solution.Yes,that is fine. Congratulations in advance! |
Eni23: Hi,Application received around May 7th and 8th are currently being processed by CIO of the CIC. You should get the status of your application in the next few weeks. |
unibadan: Hello all,You don't have to renew it before sending in your application. Your application is treated as valid as at the date of receipt. You can however make arrangement to renew the passport once your application has been forwarded. |
damkollins: Funny with barely 20 updates!yes funny but I suspect they are giving hope to everyone that they are working assiduously. |
Meritl: Please let it be at this rate o!!!!!! People like us still dae arrange documents;most especially now that Oga Solomonwis has said I should get married to my babe. ![]() I am positive you will meet the deadline if your occupation is not listed as one of the below: 1. 1112 Financial and investment analysts 2. 2174 Computer programmers and interactive media developers |
folaonhigh: Pls this noc 6411 sales and account representatives-wholesale trade(non tecnical) is it going to be availiable next year? And this is my job description preseller. Should it be related to sales rep for to be accepted? No one can say precisely if your occupation will be listed next year as listed occupations are determined by a number of factors, the most important determinant which is the need for skilled worker in that field in Canada. Also note that there will be an introduction of a new system called "Express Entry" similar to what you have with the Australian immigration system from January 2015. The main duties of your occupation is listed here http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=6411 You can read through to understand what your work reference should include if you work in that field and have the experience as stated/listed. |
ANBAKO: Solo, Thanks for your response above but unfortunately this has not answered my question.I don't have experience in translation of documents except of course with those embassies who have official translators in Nigeria but I do know there are official translators around Ikeja high court in Lagos. Maybe others in the thread can help out. You can also read up on the threads relating to this on NL (Germany,Ukraine,Norway, etc). |
ferdimako: So little...IELTS issues or no more canny interest?Of course applications received are much more than this. There are many unprocessed applications. |
UPDATE!!! Total received toward the overall cap: 505 of 25,000 http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/complete-applications.asp |
ANBAKO: House, I ran into a lil' confusion per form IMM5996E. Do I and my spouse need to complete separate forms? or do we jointly need to complete a form?Separate forms, one for each. |
ANBAKO: House, I have 6 document in a language other than English and French. What are the requirements for translating document to English Language? Can anyone apart from family members translate it? Must be translator be Certified? This is because I have friends who can translate the document correctly but they are not Certified Translators. Please go to ikeja (if you are in Lagos). There are translators around ikeja high court who would also notarize the translated documents for a fee. |
iykedare: By this you mean that I can just send my pgd and leave out the Hnd since my highest educational qualification is the pgd?Yes,for now as you don't have as much time on your side. |
tejuyussuff: Pls dear nairalander my family is applying for a family visit visa in uk my husband is working with fed. Min of defence and we av gotten all our necessary document. And we are going to submitt nextweek. Pls are we submitting all our application together or differently cos my husband doc. Is backing I and my son. Secondly pls though my brother in law is sponsoring us how much can we av in our bank statement.1. Your application is to be submitted together as a family. 2. As you are adults embarking on a trip with your family, your personal circumstances will be under scrutiny to ascertain whether you merit the visa or not. Your in-law being a sponsor will not cover your personal circumstances from being scrutinized so it is advisable you ensure you have all the necessary documentation/proof to show you will not be a public charge. Please post your questions here for better advise https://www.nairaland.com/823855/general-uk-visa-enquiries-part/189 |
folaonhigh: Hello nairaland, i have some question to ask.1.Your educational institution is supposed to send your transcripts to WES DIRECTLY at your request. Prior to this you must have registered on WES' website and obtained a reference number which has to be quoted on all correspondences between you and WES. You can track the progress of your evaluation on your application portal. Once evaluation is concluded, you will be sent your ECA result via regular post mail (except you opt for international express courier service which will cost you extra money). You will also be able to access your result online. Your evaluation result will be with WES for years and you can ask for upgrade for whatever purpose in the future. 2.You cannot change your job title. Apply under the same job title as it is now. However, you need to ensure your work reference(s) state your main duties and they align with the main duties of your eligible occupation. 3. Please approach the British Council office on details of how and where to register for IELTS. https://ielts.britishcouncil.org/ |
Meritl: Oga Solo see as you just dae talk marriage like say na beans!!!!! Chaii. ![]() It is not anything too difficult once you are psychologically and spiritually prepared. When you get to Canada the burden will be light, two heads are better than one you know. |
Meritl: Thanks Technolee.Get married to her! Common law partner/arrangement is alien to our culture. If CIO Nova Scotia doesn't know this, the Accra Visa Office Know this much. You will have a whole lot to prove. It is as good as going to a customary court for marriage even though it is not the same. |
yomfad: Dear Solomonwise, i have just made payment for my Bsc to be evaluated by WES before i saw FAQ about required documents from Nigeria where it was stated as follow :Please include your transcripts leading to the award of your Bsc and the certificate/educational qualification that earned you the direct entry. You don't need to ask your first educational institution to forward your transcripts directly. Just include the certificate/results that earned you the Bsc in the documents to be forwarded to WES. |
unibadan: I am at a cross road. With the score of IELTS to be 18, Education is 23, Experience is 15, Age, 12. This gives a total of 68. a point higher than 67. Will there be a slim chance for me to be selected for the score of 68 without asking my wife to do IELTS for additional 5 point. What you need to scale the hurdle is 67 points. Even if you score 100 points, you are at no advantage over the person who score 67. So,there is no need adding more to the points once you calculate your point well enough and you cross reference the calculation. |
Ekpekus1: Hello,Please read through the thread. This has been discussed over and over. You stand to benefit more reading the thread and gaining from other people's experiences. |
borgyv: hi, can somebody give me advice:Working in a family business leaves you to no disadvantage. You must however treat your work/relationship on the job as an employer-employee relationship. Working relationship must be defined and documented. Appointment letters, promotion letters, annual leave, pay stub/pay slips, confirmation letter, etc must be professionally documented as request may be made of them in the future. 1. Yes,you can for FSWP. 2. You don't need work reference from suppliers as you are not applying as self employed applicant. Like I stated earlier, your relationship with your husband's company must be formally documented just like every employees. Work reference must be provided like every employees. Bottomline, treat your relationship with the company as an employer-employee relationship. 3. Everybody applied as an employee of a company not minding who the promoters of the companies are. Few people apply as self-employed and the scrutiny with which their applications were subjected to is much more than a "skilled worker" employed by a company. |
iykedare: Hi guys, i need your opinion on this. Will I be eligible to apply for PR after a two year pgd program in civil engineering . Secondly what are my chances of getting a job there(Canada) with the pgd in civil engineering obtained in Canada. Can i work while I school? You will be eligible to apply after 2 years if you meet certain stipulated conditions/requirement. I should let you know your eligibility is dependent on the ever changing and dynamic immigration law of Canada and the need for your skills/expertise at the time. Securing a job as a student is not a too hard nut to crack but you must ensure not go work outside of the stipulated time limit. |
olasalamis: Good evening guys, i need adequate information about my concerns as stated below?1. It is advisable to provide all the work references from all the organisation you've worked for in the last 10 years. Even though the work reference relating to your eligible occupation is most important, the other work references will increase your score point under work experience if within the last 10 years. 2. Yes,you can submit separate applications but before the issuance of your visas (if both application is positively considered),one of you will be asked to withdraw the application for the other. 3.Once you are granted visa, you CANNOT stay within the country beyond the expiration date of your medical result as the principal applicant. |

You can answer the following questions to be able to ascertain if you meet the requirements: 1. What is your age? 2. How many years of work experience have you in your chosen field. 3. In what field/discipline is your work experience in? 4. What is your highest educational qualification(s)? 5. Have you attempted to write an English/French Language proficiency tests such as IELTS/TEF? 6. Do you have any relative in Canada? What is your relationship to this relative if any? 7. Did you at any time study in Canada? 8. Are you married? Can your spouse show/prove her language proficiency in English/French by writing IELTS/TEF? 9. Did your spouse study in Canada? 10. Can you provide proof that you have a settlement fund of a minimum of CAD$12,000(approximate) when required? If you can provide answers to the above, then we should be able to assess your eligibility. |
Meritl: Quite true. But the guy may have some things he'll want to relate with you. Safety though.Well like I mentioned, event on this forum in the recent past has not encouraged such private communication.
Hello House pls i need ielts practice tutorials too my email is shollygee@yahoo.com. Also i need clarification with my diploma, i hold an advanced diploma in electrical engineering(city and guilds of london institute). My concern is that city and guilds dont usally issue transcript of academic records though they will confirm that your diploma was issued by them. Will WES evaluate my certificate given this situation. Has anybody had a WES evaluation with any city and guilds diploma?
If it is anything that other members stand to benefit from,i'd rather you ask here openly. If otherwise, please you can go to my profile and send me a mail through nairaland. |
iykedare: SolomonwisYes you can send your highest educational qualification for evaluation. You don't necessarily have to send your OND qualification. As a matter of fact, the higher your educational qualification, the higher your score points under education. |
Ebenete: Hello Solo. Please I need to ask you some private questions and may please need your phone number so that I call for better verification.Event on this forum in the past does not and cannot encourage private chat/conversation if you have been an ardent follower before the hackers strucked. Besides,it does not encourage continuity as well as enlightenment which the thread is meant for. I would therefore implore you to ask the questions here and conceal as much personal details as possible so others can learn. I do hope you understand. |
Ebenete: Hello House. I just got my WES verification in a white envelope. Can I open it, or just leave it inside and submit it sealed. The envelope contains 2 ECA results, one is for you and the other is to be sent along with your application. So,you need to open the envelope. |
technolee: My members, do I need a police clearance certificate for myself alone or it includes my family members too? I don't seem to understand the instruction here because none of them would be going to Canada with me.You need PCC for everyone (spouse, children and adopted children above the age of 18 years) whether they are accompanying you to Canada or not. |
