zeelo2014: Thank you. But kindly break this further. Are u saying the duties listed out for a NOC shud be less than or at least half of what is written on your reference letter? Cos my Previous ref letter, only about 6 duties were outlined for me and they match some of the 14 listed out. I.e ref letter must cover more than NOC outlined? I'm thinking of adding the managerial aspect of my job to my previous reference letter. It doesn't have to cover ALL the main duties listed in the NOC but a substantial part. 51% of your work reference SHOULD match (not verbatim) the NOC as listed. Even if you listed 5 and 51% of the 5 main duties match your NOC main duties, then you are covered. |
zeelo2014: hmm. interesting. NOC 0711 fits my job description fine but I have a different job title not listed as one of the examples of titles under that NOC. Will that fly?Your job title has little or no impact on your eligible occupation (Even though I don't encourage a wide disparity).... 1. There's no problem with getting another reference letter from your company's HR but you have to be mindful of projecting yourself as desperate or trying to scale the hurdle at all cost (even though you should make all legitimate effort to do so). Once you are sure there are some main duties that have not be outlined in your work reference, you can ask your HR for an all encompassing work reference (this time with all of the main duties). I must warn here that there's an unwritten rule (or so it seems) applied when a reference letter carries more duties that might qualify you for more than one eligible occupations. HRSD uses a 51% rule - The main duties of your chosen eligible occupation should be a minimum of 51% of the work reference. 2. As explained above. 3.You can get another TRF following the procedure specified by the British Council (I believe @damkollins explained the procedure already). 4. There's nothing wrong with that. I wish you luck! |
ayofissy: thanks so much for the info i never knew both of us can apply as principal applicants. but how easy is it to drop her application later and i hope it wont be seen as a "fraud"It is not a fraud. As a matter of fact,an applicant can apply for 2 eligible occupations during the same (and different) intake.. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=864&t=6 |
ayofissy: thanks so muchOther than the application cost (IELTS, ECA,application fee, etc), you stand to benefit more if both of you apply at the same time. If at anytime during the process, you find that you stand a better chance than your spouse or vice versa (in terms of the time and resources) ,you can ask her to drop her application while you proceed with yours. It is true that Medical Doctors have a long way to go in terms of securing an ECA result for obvious reasons. The medical profession is not one that anybody can dabble into especially coming from a "3rd world country" as Nigeria. There are lot of hurdle to scale through and considering the fact that it takes an average 105 days **to process an ECA under the profession unlike the average 30 days** for other eligible occupations including Nursing. You can read up for more here http://mcc.ca/repository/educational-credential-assessment/ **These are conservative projections. It usually takes more than the days specified on the website. |
Klem28: Please what is the place of a lawyer? Under what occupation can a lawyer apply? It depends on the main duties of the lawyer. It will help if you give a detailed main duties of the lawyer in question. |
cheers1234: Hi guys,Yes,please include the international passport of all your dependents and other details (either accompanying or not). |
F4fola: Greetings...please if am to apply as a Registered Nurse do i need to do credential evaluation for degree in Nursing or Registered Nurse certificate or both? Kindly send IETLS reading materials to folumeye@yahoo.com...thanks!Both will be just fine. |
UPDATE!!! Total received toward the overall cap: 555 of 25,000 http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/complete-applications.asp Updated on July 28,2014 |
princessayinke: hi all, i applied for my transcript and certificate to be evaluated by wes; for two months now the status of my application has been 'waiting for verification from institution'. and its delaying my application. the annoying thing is wes has no good customer care, you cant contact them. what can i do? chopinsn: Try to confirm from your institution that your transcript has been forwarded to WES,if they have, what type of postage did they use(courier or Normal post). These may be one of the causes of delay.Mine did not take more than 3weeks.In addition to what @chopinsn wrote, please send a mail to contactca@wes.org seeking for update...They respond faster when you send a mail to the email address provided. |
Meritl: Hello House. I have only been able to get the payslip from one of the companies I worked for. I have worked with two companies and was only able to get the payslip for the company I currently work with. Will there be any consequence if I submitt for only one of these companies.Where payslip is not available, you can include a copy of your employment, confirmation of employment or promotion letter where your annual/monthly salary is mentioned. You can highlight the part where your remuneration is mentioned. This will stand as evidence of salary earned. If your work reference letter explicitly state how much your salary is,you need not worry about providing a payslip. |
zeelo2014: lol. What's going on here oo. CIC keep up the slow pace.Nice one! |
ferdimako: Put up ur IELTS score! My many times my money. I go to any thread I like. Check me at NOUN thread. Some u have driven are in DELETED..Go collect hugs from oz thread owner. .... |
Now I see why some people jump at Australia at one point, jump at Germany at another point,Canada at yet another time and struggle with IELTS at another point...They are just looking for the easy way out....It doesn't come cheaply! It comes with a whole lot of sacrifices, hardwork and honesty! Honesty pays! That's why we are where we are, always looking for the easy way out...There's no easy way out,if you don't do what is required now,it is never going to fall in place now or in the near future. I see CIC processing more applications this week and I see Accra responding to 2013/2014 applicant in the first week of August,I am quite optimistic about this..Fingers crossed though... |
justwise: @solomonwisIt won't,that I promise...Thanks! |
ANBAKO: Solo, House,Yes,you have to complete one for yourself as the principal applicant and another for your wife as principal applicant with all the details as required. |
ANBAKO: House,You have to have a GT Bank domiciliary account and then you can walk in to their Oyin Jolayemi's Branch to raise the bank draft. |
@ritaliciously I am responding as you have requested but I will not respond in the manner that you have asked...This is for the benefit of those who stand to be misled by your vituperation.. Proof of funds – Federal skilled workers You must show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family after you get to Canada. You cannot borrow this money from another person. You must be able to use this money to pay the costs of living for your family (even if they are not coming with you). You will need to show proof to the Canadian visa office in your home country that you have enough money when you apply to immigrate. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp |
![]() Yeye dey smell... I am solomonwise (not justwise)....No wonder there's confusion.. ![]() I have not insulted anyone,I have been preaching people follow the guidelines strictly.I have said (and I repeat and will continue to shout at the roof top),cutting corners (and a display of such in public) will lead you nowhere good....I have said people who cut corners should not come on here to encourage others to do likewise as it has a spiral effect of affecting everyone's chance especially from Nigeria. Who knows whether the reason for the delay in fast processing of applications from applicants in Africa is as a result of the discovery of this brag about circumventing processes in a public forum and getting away with it? Who really know the reason behind the delay. The indians will not encourage such in a public forum, why are we Nigerians doing the same? It is such public display of such denigrating act that will make it difficult for applicants from Nigeria in the near future because they'd have reason to believe everyone is like that. Just as it is in real life,so it is here...You can choose to disagree with anyone but to commit suicide in disagreement is the mother of stupidity. If anyone feels offended because I have disagreed with them over one thing or the other and decide to go into hiding, such a person need re-examination. Truth is life continues.... Don't cut corners, don't encourage others to do it on a public forum...It will lead you nowhere good. |
For those who were lucky enough to be selected as one of the 250 applicants under SINP without job offer, here's a response I got from the SINP Manager after raising my concern about SINP losing most of its applicants to FSWP (and this is through my observation over the last 3 months) as a result of the slow processing rate of the program: Please accept my apology for being late to get back to you, and thank you for your interest in the SINP. As you mentioned, we accepted 250 applications from International Skilled Worker category applicants in 2014 who did not have employment offers. The Government of Saskatchewan is interested in increasing immigration to the province to address critical labour shortages. As we have a limited number of nominations that can be made through the SINP, we have been encouraging eligible applicants to utilize federal immigration programs. We believe that use of federal programs will help us to attract a higher number of immigrants to Saskatchewan to help address economic needs. However, we believe that it is not an efficient use of government resources, federal or provincial, for both levels of government to process applications from the same individuals. Although we are not able to prevent applicants from applying to other programs, we strongly recommend/request that applicants who have applied to federal programs withdraw their application from the SINP, or vice versa. We will monitor the program to see if there is wastage of nominations. If this is the case, we will assess whether program changes are warranted. It is important to note, that the SINP’s strategic priority is to prioritize applications from high skilled workers with employment offers, in order to expediently address labour shortages via immediate attachment to the labour market upon the nominee’s arrival. You may be interested to know that our processing times have improved over the past year and will continue to decrease over 2014 and 2015 due to changes implemented in 2013 and 2014. The Saskatchewan Experience Category had faster processing times in Quarter 4, 2013-14 compared to the year before, for all sub-categories (the current average is 3.3 months). Processing times have also decreased over the past three quarters for International Skilled Workers. Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. David |
pickabeau1: Your instance does not apply as it was a short term interventionMany thanks.. Maybe people will understand better with what you just wrote..... CIC says don't borrow....There can be a better way to raise money other than "borrowing". I do hope genuine people will avoid costly mistake such as is being encouraged with grave consequences |
ritaliciously: @solomonwise, i perfectly understnd wat tranquill is saying. U dont need to act all rigid. I for instance, borrowed some money to add up and av since paid it back while building my acct at the moment. So if u have someone that can help wif funds, who says u cant borrowCan you put up your real name here if you are bold enough to make CIC know this much that you did? Why encourage people to cut corners when you should encourage them to seek better options? What encouragement are you giving to people who can genuinely raise this money without raising an eyebrow? You are telling them there's an easy way out which of course is a flagrant flouting of the law and you are "wise" enough to come on public forum and brag about it... So your definition of working smart and not hard is to cut corner and declare it on a public forum? You need to be friend with your dictionary man! |
exxy: please house,if after processing your skilled worker lottery and you dont succeed, would they refund your money back ?1. FSWP is not a lottery. 2. Once you obtain a PER (after your documents have been assessed) and for any reason your application was returned afterwards, you can not get a refund. In other words,a refund is only possible at the CIO initial assessment stage. |
Eni23: Hi,The bitter truth is,your colleague does not merit a positive assessment as he/she did not meet the requirement as specified by CIC. Do not be encouraged to go against stipulated guidelines, those who went that way have always had bitter stories to tell in the end. Those who "escape" by a stroke of luck are the ones who come back to tell a sad story of how their sojourn went in Canada because "All day is for the thief and one day is for the owner" ![]() People who circumvent the process come back to tell a bitter story when others are making it big in Canada..You know why? They think they will always go free doing that but they end up disappointed. |
Tranquill: Keep wishing. I know your type in the real world. Your attitude is well documented. Well documented? ....Biko where are you taking the document(s) to, FBI, EFCC abi CIC? Abeg repent of your ways and don't come here rubbing it in the face of CIC that you can get away with falsehood... |
pinchocreamy: Hello,Listening 7.5 writing 6.5 reading 7.5 speaking 8.0. Please,what point?You can check here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/language-testing.asp |
Tranquill: What I am insinuating? Well.......that community effort is not a crime and that not everyone is 'wis' and a multibillioniar like you. I am also insinuating that you are a fake and pretender. Also, that it is wrong to keep deceiving people like you seem to take pleasure in doing e.g. When you were scamming people with the notion that they will get 4 points from nowhere. ![]() I know how many people have gone down that lane.......I won't go there with you... Come to think of it,do you know the meaning of "scamming people"? I wish I know your real identity so I can make you feel a little of my multi-billion in court...! ![]() I really wish I know your real identity so I can tell CIC what your intentions are..... ![]() |
Tranquill: Anyone can write anything on nairaland. CIC can not and WILL NOT contact the bank directly to know how much you have in your account. Banks can not give your account information to a third party. Even if you are under criminal investigation, any government agency that want to access your account must have a court warrant/order be it CIA, FBI etc. What CIC can do apart from requesting that u submit an updated proof of fund, is to take the statement of account to the bank to verify its authenticity. What are you insinuating here? Asking people to be fraudulent? Asking people to borrow funds (and declaring it on a public forum) as against the clearly stated instructions? Do you make the rules or CIC? What exactly are you going to Canada for if you want to tell lies all the way and then declare it boldly on a public forum like this? How much do you know about people who have gone through that route?Only a foolish man argue with experience! Even if you don't believe what people write, don't you believe in simple, crystal clear, stipulated instruction that the funds cannot be borrowed? I pray people who try to cut corners get caught and I pray people who encourage others to circumvent the process keep dreaming until reality dawn on them.... We can't carry a mentality of cutting corners and build a virile nation (and we do it with so much impunity coming to a public forum to encourage such)! What happens when and if CIC official sees such audacity in display.....? If you don't have what it takes steer clear and don't encourage people to circumvent processes.... Does this not show what such people will be going to Canada to do? How won't such people rot in jail? Follow the instructions (and learn from experience) but no,you will circumvent the process and encourage others to do it in a public forum (that is just a search engine away from CIC officials). I hope people like this won't blame anyone for anything in the country because they have no moral justification to do so especially when they are championing the course...! |
borgyv: so would you say that I can make the affidavit, afterall I have nothing to hide, our school is real the one translating it. Can you clarify solomonwiseYou can go right ahead and prepare the affidavit, that is all that is required for now... |
For the benefit of all, please read the below and learn....I won't stop shouting at the roof top... almaliki: lol.....a lil comic relief on d thread eh....... |
You must show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family after you get to Canada. You cannot borrow this money from another person. You must be able to use this money to pay the costs of living for your family (even if they are not coming with you). You will need to show proof to the Canadian visa office in your home country that you have enough money when you apply to immigrate. There's a life experience of somebody on this forum(you can read the previous thread if you like),whose application was turned down on the basis of (amongst other reasons) proof settlement fund... http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp Need I say more? |
ferdimako: All I know is if u fix deposit...it's only d maturity date that matters. No cash flow! For Oz, it is pretty straightforward... esp subclass189, no settlement fund or evidence is required. We borrow to study, marry and even to settle and live.It is clear that is all you know(and unfortunately you have no knowledge beyond all you know) and that is why experience will teach you all you don't know... |
ferdimako: He didn't tell me to borrow. I figured that out myself....since no cash flow required....FD could be it for some folks.Unfortunately, CIC sets the rules and the skilled workers have to follow if truly and indeed they want to move to Canada. It takes a whole lot of sacrifices for people to move down to another country. If Canada is magnanimous enough to offer permanent residence to skilled workers all over the world, skilled workers should be able to be magnanimous enough to follow the rules, play the game by the rules. Again, let me correct the popular fallacy that there's "...no cashflow required.." Cashflow will be required at a later stage! It will be emotionally traumatic to discover this when hopes are high and you are rest assured all is well with your application. (Ask people who almost scaled the hurdle and were told at some point, few meters away from the issuance of the PR,that they are not qualified). They stand to lose a whole lot in terms of resources and wasted time.To cap it all up,it is really traumatic... By the way, what happens to applicants who apply to Australia who have to pay over N1 million just for application fee? Do they have to borrow this too when they are not rest assured that they will be issued the visa? Bottom line is,if you must participate abide by the rules! You don't have what it take to move down, stay clear! Why?It is not worth the effort when you know you might get caught, your records in is their system and you will probably be on the watch list... |
