I would advise you do all you can to ensure you score a very high band in each of your language abilities. Your chance of being selected is relatively high as a result of your eligible occupation having less applicants sending in applications.

You cannot claim any point for adaptability because your cousin does not fall under the category and definition of relatives in Canada (Not minding whatever proof you have to establish this relationship). To claim points under adaptability,relatives in Canada must be one of the below:

You, or, if it applies, your spouse or common-law partner, have a relative, either a

parent,
grandparent,
child,
grandchild,
child of a parent (sibling),
child of a grandparent (aunt or uncle), or
grandchild of a parent (niece or nephew), who is
living in Canada
18 years or older and
a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

This is strictly so because "relatives in Canada" points has been abused in the past.

So,I'd advise you focus on your IELTS and send in your credentials for evaluation as soon as possible.

No news yet but I suspect almost all applicants will get MR at about the same time when they are ready. Unfortunately,some from other visa offices are preparing to land in Canada soon while others are half way through their applications.

I think there must be an explanation/reason behind this seeming ineptitude from the Accra Office of the CIC.

needful: House pls, a friend of mine had 3rd class and he is preparing for this year FSWP. His problem is, if he apply for WES evaluation, do u think his degree will be equal to canadian degree since he has a Nigerian 3rd class.

The only person/people that can answer question is WES. Ask your friend you forward his educational credentials to WES for evaluation. Evaluation for FSWP is not on the basis of class of degree but on the basis of equivalency.

I don't think it is necessary opening up a new thread for Saskatchewan provincial nominee program. Only 250 people will be nominated worldwide and so the nomination and application procedure may not take forever to necessitate opening up a new thread. As a matter of fact, people here can benefit from the experience of provincial nominee program applicants.

This is my thought though, it is not binding on anyone who feels otherwise.

There' no application fee for Saskatchewan provincial nominee program until a nomination certificate is issued.

Once you are charged,it is as good as you already have a PER. I think you should wait for the next 2 weeks,If you don't get any form of communication from them,then you can communicate with CIC regarding the status of your application.

This is unbelievable!

I am beginning to doubt you actually stepped your feet out of the soil of this country! You are making standard of living comparison with bunch of banana ,titus and screw driver?!Now if you get a room for free in Lekki, the security you put in place with the cost,the fueling of your Generating set, the borehole maintenance, the man hour lost in traffic, the kickback you have to give to be able to get your life going, the fact that you have to run to the UK or any other developed country just so you can get quality medical attention, the number of mouth you have to feed because you are now made (as people who live in Lekki are viewed) not to talk of the fear you live in as a result of the precarious security situation in the country (You can only have this fear when you've been attacked by armed robbers before). Now, put all those into quantitative terms,add it to your free accommodation and tell me what you arrive at.

For your information, my first degree was in Economics ( and you don't need to study economics to understand this basic). By any standard, you cannot compare the UK to Nigeria. Welfare Economics is key. The standard of living is hinged on so many premises, one of which is the average life span of the common man as a result of the welfare programs put in the place by the government. Can you compare that by any standard between Nigeria and the UK (even with your analysis of eating point and kill and drinking beer? ). You don't need all the billions in your account and flex and show to your neighbor he's less human (like a typical Nigerian will do).

Please if you must disprove my points,come up with facts,not some rudimentary economics of point and kill,beer,titus and screw driver!

rudedough: Sir, you're still living in self denial. I gave a ratio example of 4:1 which means that the cost of living in the UK is approximately 300% above that of Nigeria.

Examples are:

A star and flat screw-driver in the UK cost N200, in Nigeria its N50 - Increase by 300%

A Bunch of banana that would cost N100 in Nigeria cost about N600 in the UK - An increase of 500%

Titus Fish that i usually buy in Lagos for N80-N100 sells for N550 in the UK - Increase of over 400%.

I could get a room self contain on the mainland in Lagos for about 200k a year meanwhile 200k can only rent me a studio apartment for only 3 months in the UK. And I haven't compared Utility.

In that sense, if you earn N1000 Naira in the UK and another man earn N200 in Nigeria, you both will be affording the same quality of life. So stop living a lie and curb that ego sir.

The enlightenment is in the link you posted earlier. You quoted an average salary of stock broker,£40,473,£24,000-£25,000,£71,000 – £150,000. Need I say more?

You are about to start a blind argument! Do you know the meaning of average income? It doesn't mean there's a ceiling with what you quoted. He's not giving false hope (and I can attest to that). Moreover,who says they have to keep a single job to be able to earn what he quoted?


You shot yourself in the leg when you said the bolded is unlikely yet you quoted an average of "£40,473,£24,000-£25,000,£71,000 – £150,000" for stockbrokers!

cute2014: Thanks for your prompt reply.They said that the application was received by CIC in August 11th 2011 under 'Medicine'.The letter shown to my friend was the medical request ans RPRF and police Certificate.The letter was sent from CIC thru their Accra office.The agents filled the forms in their presence using the agents' office e-mail address to help follow up.

The letter said smth like failure to send the requested documents within 60 days of their writing the letter could result in refusal of the application.I hope the above clarifies the highlighted parts.

Nothing ventured,nothing gained. Ask your friend to send a mail to the CIC requesting the status of the application stating that you got info recently about providing some document and hope it is not too late to do so.

It is a difficult case really but it is not an entirely bad case.

Aim for band score 7.0 in each of the language abilities.

When you write your Language test and the result comes out, then you will know how many points you get.

To be able to attend to your query you need to ask your "friend and spouse" to clarify the highlighted parts above.

When exactly is the "sometime ago"? under what eligible occupation?

Who sent them the mail "received and dated Oct 21"? who filled the forms for the applicants and what email address did they fill on the form?

who informed them that there's a "60 day time frame"

You are getting it all twisted. Your score band in each of the language abilities will determine your CLB. If you give your score band in each of the language abilities mentioned earlier, your CLB and invariably your score points can be determined.

The minimum language threshold (Canadian Language Benchmark) you must attain in each of the language abilities is CLB 7.

It depends on the score band in each of the language abilities{I.e. Speaking,Writing,Reading & Listening}

1. The IELTS is not valid. The validity of IELTS for Canadian migration expires 2 years after the issuance of the result.
2. Friends in Canada especially in the province being considered will suffice for provincial nominee program.
3. There's no extra point for being married.

It is not a must....That's what makes this flexible. As long as you score 60 points out of 100 points on the point assessment grid, you are qualified.

You are awarded points on the basis of five (5) factors:

• Education and Training (23 Points Maximum);
• Skilled Work Experience(15 Points Maximum);
• Language Ability(20 Points Maximum);
• Age; (12 Points Maximum) and,
• Saskatchewan Labour Market and Adaptability (30 Points Maximum)


"..............International Skilled Worker Category

The International Skilled Worker Category is for skilled workers who want to work and live in Saskatchewan. This category enables the SINP to nominate individuals with high human capital that have the education, experience, language and adaptability to economically establish and successfully integrate into Saskatchewan’s communities. Criteria include:
•The point rating system focuses on employment offers, education, work experience, language ability, and family connections, among other factors. The points available for persons with family connections in Saskatchewan are higher than the former Skilled Worker Category (i.e. points for family connections can account for 20% of points).
•Applicants must have a minimum language score of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4, as demonstrated by a SINP-approved language test. CLB 4 is the minimum; employers and regulatory bodies may require higher language scores.
•Applicants whose occupational education and work experience is in a regulated profession or compulsory apprenticeship trade will be required to obtain the appropriate Saskatchewan licensure to be able to work in that profession. To see if the occupation is regulated in Saskatchewan, go to Is my occupation regulated?. Proof of eligibility for Saskatchewan licensure from the regulatory body will be required as part of the SINP application.
•Applicants that do not have an approved job offer are required to have proof of settlement funds and must submit a settlement plan.
•The SINP will accept 250 applications in 2014 from applicants without an offer of employment whose high skilled occupation is in demand in Saskatchewan. These occupations must have “good” or “fair’ employment prospects as per Saskatchewan’s Detailed Occupational Outlook (2013-2017). The list of eligible occupations has been updated as of December 23, 2013.

The International Skilled Worker Category sets a clear focus on the SINP’s priority to nominate skilled workers with the greatest ability to economically establish in the province. This is done through the points rating system which maintains a strong emphasis on employment in Saskatchewan and family connections and increases emphasis on key labour market attachment factors including education, work experience, language and age.

I still feel your sister is a target of some sinister motive of some people.

That occupation (if that's what she's being considered for) is not on the shortage occupation list in the UK (under Tier 2 - General), hence securing a work permit will be a cry for the moon.

Again, if the employer is willing to "...pay half of the work permit fees and air ticket fee.." They should go the extra mile, explaining how your sister can secure a work permit.

Tell your sister, there are more than a million people qualified for that occupation in the UK, why on earth will they come to the depth of Africa to employ somebody?

Scammers have gone berserk and will do anything and everything to scam people including organizing an interview and building websites to give "legitimacy" to their nefarious act.

Your sister is a target!
