Though I'm not impressed with OP's use of 'ogbonge inglis' as well as the condescending comparisons, I have to agree with him on the matter. Wallahi like he said, even in a bunch, peeps like to flaunt the 1 car key, using it atimes like a sixth thumb. The 1 that irritates me is those that twirl it around esp if its one of these remote keys. And in the face of online bashing, ladies are unfortunately the culprits here.

CelebritiesBritney Spears To Convert To Islam by Somatic(op): 9:30pm On Mar 06, 2012
Britney Spears Turns To Islam For Pakistani
Boyfriend Adnan Ghalib , !!
Britney Spears is planning on becoming a
muslim. She has been telling pals how much
she loves her paparrazo boyfriend Adnan
Ghalib and that she’s intent on marrying him
and converting to his faith, Islam. Britney has
even been threatening to fake her own death
to start a new life with him in Pakistan. And
this week she told one of Adnan’s cousins in an
astonishing phone call: “I love him.” Giggling,
she added: “Don’t worry, I’ll look after Addy the
Daddy.” And now – due to Ghalib’s recent
actions, his respectable Sunni Muslim family in
Birmingham have disowned him. A family
member told Britain’s News of The World
newspaper: “His parents Ghalib and Saghra are
devastated. This week his dad gave him an
ultimatum, ‘Give up Britney, or you are dead to
me,’ which Adnan ignored.”Instead, in a phone
call to a relative, the photographer claimed he
had deep feelings for the 26-year-old mother of
two, insisting they had discussed marriage. It
was during the same call, Britney grabbed the
phone to insist: “We’re taking care of each
other. He’s the only one who understands me.
It’s serious.” Britney also invited Adnan’s
family to visit them in the US when her current
troubles, such as Monday’s court case, are
over. A source close to Britney said: “Monday’s
court hearing is D-Day for her and the kids.
While she’s been swanning around with Adnan,
Kevin’s been preparing for the court showdown
to end them all. He has no confidence in her
ability to look after either herself or the
children.” Ghalib’s claims to be in love with
Britney appear to be in keeping with his
carefully crafted plan to make a fortune out of
her.
Could Britney be screwed over this one, as
well?

Oga spyder, as one of the Nicodemuses in this class, I really want to commend yhur efforts in handling yhur project(s) as well as appreciate yhur invaluable help to ongoing builders make the right choices at the most affordable cost as well as giving prospective homeowners hope to someday build. I pray that yhu'll hav more than enough funds to complete this project and mayB kickstart another that the learning may go on. Good work.

And as regards the wall tiles, if I'm not too late, I strongly recommend option B. The earthen brown color will complement yhur paint job and roof. And being of a lighter shade, it will not easily or noticeably fade.

PoliticsIs The Acf "justifying" The Boko Haram? by Somatic(op): 9:57pm On Feb 10, 2012
Stumbled upon this article and I thot to share as it does indeed raise salient issues on the BH wahala.

ACF wrongly repackaging Boko Haram
FRIDAY, 10 FEBRUARY 2012 00:00 ONYEBUCHI
ONYEGBULE
The Arewa Consultative Assembly (ACF) is supposed to be the voice of all North. Before speaking for someone, you must know him; otherwise you speak in error. Tambuwal speaks for the House and knows it; Mark speaks for the Senate and knows it; ACF is speaking for Boko Haram but says it doesn’t know it.
Why then speak for people you don’t know, or do you relish speaking in error?

Read: ‘The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) said the
Boko Haram ultimatum to Southerners living in the
North to quit is a response to a similar threat from
the South-south to Northerners’. (TheNation:2/2/12).
Who told ACF that Boko’s ultimatum is in response to South-south’s call? You get briefed before going
public with such assertion. Who briefed it? Being the custodian of north’s socio-cultural interests, why
didn’t it report the purported South-south’s
misdemeanour to FG but waited till Boko’s
ultimatum, then turned around to explain the killer-
group’s action? If one is instructing and another is
explaining, then it begins to look like a teamwork
where duties are shared.
It even went further to urge the ‘Federal Government to publicly commit itself to guaranteeing the security of leaders of the Boko Haram sect when they come out for dialogue’, and further reminded FG of UN resolution 1963, which urges governments around the world to address underlying causes of civil unrest
and social conflicts, rather than resort to hard
military power’. Inference: government is not trusted, so it must ‘publicly guarantee’. Question is, did ACF publicly guarantee the security of people slaughtered in cold blood in its enclave? What it’s saying is that Jews should publicly guarantee the safety of Hitler when he comes out for dialogue; Musoveni the security of Idi-Amin; Cambodia the security of Pol-Pot; or the United States the security of Osama bin Laden when they come out to dialogue. If security had been an issue before ACF, why has the rest of Nigeria been crying over north’s relative muteness in the face of Boko’s pogrom? Or is ACF coaching Nigerians on how to reward terrorism? All we hear is the high-handedness of security forces as though nothing took them there. Is ACF aware of the motive of Boko?
Read: ‘People underrate us but we have our sights set on [bringing Sharia to] the whole world, not just Nigeria.’ Qaqa. Is this ‘civil unrest’ or Jihad?
Read too: ‘I enjoy killing anyone that God commands me to kill the way I enjoy killing chickens and rams.’ Qaqa. These are the people ACF wants the government to guarantee their security ‘before they come out to dialogue’. One more thing ACF: a red carpet for terrorism. People accuse Jonathan of weakness just for being temperate; now that it’s looking like ‘we can hit and spite you’, there must be a show of bone in the flesh.

Terrorism is no ‘civil unrest’ - ACF’s tone-down for it.
The climax of civil unrest is riot; the climax of
terrorism is mindless destruction. They’re worlds
apart. The government should tell ACF that it
understands the difference. It advised government to uncover the true identity of these people, to be able to determine their demands or grievances and
address those that may be genuine and in
accordance with our laws’. Wrong. In the South-west, a pressure group called the OPC didn’t go killing people and committing mass murder just to make a point. Besides, they showcased points-men:
Fasheun/Adams. MEND didn’t engage in mass
murder to publicise its obvious deprivation. Besides,
they had Okah/Asari/Tompolo. In the East, MASSOB
doesn’t kill at all. Theirs lies in the power of
persuasion via symbolisms. Besides, they have
Uwazuruike. OPC said, ‘don’t alienate us’, Nigeria
gave them the presidency. MEND said, ‘don’t exclude us’, Nigeria gave them the residency. MASSOB is saying, ‘don’t marginalize us’, and all are waiting to see what Nigeria will do. Now Boko says, ‘we want to Islamize Nigeria’. Besides, they have nobody, only ghosts. While the rest engaged in agitations, Boko opted for fundamental, ethno-religiously tilted structural change, careless of others and pursuing it through mass murder, despite the fact its section has had the biggest chunk of the power-quotient in
project Nigeria.

It’s the duty of ACF to identify/articulate the
grievance of its people. It is its duty to fish out Boko-Haram, invite FG and the rest of Nigeria to help clip it. To tell FG to do that and sit back to judge the military’s high-handedness is nothing short of subtle mischief. It’s after these that it can speak and Nigeria will listen. It should be careful; its recent utterance shows streaks of sympathy for Boko. If it continues this way, the Middle-belt may rightly seek its separate voice; others too, and that’s justifiable.

From what I have read here, no baby was sold. The money in question was as the girl put it, to sustain her until she could find her feet. Afterall, she did promise to repay the debt and collect her child. A widow was willing to help and peeps are online spewing rubbish and casting aspersions on tribes. If the baby was dumped, they'd call the girl a heartless mother.  Really #smh on NLand these days.

Car TalkRe: The Journey With My Peugeot 605 V6 On Abuja - Enugu Highway On 30/12/2011 by Somatic(m): 9:29am On Jan 19, 2012
@Ikenna: I didn't mean to say the 504 2000 came with the same engine as the French made GL. Rather, its engine was similar to the PAN's GR and SR models. I was never much of a mechanic to dabble into engine sizes and capacities tho our drivers but emeka mechanic tesified to the power of dad's green car over the GR and best line.  My observation then stemmed from the most modern at the time and the fact that green car went to the mech than the others. Looking back now, I wish we still retained that 504. Its still running tho in bad shape. The other two, 1 auctioned off, dunno wherr the other is.
Car TalkRe: The Journey With My Peugeot 605 V6 On Abuja - Enugu Highway On 30/12/2011 by Somatic(m): 8:25am On Jan 19, 2012
@Siena: right on the money. Yhu kno yhur 504 well. Oddly enough, I preferred my dad's official PAN 504 GR with AC cold enough to crack lips. Looked more modern to me and I could control the radio unlike the 1977 GL that gave dad supreme authority over radio affairs. We used that car for school runs well.
The PAN 504 2000 GLS came in both S. Wagon and sedan, had those chunky bumpers, a peugeot inscribed spoiler at the rear(sedan), and in place of the small indicator/parking lights, those akin to the 505. They also came with fog lamps. The twin round headlamp frames were made black to complement the bumper. The wings had the badge "Best Line" giving it an all giving it an opulent feel and the windows were tinted a darker shade of brown. Full brown/black tint was optional and was mostly done aftermarket. There were slight modifications to the interior. 505 like front seats were standard as well as rear head restraints. The gear console was also modified to a more modern look. Never heard of or saw leather. Fabric (soft comfy velvet) came as standard. Options then included seat belts for rear passengers, electric(front only) windows, mounted stop lamp, hand racks (hope I got it right) amongst others. Shared similar engines wirh the 504 GL. Used widely by the FG as official vehicles for public officials and as pilot vehicles for convoys. Was marketed, sold and known as the "Best Line". What "tripped" me bout this ride was the unique sound when the AC was on. And the horn, Geez soft and sweet, almost seductive. No one makes horns like Peugeot (and maybe Benz). School run was lovely with this ride when dad was not to drop yhu off. The "effizy" was just too plenty in it.
Car TalkRe: The Journey With My Peugeot 605 V6 On Abuja - Enugu Highway On 30/12/2011 by Somatic(m): 1:36am On Jan 19, 2012
Have fond and not so fond memories of peugeot. Just like @siena, my dad owned a 1977/78 504 GL, the 1 with recessed headrests sans aircon tho. He loved that car to death and many times refused to use other vehicles in the house even tho the vehicle often took him to emeka mechanic and oga rewire. Remember how I warned (more like begged) him not to use the car to pick me up from school (heck we had a couple of LRs, & better Peugeots). Lo and behold, see the olive green thing (unique color too) at the school grounds, the annoying horn blaring and my Dad with mischief all ova his face calling me. See shame that day. He loved the ride greatly and despite Mums nagging refused to sell or give it away. When he passed on (God bless his soul) Mum as the new oga did not hesitate to dispose of the thing. A cousin of dad was glad to receive it. Presently, my dad's impeccable 504, our green car is in shambles. Has caught fire twice and is an array of different car panels but still manages to run on the same engine that came with it. We were not pleased and mum even considered repossessing the vehicle buh we advised aganist such. Reading this thread brings back memories. We all learned to drive in that car. Till now I don't really feel comfortable with power steering.

Sorry if I offended you with my outburst. I have a strong aversion to disrespect to elders. What I'm doing for the Dame, I'll do for yhur mum if she's insulted in like manner (and I'm serious).

Whether we like it or not, 9ja is our home. And people all over the world watch us as we project ourselves as individuals and as a nation. Now how will we b able to garner goodwill from the rest of the world when we portray ourselves in bad light.
