Man is made up of dust of the earth and spirit or breathe of God..so by simple inference,it is clear that God was talking to the earth ,as she provided the dust for the body and God provided the spirit or breadth...Adam simply means man .

The woman was created by taking a rib from the man and Encasing it in flesh.this simply means we should desire a woman based on what she has inside Her intellect,not her breast or legs or hips .Eve simply means woman.
