May be just the burden of your prayer(s)... each prayer we pray carries a 'burden' which we need to pray off. An example was Jesus praying thrice for something before His betrayal as well as Elijah before the release of abundance of rain (7 times)... Yours might be different though.
softwerk: My moral compass has been swinging on the extreme since I learnt that recently CR7 had twin babies from a surrogate mother.
For those who do not know, a surrogate mother is a woman that volunteers to be experimentally used in the conception of a baby by accepting the sperm of a man (in this case CR7) and the ovum or egg of a woman (in this case CR7's girlfriend).
The big question now on my mind now remains: Is giving birth to a baby through a surrogate mother an abomination, an certified act of adultery of a sinful act of fornication?!
Nairalanders please react!
there's a moniker here, kingebukasblog / kingebukanaija with a similar and more probing thread to this dilemma of yours..... checkout the answer by ishilove on the thread.
pdozie: Good day to you all. It was great stumbling on this thread over a month back. I am a christian (Catholic). I've been reading from page one and now at 137th page. I just want to acknowledge the usefulness of this thread in creating in-depth knowledge of God and the way things play out in the spiritual realm.
Through this thread I got to know about many other preachers and articles. I've now read and listened to preachings of people like Kenneth Haggin, Pastor Bankie and others.
Faith indeed comes by hearing/reading the Word of God. That's exactly what this thread has done for me. Not that I didn't use to read the bible before but sometimes you read but u don't understand or digest.
I don't dream much though. Sometimes when I dream these days and its not a good omen, I wake up and pray to cancel the dream. (As taught by CharlyG).
Let me go back to page 137 to continue. But not before sharing my testimony (Not about demons or spirits though).
I've been working as a contract staff for 4 years now after the company where i was a permanent staff went down. In the new company, they started me with one year contract renewable afterwards. it got renewed after the year for another year. After the second year, things began to shake. Some contracts were not renewed. Some of us that got renewal got 3 months. It continued and worsened to a time they had to give us one month!!!!! At this stage it was so worrisome as rumors had it that the new CIO (there was a change of leadership) will not be keen on retaining the contracts.
I kept on praying asking God to either renew contracts or let the spirit lead me to a new place or direct me to be self employed. As God will have it, the new CIO came and he is someone I had worked with years back. He approved our renewals and kept it running every 3 months. Now, the contract is ending this 30th june 2017. Many permanent staff are being outsourced already. Some were forcefully resigned. Again we the contractors weren't sure of our fate. I had listened to one of pastor Bankie preaching where he dice-ted use of psalm 23 as prayer point. I applied it, also applied kenneth Haggin preaching on praying in agreement, "If two or three agree on anything on my name....". I called my wife we prayed in agreement over the job. Just last week I was informed my contract is approved for 6 months!!! Isn't that awesome?
There were other testimonies. I learnt not to pray for money. Just pray for help on what you intended to do. You may not get the money to solve the problem, u may just get someone that will solve it without u getting the money. So it was last 2 months when my wife's Dad died. She is the first daughter and expectations on me were high towards the burial. I prayed to God for successful burial (Not for money to do burial) and everything was just perfect to my liking. Even the money came through friends. Among other things we prayed for journey mercies. One amazing thing - after burial we drove back from East to Lagos with our car. 7 hours on the road and our car developed problem but it was few miles from our home (in Lagos). With that fault, the car still took us home even though we were almost crawling. Imagine if it was at Ore or somewhere far!!! I praised God because He answered all our prayers.
On the spirits and demons I haven't really had much to share. There is no night now I don't pray and command any demons to flee as taught here.
I have also been sharing the link to this thread on my facebook and whatsapp groups. I recall CharlyG mentioned attacks do come if one promotes the Word of God. I don't know if this is why I have suddenly started having chest pain (Just a week now). ECG confirmed some abnormalities. May go for more tests but I don't want to hear any thing worse. I've been praying asking God to use the prescribed drugs to perform His healing and miracle because, "...by His stripes I have been healed". Intercede for me too please.
That book Howard Pittman on demons was a great insight ( Can't remember who shared it). It collaborates what CharlG had been revealing to us.
I thanks all the contributors from Charles, Oyeduf, Alice (Ana02?), not sure if Voos is still here, Temi, Nnamdi etc.
HardMirror: when we say religion is all man made, we don't say it cos we hate God, we say it because of contradictions like this. man who made religion is not perfect so don't expect to make sense of religion. that is why you need faith, I mean stubborn faith to remain a Christian or Muslim in particular. let's wait and see the concocted answers the Christians will invent in defence of their God.
and how does this address the op which is already giving a misguided and incomplete story to adjudge from...
CHAVINCI: In church today, we talked about 1 kings chapter 21 where it tells the injustice king ahab did to Naboth and his children, yes it was very cruel and wicked, but my point is when GOD decided to punish Ahab which of course he repented and wore sack clothes and so GOD extended his hand of mercy on him by saying the punishment meant for him would happen to his children, don't you think that is a misguided justice on the part of GOD?
I mean why would people who know nothing about how a sin was committed pay the price? And if GOD had truly forgiven him, then why punish his children, is that still called forgiveness?
who told you the children did not partake? the punishment was to wipe out his lineage be it in his time or not ... are you sure you were in that sermon?
sukkot: let me further explain. you know the alphabets were created based on gematria number systems right ? well when you compute nigeria in that alphabeto-numerical system you get HELL
I don't buy it still... is it only Nigeria, what of other countries like Cyprus, somalia, Sweden, Niger, etc.
kpakpandoN: “Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.” The above scripture is one of those very popular passages in the Psalms. When a baby Christian hears it, he will say “Amen!” Some adult Christians have even turned it into a song. A mature believer in Christ, I mean a real bone-cracker, will however react differently. When he or she hears this passage being quoted, the first thing he or she will do is to carry out a brief self-examination and introspectively ask: “I hope I am not one of these enemies?” In other words, he is not in a hurry to say amen. In 2nd Samuel 12:1-7, after Prophet Nathan told King David the story of an oppressive act committed in his kingdom, the king rose up in fury and decreed, “That fellow must die.” Then the prophet replied, “You are the man, O king.” Be very careful how you judge others because Matthew 7:2 says, “For with what judgement ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.” If only some people were merciful while judging others, they too would have been shown mercy when they were going through their own judgement.
Beloved, before you cry to God to arise and let His enemies be scattered, first find out if you are not that enemy. Have you even tried to find out whether God is the one fighting you? In Numbers 22:22-31, God had told Prophet Balaam not to go and curse His people. Nevertheless, when Balak invited him to curse the children of Israel and promised him a lot of money, he disobeyed God. God therefore sent an angel to block his way. The donkey he rode on saw the angel and stopped, but because his own eyes were blinded by covetousness, he could not see the angel. What will you do if you find yourself in this scenario? You perceive something is blocking your way but you do not know what exactly it is, and you say, “You demon standing between me and my destiny, move!” You get a response saying, “I am not a demon but an angel.” You then insist and say, “No problem, whatever you are, move out of my way!” He then asks, “In whose name?” You say “In the Name of Jesus Christ”, and the response is, “Oh, He is the One who asked me to block your way!” What would you do? Today, many people are busy fighting non-existent forces of darkness that they believe are blocking their way. Go back to God and find out who is really blocking your way in order to pray correctly. Written by Pastor E.A. Adeboye.
