Food › Re: Foods/Delicacies From Other Tribes That You Love by specialguest(f): 12:20am On May 02, 2013
Abacha- I don't know what tribe owns this delicacy, as a northerner I enjoy eating it to the extent I learnt how to prepare it last year while I visited ph.

Gbegiri soup- or beans soup as it is fondly called. Though its common in some northern states like Niger, I believe the soup belongs to the yoruba"s. I can lick a plate full of this yummy soup even without amala or any other swallow.
Politics › Re: What do you love about Nigerians? by specialguest(f): 12:02am On May 02, 2013
I love Nigerians because we have so much faith and hope even in the midst of adversity. Nigerians don't jump over bridges or drink poison just because he/she got jilted by a lover unlike in India where people commit suicide at the slightest provocation/depression.

I also like Nigerians because we are our brother"s keeper especially outside the shores of Nigeria. Maltreat a Nigerian in India or China and see how our brothers would swing into action to avenge. I have personally witnessed such protests.

Regardless of what others think, being a Nigerian makes me proud.

God bless Nigeria.

Popowaa: She looks good.
She tried too hard to look good in my opinion. The pose didn't do her much good either.
Entertainment › Re: Emirates Features Nigerian Movies On Board by specialguest(f): 7:22pm On Apr 29, 2013
nairaman66: So you all consider this as an achievement in the 21st century? undecided
Yes its a very great achievement. I am certain Emirates airlines would only feature carefully selected movies with high ratings, thereby showcasing Nigeria to the world in a positive manner which is very much needed at this point where BBC and CNN have succeeded in making the whole world think we only have slums and bomb making factories in Nigeria.

Romance › Re: Should I Continue This Way? by specialguest(f): 6:17pm On Apr 28, 2013
Never compare your husband with another man... Remember the grass is not always greener on the other side. It is unlikely that your ex boyfriend who did not marry you after dating you for 6 years would want to marry you if you become a divorcee.
Someone has rightly advised you to learn how to love your husband, go on and practice it. Goodluck!
Nairaland General › Re: Where Is Nairaland Located? by specialguest(f): 12:43am On Apr 27, 2013
Seun: It's located in Ogun State, but our office is not yet open to the public.
Since Nairaland is an online forum I am wondering what you will be doing with a physical office. Or do you plan to venture into other business using the name 'Nairaland' as a trademark?

He does not deserve to be hanged for stealing just 2000 naira ordinarily, but because its at gun point that makes it a different case entirely.
Travel › Re: Please Help A Nairalander In China!!!! by specialguest(f):
lostinchina: Thanks all my people for your suggestions, advices et al...

I left shenzhen this morning, i took the metro rail D7034, we departed around 09:04 and we arrived at Gangzhou at exactly 10:36

I checked into a hotel in Gangzhou - JUN SHAN HOTEL

Immediately we drove out of the metro terminals I started noticing my brothers.. grin grin grin

I had my first feel-at-home jollof rice at the first floor of Tangqi Clothing City; after some many days.

As of the time of writing this, i just finished having semolina with draw soup and a bottle of Guiness from one restaurant that is very

I will be leaving China on Sunday via Royal Thai; I must confess that beside the food palava, China is a great country.

Initially, I thought the reason why our leaders are struggling to get it right is because of our population explosion!

But seeing what Chinese government have done and are still doing for the population that is 100 times that of Nigeria; then I think something is definitely wrong somewhere.

Once again, thanks folks and God bless!!
Nice to know you have met your "brothers" over there. No offence but i presume you are from the eastern part of Nigeria and there are lots of Igbo people in guangzhou.
Here are a few tips to bear in mind while in guagzhou.
1. African food/ restaurants can be found in guanyan shilu canaan, tienshu building , dong feng hotel and elephant trading mall in sha tan shi lu.
2. Guangzhou is generally not safe for a first timer so be mindful of the kind of hotel you logde and carry your international 'PASSPORT' at all times because the police in that city derives pleasure from harrassing black guys especially.
3. Change your money at licensed operators or at the hotel reception where you are lodging only because they have some fake 100 rmb notes in circulation. 100 rmb is almost 2500 naira
4. Do Not over stay the 28 days on china mainland! Infact at all cost try and leave before the 28 days is over because they have a very stiff penalty regarding over stay even if its just for a day.
5. Try to collect business cards from shops you've visited and would like to go back to because the cab men in guanghzou do not understand english. So once you get into a cab you can give them the card and they would take you right to the particular shop or market.
6. Sadly but true some of our Nigerian brothers can actually swindle a fellow Nigerian so be careful who you associate with else your business money would be tactifully collected from you.

Since you are leaving on sunday you dont need a long epistle. Have fun

"your mtn smooth talk balance is ..... Ngn; text 501050 to 4100 to set Saka's 'I don port' as your callertune for FREE! "

For tha fact mtn is even offering the callertune for free, i guess there is more to this Saka's advert.

Naaaaa never... Did you hear of the Apo 6 killings that took place in Abuja some years ago?
100 shots and the ladies are still alive meanwhile just two shots from the Nigerian Police is enough to send someone to an early grave.
Car Talk › Re: When Driving, Is It Advisable To Offer Lift To Persons Standing Along The Road? by specialguest(f): 8:43pm On Apr 23, 2013
I rarely offer strangers a "lift" however on the few occassions i did, i made sure i used my instincts before picking them up because i can smell danger from miles away. A funny incident happened to me last month. i was right by my car unlocking the door to get in and this guy pulled up beside me in his car and asked me if i wanted a ride! Lolz i replied yes and i also told him to help me fold my car and stuff it in his boot before he can pick me up. I wonder what he was thinking cheesy

No i dont read them but sometimes i glance through it while scrolling down to find the "accept " button. I dont see the need to read terms and conditions especially when i am trying to download an application or a software that i actually need. Infact its a a waste of time reading those stuff because i find lots of unnecessary repetitions.

Romance › Re: I Love Him But He Loves My Friend And She Dont Love Him by specialguest(f): 3:40pm On Apr 14, 2013
Leave your friend's boyfriend alone and find your's. Else he will only keep using and dumping you. Besides it is morally wrong to date your friend's boyfriend irrespective of whether they are together or not.
Most couples tend to have breaks in a relationship and during this period either of them may date someone else but one thing that remains constant is the fact they will make up after sometime if they still love eachother and get back together therefore leaving you ( the lover) hanging.

Romance › Re: Start As Friends Or Declare Your Intentions From Start? by specialguest(f): 3:04pm On Apr 14, 2013
ypzilanti: You should always let ur intentions be known early enough. When you ask a woman out on a one on one date, she basically already knows what you have in mind. If she goes on a first date with you, make sure you get a second date by being great company and engaging her well during the date. Naija women can go on first date to 'chop your money' but if you are not thier type, they will usually spare you and themselves a second date.

Second date, find an appropriate time to state your intentions in a natural manner. Something simple like 'I like you a lot. I enjoy being with you and would like us to see each other more often'. On second date, make sure you get more personal in your gist: relationships, boyfriend/girlfriend tinz, aspirations etc. If she went out with you the second time, she probably likes you, so relax and enjoy your date. After the second date, if things went well, the lady would be more serious in calling you back immediately, replying text messages etc. By after third date, she would have called you on her own to check up on you without prompting. Once you get her first unscheduled phone call, you are in business.

Oya op, send money to my account for free advice gained from over two decades of chasing Naija women.
Hmmn, i learnt 'something' from your post. Thankx
Phones › Re: Good Samaritans Who Returned Lost Phones by specialguest(op): 2:56pm On Apr 07, 2013
nenergy: January 2012, 2 phones (3 sims) slide out of my pocket while returning from an aptitude test. I didn't pass the test and was moody. Didn't notice until i got home. Kept calling the "stupid finder" but he kept posting me. From his voice he probably was an area boy. Having your missing phones returned is a function of the kind of person who finds it 1st.

Secondly, returning missing phones in Nigeria can be risky business. I read in the news of how a girl spent 4years in kirikiri for returning a "missing phone". The owner had lost many other things that day and accused the girl of "stealing" them.

Lesson: in returning a missing phone; have the owner come to you, not you going to them. Make sure you ask them to carefully explain how they might have lost the phone,so no police wahala. And have witnesses with you when doing the exchange.
Its unfortunate if the girl actually spent 4 years in kirikiri for a crime she knew nothing about. However It seems there is more to her story because i doubt if someone would be that heartless to arrest a girl who found and returned a missing item exceptif a crime was committed in the process.
