Family › Re: At What Age Should A Nigerian Parent Stop Fending For The Child by specialguest(f): 4:03pm On Mar 10, 2013
It should be when a child becomes matured and he can fend for himself i.e he/ she is gainfully employed or has a substantial means of livelihood. Unfortunately there is no uniform age to declare a child's independency in Nigeria owing to our epileptic Educational system and the high rate of unemployment.
Some children are lucky enough to complete their studies and get a job before the age of 25 while others struggle till their 30's so in essence the appropriate age for parents to stop fending for their children depends largely on the child's circumstance and the financial ability of the parents.

38000 miles on Emirates can get you a ticket to dubai i think but mind you, you will stay pay the applicable tax on the ticket. You can check on www.skywards.com or emirates high street there you will find a drop down menu which tells you what you can do with your skywards miles.

i cant imagine how heartbroken her family would feel right now. After training a child from primary through university. I heard four corp members also died on their way to zamfara camp though i dont know how true. May the souls of the departed rest in peace.

I still can't understand why Nysc has not been abolished, afterall most ex corpers are still in the labour market years after completing their youth service.

I got confused midway.. Some details are not correlating i,e she spent 10 days at the guy's house and so on..

Mind you a Nigerian man can even go to the extent of telling a girl he no longer loves his wife or he doeznt care about his family anymore but the last thing he would actually do is to divorce that same wife.. "What God has put together, let no man put asunder " so if he is indeed married, i advise she counts her loss and moves ahead because nothing good can come out of that relationship. Remember he deceived her once already and is prepared to continue doing so till she becomes a pulp.

Huh huh So this is really what they think yet they manage to squeeze out fake smiles at us. Now i know better and the next time i see an air hostess giving me that fake smile i would tell her to shove it up her throat.

By the way are you talking about those air hostess on Nigerian local flights that could be sometimes annoying or are you referring the well trained ones on international flights? Personally i very much enjoy the services of the cabin crew on emirates flight and i look forward to it each i travel.

The best prevention is frequent handwashing undecided i thought the queen never shakes hands with anybody except with her handgloves on, well i guess its time to take off the gloves so she could start washing her hands frquently to prevent a reoccurence.

Travel › Re: 42 Private Jets Land At Lagos Airport Daily by specialguest(op):
tiarabubu:

42 private jet (Flights) land at Lagos airport daily

I wish these reporters will not continue to mislead people with their wrong headlines. From the headline it would appear 1,200 private jets land in Lagos. However, from the article they meant 1,200 FLIGHTS involving private Jets land in Lagos every month. A single private jet can take off and land in Lagos everyday and it should not imply that these are jets but FLIGHTS.
The English may not have been used in the right context but you would agree that 1200 jet 'flights' lading in Lagos Airport per month signifies something serious is happening there. As stated in the article most of those flights bring business executives from all destinations into Nigeria and most importantly the increase in Business aviation activity is a major Economic indicator that Nigeria is making progress despite all the negative reports of bombings and killings everywhere. Personally i am happy to read about this development.

I don't like being too conspicous in gatherings and the traditional attire sometimes makes me feel like a clown especially when I visit some parts of asia.
So mostimes I just go with the saying " when you are in rome behave like the romans". That way I don't get unnecessary attention.
