Tell 'your girls' to stop being gold diggers, it will save them unnecessary pain. please What do you mean by she's a gold digger? Oh! You expected her to marry church rats or never do well guys or something? I don't get your rant of calling her gold digger. You mean once a lady married a rich guy then she automatically becomes a gold digger? Please i need to understand you biko. Family › Re: Pursue My Career Or JAPA by Spherical77(m): 10:02pm On Jan 09, 2022 |
LordVoldmort: Hello everyone.
I'm sorry if this is the wrong section. Mods please help move to the correct section.
Please I'm at a cross road. Here's a background to my story. I apologize for the length. I just need to have an unbiased advice.
I have been working in the financial industry as a contract staff and last year, I got converted to a full time staff. salary is a few thousands shy of 300k.
I'm a family oriented individual and plan on getting married before I hit 30. This has always been my plan. I also am a career focused and driven individual and I want to go back to school for my masters. I'm hungry for knowledge.
My company has a scheme where they sponsor you to do your masters in any school in the world and pay up to 80% provided it's online and you maintain certain appraisal levels.
Also, my company promotes every 2 years subject to satisfactory performance. They also pay huge bonus and profit sharing every year. They also review salaries upwards every year to reflect current economic realities. My next promotion will be next year with an approximate salary of a few thousands shy of 400k.
Now here's my problem.
I Intend giving my best to this company because believe me it's a great place to work with amazing people. I'm one of a few Nigerians who love their jobs and wake up everyday eager to go to work. The company rewards hardwork and there's prospect of moving to my most preferred department.
My problem is that my brother wants me to work for like 2-3 years, save up and japa to Canada via study route. I used to have the mindset of japa but now that things are looking a bit fair and life is picking up, the japa thoughts is doing me one Kain.
My bro says online degrees from foreign recognized institutions do not carry as much weight as when I'm over there studying.
My bro is doing well for himself. Married with kids and is about relocating this year to Canada with his family. His wife is a professional too.
I'm currently 27. I intend getting married before 30, settle down quickly and plan my future with my family early. I have a serious gf. We've known each other since our secondary school days and she's about to go for NYSC. She said she won't marry now until she's financially sound. She's 25. She's a really good fashion designer and a really smart and homely lady. We've had our fights too like every relationship but she ticks all my boxes in what I want In a woman. My brothers love her although I haven't introduced her to my parents yet. I planned doing so this year.
My responsibilities aren't much cos I stay in my family house. I do not spend up to 10k for tfare to work. I'm even saving 200k from my salary.
Saving up to japa for study will mean:
Suspending my marriage plans. Leaving my good job and starting over in a strange land. Putting my life on hold for about 7/8 years while there. Because give or take, I'll use 2/3 years to save up enough to take me there for study, 2 years masters then 2/3 years finding my feet, standing on my own, hustling for PR and finally getting married to my gf (that's if she'll even still be waiting for me).
My fear is what if things don't go according to plan? What if I get the degree and don't get PR status and they ask me to return to my country? And I end up coming back to Nigeria with only my degree. I'd have lost everything.
My gf is a good woman. Understanding. Spends on me and is so loving. She's been with me when I had nothing so I know she's not here for the money. I spoke to her about it and she asked me to pray for God's leading. I've prayed and still praying.
I had a dream where I was catching enough fishes. Big fishes. Then one fish jumped out and I left all the fishes to get back that one and all the fishes I'd previously caught all escaped.
Life is smiling at me now. Things are picking up. I just don't want to make the wrong move and end up loosing all.
Please I need advice. I would advise you to stay in Nigeria and work things out yourself. Invest in viable businesses, get to a reasonable position at your place of work before considering marriage and have less kids |

The economy is booming ,We now have functional railways.
A lot of nations now fear us, look at how we reacted to Dubai and other nations. Yes , things are expensive now but that's the fault of the past administration.
You can't expect buhari to fix 16 years of mismanagement in 8 years. Only a wailing dullard would think so. how old are you? |

DenreleDave: Okay má.. But can I ask sumtin?
Do u accept that most ladies wished death for their mother in law (to be) No reasonable woman would wish her soon to be mother inlaw death. Yes, I've heard some ladies do say that though but I'm yet to see any Nonetheless, i believed those who wished their soon to be mother inlaw death does that probably due to the experience some of them had with their friends, family members, neighbours et al, mother inlaws. They probably saw how some mother inlaws had treated their son's wives However, that isn't enough reason to assume all mother inlaws are bad. Someone you've not even get close to Mother inlaws should prove them wrong by showing them LOVE. See them as your daughters and watch how it goes |

Romance › Re: I Blame Girls For The Alarming Rate Of Rituals Nowadays In Nigeria by Spherical77(m): 8:22am On Jan 09, 2022 |
Prettydevil: I actually think girls are the cause of the alarming rate of rituals in society today, because they have made men become extremely desperate to impress them. I noticed something recently, ladies will treat you like a king the second you have or even look like you have money. I always look good facially but I noticed the admiration I get when I look rich is on a total different level, girls throw themselves at me without any care in the world, but the second I don’t look or dress rich and still look good facially girls don’t give a shit about my face they just treat me regularly.
Men only make money to impress the ladies or at least that’s one of the major reasons, so every guy out there killing girls for money is also trying to impress other girls with the money from the rituals. If ladies stopped digging gold every single day all these rituals may reduce, and society may go back to normal.
Why will girls treat boys without money like shit? They treat you like they wished you were dead just for talking to them and looking poor? Why? Why is life now this shallow? Back in the days there was true love and girls didn’t care so much about your pockets and life was sweet and normal. Now no single girl will ever be nice to you when you are poor no matter how handsome you look, and you wonder why boys do rituals to impress girls?
Wonder why these ritualist have no pity when killing these girls? Because they know they will literally never find a wife if they don’t do rituals and make money, no single girl will talk to them. There is no jobs or opportunities yet every single girl wants a boy whose worth a million dollars , even teenage girls now only want a boy using an iPhone of 900,000 naira ? Wtf? I’m so angry!!!!! Stop these rubbish ladies and stop Making our young men go into rituals to impress you!! Jesus I’m so angry You'd also blame mothers, fathers, siblings et al for being used as rituals by their sons for their insatiable appetite of making money at all cost? |

alizma: I already knew you were going to trap yourself in the process and you just did. Going by your post, how would you take a man who stands before a group of youths and tell them not to worry much about being successful because success is not for everyone? Over to you Mr Sabinus Absolutely success isn't for everyone. I asked you earlier why do we have much more poorer people than the rich ones? You are leading them astray making success a do or die for them. That's why we have criminal minded lazy youths littered in Nigeria indulging in cyber theft, ritualist, armed robbery amongst many others. Reason because you've made it known to them that success is a MUST and coming from Nigeria factors where unemployment is on the increase. They had no choice than to utilized other option left in their disposal just to follow your teaching of success is a MUST They are truly successful as you wished, but in a wrong way that'd later backfire. Your teaching probably lead them astray. Even though we all know that they are covetous by nature Nothing absolutely is a do or die in life |

Why would someone tell a woman who is looking for advise on marital issues that marriage is not for everybody, If the woman think and believe so, would she be looking for advise on marriage? And What makes you think marriage is truly for everybody Mr. Married man? If you have this mentality of marriage is for everybody, then everybody ought to be rich na? Why must we have much more poorer people than the rich ones? Since you've made one particular institution in the society mandatory for everyone I know you have been brainwashed. Na God go deliver you |

I guess you are not married, obviously you have little knowledge on the emotional aspect of the case at hand. Since you think marriage is not for everybody, will you gladly say amen if I pray that you will remain single for life? This your last statement shows how myopic you are. Blakjewelry: In this part the world? Devoice can be messy if the woman is not financially stable. Infact it's money that is making alot of women stuck in a sad marriage that they can't move out of. I have seen men and women going back and forth to welfare office because the man refused to take care of the children, and remember most people In Nigeria don't do court marriage. You are absolutely right bro. Alot of women are willing to dump the ass of their husband long time ago. Sadly, they are stuck in there due to their poor finances. Women are really going through a lot in the name of marriage and they can't move out. Not because they love their husband that much or what people would say. Rather, the monetary part of it makes them remain in that messy marriage I have them in my neighbourhood and i really feel for them. Some men cheat and rubb it to their wives face claiming she can't do nothing. Women needs to be educated and empowered before marriage. It's very very neccesary seriously. Especially in this our naija where nothing absolutely works |

I think it will be even be easier in your case since you are both been separated for sometime. As what people will say! Forget about it, it's your life and no one will be there when the door is closed beside everyone got their own share of problem to deal with. She needs not to be financially ok since it's the man who served her divorce notice. The man would definitely be responsible for the kids upkeep, education and whataview She only needs to be financially ok for her wellbeing and support her kids. Especially if she doesn't plan to re-marry |
