Kpac:
The best thing to do on Nairaland these days is JUST to read and shake head to the comments by 90% of the users here.
It always amazes me how morals in Nigeria have suddenly turned away from the youths and teenagers we have nowadays.
Intelligence is now lacking, if you have a good ride now and can show generosity here and there, Nigerians are behind you. Even if you go wrong and you are guilty, here on Nairaland, it first turns Tribal, then Religious, then Political and Finally it turns out of hand and with no direction.Sentiments now occupy 80% of our youth's brain and there is nothing they say or contribute to that is free and fair.

> Mercy Johnson gets married to someone who has not divorced his former wife, Christ embassy went ahead with the wedding with no Press release of why they are taking the decision, Nigerians hail her and tell her to carry on.
We love mercy Johnson but that shouldn't blind us, when she does something wrong, we should let her face the music.
> Bode George embezzles Nigerian rail money, went to a short term jail, Nigerians roll out the drums and give his welcome a good ovation plus a live coverage on National TV.
Thousands have died on Nigerian Roads, our uncles, niece, nephews, brothers and sisters have all lost their lives at one time or the other, if Bode George have used the money well, our rails would probably be doing fine, we would have enjoyed traveling safer and faster using the rails instead of the bad roads.
> Olisa Adibua beats co-worker silly and embarrassed him also treating him with scorn, Nigerians call for his expulsion from Glo Naija Sings, Other Nigerians say he has apologized and the call for his punishment is the work of his enemies.
When a popular figure does such things in Advanced Countries, irrespective of his apologies, he/she would be expelled from any public or private firm, but here in my Country it is called blasphemy.

This Sentiments have eaten deep and we are killing our country ourselves, Nigerians used these sentiment to vote Goodluck Jonathan as our president. Many used the sentiment of Niger Delta, Others used sentiments of South South, Other used Sentiments of Religion, Others the sentiments of Goodluck Jonathan political history, the worse sentiment was people voting for him because he bears "Goodluck".

The same way many NURTW members in Lagos voted Olorunwa as their leader in Lagos and now they are realizing the guy is the opposite of his name.

I am a Nigerian, from Ogun State, a Christian and Lives In Lagos State. I will help, vote or assist any bona fide Nigerian based on merit, history and performance, if the messiah of my beloved Nigeria is from Lagos State or from a rural town in Ebonyi state, or maybe from a settlement in Niger State or maybe from a clan in Benue State, lets let credible people live their dreams for this country, lets help ourselves, lets stop stabbing our country.

@noble_gas1 , your sentiment made you made the comment that "Nigeria is burning, Obasanjo is dancing" if these be true then i'll say "Nigeria is burning, noble_gas1 is browsing".

No matter who is on GEJ's cabinet as ministers, no matter the new innovations brought to Nigeria, no matter the contracts awarded, no matter what is done in the present Nigeria. Nigeria would never DEVELOP is we all stay these way.

How can we develop, if because an Okada man hits a student, students riots and burn houses and kill okada men.
How can we develop, if because an electric poll falls down on a commuter bus, commuter driver invade PHCN office and burns and vandalism anything on sight
How can we develop, if we all throw our pure water sachets, biscuit sachets etc on the road and we all curse the Governor all the way in Alausa for our clogged and bad roads.
How can we develop, if we see 419's on the street and because we are wise enough to detect them, refuse to report them to the authorities and allow them free day to dupe the less privileged people.
How can we develop, if we find a particular pure water very bad and contains dirt and we refuse to call their mobile numbers to report so that they are aware of what harm can be done.
How can the Nigerian Police stop been corrupt, if we all beg them in God's name and offer them bribe just because the Danfo we all boarded was caught passing one-way.

I weep for my country.
Thanks a lot for your detailed analysis,  I believe every right-thinking person totally agrees with your views here. If we continue to use every available medium such as this to condemn all these shortfalls in our attitude as Nigerians, I believe we all will be better of in the long run.
God bless you.

All over the world people vote for who you are and not hoping for who you will turn out to be in the future/after the election. It`s only in Nigeria people vote blindly and hope that the voted will turn out better. The result is always there for us to enjoy.  grin
You are very right. I'm also of the opinion that it's better to wait for another round of elections (4yrs from now) or follow other legitimate means of removing those we felt have not performed to our expectations. All these bombings and general insecurity all over the land will not help anyone, tribe, region, ethnic or religious divide in the long run. If allowed to snowball into a full-fledged conflict, the consequences far outweigh any momentary advantages (if any) to any group. Therefore, let's reason together and proffer solutions to our number one problem at the moment (insecurity), then we can map out strategies to wrestle power legitimately from those we feel don't deserve it due to their gross under-performances.

I personally voted GEJ and convinced my little circle of friends to do same. If u roll back the hands of the clock now, I'm not sure I will do same again due to his seemingly lack of vision (he still has a little over 3 yrs to prove me wrong). But be that as it may, I will not support violence and wanton destruction of lives and properties all in the name of a lost election. By my own judgement (I may be wrong), that will only lead to anarchy and ultimately the splitting/disintegration of this country if not curtailed.

I'm really not concerned if you pay her school fees or not especially now that you've already done so. I would rather have advised that she finds a way to sort it out while you give her back the amount at a convenient time so as to attend to pressing demands from mum and sisters.

well since the guy is only looking for extra sex, why take a second wife? second wife will want her own children and a lot of other baggages. the man should rent an apartment (in his own name) for a young woman who needs sugar daddy. that way when the young woman is ready for marriage (to another man) he can let her go with some compensation, then look for another young woman till she's also ready for marriage. that way, he'll probably have a new puccy maybe every 5 years cool. plus no extra kids. the only disadvantage to this is that the man must have money and vasectomy is highly recommended. i think the man's wife would prefer this also since she'll remain the only wife and her kids won't have to share inheritance with other kids.

Question : Any sense in Moslem women demontsrating in Kano over Palestinian women's plight?

Answer: Capital NO

Reason: The demonstration should actually be against the use of Northern children as Boko Haram and political thugs by BUHARI's CPC in Nothern Nigeria.

1. I did not ask you to apologize for insulting me -
I said Boko Haram members were on NL and you meant I was talking to you: Not my fault, it's your thinking. So, no apologies for that.

2. I asked you to apologize for spreading propaganda, making unsubstantiated claims and causing me to waste my time refuting them. Get it?

okada_man:
Is this my first reply to you on this thread? Go back and check. First and second replies were simple advices.

The insults are devices for waking people like you up. I will not take them back until you apologize for spreading unsubstantiated claims as Truth.

After advising you, I went through the trouble and I my wasted time to post information showing that your Claims were wrong, still you ignored.

By the way, I saw the nonsense you posted on the other PDP thread calling me and other people on this thread Boko-Haramist.  How am I a Boko Haramist ?

It is painful to see you waste your time defending the oppressors of your own people.

It is very simple. if you give a job to a worker and he continues to fail at it, you remove him from the job and try another worker, you don't reward failures with promotion. Even if the replacement is a former failure, at least you've sent a clear message that you will continue to punish failures and won't tolerate incompetence.

People like you should stand with us against the oppression, lies and manipulations of PDP owners, but NO you will rather help them feel more powerful and convince other STOOOOOOPID young Nigerians to believe their lies. If you are not getting paid for this, then you are really STOOOOOPID.
@Okada_man

grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin I only alluded to the fact that some Boko Haram members have infilterated NL. If you see this as a direct insult on your person, what else can I say? grin grin grin
However, hope you've checked other numerous threads where I've been very critical of GEJ and his "talk and no action" governance. I've said it severally that GEJ (and by extension PDP) is not doing a good job at governance at the moment and have even suggested he seeks advices from well-meaning Nigerians rather than his present "we-know-who-they-are" posture. I've also said that I strongly believe that Buhari is as clueless as GEJ when it comes to governance and I gave conditions that would have made me go the Buhari way in spite of his religious bigotry (read below).
If BUHARI had contested while Gen. Idiagbon was alive, may be I would have voted him because I know like what happened in the eighties, BUHARI would have heavily depended on Idiagbon for direction in his governance

I even summarized somewhere that a choice between BUHARI & GEJ is like choosing between the Devil and the deep blue sea: Either way, you're a goner!!!

If you put all these together, then you will know where I stand.

PoliticsRe: Helen Ukpabio Calls On Buhari To Apologies Over Boko Haram by splitnaija(m): 4:09pm On Sep 13, 2011
@Okada_man

You don't need to rain insults and abuses to buttress any point of yours, if you make sense I will see reason with you.

That there were a lot of inciting and provocative utterances from different quarters before and immediately after the elections is not in doubt. However, only CPC members, tacitly supported by their losing leaders, carried out their threats of unleashing violence and unrest all over the land. Hope you haven't forgotten that the election wasn't about CPC & PDP alone but about CPC, PDP, ANPP, APGA and over 40 other political parties. Why is CPC the only sore loser?
