Actually the extension became the problem. The extension was to allow more time for people to deposit their old notes but now people cannot have access to cash. CBN cannot release cash unless they receive old notes. The move by the house of reps for an extension was selfish and backfired.

Abia state has been the most useless state in the SE/SS politically. And the citizens are paying dearly for it with bad roads, and poor policies.

Please Raum, when I talk of SE/SS being independent in mind I am referring to the general context of the people culturally rather than politically.

Take Rivers for example, Wike can publicly declare support for Tinubu or Atiku, but the people will follow a different part. That is why you see all the governorship candidates including PO pictures on their campaign posters.

They talk as if they allocated land to u free of charge and u didn't pay for the land or u don't pay land use charge/pay ur tax as at when due. Some of them act as if they weren't normal citizens until the people voted them into power to lead the people.

It is all these talks that makes Nigerian leaders feel like rulers and not ordinary citizens called to serve the people. That's why u will see a governor wake one day and just demolish the house of a citizen because they have political differences.

I still maintain my stand, democary is not the way of majority of Africans and this shows in the way we practice our so-called democracy.

The sultan was only trying to let his people know how close he is to PO. This happened while POnws still a student at UNN and the sultan was a young captain. He said back in the days they visit each other's rooms and had a good relationship.

The point is that we could have a situation where s SE Christian president and a Fulani Muslim sultan are close friends for over 40years.

I think the whole scenario was planned. The error was in the extension. The House of Reps led by Tinubu's boy thought that by forcing an extension they will have the chance to hijack the new notes to be released. But Emefiele was smarter. They got the extension but he held back the new notes, making the extension a bad idea. Now that people are demanding for the new notes, banks will find it hard to allow politicians to hijack the notes. CBN 2-0 Politicians
