from my own observation alot of nigerians marry for the wrong reasons ,some just to fill among ,some to escape poverty .When they now get into marriage proper the happiness is soon short lived and reality begins to play ,hence while you see alot of men flirting without regard all over the place just to get their mind off the mess they have gotten themselves into ,then for the women the quest for money to sponsor their wannabe life style let them prey on this men and the circle continues

Politics / Re: Peter Obi's Chatham House Address: "Witty, Charming, Intelligent" - John Cookson by srclark: 2:50pm On Jan 21, 2023
IfnobeGod20:

Thank God it was a question you asked and I will go this way below.
The questions you suppose to ask are the following:
1. Did Obi own any salary or pension till he left office?
2. Did he do any laudable projects that can be seen?
3. Did he own any contractor that have delivered their project to the state?
4. Should government borrow just for borrowing sake?
5. Is saving culture part of governance?
Until all these questions are answered with clear mind of yours, then, that would have cleared the grey area.
Let me now take time to answer the questi

ons one after the other.
1. Peter Obi has said repeatedly everywhere he has opportunity to speak that the day he left office, he owed no worker salary and owed no pension to retirees. Still repeated same at Chatham House last week and no one has come out to say he lied.
2. It was on record that he built many roads that are cumulatively around 800km. Built over 12 bridges. Built from scratch 2 hospitals. Built library. Built state secretariat. Revamped Anambra industrial hub. Built and renovated hospitals and schools owed by faith base in Anambra. All these are capital projects that he used the meager resources to achieved within the 8 years of stewardship and still left that amount he left behind.
3. He has been saying it that he owed no contractor that successfully delivered their contract before the expiration of his tenure. He repeated same at Chatham House last week. Till date no one has come out to say Mr. Obi, you lied, you owe this contractor and that when you left and they've delivered their contract.
4. No reasonable government just borrow for borrowing sake. Many of our governors just borrow without knowing the reason for borrowing and that what has brought the country to its knees, because we don't think of the repayment. Borrowing should be tag to production, many governors borrow for consumption and that has brought states to huge debt that to repay become so difficult. If it is for production, from what you produced, repayment can be made from it. As good as borrow is, should not be a yardstick for reckless borrowing that our government are now doing. Did you read two days ago that FG is now borrowing to pay for subsidy. Meaning the country is now mess up to the extent of borrowing to finance consumption of fuel. That's stupidity of the first order. FG didn't borrow money to build refinery but borrowing to pay debt. This is serious case.
5. On saving. Every developed nations sometimes have savings multiple of their debt and that is what is giving them more confidence.

Read the importance of savings from the two links below and the extracts from the two links as to appreciate the importance of saving to a state or country.
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.britannica.com/topic/saving%23:~:text%3DSaving%2520is%2520important%2520to%2520the,from%2520consuming%2520their%2520entire%2520income.&ved=2ahUKEwi30JjegNH8AhVVYKQEHRM2BgMQFnoECBEQBQ&usg=AOvVaw3zl_Ug3sQpIT_PwMs4zav0
"Saving is important to the economic progress of a country because of its relation to investment. If there is to be an increase in productive wealth, some individuals must be willing to abstain from consuming their entire income".

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://dergipark.org.tr/en/download/article-file/1165371&ved=2ahUKEwi30JjegNH8AhVVYKQEHRM2BgMQFnoECA8QBQ&usg=AOvVaw0luiIvQ0h-8b5IKIAzP1IN
"The model suggests that while the capital-to-revenue ratio (v) is the data, the higher the saving rate (s), the higher the growth rate of the revenue. According to the model, countries need to increase their saving rates and thus their investment rates in order to be able to develop"
No reasonable economy can survive without saving culture. Same way no individual can make it without saving ideology. Saving for the rainy day is an economy principle both to state and individual.

Now to Tinubu, because you mentioned his name in your comment. It would shocked you that Tinubu never built a single bridge in his 8 years reign in Lagos and he only built just 4 schools called Millennium schools while he promised to build 21, one in each LGA. It was also on record that he only built 1 hospital, Alimosho General Hospital and renovated the rest. Bearing in mind Lagos monthly allocation is almost twice of Anambra allocation. We have not added IGR and borrowing to it.
Point of correction, Lagos allocation wasn't withheld, it was Lagos LGAs allocations that were withheld. No doubt he was able to weathered the storm just because Lagos have many tax generating components which other states that fell into the same problem had to back out. Remember not because he created any new companies or industries but took advantage of the existing ones on ground.
It is a well known fact that Lagos has been a rich state from inception and doesn't require a superman to superintend over it. It just require an ordinary man to do extraordinary achievement.
Check the poster below and see the amount that was expended on Lagos as at 1948.
salaries were paid that is commendable other governors did this too cause that is the right thing to do ,building 2 hospitals from the scratch to the end is commendable ,but for a state that has 21 lga ,there is still alot of work to be done here and there so why return the money you were given to develop and serve your people ,knowingly fully well it will be embezzled by others .You would rather try to prove a cheap political point of accountability than serve your people with resources allocated to them what do you think ?

not like i supporting any of the running mates ,but from another angle lets look at this as up right thinkers .Peter Obi keeps saying go and verify and he said he left or returned money when he was a serving governor .You were given money to work yet you returned some of the money as if you by have done all that needs to be done in Anambra ,he returned money he knows obviously will be embezzled by other corrupt politicians when he had all it could take as a governor to use it for his state .For me i would even prefer someone that exhausts what he was given and even borrow as long as it is used for just cause .On the other hand BAT was not given federal allocation for some years as the governor of Lagos state the biggest economy in Nigeria ,yet he was able to run the state with IGR ,please i am not supporting any of the candidates but this as been bothering me for sometime now please great thinkers what do you have to say about this thanks

Afodot0022:
Good day naira landers and happy holiday. I am writing this base on the challenge am having in my marriage. Some of you might have known little about the issue i had previously cos i brought it to the forum.

It happened that my wife was having emotional affairs with another man which i knew through her chat.

Though family and pastor were involved and have tried everything to resolve the issue between us. I have decided to forgive and forget and also give her a second chance even though it was a difficult situation for me, I decided to let go cos of my two daughters and don't want them to share from a broken home.

Now the issue am still having is that my wife has promise to change and be a better person and also promise to cut any emotional tile with the man. But I wasn't confident with that, so i told her to block this guy on all social media and also delete his number so there wont be any communication between them cos i sense if they both keep in touch, they might go back to what they were doing before. She got angry when i told her this and she said she can't block the guy cos they have been friends for many years even before she got married to me.

She started dating the guy last year under my roof and her reason was that i pushed her to do such act cos i wasn't giving her enough attention and love which is totally a lie.

So house, pls just let me know if i did wrong by telling her to block the guy or i over did it. I just felt blocking him will be best for us cos i noticed my wife is not fully detached from this guy emotionally.

Pls if you are in my shoes, what will you do house. If you want to get more insight about what transpired, you can go to my details nairaland.

Pls mod, help me by doing the needful.
stop playing with death young man ,you are already in a love triangle it is better to leave to live or your wife would end up killing you or the other guy .and they can continue enjoying themselves .NA WHO DIE HIM OWN FINISH

Education / Re: Boarding School Scandals: My Experiences As A Staff Of FGGC by srclark: 1:02pm On Jan 04, 2023
chatinent:
Sequel to this topic: https://www.nairaland.com/7508902/fgc-ijaniki-lagos-students-lodge

“The secrets and scandals that go on in boarding schools should not be heard by parents!“... I think it's the motto of the heads of departments in boarding schools. Is it sex? Drug abuse? Occultism? It's been going on for a long time.

There's an FGGC near where I live. For personal reasons, I won't disclose the location since this happens in almost all boarding schools.

Those minors no longer look like minors because of the forced maturity they forced themselves into.

Is education really respected anymore? I doubt, in the case of Nigeria..of course. The secondary school is now the most vulnerable! From my experiences while I was in the teaching sector, I think the best time to model a child is in secondary. Most teenage pregnancies happen in JSS3. JSS3? What's going on! And most times, the school doesn't “practically“ frown against it since of its management team are only interested in protecting the image of the school.

Day schools are no exceptions because I have worked in a school where even the director was notorious for having affairs with teachers and students. You need to see an environment where students tend to disrespect teachers because they feel they have an upper hand. Such spoilt brats!

I read the case of the Chris land girl and I wasn't surprised. I don't think any Nigerian teacher will be surprised. Even some management team advises you to “mind your business and job“ anyways.

They do so crazy things. They always have threesomes, foursomes, and group sex. Everyone living close know this because, most times, they are caught by people in the neighbourhood. Some are apprehended, while others are not. Some happen right inside the school! But guess what? The school is so determined to conceal their atrocities. It's no disrespect to state the obvious that (some of) their teachers also use them. They do, indeed. And you'll think they'd be disciplined severely by the school. Don't expect much.

And the rate of lesbianism is appalling. Some of these girls who sneak out at night end up in brothels...sex for money...and the majority of them run to their boyfriends like nymphs. Talk about boyfriends and you know I mean anyone ready to furnish their big lifestyles in school. Of course, most of them hustle to use the latest gadgets. If you are still using the iPhone 11 in the iPhone 14 world, you are in a different clique.

The alarming thing there is that youth corps members stationed there don finish these happy-to-be-used misguided teenagers.

I used to think that, most times, it's people who make advances to these little girls. Bit it's all untrue. These girls will gladly throw themselves at you for favors, marks, and all whatnot. Some are occultic...and if you don't recognize their physical advances, you become a threat.

You would want to remind me they have school guardians. Most of these guardians are only hyperactive when they are with you. After that, that's the end of discussion.

Should we talk about the immoral dressing? That will be for another day.

It's surprising to know but this isn't a university. It's a secondary school.

There's nothing new here. Anyone who's had the opportunity to work in any FGGC knows this.

In fact, what goes on there is worthy of consideration as a dissertation topic. Parents needs to know.

The FG really needs to look into this. And parents have a big role to play. Parents need to create time for their kids. Even most teachers I know in boarding schools don't send their kids to become boarders. Parental neglect is harmful.

We all should build society.

https://www.chatinent.com/2023/01/boarding-school-scandals-my-experiences.html?m=1
this is not the issue of day school or boarding school, the truth is the moral decadence in the society is on the high side and no one seems to care .Back in the day training child was more of a communal effort but now nobody cares .Just this December i was at a trade fair and i got to a stand where intimacy gadgets were being displayed and sold come on which responsible adult will do this .Also parents and guardians be very mindful of the discussions you have around these kids and young adults .You cant fail as a parent then you expect teacher to correct all the mistakes you have caused in that childs life .Imagine when the teacher does their own bit and the female child goes back home to find a Love Machine in her single mothers drawers .Self gratification is becoming something else in nigeria

Leaving a young wife alone for 9 months is a sin and u have failed as a husband
he does not satisfy me has become the excuse for cheating what happened to walking away , honestly this present day generation are misguided when it comes to sex ,thats why you see so much drug abuse all over the country young men and women taking different pills concoctions. Parents and guardians need to do more with these young adults ,the average 17 year old in Nigeria of today is already engaging in sexual activities with a much more older man maybe 25-26 very common ,the older man is experienced and takes all sort from pills to marijuana to defile this young adult that has just started her sexual life , all this will mess the girls mind up and will eventually be going from one man to the other till she gets married with this wrong mind set about sex .

It's either you are not getting the point or you are but still think they did you wrong. You don't expect ANYTHING (whether thanks or money). What other call were you expecting after they must have thanked you when you guys exchanged numbers.

I don't know how else to explain it to you. Let me leave you with an example, I once paid for a friend's (also my course mate) school fees anonymously, and till this day he didn't know who paid for it. I didn't do it so he could thank me, I did it cos he needed it and I could help.

I have read stories of people helping accident victims, paying for their treatments and leaving the hospital without even dropping a note on how to reach them or even waiting for a "thank you".

If you've stopped helping people because they don't show appreciation, then my brother you've been doing it wrong. The kindness thing should be in your nature.
you should learn to appreciate those that help you simple as ABC it is only good manners

Now hear me out, I'm still a loyal, dedicated and unapologetical Obidient, but I'm beginning to feel that Obi is simply too nice (r maybe too naive) for the Nigerian laissez-faire brand of politics which encourages mediocrity and "anything goes"...my point is, why does Obi have to attend every damn media hosting? It's becoming clear that despots like Tinubu and Atiku don't care about answering to Nigerians and can pick and choose their own narratives since they have all the political muscle to rig their way into power anyway, so why can't Obi just say "fucck it" and also play by the dirty rules of Nigerian politics by shunning all media outlets and doing his own "BIGMANism" since he's also a major contender as well? Obi is just too nice and unfortunately been honest, accountable and transparent doesn't pander to the principles of some Nigerians who have come to accept tyrannical attitudes from our political leaders because of ethnic and religious sentiments.

Obi should have avoided this debate since his fellow presidential contenders didn't think it was necessary to attend it, he should have just sent Datti to represent him...because his presence or not wouldn't still have stopped his growing influence anyway.
Just the other day i was thinking what if OBI is the product this old politicians are trying to sell to us , i dont trust them one bit so it can be a win win for them

Centurion101:
I write this story to encourage people to always help if they are in a position to do so, especially is the situation is dire. What goes around comes around and you might just find yourself in a situation where you Will need help from strangers and hope they help you too.

Days ago I was in my neighborhood in South West running some errands at around 9pm on Sunday when I found myself in a very busy road packed to the brim end to end with cars stuck in a hold up trying to beat the jam to get to Thier respective destinations.

I turned the ignition off since I've already spent like 20minutes without moving an inch, a few seconds later I heard a loud bang it was a speeding bike who wanted to use it's small size to it's advantage to beat the traffic, upon close inspection I realized the bike has Just hit a guy with full force and ran away.

Consequently people came out to check on the guy that was hit,he was unconscious bleeding from the back of his head and face, unfortunately the bike's force banged him right into a very big cement structure that would probably weigh a couple of tons.

Nigerians being Nigerians started praying and speaking in tongues instead of administering aid to the guy, nobody was willing to touch him, there were just shouting and saying he is probably dead and they don't want police to charge them with his death.

At this point I tried to control the crowd to disperse and at least give this guy room to breathe and get some fresh air hoping that might resuscitate him,but there were like 50people gathering there and there is only so much a single person can do.

So realizing no one was willing to help this guy I fought my way through them ruggedly to get to the guy I realized he has a broken leg and arm and he was bleeding heavily but he has a pulse and he is not dead,
I don't know what I was thinking or what power came over me but the fact that he is alive made a difference to me and I said to myself I will take him to the hospital even if I have to carry him on my back and trek there.
I asked a man to help me Carry him, he asked do I know the victim and I answered yes,he is my junior brother.

so they helped me lift him up and I carried him on my back and began to speed, now the next thing was how to get transportation,we are in a hold up and no car is moving, by this point the crowds has dispersed and left me alone to tend to my PROBLEM.

I locked my car , sat the guy close to the side of the road ,I tried to find something that could apply pressure to reduce the bleeding, then it dawned on me that a cloth will do just fine,so I removed my shirt and tied it around his leg where he was bleeding the most.

Like I said earlier the task at hand was how to get transportation to the closest hospital, I began flagging down bikes but none of them stopped out of fear until I literarily ran in front of one forcing him to stop and told him to take me to the next hospital,I was about to start begging him to not let this guy die because of fear when this guy got down from his bike offering to help lift him so we can take him to the hospital,I don't know if it's God that sent him or it was just pure luck but he helped and we put the victim in the middle and started our journey to the hospital.

On the way I checked the guy's pulse and breathing like every second, telling him he's going to live one way or the other because my work will not be in vain. As God will have it he opened his eyes but he was still incoherent and totally out of it ,but at least now his eyes is opened and he is not laying down like a dead man, that kind of gave me an atom of hope.

Moments later we arrived at a private hospital and they were just about to close, apparently they had some issues with the workers that were supposed to cover a night shift, infact there was only one doctor on call and a few nurses around so it was all hands on deck, the victim was stretched in and as per private hospital wahala they demanded card and treatment fee up front, I even begged them to at least priorities the guy's life first but they said no money no treatment,so I paid for card, admission fee and treatment, it was 33,000 naira

After payment the doctor came in with the nurses and started working Thier magic, giving him some injections , cleaning his wounds, they even plugged him up with something that aided his breathing (I don't know what the thing is called).

After a couple of hours around 11:30pm the doctors came out and told me he was stable, that he had some internal bleedings that has Been stopped and he is responding fine to the treatment, they said I can go and see him if I wanted.

I went into the ward and checked up on him,he was heavily medicated and he couldn't really say anything that makes sense,he was just fixated on my face, strolling in and out of consciousness.

I slept in the hospital and the following morning around 8am he was awake and fine ,so I went to see him and when he saw me,he just started crying uncontrollably saying THANK YOU like a hundred times without stopping, this kind of made me a bit emotional because I've not really seen a lot of grown men cry.
He gave me his phone and I contacted his family members and told them what Happened, his mother almost passed out on the call, some minutes later they all rushed into the hospital. I peeked at them through the glass window when they went to his ward, the relief and joy in Thier faces is one of the most beautiful things I've seen in my life.

I left my number with the nurses there and told them to give to the guy when he is discharged and I made my way down to fetch my car, hoping and praying fervently that the car is still there and that was it.

That 33k was the best thing I've paid for in all my life and what happened just gave me joy and relief anytime I think about it.

The guy and his parents calls me like a billion times a day, they even offered to pay me back but I refused, collecting the money back is not worth the joy I got from doing what I did.

Bro next time be careful many have tried to help amd the whole thing backfired and people dont even show appreciation now let me share my own story i and my friend rescued one his car totalled he even misplaced his iphone 13 i. The wreck we got him a cab to rush him to any hospital while we continued to look for his phone it was found under the wreckage we also got his atm card from the wreck we had to check close to 5 hospitals befoere we could locate this guy to return his phone we eventually found him his dad and step mum were already with him , we handed over the phone and exchanged numbers till today those people never called

I took the responsibility of cooking and preparing our kids. That is just by the way, she stopped having sex with me always saying she doesn't have the feelings to have sex. I suspect her of cheating because few weeks ago i heard her listening to WhatsApp voice note, a chat between her and another man. I demanded to have the phone but she refused. My wife answers calls at odd hours of the night but if i query her she would claim it's a friend or her boss at her work place. It's morethan a month when last i had sex with my wife.

I'm not harsh and I provide for my family. But my wife's behaviour ir burning me deep in my heart. I sometimes cry when alone in office or at home. Please advse me on what to do as iam pained and confused.
i would advice you seperate from her for a while maybe she will fine tune herself back ,dont let one woman kill you for nothing life will not stop

Good thread. I have left 3 ladies because of this and body odor. I wonder how grown people won't know how to take care of themselves. undecided
most of these odours from a womans private area is caused my infections , in the quest for many ladies to satisfy their sexual desires they do all sort of things behind closed doors without thinking of the health implications some use their dirty fingers to play with themselves some even use intimacy gadgets they dont wash well , some even allow their multiple sexual partners do all sort with them from MouthAction to inserting their dirty fingers and tongues into them it is really crazy out there

I have been dating my girlfriend for months now but Heard rumors that she is dating someone she was everything to me am heartbroken
The most painful aspect is that I have been there when ever she needed me, she even said a guy like me is rare.
the rate at which you guys turn new friendships into serious relationship in a very short while is really scary ,in your first year of dating someone i believe you should not get too serious or committed quickly it should be a time to carefully study and try to know where the person is coming ,how the person was raised ? their dreams and goals in life ? maybe they are just on a temporary break with their ex ? you should consider all this before taking it to the next level my own opinion though

parents and guardians need to monitor the young adults around them especially when it comes to relationships and marriages ,you can imagine all what she went through and finally lost her life at the age of 23 .Mothers especially have become so indulging and this young adults do the most ,they dont know their boundaries all because they want to earn the status of Mrs .

will you be comfortable seeing your elder brother in such situation?
Let’s be logical and unsentimental when contributing to issues like this please.

Have a nice day XX
there is no manuscript on how people should live in their marriage ,as long as it works for them fine .Many Nigerian men will boast outside to up their ego but behind closed doors they do the unthinkable some even wash panties .Kindly stay out of their business

How does hurting them back change what they did? And how does it make everything better again?
people react to pain differently , sometimes it is very okayto go extreme as long as no life is lost , in relationships amd marriages sacrifices are made but a selfish person does not see this or put this into consideration they just want to jump to the next acailable person and move on , if you are not okay with the present situation of your relationship why not pick an option of dialogue and make the person see reasons with you , seperate for awhile and see if things will still work not just deciding to embrass the person by moving on with another so selfishly that is totally wrong

What's the prestige in this?

Isn't it better to walk away silently? Revenge is a sign of weakness, no matter the form it takes.

Modified: All of you quoting me, na una sabi. Whether you like it or not, revenge is a sign of weakness. What that dude did is even childish and uncouth. A real man simply moves on and allows nature take its course. Everybody gets hurt, but a man shows his strength by ignoring what made him get hurt, not inflicting pain on the causal agent.

You know what would make this even more painful for that guy? The girl may not even show any sign of remorse and this act of revenge may not move a strand of hair on her skin. At the end of the day, he'd end up shooting himself on the foot.

Una wey dey form woke and redpillars, una nor even sabi bro code.
not everyone would react the same way you dont go about hurting people knowing the sacrifices they have made towards your development that is totally wrong

My girlfriend just broke up with me for no reason she was supposed to visit me today but couldn't make it only for me to wake up to this text
before you start gettimg serious with anyone try to a bit of digging on how they grew up , alot of beautiful ladies and handsome men are damaged , some grew up with love while some with survival , some where so oppressed they see any form of correction as abuse some are so vengeful they forgive they never forget so once you can ascertain this you know who to be serious with and know what to expect my own opinion though
