See their mouth. Which of una give the guy one kobo for im wedding? Una just dey skatta mouth anyhow! |
"Colonel" Sanders started Kentucky Fried Chicken at the age of 65 years, and he lived 25 more years to enjoy his labour. So there is no age limit. |
It is bad enough living with a woman with their wahala. I can't imagine living with my in-laws in the same house. Not even my own family members. I like my peace and quiet and don't want to be battling with characters from both sides in the same house. |
dayokanu: My first nations cup I followed was Maroc 88.We were robbed countlessly in that tournament. 1) Roger Milla's equalizer against us in the 2nd group game was a clear offside. 2) The penalty awarded to Cameroun that gave them the cup was a soft one. Roger Milla confessed years later he actually enhanced his fall and that the referee had been conned. I believe that was the first years of the simulated dives and con tactics that modern day footballers now use (e.g. Drogba's dive that won the freekick that Tiote scored). 3) In today's game, Henry Nwosu's goal would have stood because Yekini who was offside was not interfering with play. Sweet header that completely caught out Joseph-Antoine Bell in goal for Cameroun. That referee I think was later banned by CAF. Can't recall his name again: is it Idrissa Sarr or Idrissa Ba? |
As someone who represented school and university in NUGA games and even the State Challenge Cup (now Federations Cup), I used Umbro Pro Contra gloves which was the second highest rated gloves in the Umbro series. It was used by many Italian goalkeepers in Serie A. Goalkeeper's gloves are rated on several parameters including grip and adhesiveness in wet conditions. The latex padding used to make the gloves perform best when they are slightly wet. My fellow goalkeepers who used fake gloves were always surprised when in rainy games, I would grip shots that would otherwise have slipped off theirs. I used to take a bottle of water with me to the pitch and wet my gloves occasionally, but today's keepers have improvised by spitting into the gloves. I used to spit into the gloves occasionally during matches as there is usually no time to fetch the water bottle when there is action in the field of play. So spitting improves the grip. Final answer from someone who played as a goalkeeper and broke 6 fingers over a 10 year span. |
My first nations cup was in 1984. I remember the semi-final between Nigeria and Egypt. Egypt surged to a 2 goal lead in the first half and just as the half was ending, Nigeria was awarded a penalty. Stephen Keshi (yes, the same Stephen Keshi who is now SE coach) stepped up to take it. He sent it to the keeper's left. The keeper dived full length and made a slight contact with it, forcing it to the post. However, the rebound fell straight back to Keshi who fired it in the roof of the net. Egypt protested the goal saying that the rebound had put Keshi in an offside position but the goal stood. Nigeria equalised in the second half (can't recall the scorer now), and the match went to penalties where Peter Rufai as he did on many occasions (Maroc '88 semi-final with Algeria and Tunisia '94 against Cote D'Ivoire in the semis again) pulled off a heroic save and Nigeria went through 5-4 on penalties. Then we got to the final to play the star-studded Camerounians, filled with the younger versions of the stars of Italia '90 World Cup: Roger Milla, the man mountain defender Emmanuel Kunde, Eugene Ekeke, Ernest Ebongue, Mfede Paul, Emile Mbouh, etc. These guys were mostly members of the dreaded Canon Sportif, arguably the best team in Africa at the time. Surprise! Muda Lawal scored in the 10th minute and we thought Nigeria would make it. Then Ernest Ebongue wreaked havoc, scoring twice in a 3-1 victory. That was the first of three losses in the final to Cameroun, the other two coming in 1988 and 2000. Well, there you have my first Nation's Cup. |
Their own father! Unbelievable! THE HOTTEST PART OF HELL IS WAITING FOR THEM! |
Where in Lagos can I get a good service to wash a car's interiors, upholstery and also perform an atomizer defogging to rid the car of odour? |
Of all things to wear, na military camo? When they finish issuing you some serious bitterness, you will know! |
HARDDON: is it all grounds farmers sow their seeds?Don't mind him. When people like Adenuga give Obj N250million for his library, you think he does not know what he is doing? Has he ever donated such money to the poor in Nigeria? Is he not getting richer and richer? That is why there are too many hungry people and scammers on Nairaland: they know next to nothing about principles of money. |
EasyNaija.com:My father was an orphan at 13 years, and wrote GCE O/level and A/level as a ship loading boy, carrying back breaking bags of rice, palm kernels, etc for export. Got admission and God rewarded his effort with scholarships at Bachelors, Masters and eventually PhD level. We have a saying in my place that when you agree, your God will agree with you. The way you make your bed is the way you will lie on it. If you are born into poverty, you decide whether you will remain there or not. Or don't you know that many of the world's billionaires were born poor and are hard core givers? Giving is a principle of this life. It is a law that works for both Christians and non-Christians: YOU GIVE, YOU WILL RECEIVE! You can never become rich as a Christian by fasting and prayer. Money answers to giving! |
This is a regular occurrence. People have been blessed and donate a lot of cars to the church. In 2003, the number of cars was so great that many had to be shipped off to Port Harcourt and many other branches. I know a friend of mine who got 2 cars at the auction at N250k each, and from trekking levels, he suddenly became a car owner. I call this spreading the wealth. And for those who say that they should be given to the poor, ask yourself this: is a poor man better suited using a bicycle than using a car which he has to fuel at N97 per litre, service and occasionally repair, etc? Cars are liabilities and if you do not have money to maintain one, it is better you do not go near. I once had a 70 litre vehicle that I was filling every week. That is N28,000 in fuel in today's costs. How do you expect someone on minimum wage pay to afford owning such a car? Tell me, is that for poor men? Shoe get size for this life, and anyone who wears size 7 and buys size 11 shoe is asking for trouble. Wait until your size reaches size 11 before you wear size 11 shoe. E go reach all man finally, but such things are for those who can afford them. Finally, the title on the front page is misleading: these cars are mostly sown as sacrificial offerings. Only a few are made as personal gifts to Bishop and I can tell you he does not even use them. He simply sends them off for the auctions. And many of these gifts are not even from church members. |
There is a Nigerian Highway Code, and there are laws regarding obtaining of a drivers license. FRSC HAS NO POWER UNDER THE NIGERIAN CONSTITUTION TO CHANGE THE OFFICIAL AGE OF PROCURING A LICENSE FROM 18 YEARS TO 25 YEARS! This action has no depth and no basis. Road behaviour is an individual thing, and has nothing to do with age. It is an indictment on the process of issuance of licenses because what it tells us is that even if you are a crazy driver, as long as you are above 25 years, you pre-qualify to get one, and if you are 24 years and a careful driver who went to a good driving school and passed the required driving tests, you are not qualified to get a commercial license. Nigerian law enforcement agencies always have a way of turning things on their heads. |
This poster has obviously not travelled to the South South to see bad roads. This road is very very ok from what the pictures are showing. I have driven in GULLIES disguised as roads. Try driving the East West road and you will know what we are talking. Haba mana! |

I try to consider my wife's feelings and ask myself what I would do if I was in her situation. If I had a Masters degree, would I be content to sit at home day in day out? Answer is a capital NO! I do not subscribe to women being housewives. It makes them mentally lazy, and you immediately see that the lack of social interaction in a work or business setting makes them stop taking care of themselves and reduces their self worth. I prefer a woman who works either in an office or in her own business. |
ebamma: Armed robbers like businessmen are just trying to make a living,am an armed robber in stay in ajegunle im the one that snatched that your car am about to sell it to one alhaji here in surulere, dont bother looking for me or the car u hear,Try this in the US and Homeland Security will be at your door in hours. Creep! |
Another fool parted from his money. In so far as his family are in the police, kiss that money goodbye. You see what befell the Aluu 4? If you physically approach him, he can easily plot with his police family members and they will rope you in as a robber who went to steal. Would be very bad for your family to see you paraded on TV with bullet holes as a robber when only God knows what truly happened. Best bet is to pray to God to touch him to pay you. |
Ganys: Good & better, That was how i got the Contact number of the current Kwara State GovernorGood one. I have got nuggets of info buying corn and pear like this. Hygienically, I have never had any problems. I do not think that germs can survive in newspapers. At least not the very bad ones. |
Jesus Christ uttered a word about the centurion's servant without even being anywhere near the vicinity of the sick man. There is no distance in the realm of the spirit. You need to know that there are pastors who will make you, and there are "pastors" who are out to milk you. You should pull your wife out of that place. There are too many hungry "pastors" around, looking for ways to milk people of their hard earned money. Take the N100,000 and do something tangible with it, instead of feeding a fake pastor. The bible says that he that does not work should not eat. Simple. |
Opeee o! So Stephen Keshi has the sense in dropping that mistake-in-waiting captain! |
Yobo's best days was as a righ-back, not a central defender. The central defence is not for error-prone defenders like Yobo. How can I forget that header to a Greek striker in our 6 yard box in SA 2010? Rubbish! |
India has strict laws on money transfers. Better confirm well before you take the leap. |
Hazard should have kicked that disgraceful pig's balls into his stomach. Not a Chelsea fan, hate Chelsea thoroughly but I like Hazard. And I hate spoilt kids who think they can get away with anything because of their parent's positions in society. |
femmy2010: What shipping. Line isit coming on?I probably forgot to add that it is coming from Japan and will likely not be via Grimaldi. I will confirm and get back to you. |
femmy2010: N200k would get it cleared. How about a Toyota Celica 1999 model (RHD to be converted in Lagos)? |
Dr Muzungu: buju-234... How about the endurance? How much fuel it burns in 4 hours? What is the average wing load with all that fuel? How about 2-way radio link, capable of low-speed connection from the base to the aircraft (to send commands) and high speed in the opposite direction (to send the video/videos, photos, other data)? What range would such link have? How heavy would the electronics on board the plane be? How about all-weather conditions capabilities? How about auto-landing options etc...?There is always room for improvement. Before the Americans went to the moon, did they not suffer setbacks? What happened to the Apollo 1 mission? Were lessons not learnt from that disaster? We always want to act as though human inventions are always perfect from day 1. For me, this is a wonderful invention and there will be improvements. Kudos to NAF! |
Many of these mechanics are just the piss of the earth. |
gulfer: Stagger, what is wrong with your MS, are you in Lagos? I use pro-scan and can help scan the car and get the fault codes out. Reach me on 08090632874. As for Mechanic, with the scan result, Google solutions and direct the mechanic appropriately. So what stops me buying an OBD scanner and doing the diagnostics myself? I need a complete one-stop shop please. |
Where can I get a good Mitsubishi mechanic in Lagos to look at my Montero Sport? I need one that will conduct OBD on it and sort out all issues. |
I need a good Mitsubishi mechanic to look at and sort out any issues with my Mitsubishi Montero Sport. If you are one or anyone can make some recommendations, I would be willing to see the person next week. |
ola_pluto: 20 seconds to ref whistle, you're in opponent's half, Onazi with the ball, SHOULD HAVE GONE TO THE CORNER FLAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ola_pluto: 20 seconds to ref whistle, you're in opponent's half, Onazi with the ball, SHOULD HAVE GONE TO THE CORNER FLAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Can't believe it. So many scenarios to have rescued the game. a) Musa should have taken the ball to the corner flag. b) Ike Uche should not have tried the one-two. Hold the ball and try to weave and draw a free-kick. c) Ok, they lost the ball, and it was a 3 on 4 situation. Obuabona should have held off making the tackle. Ok, he did not hold off. He went in. Now if you go in for the tackle in that situation, you either win the ball, or take out the striker. The worst you get is a yellow card. He did neither. d) Now the Burkinabes play the one-two and they are in the 18 yard box. No more tackles can be made by Nigerian defenders at this point. The team on the ascendancy, trailing by a single goal with seconds to go on a goal scoring opportunity will get the referee's sympathy on any tackle made at that juncture. Yobo and Obuabona both should have taken responsibility for the final clearance. You come in the way the two of them did, you are not coming to trap the ball. You are coming to clear it, and this is where they both made the mistake; trying to trap the ball coming in at full speed. That was where it was blown. Basic rules of defending I played with in the early 90s in school. Can't believe that professionals in 2013 cannot do what they needed to have done to seal the game. |
