And after this and the shooting death of Lucky Dube in a carjacking, we are still wondering why Oscar Pistorius chose to shoot first and ask questions later?
SportsRe: A Nigerian's Open Letter To Oscar Pistorius. by stagger: 6:14pm On Feb 24, 2013
No one has heard the facts. People just read all manner of rubbish in the media and then pass judgement. Just the way Europsort flashed that TESTOSTERONE WAS DISCOVERED IN HIS BEDROOM (implying Oscar was quietly doping), only for the policeman who made that statement in his affidavit to admit that it was too dark to read the label on cross examination.

Too many half truths all over the place.

I got the car I paid for with lots of headache. They are genuine but with customer service that can be downright unprofessional. They need to be more organised.

SportsRe: Nigeria Ex Eagles Star Okey Isima Dies At 56 by stagger: 12:39pm On Feb 19, 2013
I recall watching Nigeria vs Tunisia in Lagos in 1985 where we won 1-0 courtesy of his well taken goal. Nigeria was in crisis after the NFA suspended Stephen Keshi and other key players for reporting to camp late. We just could not break down the Tunisians until Okey Isima was introduced late in the second half and he provided the only goal of that game.

Unfortunately, we lost the second leg 2-0 and that put an end to our Mexico '86 World Cup hopes. Great player. He will be missed.
CelebritiesRe: Goldie Died Of Drugs - P.M News: Could This Be True? by stagger: 5:26pm On Feb 15, 2013
This is one thing about Nigerians. Stories and stupid rumours. Meanwhile no autopsy has been done to determine cause of death. Why are Nigerian journalists so insensitive? If I were Goldie's family, I would sue PM News for some crazy millions.
PoliticsRe: Reps Reject Motion To Ban Alcohol Sale by stagger: 2:14pm On Feb 15, 2013
This is what happens when you get some of these aboki nas who made 2 credits, scored 130 in JAMB and allowed to enter the university with ELDS. They come out and make statements that lack merit.

Even Jesus turned water into wine because He knew there are occasions for such stuff, and there are people who will drink it and companies who make it that employ hundreds of thousands of people.
Car TalkRe: The Case About My Stolen Car Which I Found. by stagger: 11:53am On Feb 15, 2013
FLORIDACAR: @Spider/ckenneth.., Remember that old proverb says " He that cannot ask cannot live." In a country such as ours (Nigeria) one should always ask Question why am I doing it?
Is any functioning judicial system? Nope! None. It's always who u know or matter of highest bidder..that get acquitted in our court of law. .. That been said it came to my first question
Why are u doing it" Why in the world risking your life and flogging a dead horse? If a guy could buy a stolen vehicle and ride freely in a city in a day light, do u think such a guy Is not bad enough to visit your house at dark of night? Leave it all for God and let it be. I lost 2 new/Tokunbo cars myself just last year in Nigeria in a day light at the gun point.. I was upset, I was mad, furious and down at same time. People went to police on my behalf and all that I told them I left it all for God. Because I know it's a jungle out there in Nigeria no justice for ordinary man. Why? I refuses to allow Nigeria police to turn me to cash cow. So my brother spider let the sleeping dogs lie.
Exactly my point. I have been in a police division in this Naija where someone who came to make a report had the case turned against him and he was thrown into the cell. On inquiry about what he did, the Inspector said and I quote verbatim:

"my friend, don't you know that the suspect can turn to a complainant and the complainant turn to a suspect?" And he was shouting angrily in the process.

That was when I lost total faith in the Nigerian Police. So OP, if a group who obviously stole your car, cleaned out the car history by changing the chassis number and other details, are riding the car openly and nothing has happened to them all this while, you better think hard whether anything or any property in this life is worth the effort. When God said we should leave vengeance for Him, he probably knew of what Naija will turn into when He said that.

Very sad indeed. But what I can't understand is comments such as this:

nellaluv: juju from prezzo's wife village cry
R.i.p babe.
It shows the level of abysmal ignorance in our society where everything is blamed on the esoteric. This is why the white man has dominated us and will continue to dominate us for a long time to come.
Car TalkRe: The Case About My Stolen Car Which I Found. by stagger: 8:01pm On Feb 14, 2013
OP is about to go headlong against a car snatching syndicate. I would advise him to think twice about what he is getting into before he crosses the Rubicon. Many of these bad guys have police collaborators. I even know of a soldier who was arming robbers in Kaduna before he was caught years ago. Then of course how can those of us who were alive then forget ASP George Iyamu and his connection with Lawrence Anini's gang in the mid 80s?

My advice: let it go, especially if you are a family man. Some things are just not worth the trouble!

But if you must go on with it, forget the police. Raise a team to track these guys and waste them all one by one.
Foreign AffairsRe: Pistorious Arrested For Shooting Girlfriend Dead by stagger: 11:30am On Feb 14, 2013
Imagine someone sleeping and then surprised by an unknown person grabbing you in bed in the dark. When you reach for a pistol in those few seconds out of panic, how many times does the individual press the trigger? Most of us will fire until the magazine is empty before we put on the light to realize what has happened.

Yes, babies were happy and healthy in Lagos in 1967 but they were being starved to death in the South East and South South as the civil war raged. What a paradox.
FamilyRe: Dear Nigerian Men That Don't Help With Housework, by stagger: 4:36pm On Feb 13, 2013
Michky: You call him wicked man because he refuses to do house chores? Interesting. I think you're the wicked one. Knowing your duty and yet trying to over-burden the husband who's burden already is immense. Lets put it simply: You're a weakling. Not a man. You forget that these same women will turn it to their right when you refuse to do those same tasks tomorrow.

Question is: Will you divorce me if i refuse to do chores?
If you think helping your wife occasionally with house chores is a thing of weakness, then you are a fool. How many years have you been married? You are one of those men that think that women are beasts of burden who must be made to work until they drop. Wicked men everywhere.

Fact is many of these lazy men who are hiding behind women must do ALL the housework are men whose parents had househelps and all do everything in the house. In my house growing up, there was only one female: my mum. There came a time when she was sick and endured a very lengthy spell in hospital. Now tell me, you wicked man, if you were my dad then, would you wake her from her hospital bed to copme and cook, do your dishes, wash your clothes, clean your house, etc while you just go to work, then come back and hit the beer parlour to watch Champions League match, then come home to demand your food?

What nonsense! Marriage is a joint venture covenant. The man is the senior partner and the wife is the junior partner. There is nothing that says the senior partner cannot help a junior partner out with things once in a while. All this is a product of our wicked culture that sees women as property and not as human beings.
FamilyRe: Dear Nigerian Men That Don't Help With Housework, by stagger: 1:53pm On Feb 13, 2013
~Bluetooth:
Do the chores and she ends up as a groupie.

Well don't know the kind of home y'all grow up but where I come from,my oldman keeps the family pride and that is enough of a housework to us.Doing dishes and scrubs only show a weak man who would rather please his partner to buy her favor.A man is gotta be a man not a wimp.

There are several ways to please a woman IMO.
You are a wicked man! End of story.

You want your wife to die of housework, when she has a job and has to look after the kids: what type of nonsense is that? In my house, I wash the bathroom and toilet and this is something I enjoy doing right from when I was a kid. Occasionally, I sweep and once in a long while, I do the cooking. Sometimes I even pity my wife when she comes back home from a stressful day at work looking like she wants to collapse.

My helping with housework has never reduced my status in the house as the head of the house. Rather it has enhanced it.

How a modern day man whose wife goes to work (hard work I must say) and has to still bear the children and look after them should be be left to do all the work in the house beats my imagination!

SportsRe: The Last AFCON Final Nigeria Played In by stagger: 10:32am On Feb 10, 2013
Gwekzy: Its now 13 yrs ago at the National Stadium, Lagos where the rugged indomitable lions of cameroun broke so many hearts..

Its still fresh in my memory. I remember Eto'o scored first and a terrible mistake by Ikesherunmu(not sure of d spelling) gave them a two goal lead courtesy of Patrick Mboma..

At this point everyone was stunned not until Chukwu gave us hope with a well taken goal..Offcourse i ll never forget that piece of brilliance from our ever entertaining Austin Jay Jay Okocha that drew the game level at the stroke of half time...I remember me screaming my heart out..i'll never forget that Goal..

the 2nd half came and one thing still baffles me its how Aghahowa missed from a close range with just seconds remaining..Truth be told those Hulks from cameroun gave us a terrible time in extra time..although i remember papilo getting past Rigobert Song with an unbelievable piece of skill...

Then came the penalty shoot out that completely broke me..I remember papilo and Ikpeba missing from the spot.. Immediately Rigobert song scored the winning penalty kick i burst into tears..I still remember Oliseh crying like a baby and so many others..

13 years after and it still hurts me...But I know come sunday this set of Clique ll make us Proud..I really cant wait to celebrate..Burkina babes cant stop us..Super eagles till Jesus Comes
Your account of this match is filled with errors.

Ike Shorunmu (this is the spelling) did not make a blunder. Patrick Mboma nutmegged him. Almost every goalkeeper in the world has been at one point or another.

Jay Jay's goal came 5 minutes into the second half. It was Chukwu Ndukwe who pulled our fitst goal back on the stroke of half-time from a sweet pass by Kanu.

The closest misses of the game were Ikpeba's header that grazed the post in the first half of extra time, as well as a shot from an acute angle by Tijani Babangida which Alioum Boukar had to dive backwards into the goal to bring out.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: What Is The Worth Of A Phd Financially? by stagger: 9:24am On Feb 08, 2013
A PhD gives you the opportunity to become a lecturer. Given that lecturers now earn appreciable salaries with the opportunity to get research grants and make money from writing and publishing academic materials, and over a guaranteed 35 year period, I think getting a PhD makes a lot of sense in Nigeria.

The only thing that will make a lecturer lose his job is gross misconduct. If I had the opportunity to take up a salaried job, I would rather be a lecturer than work in a bank where i will be asked to go and be chasing millions in targets, and without any job security.
SportsRe: Moses A Doubt For Sunday's Match - Keshi by stagger: 4:49pm On Feb 07, 2013
Without him, we all saw how lame our team was in the first game. Keshi made a tactical blunder. He should have pulled him out when we were three goals up to save him for the final. Mali never looked like getting back in the game and Ahmed Musa eventually showed the stuff that saw him move from Kano Pillars to Holland.

vc online: shout up, if you don't have a comment. How many jamb approve secondary school (center) in your area been equip with computer and power plant? incase they have power failure.
Since you asked to "shout up", I will: are we supposed to wait for the next 100 years for every secondary school to be equipped with computers before we start the CBT and move along with global trends of cutting cost, cutting down environmental degradation by reducing the number of trees cut for paper and adopting a globally standard exam format that ensures that the chances of cheating are virtually nil? Do you know that if JAMB had adopted the CBT 10 years ago, we would not be talking about post-UME that has become an avenue for universities to milk prospective students?

You may as well have asked Nigeria to wait until all the masts and base stations have been built across Nigeria before GSM was introduced! Nonsense!

EducationRe: Reps Suspend Jamb’s E-Test, Summons Education Minister by stagger: 1:34pm On Feb 06, 2013
Not surprised that it is a Kano man spearheading this attempt to take us back to the stone age. How many trees have to keep getting cut down to produce paper for more than 300,000 JAMB candidates a year?

The Northern oligarchy are the problem of this country. They never want progress and they keep wanting to send us back. It is 44 years since the Americans went to the moon, and yet we are still conducting paper based testing for an exam with complaints of mass cheating. What will it take for us to purge this country of these enemies of progress? angry angry angry angry

Better to confirm before it is too late. Don't want to tell you the story of 2 of my class girls in school that got married to guys living in Europe and SA. They became widows after one year.

The worst thing is for one's daughter to get hooked up with someone who is into drug business or 19 moves. You never know how far the damage could go.
