The same people. |
In 1998, the opportunities were virgin so he made it. You cannot drop out of school now to do the same thing: it will backfire. Such success stories are the exception rather than the rule. I had a chance of starting an IT company as far back as 1995. It would have meant dropping out of school but I did not have the funds and there were no investors. So dropping out of school for me was not an option and I am happy I did not. In retrospect, I would have made a lot of money but then, the circumstances were not right and maybe it was not my chosen path. I think many of us can identify with this guy's dream and life story, but all fingers are not equal. |
kawkab: If you are traveling from Benin to Jos, your best bet is to join arik Air from Benin Airport to abuja. From Abuja you then take a Jos bound vehicle. but if you decide to go by road, this is your route Benin to Onitsha (1hr 15minutes) or Benin to Enugu Direct through Faith Motors (2:30minutes) from Enugu you can get a direct vehicle to Jos that would pass through Night Mile - Nsukka - Otukpa - Markurdi - Lafia - Akwanga - Sanga - Forest - Jos (7:30minutes)Good directions, but you underestimated some distances. For instance, Benin to Onitsha through the Benin-Asaba road and then across the Niger bridge will take about 3 hours. That is assuming there is no hold up on the Niger bridge because it can be a nightmare. I have once spent 2 hours at that spot looking at the bridge and yet unable to cross it because of traffic. Then from Onitsha to Enugu is 2 hours confirmed: that road is bad at several spots and currently undergoing rehabilitation. So it is important our travelers know what to expect. Pray seriously to Jehovah God that there are no breakdowns or delays on any of the single lane roads because that is when the marginally bearable will become highly unbearable. |
kayswag100: thanx man 4 taking ur tym 2 direct me.Please for the sake of your children, find a place to lodge probably in Makurdi. Benin to Makurdi will take about 8 hours. Lodge there, then set off next morning from Makurdi to FCT using New Nyanya transport services or Pleasure Travels. Best bet for you. 1 year old children should not be made to endure 20 hours on the road. Frankly. |
ogbeche77: Na wa ooo... With all this directions, it either you are a luxurious bus driver or you assisted in drawing Nigeria mapBrother, the only states I have not traversed by road are Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna, Kano, Jigawa, Yobe, Adamawa, Taraba, Borno and Bauchi states. I have either lived in or have been to all other states in Nigeria (22 states + FCT), and most of this in the last 10 years. It pays to know your country. You never know when the information comes in handy, especially when you take bypass routes. |
Religion of peace indeed. |
kayswag100: folks dat have plied d Benin-Abuja-jos or simply Benin-abuja rd. Hw EXACTLY is d rd?Brother, if you can, find money and fly: do not subject your 1 year old children to that stress. Your route is as follows: Benin - Agbor - Auchi - Okene - Ayingba - Ankpa - Makurdi - Akwanga/Lafia - Abuja. In essence, you will do a complete C movement from Benin to Ankpa, then resume the northwards movement again. Alternatively: (I ACTUALLY THINK THIS IS SHORTER): Benin - Asaba - Onitsha - Enugu (one vehicle), then Enugu - Nsukka - Ankpa - Makurdi - Akwanga/Lafia - Abuja. You will spend close to 20 hours on the road. To avoid your suffering, you can break the journey into 2 by stopping at Nsukka or Obollo-Afor to pass the night in a hotel, then resume the torture the next day. |
Bros, Walk away and let the man and your ex-girl (who was never your wife for her to mortgage your love and affection over the years for a few currency notes) move on. Then use that experience to work your way to riches. |
The worst thing you can do is to do business with government if you are not connected. Stealing of ideas and proposals is a constant thing. Sadly, even private institutions such as banks and Telcos and those that work there also steal people's ideas. |
tunapar: @ochEk, guy if u av d money, take flight from calabar to lagos or ibadan(if ur journey is a matter of urgency) then board a bus going to ilorin cos I don't think there is any airline than plights calabar-ilorin route. GoodluckOn point. Take a flight from Calabar to Lagos, then hit Lagos - Ibadan - Ilorin. Your best bet if you want avoid doing a Paris-Dakar rally here in Naija. |
donroxy: wher una pass through and how many hours una spend and d condition of the road ?I believe that road goes through Jeba and Bida: very bad road. |
double08: Left for abuja from Benin city yesterday and it took us approximately 14hrs(10.00am sunday to 2.30am monday) to get to abuja via markudi/lafia route and the road from Markudi to Keffi through Akatanga is a death trap because the numerous sharp bends will and surely claim lives when it gets busy.It is Akwanga and not Akatanga. And please tell us the state of the road: are they potholes or car swallowing gullies on that road? |
Is the alternative route through Makurdi ok? |
Please a husband should not strike the wife no matter the provocation. Your wife is your own body. |
I have said it: until people start killing family members of policemen, they will not stop. |
Stupid journalists everywhere. Pilots hardly look for work for long because their skill is so specialized and highly sought after. |
obowunmi: You can teach at a Uni without a PhD. All you need is to have connections. Probably for most things in life. You must be living in the stone age. You can no longer teach in a Nigerian University without a PhD. Stop spreading misinformation. |
Tim Cook must be laughing his head off..im don hold dis people for work. |
TOTALLY BANNED DURING THE DAY. |
AmBeautiful: did anybody notice the table? AmBeautiful: did anybody notice the table? So he should be seen soaking garri and groundnut abi? Have you ever seen any labour unionist who is poor? As a President of NLC, he was getting allocation from the ILO if you don't know...in US dollars. Why do you think people hustle for those positions? You no know say fringe benefits dey am? Even me sef was eating free food in school during our solidarity days. So what is the joke? |
No wonder his defensive ability has been diminishing. He has been bumping pelvises with her since. ![]() |
Some ministries should be scrapped. Too many redundant workers. |
Once woman don fall for you (real love), there is no going back. |
The other day I was somewhere in Nasarawa state where someone was distributing N10 notes to the Almajiri kids there. Come and see the stampede as they rushed for the money. Filth everywhere. Old women with swarms of children who have not had a bath in days begging for anything: money, food, clothes. Then I drive back into the FCT and into some of the popular joints in town and the contrast could not be more startling. My biz takes me around the country and I have seen the best and the worst of Naija. The song by Rick Ross is a mirror on our society. All those abusing Rick Ross know the way to our President's Facebook page. Why una no snap pics of the real Naija and show the man so he sees the country he has presided over in the last 3 years? |
Everest9: lagos is betterSuch blanket answers do not work. I am in Abj, and my businesses are thriving. |
Very laudable. How many of your serving senators have such programs in their constituencies? |
solidbroda: what message? Is it only in Nigeria that we have poor people and shanties or slums, or only in Nigeria that we have corrupt govt officials? Or is it only in Nigeria that everything seems awkward? We have loads of ghettos and shanties, corrupt govt official in America. But they don't portray such in music videos. Let someone sing about America that it is poor and lots of people are corrupt, then if that person won't be destroyed by the C.I.A or FBI .I am sure you prefer the videos that portray ladies shaking their low waist than videos that remind you of Naija's reality. And whether you like it or not, the American government takes better care of its citizens than in Naija. There is no comparison. |
Who deserves more verbal abuse? Your "I had no shoes" President who says that the subsidy protests were stage managed OR A foreign musician who went straight to the ghetto to show Naija as it is (as opposed to our own musicians who prefer to talk about shaking bum bums, going down low, chopping my money when many children around them and in their village are yet to eat a meal in 2 days, etc)? THOSE ABUSING RICK ROSS SHOULD GO BACK AND THINK ABOUT THEIR LIVES! |
I just love his "Dr Love" segment on his comedy show on Silverbird TV. |
The reason why the OP is broke is because he has refused to put his mind to work. He is designing sites for people who are using their sites to make money. the guy who designed the site for one of my businesses charged me N20,000. Till date, I have made more than N5m from that site. As a result of that N20,000 website, I am on the verge of getting a foreign partnership that will pay me multiplied millions annually. So while my web designer will probably only make N20,000, + N10,000 annual web hosting fees, I am making the money. USE YOUR WEB DESIGN SKILLS TO CREATE A WEBSITE THAT SELLS ON-DEMAND PRODUCTS. That is the only way your web design skills will make sense. |
