hi stagger,
please i need help with going into kerosene business but also want to ask if you have any idea about used engine oil business. any ideals will be appreciated.
i dont mind paying for the kerosene manual, but would be very grateful if you can give it to me for free
I am pretty much known by my friends to be unequivocal in my decisions. If I say it will not be available for free again, it won't be. I got your SMS. You can call me by 9pm UK time (which should be the same time as us right now).

The paid version has some extras which the free one doesn't. Those paying have a right to get far above what some few persons got for free.

please i reside abroad and i have a savings acount with bank phb, but i really wonna know if my account is save.is it posible that bank workers could withdraw your money from your account?,i dont have any card for the savings account,
will apreciate coments on this ,
secondly, what happens if the troubled banks are sold, i mean those of us that have account with the troubled banks, if they are sold, wil our accounts remain sam ?.

thx
It is possible that bank workers can withdraw money from your account but even if it happens, it can be traced and since it is an in-house issue, you will be re-imbursed if that occurs.

Sale of any troubled banks is not liquidation. It is simply transfer of ownership. What will happen is that a new investor (s) will buy off the equity that the Fed Govt has acquired by the cash injection into the troubled banks. The move will actually be better for customers because the process will produce the best hands to manage the banks, so the era of giving out loans to cronies of the bank executives at the detriment of businesses that actually need those loans will hopefully come to an end.

@ stagger,

You haven't answered my question. You have not picked up my calls and the one week grace of calling has expired.

Can I use your license in Lagos area?
Yes you can do so but you will have to provide the usual KYC stuff like your govt.issued ID and utility bill as well as business address before you can do so.

We like to know who we are dealing with.

am good bro, auto biz is abit slow now so i need back up biz, i got your number i'll call you as soon as i land 9ja
Auto biz only works when people have extra money to spend. But fuel biz, everyone (the rich and the very poor) need to move around, use generators for power and cook. And the products must be moved from point of production to point of consumption. So it is always in demand.

Pretty clear where those who need to diversify should be going.

Please check your email now. Sorry for the omission. But this attitude of Nigerians always trying to get things through the back door has sufficiently pissed me off that no one will get any more free copies.

Hello Fellow NL,

Some people had written to my email individually to get Stagger's manual. Now that i've read it here that he intends to make it commercial, i do not think it will be right to send it out again unless he gives us permission.

Oga Stagger, can we get grace of 10 more people? I also think that people must be able to convince you of its use. I believe some people are guilty of collecting free things just for the fun of it.

Meanwhile, i am looking to buy a 5000 litre tank in Lagos environ. If you have one in your area that is no longer in use, kindly contact me asap.
Thank you Delampy. This is typically why it is very hard to help Nigerians. Criminal by nature. Knowing fully well that I have stipulated conditions including the restriction of unauthorized distribution of the manual which is my intellectual property, they now want to get it through the back door.

Delampy, I will like to have the names and email addresses of those who made such requests. As a rule, all my e-books and manuals are protected intellectual property and if possible, I will like to make examples of these criminally minded Nigerians who will stop at nothing to get things through the back door.

Like I said, no more free copies. I was considering charging N5,500 for the paid version, but I will bring it down to N3,500.

The payment will be done online. I am working on the webpage right now.
BusinessRe: How To Attach A Downloadable Files On My Website by stagger: 4:18pm On Jul 03, 2010
if it is a document, convert it to pdf and just upload it to the normal public_html folder on your website control panel's file manager.

Create a text link on the page you want like this (www.yourdomain.com/filename.pdf). Once anyone clicks on the link, the file will open. The visitor can then save the file, or use the "Right Click ---> Save page as" link to download the file straight away.

@Oga Stagger,

I've received the manual. Thank you so much.

Th manual throws up some questions though. I am not sure this forum/SMS can address these but i'll ask anyways for all other persons interested.
1. For the consultancy section, the Please note at the top and the item 3 of the consultancy services contradict themselves. Kindly clarify. In simple English, does it mean we can give you money and get returns and your fee will be N1 per litre?

Also, how do we control stealing by the truck drivers and when products are delivered into the tanks? This question is for somebody interested in selling to retailers.Say you buy 11,000 ltrs product and want to deliver to 3 customers. I hear that drivers & cronies open a valve at the back and discharge some products before moving.

Many thanks for sharing. I will appreciate if you allow calls as this will answer most of the questions.
To anwer point (1), yes I do not collect money from anyone to manage business for them. But what I am saying is that if you want to use my license to operate, then you pay for the use of the license at N1 per litre (buying price).

Stealing control is easy. There is a device called the T-Bar which is calibrated. It is dipped into the opening of the compartment on top, and the measurement of the product on the bar recorded on your way bill at the depot/refinery.

At point of delivery, you need to use yours and dip it to get your own value. While there is a little differential of about 1mm to allow for evaporation, larger differences indicate tampering.

I will allow calls as from 6pm to 9pm for a period of one week on 08027601655 for clarifications.

Fhemmy, check your email late rtoday.

@ stagger,

I am sendng you right away. I have been getting some offline training too and I will be grateful foy your manual. My email addy is kay_lamp@yahoo.com.

The only area of concern is the DPR license. Do you need a a license to be a retailer? I can't seem to reconcile that with all these old women I se selling them all over the place. I also learnt these women/sellers usually form a cabal. Is it true?

Thx a lot!
If you have a large facility, you will need to have a DPR permit. Because when there is scarcity, the police and DPR can carry out raids on facilities suspected of being used for bunkering or hoarding products. If you do not have a permit, you will have major problems.

My facility has been visited by the police and Task Force Petroleum Products Distribution in the past, but I had my permits visibly displayed and I was let go.

It is better to have it before you start. Do not take chances.
Music BusinessRe: I Need An Entertainment Lawyer .my Artist RAN OFF on The Day Of Video Shoot by stagger: 11:11am On Jun 24, 2010
I have a brother who is a music producer that has worked with several well known Nigerian artistes. He presently is building the careers of two young artistes.

HE HAS INVESTED MILLIONS OF HIS OWN MONEY INTO THE ARTISTES; producing, marketing, shooting videos, etc.

He learnt early enough that his success is tied to the success of his artistes. He is not like many so-called managers out there who are out to rip off artistes with draconian contracts.

If an artiste feels safe with a producer or manager, he/she will stay. Sheep will always stay where the grass is green, a fact that is apparently lost on many of you in the business.

Better go and settle with your artiste!

My inquiries number (08027602655) is configured to receive SMS. Once I get your SMS, I will reply indicating when we can talk on phone. I had to do this to stop these crude oil people from pestering me with non-functional deals.

So just send an SMS and you will be replied. For those who want copies of the manual, I will send them out on Saturday morning.

pac2:
Is it profitable to buy, hire a truck and supply to ready retailer? will there be need for a permit from DRP?
They are all profitable. Just depends on how much cash you have at hand. For all cases, you need a DPR permit.

Fhemmmy:
I am amazed at your knowledge of the business.
For an older lady, i think the retailing would be the best idea, except one is sure that the driver will not send her to an early grace.
When is the best time to call you, ammo halla at you
The way to go for your mama, is to actually enter into a supply arrangement with a MAJOR MARKETER. That way,she pays them, they do all the loading and supply logistics. So she will not have to be going to the depot herself, and will not have to rely on having workers carrying her money to the depot looking for products.

But to be able to enter into this arrangement, you need capital for at least 11,000 litres. No compromise there! If you want, I can give you information on how to go about the process. You will surely need a DPR permit for this.

It is not a question of sendng information by email.

Palm tree farming is CAPITAL INTENSIVE, and only the experts can give you all the info you need. You are better off going to the Nigerian Institute of Oil Palm Research (NIPOR) to get the info you are looking for.

BusinessRe: Is N500k Enough To Start Kerosene Supply Business? by stagger: 2:39pm On Jun 22, 2010
For those that want to supply retailers (PEDDLING).

You need a truck of about 13,800 litre size minimum. If you have the money, you can get a 30,000, 33,000 or 45,000 (rare; only Mobil and NNPC seem to have such trucks). You do not need to buy one. You can lease, but you need to write the lease agreement properly as well as get the truck details (picture, calibration meter, logo, transporter's name, etc) as you will need this for the registration of the truck with DPR as part of the peddler's license requirements.

Register your driver with the PTD (Petroleum Tanker Drivers) sub-branch of NUPENG. Once you have the DPR Peddler's permit, also register with the Kerosene Peddler's Union, get your capital, go to any of the depots where they have products (of course has to be the closest to your supply base) and start your business. The money is made via regularity of supplies (as in targeting lifting maybe three truckloads weekly or more) rather than on maximising profit margin per litre. Get my drift?

For those who want to retail.

You need to get a good location (where the population density is high). What I mean is you are better off selling in a place like Agege with loads of middle and low income earning people who definitely must use kersoene as cooking fuel and other lighting purposes) than siting it in a place like Victoria Island.

Then construct your tanks. You can start with a 5,000 litre capacity (which is where N500,000 can actually suffice, but not for higher quantities). Go to the depot and lift your products. If you want added protection, you can apply for and get a DPR permit.

I forgot to mention that in both scenarios, you need a Tax clearance, Vat certificate and a sponsor (could be a major or independent marketer) for you to get the necessary permits.

This in a nutshell is how it goes. Of course, the process is not as simplified as I have stated it. I just tried to breakdown the process for everyone's understanding.
