I have lived in both cities. Take PH. The rents are reasonable, transport is relatively lower than in Lagos. The water quality is better too.
Most people think food is cheaper in Lagos. It is a fallacy. |

But i dedicate my ftc to every nairalander that observing this ramadan fasting and Christians that recently celebrate easter..... You have shown you are a civilian in the realm of the spirit and you have never waged any spiritual warfare in your life. My aunty was once in the village and was taking a walk at night and fell behind two men. As soon as one of them mentioned my dad's name, she decided to follow them from a distance and even passed where she was supposed to go. Topic of discussion: how did my father stay alive after a heavy spiritual manipulation to take his life? This was two weeks after my dad made a dramatic recovery from a 6-month hospitalization, which we confronted with 30 days of intense fire prayers, because doctors were at a loss as to what was really wrong with him. So if you like, keep on with your ignorance. You will soon find out by experience what this is all about. |

nairalanda1: Well, back in the day when Kumuyi came up against TV, TV was a whole lot different than it is now. There were a lot of programmes that some Nigerian christians considered immoral...and there was no way to change the channel
While some christians, like my parents, would switch off the set when immoral shows came on , some like the Deeper life people completely removed TV. And not only deeper life...some christians even oversease removed tv.
What changed? The advent of satellite and digital TV and a mulitplicity of channels.
Instead of immoral and moral shows being shown on one channel...suddenly you had whole channels devoted to clean and whole channels devoted to unclean programming (from a christian perspective). Add the fact that you now have christian channels with christian programming (back in the day, NTA used to have just 30 minutes on a Sunday, until they started selling spaces...and even then it was about 4 out of 12 hours self)...and then you had things like parental control button, which helped a lot with self censorship.
SO, yeah, tv became safe enough for deeper life.
It gets better....people now have a lot more control over what they view. Not like before when it was one channel, and they would show a clean kids programme by 4pm, and a foreign entry at 7.30 where a man and woman are making out and doing y'know stuff in the first scene. The internet has even changed the whole game self...some even say tv may become obsolete. Sir, TV back then was very sane compared to what people are faced with today. There were no shows that presented nudity in the day time or evening. Not even the music videos. Tell me one music video of the 70s or 80s that showed nudity the way it is plastered everywhere today. |

Slimm01: This is a black mamba snake. Very very venomous. Wrong. Black mambas get their name from the black colour of their mouths, not skin. They are typically grey, ash or brown-coloured. Hard to kill as they are super fast, can climb trees and raise themselves several feet in the air. |

iamoyindamola: Yes but FMCs I doubt health centers or private hospitals have anti venoms available more over you have to know the type of snake that bite someone to know the anti venom to administer
But it can be locally treated, my sister was once bitten by a viper she was lucky we have some village people around He man removed the venom by cutting her with blade all over the leg Nigeria uses a polyvalent antivenom, effect against viperidae (vipers), elapids (cobras) and dendroaspis sp (mambas). |

You will see that it's still the same as today. I can remember vividly in 1979, I try saving N20, I couldn't do it in 3 months. That's to tell you how difficult it was to get money then. If it were easy, you father would have bought all the land and own all the estates in Onitsha. N20? The highest gift I got as a child then was 50 kobo! There was a gradual devaluation before Babangida jargon of economics policy, but the real point of no return started with sfem. My father bought a Peugeot 505GL at the cost of #6,000 ( six thousand naira only) in the year 1985. Bought a Bedford lorry 5 tons at the cost of #11,000 the same year. I can categorically remember my father and his friends saying that the vehicles are now costlier than they expected. Now in Nigeria, what can we do with any amount up to 999,000 naira? There are some coded electricians that can alter the operations of some of those meters. However, they would not do it for every and anybody. It's highly coded. I know someone in particular, morning and night his air conditioning units are always on. In fact, most times even with no one at home, once there's power from the grid, you will hear both outer units working full blast. All who participate in such, both electrician and user, are all booking their places in hellfire in the judgement to come. We will all answer to how we lived to our Maker. |
