RomanceRe: I Have A Boyfriend But I'm Falling In Love With Someone Else. by stanliwise(m):
Happy989:
I just created this account because this issue is really bothering me and I need mature advice. I have a Nairaland account but I couldn't use it to post this thread because my boyfriend knows of that account.

I started dating my boyfriend months ago and even before we started dating we've been good friends. He is intelligent, funny, has a great personality and takes good care of me. When he asked me to be his girlfriend I was so happy, because he is such a great guy. My boyfriend is in his final year in the same university that I attend. I'm still in my second year.

There is this guy in my department who is very good looking and also intelligent. He isn't jovial and extroverted like my boyfriend, but he is cool in a very confident and attractive kind of way. We started talking recently and he told me he finds me attractive. I told him that I have a boyfriend and he didn't seem fazed and never talked about the subject of my relationship. He still complimented my body and looks from time to time even though I didn't respond to his compliments in a way that indicated that I was in support of his actions.

During this covid-19 break we began talking more often over the phone and through texts and I always found our conversations interesting. A lot of times we'd talk till midnight. He is very witty and creative with words and I always smile whenever I see his texts or receive his calls.

Few weeks ago we talked about sexual fetishes and I realized we both had similar fetishes. This made him even more interesting because I found myself able to talk about stuff I hadn't talked about with anyone before, not even my boyfriend. This guy is a not like anyone I've ever met before. His views on life are very unique and original and his personality is so complex and his sexuality is very intriguing.

The problem now is that I am beginning to develop strong feelings for this guy. When he calls me on the phone I don't wish the call to end. I find myself talking to him for minutes not minding the time. He is beginning to occupy my thoughts a lot and I don't know what to do. I still love my boyfriend but there is something about this guy that just seems to draw me to him.

I don't want to do anything that will break my boyfriend's heart.
Girl don’t provoke our peace jare.
Which one is you want to move but don’t want to break his heart.
Just like saying you wanna go out without getting out huh huh

You must break his heart to get out, no other easier way, just do it in the least heartless way you can.

I hear guys saying all girls are gold diggers at any small request, but why refer to a girl as a gold digger if you can not care for her needs.

Many people venture into relationship these days and most male partners do not understand their role, one basic role is your ability to provide for your household, if you can not do this then you are not a man but a weakling, if your female partner request for money most times it is not to "gold dig" rather is it to test your financial capacity and reasoning.

I wonder how some guys think "if she loves me she won't ask for anything". Excuse me are you all right? She loves you and intends to spend her life with you so she is trying to assess what your financial limits are so she can add to it or know how to request.

Imagine a boyfriend not being able to pay for his girlfriend's hair or even buy her a new shoe or even just give her money to buy foodstuff, and saying " am I her parents?" Well you are more than that because the moment you asked her into your life, you also asked her needs and accepted her as your responsibility.

PLEASE STOP DATING IF YOU CAN'T LEARN THE MAIN responsibility ATTACHED TO IT

RomanceRe: Do I Tell My Boyfriend He's Not Smart ? by stanliwise(m): 6:51pm On Jun 07, 2020
cynosuree:
Good morning. This issue has been bothering me for a long time, and I feel like it's too sensitive to ask for second opinions from people I know so I figured I'd maybe ask some strangers on the internet.

I've been with my boyfriend for about 6 months now and he's everything I ever wanted in a man. Physically, he's gorgeous, and he also loves me alot. He's kind, he's patient, communicates effectively and all. You know, all the good stuff.

But here's the problem, he cannot hold a conversation beyond "what are you doing" , "what did you eat" (and all that boring stuff) to save his life. I'm not even talking about intellectual conversations like quantum theory or anything, normal conversations about stuff that's happening around the world or around us. Anytime we try to, it usually fails spectacularly. He either ends up missing the ENTIRE point and saying something totally unrelated, or he just waits for me to say what I think so he can go "Yeeaaaa that's true" , leaving me really pissed.

He has absolutely NOTHING intelligent to contribute to any serious conversation, and this hurts me alot because it is a HUGE turn off and I'm slowly losing interest in him. It's a very tricky situation because he does/did well academically, he graduated with very good grades but that's about it...nothing more. I didn't notice it at first - before we started dating, or I would never have dated him because it is a deal breaker for me.

I have considered telling him but I don't exactly know how to approach the conversation without being rude/insensitive, I know telling him would really hurt him and I don't want that. I've also thought about learning how to live with it, because no one is perfect right? Maybe I'm asking for too much?

The latter option is what I've been doing and it's gradually killing me. I fear that I'll fall out of love completely with him and end up hating myself for ruining a good thing, because he's a really good guy .

I'd like to know what you think
Take our time to tell him what you expect him to say when next you people are discussing. Like teach him how to respond. Anytime he is straying off. Call him to attention and explain what you like to hear.
Not everyone knows how to make a conversation.

You are being unnecessarily analytical, in the real world nobody cares about the internal structure of things, your result is what matters.
Why re-inventing the "internal structure", when it has already been done for you.

If you look under the hood, everything has an internal structure, so should we start re-inventing all of them ?

A good programmer keeps things as simple as possible, as long as the result is the same and it doesn't affect performance.

Besides, I never said loops are bad, I use them practically everyday. My point is in some cases there are faster ways to do things than using loops directly.
Since you mentioned the word “directly” then it is fine.
Loop is the heart of programming language

I know loops are great but as one goes on in programming, you would have to find quicker ways to solve problems .

Something as simple as sum() would sum up the scores, depending on the data type or origin.
grin grin
Maybe you would check the internal structure of sum();

Now matter how advance you’re in programming, no one ever evade loop

Imagine you are trying to fill a bucket with a bowl, taking water from a big drum .
You would keep scooping from the drum with the bowl until the bucket is full.
So a loop is a repetitive action until the aim is achieved, once the aim is achieved, the action (in this case, filling the bucket) is terminated.

This is a layman simplified real-world explanation .

In coding, an example where it can be used is :

For example you have a system where you want to sum up all the scores of all the courses a student does :
You can loop through all the scores and keep adding it up until its done .

Although there are better ways of adding this up instead of using a loop, but that's one way you can use it.
I don’t think there is a better way other than loop. Loop is the backbone of working with collections. It can be decorated to what we call iteration and the rest but the inner structure remains a loop.

what you’re asking for is a bit tedious job but on a concrete note you need to go to your blogger setting and register the domain you bought.

And after that you need to go to your cpanel and set up a confirmation DNS zone incase google wants to refer your blog.

1-100

I want to read the numbers in that range. I can follow 3 ways: while, do while and for loops. this simply mean I want to read from 1 to 100, reading this involves iteration i.e repeating. so, you are going start from 1 which is the starting point to 100 which is the target point. I am going to use Java as I'm a Java dev. let's go.

for(int i=1; i<=100; i++){
System.out.println("Number : " +i);
}

The above code will print: Number : 1 to Number : 100

that is for for loop

int i =1;
while (i<=100){
System.out.println("Number : " +i );
i++;
}

this is while loop

int i =1;
do{
System.out.println("Number : " + i);
i++;
}while(i<=100);

this for do while loop.

For the above code snippets you gonna get the same result that is, Number 1 - Number 100

There is another loop called foreach or enhancedfor loop
for(int  var : refVar){
System.out.println(var);
}

that's the syntax.
Op wasn’t asking for syntax or implementation but justification for a programmer to understand a loop.

But anyway I consider your approach a pragmatic one though

Good day nairalanders, I started learning Python some weeks ago and I'm kinda having problems in understanding 'loop'.

Like what is it used for
What situation do we need to use it

Pls can someone help me out, it's really drawing me back
for example if you need to print 1 - 1000. Can you help with any method of doing this without using a loop?

If you were asked to print a calendar, is there any way to do it without a loop.

If I give an array of numbers with around 250 element and I told you to multiply each by 5. Can you suggest any other way to accomplish this task without loop.

Loop is the heart of computing, computer are better than us in speed and repetition and accuracy.
This three hallmark is the essence why anyone would learn how to program and use the advantage of a computer.

Many apps and program you use today make extensive use of repetition and shockingly your OS(windows/Linux) is a one big Unending loop that run different statement on each iteration.

So also a loop is what keeps a system on and running.
A loop is what keeps a server running.
If you can solve a task with a loop then you understand computing.

let me tell you something. When a girl start fvcking diicks at an early age, it takes the grace of a thousand years for her to reason well... I grew up observing this myself not that I was told.. I have a cousin who I will call is a "misfit" in that aspect. She is a divorcee now or will I say separated from her husband. Several I have seen . "look I don't mimick my words I say it as it is.. It is truth that will take me to grave
I understand you clearly. People often get frustrated to advice people simply because they feel the person wouldn’t listen to them.
The truth is this, we shouldn’t expect anyone to change because we advised them, instead of advising people and telling them what to do to change and start behaving in a way we see fit.

Why not instead discuss things with people and share and open their mind on consequences of their actions and how things could turn out in the future. What the actions means and story of people who has escaped and who where trapped.

By this approach we are only helping the victim analyzing his/her action and its importance is that it help victim to become more aware and responsible for their doing. If the awareness is something that the victim becomes so taken by then he/she could decide to change.

So the lesson here is that we should learn to counsel young adults rather than judge and command them on how to live their lives or leaving them alone to their poor judgment.

You should strike a balance between minding your business and keeping a sane and safe world.

We were minding our business until corona came from China to everyone and the story changed.

The world is a global village. As Africans we live a communal life, though that is being mordernized.

We need to think of the knock on effects of our actions. If the girl becomes frustrated and misbehaves and does something drastic. I doubt if anyone here on Nairaland will be affected but you will be affected to some extent.

Please, do what you can to help her but be sure you and your family are safe.

Pray to God to guide you.
I like your way of thinking. People sit at the comfort of their home and dish advice to people without putting themselves in the shoes and assume if it was their situation. Minding business is good if the after effect of the business has no negative nor positive impact in us.
But when the business has side effects on a long run then it is best We get involved to the extent we can and tackle it.

When you can help do as much as the help you’re trying to render will on a long run have a positive impact then there is no harm in trying.
He should just ensure he don’t judge her by her way of life, he should just help her open her senses to how things could turn badly in life later on for her.
