A40: Unlike that Fulani nomadic herdsman now playing for the Lakers It sounds funny coming from a guy who supports a team that has 3 and a half superstars, and whose team also can't win with 2 and a half superstars against a team with 1 superstar. |

A40: If KD started the series I struggle to see the Raptors winning more than 2 games. That whole Kawhi is the best two-way player flies out the window with KD on the court. With him out now Kawhi can eat on both ends of the floor
Without KD the Warriors are done. With him they at least have a puncher's chance Lol, it's so easy for you to say this because KD is out. At least you people have something to leverage on when the trolling starts pouring in proper And this also means that all your titles weren't well deserved, because you people wouldn't have won if it wasn't for those injuries to opposing players |

Eruditor: So too many turnovers and Curry is cold from 3.
The FT disparity though. Refs...wake up. You mean they should just dish out FTs for nothing, like the kick out Stephen did while attempting that 3? Wake up bro |

Green, Siakam and Gasol, and Lowry have combined for 5 field goals and the Raptors are only down by 4 going into half time. |

Basilona: Hello Everyone,
I am Idongesit Basil, a Market research analyst with Sagaci research, a Pan-african market research company. An ardent but silent follower of this thread. And I must say this is one of the most stimulating threads on Nairaland.
I write because Sagaci research is conducting a focus group discussion session as it relates to sports and sports fandom. The key focus of the session is to understand how sport fans in Nigeria(like yourselves consume and interact with digital content in the context of professional sport (with extra focus on basketball). And I believe a lot of the contributors on this thread (esp. eruditor, steady 896, Karnthornheart, A40, khan ben)would be suitable participants of this session.
To this end, we request your kind participation in the focus group discusssion session.
The session detail refers....
Date - Thursday 13 june, 2019 Venue - Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja Time - 11 am - 1pm
The session is billed as an informal discussion where there are no right or wrong answers and everyone’s opinion matters.
Your participation in the research is voluntary. You may choose not to answer any or all questions, and you may stop at any time .
A small honorarium will be afforded participants for their time.
Please anyone who is interested in being a part of this session should kindly signal their interest with their emails/phone number/or contact me on 08182052486(text/whatsapp). or if there's a more suitable/private way we can reach you
Note: Mods please permit to do this as I am not sure if I am breaking any rules with this message

Who noticed how Steve Kerr has turned Curry into a spot up shooter. The guy barely touches the ball on offence, running around the whole time, then BOOM, he makes a 3. |

Eruditor: Past it but then qualified to how many playoffs after he left? For whatever he lost in offense with Kyrie and Love he gained with defence with Tim and Della.
Cavs were losing game 1 with Kyrie. Then won games 2 and 3 without him. This narrative about how weak those players are is rubbish. Kerr had to adjust to play around the defense Cavs were throwing with those players which is why Iggy became a starter in case you have forgotten. Iggy played games 4-6 as a starter and won FMVP. Only player in NBA history to start only 3 games and win that trophy.
2017 season when Cavs were down 2-0 courtesy blowouts? The one they compensated him by fouling every GSW starter in game 4 to extend the series? The same one Love and Kyrie played in? Ok.
The very same players who had big games for Blazers, Bucks, were the players Lebron had. There is no doubt GSW had better players but it was not because of any injuries. That was the same roster that beat Celtics and kept most of the GSW games close. I don't remember Bron averaging 45ppg which means other players were scoring and with the 2017 roster you lost 4-1 so what is the big deal if you lose 4-0 w/o Kyrie?
You people should stop making everything about Lebron abeg. Congratulations. You just did a good job of telling us how Della and Mozgov are better than Kyrie and Love |

A40: There is talk of him being rushed to be ready for Game 4 (still think it's a ruse to keep Toronto guessing) but if it's legit I hope this doesn't end in tears. It's a good sign too that he is moving on his own but that injury didn't look like a calf strain ab initio.
From what I read up, his recovery period would suggest it was a grade 2 strain (assuming it was a calf strain true true) but the ice pack location odikwa suspicious I can imagine what it feels like, for your best player to be battling with injury in the NBA finals, the tension and drama it brings... Will he play? What kind injury is it? How long 'til he returns? All these questions and worries can literally bring unrest and gloom to the entire dub nation. |

Eruditor: I agree with 2007.
LOL @ the rest.
KD is supposed to be the best player. Klay the 3rd best. Looney the best rebounder.
So take away Lebron, Love, and Tristan and let Kyrie play alone. With JR Smith and co. That is a fair comparison. If you add 2 all-star calibre players in the mould of Draymond and Boogie, then you have a point. |

Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 2:08pm On May 31, 2019 |
Eruditor: I won't be too worried though. Except the ref ball is glaring again, we should take game 2. When the lead was down to 4 in the 7th min of the 4th Q, Draymond's layup should have been a goal tend but they called it a block. Then in quick succession they gave Curry 2 fouls, gave Klay 1, gave him a tech and put us in the bonus. Siakam then shuffled to pass the ball to the corner for D Green who hit that 3 and basically sealed the game. Nigger, chill!

Eruditor: Guy forget Drake. This game was poorly reffed. I think the team pretty much accepted it after the Klay tech.
The only good thing is, unlike the Rockets, the Raptors players were not actively fishing for calls. Refs were just giving them at "key moments". Dude, I begged you to get your own TV show or something Please, let that ref complaining poo end with the conference finals. This is the Finals man, you wouldn't want to remember it as one where the refs helped your team get swept, you should remember it as the Finals that categorically marked the end of the GS dynasty. |

Roland17: During the 1st quarter, the Warriors started out playing a high tempo offense but deep into the 2nd they just lost gas and could not maintain that high tempo especially in transition and to me, this has to do with the rust. This is a very experienced team and I expect Kerr to make some adjustments but they can not lose game 2 for any reason. Lol, I like how y'all are really using this 9 days as an excuse, like it was 9 weeks or something. You guys are running out of catchphrases |
