"sweetie pie please clam down... Jumbo said massaging her back.
"leave me alone!!! Stop sweetie pieing me!!! She scream with a shrug.
Jumbo stare at her open-mouthed for a while.
" sweetie pie why are you saying this? What have I done wrong? Jumbo asked touching her shoulder and pecking her lips.
But his romantic act earned him two super hot slaps. That force him to lie down on the bed.
" I said don't touch me you disgust me!!!
Are you deaf? Don't you understand English? Chizzy said screaming and glaring at him.
Jumbo sat up with his hands still glue to cheek.
" you slapped me? Jumbo asked massaging his cheek with his hand.
"yes I slap you.... Chizzy answered.
" "you slap me, a whole me? Jumbo asked again with open-mouthed.
" yes I slap you and I'll do that again and again and again. She answered glaring at him.
Jumbo stare around the room for a while and focused his attention back on chizzy who's now lying on the bed.

" chizzy it seems you've forgotten who I am and what am capable of doing. It seems I have been too soft with you for you to have the nerve to raise your dirty flirty hand on me?
Chizzy didn't utter a word. She just glare at him and hissed. She turn to the other side of the bed backing him.

All of a sudden he bounced on her like a hungry tiger, beating her to stupor. Thereafter he extrude her from the bed to the floor.

He then order two of his boys to pick her up and take her to the lavatory. The boys did as they were instructed and carry her to the lavatory at extreme left in the room.
After a while of silence Jumbo fixed his eyes on me.

"you witch!! You made me to hit her. I will make sure you suffer a slow painful and horrible death. I don't just understand why Nora would fall for someone like you. It is not like you're hunk or the hefty type. It still marvel me how she rejected a well endowed guy like me for a nobody.
dammit, I am well endowed in every ramifications. What's it she saw in you that made her to so much love you.
A lot of guys had tried and did all they could to win her love, to get her attention and to make her theirs forever. But all their efforts was in vain, it yielded no fruits. Then out of the blue you surfaced and won her heart. The look in her eyes shows she's crazy and stupidly in love with you and....she can..do..d..o... he stutter and pause. I didn't utter a word of response to his question.

Though I am trying to make her forget you and fall in love with me. But she's proving to be difficult. It is like you guys are spiritual and emotionally bonded. She seems to be feeling the pains you are passing through. I notice some bruises on her face and some part of her skin. Just like yours and that's very strange. It is a mystery I am yet to understand. Anyways I won't give up, I won't stop trying. Diane and chioma your hostel mates are always there to assist me.

I stare at him in awe...

"oh come on stop looking at me like that. Do you think I was joking when I told I am everywhere in this campus? Yes, chioma and Diane have been my spies and I Pay them well for every information they pass to me. They've all advised me to do away with you. At least that would make her to forget you and she will be compel to love me.

"you and your boys won't get away with this. I said in a sobbing voice.
He laughed loud, stood up from the bed and came the sofa and sat down beside me.
" I get away with everything. He said this and ordered his boys to take me to the lavatory too.
They drag me into the lavatory, same place chizzy kept and closed the door.

Here I am stuck in the lavatory with the Traitor. I stole a glance at her unconscious body which was lying a distance away from me. The lavatory is quite a bit large, large enough to accommodate four or six more persons.
Some minutes later she woke up and sat up. She look around the lavatory in awe, probably pondering how she got into the lavatory. She tries getting up on her feet to no avail. As she keeps falling down on the floor. She was obviously still in pains due to the terrible beating she received from Jumbo.

She glare at me, hiss and mutter something I didn't get clearly.
After a very long period of silence........
"here we are two of us locked in the lavatory. If I may ask howhow do you feel to be treated like an animal and locked in the lavatory like a dirty stinking piece of trash by the one you love and cherished? How do you feel loving a Casanova who doesn't give a shit about you? do you feel been beaten to stupor by your so call Honeywell, honeypot or whatever you call him. I asked breaking the silent.

She stare at me speechlessly for a while.....

"how dare you ask me such questions? That I am stuck here with you doesn't give you the audacity to ask stupid questions. Just keep quiet, mind your business and stay away from me. Beside you caused everything. You are the reason why he beat the crap out of me. He wouldn't have raised his hands on me. She finally answered with a glaring eyes.

"Oh, gosh I can't believe you're still defending him! Come on girl don't be naive. Surely you're not naive enough to believe every sweet words that he must have been feeding you. Wake up, open your eyes and see him for who he really is. He's a monster in a human skin...

"Oh, leave me alone!!! Be quiet. I thought I told to shut up and mind your business. Don't you understand English? I love Jumbo and I'm ready to take any shit from him period... by the way what's giving you the audacity to talk me?

" what an irony, loving someone that doesn't even love or treat you like a lady.. Dear wake up to reality Jumbo is in love with Nora. He's only using you and when he's done with you, he'll dump you like a trash.

She laughed out loud... So loud that I became puzzle... She stare at me her face curved in a sardonic smile....

"oh, Charles you make me laugh. Come on Charles, do you really believe Jumbo would leave me for Nora, after you've gone? Do you think he's really in love with her?

I stare at her speechlessly waiting for her to continue...

" oh you've suddenly turned dumb right? Is okay.. Jumbo don't love her okay, he's only after her money. Nora is the only daughter of one of the richest and influential business man in Africa... Her dad is worth £800 billion pounds. And guess what? She's the state governor's daughter.

I stare at her in awe, open mouthed....

"oh, she didn't tell you. Probably she don't want to reveal her true identity to you. Though nobody knows she's the governor's daughter. But my honey was smart enough to uncovered her true identity. He's only after...... We I mean to say. We are only after the money....

"you guys won't get away with this...
" says who? Charles, we aren't really students in this school okay. Our mission here is to lure Nora and make her to fall in love with us. I and Jumbo had been married for two years now and our union is blessed with a beautiful adorable daughter. You are an obstacle a very stubborn one. We just have to take down... It's still a mystery to me the way you made her fall crazily and stupidly in love with you... What we had been trying for three years now to no avail. Like a fairytale character you showed up and automatically won her love. The smile on her face and the looks in her eyes whenever she talks about you, is so amazing. But that'll end tomorrow.
So I'll advice you to start communicating with your creator and...........
The lavatory door opens, two of Jumbo's walked in and dragged chizzy out of the lavatory... Leaving me alone in the lavatory.

Some minutes later they unhood my head. I look around the well furnished master bedroom. I saw Jumbo sitting on a king-size bed at the extreme corner of the room. Beside him was a lady in bikini lying on the bed. She looks so familiar, but I can't remember where exactly I saw or met her.

"Good morning Charles, how was your night? Jumbo asked with a sardonic smile.

I glare at him and hiss, turning my gaze away from him and the salacious racy dressed lady.

" oh come on Charles don't be rude. He's greeting you, be a good boy and answer his greeting. . The lady aid in a musical and sonorous voice. But her face was curved in a sardonic smile.

I didn't answer her, I just glare at her and heavy a sigh.

"oh Charles stop this nave attitude of yours and act like a mature guy. Don't make me to believe you're a overgrown baby boy. Everyone in the room laughed at his jokes. After a while of waiting for my response he continued.
Okay it is fine, it seems I know what is wrong with you.
Snake!!!!

"yes boss.... One of the men answered.

" Please go to the kitchen and get him something to eat.

"okay boss.. He answered and walked out of the room.

"Charles my guy I know you'll be pondering why we changed our location right? Jumbo asked still smiling.

I nodded in response to his question.

" alright what happened is that our old location was compromised. I received a tip off call from one of my guys that our location has been compromised and some teams of heavy arm policemen from the Anti-kidnapping unit and soldiers were on their way to get us and rescue you. I don't know how they got know about our hide out, but I swear nothing can save you from me. I just want to let you know today is your last day on earth. So I'll advice you to make peace with your creator and enjoy your last momen on earth.

Jumbo was still talking when snake walk into the room holding a tray. He set the tray down on the table and force me to sit down on a sofa facing the table. He handed a glass of juice drink to me which I rejected. He drop the glass on the table.

"I know by now you must be very hungry. So I asked my sweetie pie to prepare something special for you to eat. Jumbo said, giving him (snake) to open the plate.
He open the plate of fried rice and chicken and walk back to his initial position.
I glance at the food in disgust and shrug.
" no thanks, am not hungry. I answered.
Jumbo gaze at me for a while giggling like a girl.

"oh Charles you can't be serious. The food is specially prepared for you by my sweetie pie and you're here telling me you're not hungry. What's that supposed to mean? Do you want to die of starvation? Jumbo asked still giggling.

" nothing, I don't feel like eating anything. I responded.
He stare at me open-mouthed for a while and said.
" now I get it, you think I poisoned the food right?
I didn't utter a word, I just glared at him.
"I'll take that for a yes. Look Charles poisoning peoples food or drink is not in my dictionary and it will never be. In fact I considered it to be an act of cowardness. Those who make use of it are cowards. I kill with my bare hands and I've been doing it for years I can't remember. So your case won't be different okay. So be free and enjoy your last moment on earth.

"Charles just have a taste of it. I bet you'll love it. The food is not poisoned okay. The lady added.
" are you guys deaf or something is wrong with you upstairs. I said I'm not hungry. Don't you guys understand English?
Jumbo and the lady giggle.

"oh you make me laugh. Anyway why am I even begging you to eat? Some hours of starvation won't kill you. Like I said earlier I'll kill you myself and no power on earth and in heaven will save you tomorrow. Remember I warned you to stay away from my baby, but you took my warring and threats for granted. I love Nora and nothing will change my love for her. I've killed few guys who tried to keep us apart and yours "Charles, won't be exceptional.
" Love indeed. How can you say you love someone, when a cheap LovePeddler is lying next to you.

She stood up, rush towards me like a furious tigress and gave me two thunderous slaps on my right and left cheek.

"how dare you call me a LovePeddler? She asked angrily.
" aren't you a LovePeddler or do you prefer "vixen? Another hot slaps landed on my cheek.
" sweetie pie please stop don't hit him again. Jumbo said.

"Honey well, I don't know why you're still keeping this guy alive. You're getting too soft for my liking. Allow me to finish this guy right here, right now.

" chill chizzy, one step at a time. He's free to say whatever he wants to say. After all today is his last day on earth. By 12noon tomorrow he'll seize to exist. So please come back to the bed.

She glare at me for a while, hiss and walked back to the bed.

The moment I heard "chizzy" I remembered the place I met her. I saw her in Nora's room two days ago and it was on that same day Jumbo boys abducted me. Nora had introduced her to me as her friend and hostel mate. But her facial expression wasn't a friendly one. She glared at me and walked out of the room. I ignored her rude attitude because I wasn't there for her. Though Nora pleaded on her behalf. She told me not take her silly attitude to heart. Three hours later Nora see me off to the gate. I saw chizzy beside the gate with her phone glued to her ears. It was like she was having a serious conversation with the caller. So I waved at her as I and Nora walked out of the gate. But she didn't respond.
Now I understand what Jumbo meant when he told he he has spies all over the campus. I stare at chizzy as she walk back to the bed.

"hey why are you staring at my sweetie pie like that? Do you like her butt? Jumbo asked.
I didn't utter a word.
" just tell me the truth do you like what you're seeing? He asked touching chizzy butt and her breast.
I ignore him again.
"look if you desire her I'll give her to you right here, right now. All you've to do is to say the magical words" I desire her" and she will be all yours. He said patting her on her back. But she shrug, staring at him in disgust. I can also forgive you and set you free if only you'll leave Nora for me forever. I'll let you go.

"there's nothing in this world that'll make me leave Nora. Even if it cost me my life. I will gladly die for her. As for this LovePeddler, nothing in this world would compel me to desire you or love you. Even if you happen to be the only girl in the world, I'll never choose you. How I wish Nora knew the kind of person you are. Dirty salacious vixen. I said angrily.

Chizzy wanted to get up from the bed, but Jumbo held her back.

***Two weeks later***
I was walking home one evening when a black van drove up to me. Three hefty men wearing bandanas on their faces alighted from the van. They grab me and forcefully pulled me up and placed a hood over my head. They drove for a long time and stop. They dragged me into a building, which I later discovered was an uncompleted building. I was forced to sit on the ground. They tied my hands and my legs.

I can't believe I have just been Kidnapped by an unknown persons. It is like a dream. It is like what I see in the movies. But this isn't a dream, neither is it a movie. The reality is that I have been kidnapped. My abductors took my phone and everything in my pocket. I was lost in the world of thought when I was taken away by sleep.

The next morning my abductors woke me up. They untied my legs and dragged me to another corner in the building and push me hard to the ground. I felt pains on my right hand and my legs hurt. They hold my hand and helped me to sit up.

"Please sirs, I want to make use of the lavatory. But I received no response. Hello, please I want to make use of the lavatory, the restroom am press. I need to have a wee. But still they didn't answer me, it was like am alone in the room talking to myself. I can't see them due to the hood on my head, but I can feel their presence.
After a moment of silence they pull me up and dragged me outside. I can feel the ray of the sunlight and also the smell of freshly cut grasses.

" oya piss fast no waste time. One of them said rudely.
When I was done they dragged me in and force me to sit on the ground.
"Please who. Are you guys? I asked. But none of them answered me. Please who are you guys, why did you bring me here? Who sent you? I asked again. But this time I received a blow on my face and a thunderous slap on my cheek. They fisted on me like fierce lions. I lay down on the ground mourning in pains.

" this boy no make us kill you before your time o! Nobody give you permission to talk. One of them said.

" But i only asked a question, who are you........ I received another slap on my cheek.

"we say make you no dey talk, we no won heat your voice again. Abi you deaf?
I heed to their warning and kept quiet
An hour later they remove the hood from my head. My vision was bluntly for a while. I look around the room to see six hefty men on bandanas all around me. They were with guns, staring at me in a way I can't explain.

A familiar face enter the room and walked straight towards me. He pause and squat adjacent to me.

"hello Charles, we meet again.
I stare at him open mouthed" Jumbo!!! I exclaimed.
"yeah that's my name he responded.

" Jumbo, what have I done to you? Why did you and your fellow barbarians........ I received another terrible beating before I finish my sentence.

They were still fisting on me like fierce lions. Jumbo waves his hand signifying for them to stop.

"see question. Charles swear you don't know why you are here? Charles swear you don't know the reason why I kidnapped you? He asked smiling sardonically.

I heavy a sigh, spitting out blood. My face is now bloody.
" no I don't. I responded in a weak voice.
"so you're still denying not to know Abi? Alright let me refresh your dull memory since you are dummy. He pause and continue.
I warned you to stay away from my baby, but you refuse to heed to my warning. You took my warning and threats for granted. You think am a toothless bulldog right? I told you am a scorpion and scorpion don't give up. Now see where your stubbornness has landed you. Jumbo responded.

"But the person in question doesn't love you. She doesn't have any feelings for you. Nora only sees you as a friend. So don't get it twisted. The reality is she's in love with me, we are both madly in love with each other. So you can go and hug the nearest transformer in your area. I said glaring at him.

I receive another received a thunderous slaps alongside beatings from Jumbo and his barbarians friends. They punch me to coma.
"take this fool out of my sight. I wonder what Nora is doing with a lowlifer. I just wonder what you have that I don't have in multiple. Perhaps you must use a juju on her to make her love you this much. Because the Nora I know can never fall in love with a nobody like you. I know she's not in her right state of mind. nevertheless I will do everything to make her fall out of love with you.

I woke up once again to find myself lying on the floor. This time around my hands werent tied. Only my legs were tied together with a strong rope. I managed to sit up, resting my back on the wall as I thought of my next move and how to survive. Of course I was very lucky to still be alive. I felt it was just a matter of time before jumbo decides to finish me up for good.

I was still busy with my thoughts when hefty man walked in with a plate of food. As he dropped the plate on the floor beside me, I drew back and stared at him suspiciously. A plate of white rice and stew was the meal he brought for me in a plastic plate. I shook my head with disgust and looked the other way.

I advice you eat this food because I dont know the next time you will be served again he said rudely.
please whats the time? I asked.

2:30pm he responded.
are you really sure? I asked. He sighed and left the room without another word while I shook my head and thought of how to escape.

Later in the evening Jumbo entered the room holding a fancy nylon bag in his hand. He walked straight towards me and dropped the nylon bag. He squat, glaring at me without a word. I also glared back at him.
"My guys told me you refused eating the food given to you some hours ago, I want to know why? Jumbo asked still glaring at me.

I sighted without saying a word.
" do u think the food was poisoned? Jumbo asked again.
But I didn't answer him.
"come on Charles I can't poison you, I can't do such a thing. I can't poison anyone, if I want anyone dead I kill the person myself. I don't believe in poisoning ones food to get the person dead. In fact those who do that are cowards. While making use of poison when you've the hands to do it yourself?
So Charles I will advice you to eat what ever is given to you okay. I don't want you to starve yourself to death okay. I will kill you myself when the time comes. So enjoy your meals until the hour of your death. Jumbo said smiling sardonically.

"how do you intend to get away with this evil act? Kidnapping is a seriously crime and I am sure you know the penalty for those caught and found guilty of the crime? I asked.

"Who cares? Charles I am above the lam .I am the law.

" Jumbo nobody is above the law. The law is greater and it is superior to everything in this country.

Jumbo burst into laughter..
"oh Charles, don't be naive. Don't tell me you believed in the constitutional laws of this goddam country? We are in a lawless country, this country is a joke. The system of government is a big joke. Everything is a joke.
Besides it may interest you to know that my dad is the chief Justice of his country. So you see, we are the law.

I stared at him open mouthed for while.
"Please stop looking at me like that. Just have it in heart that your country is a joke. He patted me on my back, he stood up and walked out of the room.

I heavy sigh and open the fancy nylon to see what's in it. I saw a package fried rice and six bottle water. I quickly open one the medium size Eva water and empty the content into my stomach. I was so tasty that I didn't realize when I emptied four of the bottle water into my stomach.

The following morning the hefty men walked into the room. They covered my face with a hood and dragged me into a van.
They drove the first few kilometers in silence, when a call came into one of my abductors phone.
"good morning boss, yes we got the text, yes we are on our way to the new location. Then he ended the call.
After what seems like a like", forever" they stop the van and pulled me out of it.
They dragged me into a building and force me to sit down on the floor.

***Some months later***
We became tight friends after that day. Our intimacy grew stronger and stronger everyday. The familiarity between us is so irresistible that one would think we have known each other for years. in fact many thought we were lovers, because we are always together and we do things together.
I am still marvel at the way the mystery dream stopped after my encounter with Nora. But I didn't tell her about the dream.
One Sunday evening while chatting with Nora on whatapp. I received an Sms from an unknown number. I pause my chat with Nora so i can read the content of the text.

"you have what belongs to me and I want it back". I was dumbfounded after reading the content of the Sms. I am not in possession with anything that does not belong to me. Neither have I taken anyone's thing without his/her permission.

So I ignored the text and resumed what I was doing earlier before the text pop up. Probably the person must have sent it mistakenly.
Some minutes later, I heard a slight knock on my door. I silently stare at the door for while to be sure if I actually heard a knock. I checked the time on my phone screen and heavy a sigh.

"Who could be knocking on my door at this hour of the night? For goodness sake is almost 12 midnight. I said in my mind. I got up from my bed and plod to the door.
I was surprise to see no one at my door when I opened it. But I saw a package wrapped with a red gift-wrap, with my full name attached to it.
I stare at it open-mouthed, pondering who could have dropped the package and left without a trace. I pick it up and unwrap it to see what's inside it. I saw a note and a rubber black scorpion.

"stay away from her, stay away from my baby. Failure to do it, will be cataclysmic. Remember only a stubborn fly follow the corpse to the grave. A word is enough for the wise. This is not a threat, it is just a friendly advice". After reading the content on the note I was dumbfounded. After staring at the written and the well designed rubber scorpion for a while. I sigh, walk straight to the trash bin and dump it there.

The next day I and Nora went to the school restaurant to have our lunch. We were having a lively conversation, when a man in a white top and a blue D&G designer jeans came to where we were sitting and sat down smiling sardonically. He's average in height, chocolate in complexion and probably may be in his late twenties or more.

After a moment of silence.
" buddy, how may we help you? I asked.

He glare at me and said "boy just keep shut am not here for you, I came here for her. Pointing at Nora. So Nora he's the one behind your silly attitude towards me right? So it was because of him you quit our relationship? So it was because of this idiot you said am rude and arrogant?
Nora glare at him and said " Jumbo please leave our presence now before I do something you will regret..

" so it has gotten to this? So you are now defending him? Nora it seems you have forgotten am a scorpion and scorpions don't give up so easily. Look boy I'm warning you to stay away from my girl okay!!! I repeat stay away from her!!! Charles a word is enough for the wise.

I stare at him in awe pondering how he got to know my name. "how did you know my name I asked still staring at him in awe.

" Charles, how I got to know your name doesn't matter okay. What you need to know is that I have syndicates all over this university. So I am everywhere, my eyes are you. I don't just know your name, I know everything about you. Jumbo responded.

" Jumbo I said get out now, leave us now before I loose it. In short am already loosing it get out now!! Leave us alone. Nora said glaring at him.

" is okay I'll leave just chill. You know I don't like seeing you like this. Just calm down. But please tell him to keep off from you baby. If you know you truly like him keep away from him." You are mine forever" whether you like it or not. My love will be chasing you everywhere and anywhere you go. So Charles if you love your life stay away from her. Don't allow your stupidity to lead you to your early grave. Don't lost your life all because of a girl. He said in fierce.

He stood up and walked out of the restaurant full of rage.
As I watched him walked out of the restaurant. It then occurred to me that he might be the one who sent the Sms and also the package. I was awe knowing that his syndicates are in my hostel.
I was lost in my thought when I felt a warm hand on my cheek. The gently touch of her (Nora) hand brought me back to reality. I turn to see her staring at me worryingly. I also stare at her wondering the reason for her sudden sad look.

"Charles, are you okay? She asked with a faint voice.
" Am okay. I responded.

"Charles, please don't tell me you're scare of him? Don't make me to believe you took his empty threats to heart? She asked again.

" Am not dear, believe me am not. I responded.

" I know you're lying, the look in your eyes say it all. Please don't be scare of him. He is just a toothless bulldog. I promise you no one can hurt you in this university. As long as am here nothing will ever happen to you okay. She said wrapping her hands around my neck and for the first time locking up my lips with a kiss.

Her kiss really shocked my nerves. I can't explain the way I felt the moment our lips entangled. It is left for the imagination. Apart from Nora surprising kiss, I was curious to know what she actually meant by me been safe as long as she is here with me. I stare at her not knowing what to say and her hands were still wrapped around my neck. It was like she read my thoughts and said.

"Charles I know you have questions, please ask.
" you sounded so confident when you said, that am safe and no one can hurt me. Please who are you? I asked.

Her face curved in a smile and Responded
" Am a girl whom you found a way to her heart and I will always be with you.
"Please be serious Nora. Who are you? I asked again.
" Charles, stop been naive. Who I am doesn't matter for now okay. She said and planned another kiss on my lips.

"alright Nora.
She smile and remove her hands from my neck. An hour later we left the school restaurant.

PROLOGUE
It's been the same dream every night for months now. I can't ever see her face, but I know her. Like I have known her all my life. And it feels like something very bad is going to happen when I reach her.
But at the same time, I am not afraid at all. I want her. No matter what happens. But I never get to her (gunshots everywhere). And then I died.
At first I was afraid, I thought I was losing my mind. The dream and the imaginary pictures of her was gradually becoming an obsession. What's worse is waking up every night wanting someone I have never met.. Loving a girl who doesn't exist...

i was in my room lost in my thought that I didn't notice the continuous knock on my door. The scream of my name brought me back to reality.
"Charles!!! the voice called again still knocking on my door.
I sluggishly stood up from my bed and plodded to the door. I opened the door to see my course mates, Jimmy and Leo.

"hey don't tell me you're still sleeping by this time of the day? Leo asked immediately.

I didn't answer his question, I just kept rubbing my hands on my eyes feigning like I just woke up.
" Anyway we are going to the school main library to read. We just want to know if you will also like to come with us? Leo continued when I didn't say a word.

I will please wait let me get my books. I answered.

My reason for accepting to go with them was unknown to me. I don't feel like going out that day. I just want to be alone. Though our first semester exams is within the corner. On a normal day I don't stay at home, I'm either in the school library or in the faculty library reading. I came out from my room with my book and we headed straight to the school library.

The school main library was already occupied by students who were reading. we took a brisk walk to our faculty library it was also occupied by students who were reading. We decided to check the school love garden, we located an empty seat and sat down. Jimmy and leo engaged themselves immediately with their reason for coming to the garden while I took my time staring at students trooping in and out of the garden. I turned my direction to the left and saw a girl sitting alone at the extreme corner of the garden.
I thought I was hallucinating, but the person am seeing isn't an illusion, i wasn't hallucinating. She's the one, the girl in my dream. I stare at her with awe, contemplating on how to approach her.

This is strange how can this be possible? Seeing a girl that I have been seeing in my dream in reality. I was still staring at her, lost in my thoughts. When I notice a hand waving very close to my face. I turned to see who it was and only to see
Jimmy and leo staring at me like clowns..

"why are you guys staring at me like that? I hope no problem? I asked breaking the silent.

" Charles, are you here to read or you're here to look at girls? Jimmy asked.

I heavy sigh " to read of course. I responded with a smile.
" are you sure? If actually you're here to read why are you staring at her (pointing to the mystery girl) Jimmy asked.

"and how did you know I was staring at her? Ain't you supposed to be reading and concentrating on your books? Rather than putting your concentration on what doesn't concern you. I responded feigning anger.

Jimmy burst out into laughter and said.
" guy vexing no fit you. Abeg arrange that your face way be like shirt way dem no iron

" na you Sabi. I answered.

" there's nothing bad with you staring at her. Besides she is gorgeous. Jimmy said.
" yes I know she is gorgeous. I answered.
" tell me the truth do you like her? Jimmy asked
I didn't answer him. I just kept staring at him like a dummy.

" Charles, stop acting like a dummy and answer me. Do you like her? Just tell me I can woo her for you. Jimmy said with a smile.

I heavy a sigh and answered." thank you. But I can do that myself.
Jimmy and leo laughed out loud.
"you Charles! you that can't even approach a girl. let alone talking or wooing them. Leo said amusingly.

" don't mind him make him dey claim wetin him no fit do. Jimmy answered.
I took a deep breath and said.

"like I said, I can talk to her. Do you want me to prove that to you guys?
They glance at each other and fixed there gaze on me.
" yes prove it to us. They answered in unison.

I took a deep breath, stood up and walked towards her.. I could see my friends already staring with curiosity. As I WALKED closer to her.. I could see her flipping through the book she was reading.

“HI dear, I greeted with a smile .

She glare at me and focused her attention back on the book she was reading without responding.

"hey dear, i just said hi"

"as you can see, I am very busy now and I don't entertain hobbies strangers. She responded.

"hey come on dear, that's not a polite way to respond to someone who just dropped by to say hi"

"okay, i am sorry. so what can i do for you?" she asked

"at least you should reply TO my greeting first before throwing question at me"

"okay, i am fine. are you okay now?" shE ASKed.
"something like that. I responded with a smile.
"something like that? Okay so how may i help you? She asked.
"My name is CharleS ...... What's yours?
" young man I didn't ask for your name okay. Please state your mission.
"at least tell me your name..
" young man how may I help you?
I heavy a sigh
"well what am about to say may sound as a joke or perhaps weird to you and...... I pause and heavy a sigh.

" yes, go on I am all ears. She said staring at me intensely.

"I feel like I have known you all my life and for months now I have been seeing you in my.....in my.... I pause, heavy a sigh and continue. The reality here is that I want us to be friends.

The way she glare at me almost gave me a heart attack.

" you know I was feeling guilty when I called you a jobless stranger. But i was right you're actually jobless. So you just want to distract me? Please as you can see I was busy reading my books before you showed up. I need to be left alone.
" Please am not here to distract or disturb your reading. I'm serious when I said I like you and I want us to be friends that's all I am asking.

" Okay, I accept we are friends. Are you happy now. Please leave I need some space. She said focusing her attention back on her book.

After a while she look up from the book she was reading and fixed her eyes on me.
“Charles, that's your name right? She asked
But I pretended not to hear her.
"look Charles I know you're aren't a dummy, I told you I want to be left alone. Please what are you still doing here?

I still pretend not to hear her. I just kept massaging my jaw with my hand.

" For goodness sake, what kind of a guy are you? She asked.

"and what kind of a lady are you? You don't want us to be friends, neither do you want to tell me your name?

"gosh, I thought I have answered your question earlier. Yes we can be friends.
" But you're yet to tell me your name.

"that's because I don't want to. Okay I don't have a name.

" imagine a beautiful face without a name. How can we be friends without names?

"Charles, am not the familiarity type. I hate unhealthy familiarity, especially with the opposite sex.

" I don't think I will be able to sleep again if you don't tell me your name.

She stare at me with open-mouthed and said " I can see you are the persistent type. In short you are a pest. What planet are you from?
persistent pest planet.. I answered giggling.

I hope you know you are crazy?
I am just hearing it from you I answered.
you are just a nerd..
you can say that again.. I answered.
okay fine you win. My name is Nora.
"wow Nora, that's a very beautiful name.
" oh thank you. She responded in a sonorous and musical voice.
"you are welcome. So what department are you?
" Am a law student. what about you? She asked.
" Am a student of theater arts. I responded with a smile.
"wow my future actor. She said with her face curved in a smile.
" and you're my future attorney. We both laugh in unison.
The vibration of her ringing phone interrupted our conversation.
I waited patiently for her to end her conversation with the caller. I stole a glance at my friends who were staring at me open-mouthed. After two minutes she ended the call and heavy a sigh. I have to take my leave now. She said this and stood up. I also stood up immediately with her.

" alright dear, please can I have your number? I asked.

She stare at me for a while, before she responded.

of course you can. She took my phone and typed her number into my phone.
she gave the phone back to me when she was done.

my face curved in a smile, thank you.

you are always welcome.. she responded.
