I've seen parents allow kids to starve and suffer for no sensible reason. If the reason is genuine then I'd understand.

Parents should stop this level of emotional blackmail and punishing their kids unnecessarily. Imagine her telling you she won't forgive you for life for such a little understandable forgivable matter. That easily proves her Christianity is not genuine.

I school very far from home and I am not going back any soon because I intend staying back in my location to hustle after graduation. I am thinking of calling her later in the evening when her anger must have subsided.

If you had asked her reasons why she doesn't want you taking money from the man or other relatives, I believe you'd have understood her position.

The deed has been done now, just beg her as much as you can, tell her to forgive you and ask her how you can make it better.

In order to prevent asking relatives for money for school, get busy during the holidays or on your free time.

If it's site work, manual labour, washing and cleaning for people, do it so you can self reliant.

My dear if its about working to be self reliant, forget that one, there's no kind of legitimate hustle I don't involve myself in to survive, I take care of over 80% of my school expenses. Things been just choke for me.

Good morning N'landers, I will make this post as brief and concise as possible.

Some months ago while I was home on break from school, I visited one of my in-laws that owns a school to introduce a software to him for his school. The man complained that I was too distant from him, citing how I never call him or ask him for favours whenever I'm in school. I told him I will reach out to him more often.

I told my mom about my visit and she told me without mincing words to resist collecting money from the man. My mom is the religious type and has been skeptical about the man's source of wealth.

When school resumed things were difficult at home and I couldn't resume school. I spent close to three months after resumption at home due to lack of funds.
Note that since my admission from my first year to my final year, I've never asked any relative for help no received any help from anyone aside my immediate family.

I lost my resolve not to ask for help when my project supervisor called me and scolded me over the phone for my inability to resume school. I sent the man a text soliciting for help, he sent me 5k which I added to the little I had and resumed school. I didn't tell my mom because I knew she won't be happy about it.

In school things were so hard for me, during a particular period I went almost one week living on just water, that period I'm sure I would eaten food sacrificed to a deity if I had access to one. I called the man again and he reluctantly sent me 4k after many calls and text messages.

This early morning I got a phone call from my mom, she was crying over the phone. She was hurt and said I betrayed her because I went behind her back to collected money from a man she told me to avoid. She said that singular act of mine has destroyed all her efforts and prayers to break us free from bondage. I tired to explain that the money wasnt a physical cash hence it has no effect on me but to no avail. She said I've broken her for life and she would never forgive me.

I have a very close relationship with my mom and everything she told me really hurt me and I'm confused on the action to take. I am 28 but I hardly hide anything from her, I didn't tell her about the money because I know she wouldn't approve of it and I needed it. This is the first time any relative has contributed to my education ever. I don't even know how she got to know.

Please how do I pacify her and get her to forgive me? I really love my mom and can't bear to see her this heartbroken.

Tel him you will be paid a small commission after sales...
Pick up your phone, snap as many cars as your phone memory can take, open a dedicated twitter ac, IG ac, Facebook ac, WhatsApp ac, ac etc... Take out time to post this cars, make sure you have the actual prices of this cars... You can add as much as #250k on it... Bring down the negotiations to as low as making #50k if need be just so I can sell. Set your monthly target... I assure you, if you get I client in a month, u make around #100,000k once you start growing, you can get as much as 5-10 client from all over the country and that hits you over #1m for just helping others sell their cars, Note all you invested was your time, energy, phone and data... No big financial capital...
Do not restrict yourself to cars, go for industrial machines as well, caterpillars, mikano gens, any thing, then you look for those big companies that need them and try to call their attention to it or market it to them... You may not sell in 3 months but when you manage to get a client to buy just 1 caterpillars, my brother you will instantly forget that u suffered before...

Instead of sending your children to the university without a good financial plan I think its better for them to learn a well paying skill that might not even last the duration of the university education.

Students especially those from humble backgrounds are suffering in school, even garri now is expensive, guys are surviving on just water and kuli kuli to write exams. My friend resumed school just two days to exams because of hustle, I resumed a week to exams(finals). Imagine trying to cover a semester's work within a week, you end up learning nothing tangible and manage to come out with maybe 2.2 or third class.

Only the gifted students from humble backgrounds make 1st class in the midst of want and lack. The situation of the girls is a different case study, every friday all manner of vehicles ranging from government SUVs to military trucks are all seen around the hostels picking ladies up. Their case is even a little better because they have something to trade for those that want to follow that path.

Lastly please check on your kids in school, even if there's no money please encourage and reassure them, I couldn't complete my fees and asked my dad to help me out, wetin that man tell me ehhn, I wanted to regret going to school but it's too late for regrets.

It depends on your family shaa, I have 6 brothers with almost the same body size and stature. You will never know who has what in the house, you just use, wash and keep for the next person interested. In school when things choke I resume at times with my younger brothers cloths.

Theres no point doing that cos even for some who didn't reduce their age and finished early, it wasn't a guarantee for them to get a job quickly. It still took them years after school to land a job if that's what your fears are.

God is the only one that makes things happen for everyone.

Its not really about getting a now, its more about going for service and making some savings during the service year.

Due to some circumstances beyond my control I managed to get admission into the university at the age of 25. I will be 29 by september this year and I'm still in 400 level first semester no thanks to constant ASUU strikes and a slow academic calendar coupled with the covid-19 pandemic.

It's likely that I'm going to miss out on service and most of my friends have been advising me to reduce my age. Officially among my friends cum course mates I'm the oldest where as I'm the youngest when it comes to our actual age. They have all reduced their ages, one even had to rewrite weac for that sole purpose.

I initially wanted nature to run its course but they've been hammering on the difference that 33k for a year will make in our lives.
I'm somehow having a hard time making up my mind on what to do now, I started coding recently to develop web apps because I didn't want to go back to my parents house after school so I needed a skill to sustain me when I graduate .
