kerzhim: Thats the appropriate thing to do actually.... But i am expecting him to charge Busola Dakolo for Defamation. I will assume that he is guilty of the allegation leveled against him if he fails to do that.
Busola as well should also report formally to the authority, not the social media gra gra.
This will be a slap to the Christianity, if nothing is done.
fabianiyobosa: If he is truthful, he will be jailed. If he lies, he will be discharged.
Bill Cosby is in jail today after sexually assaulting a lady 25 years ago.
Bill Cosby drugged his victims to make it easy to rape them. Who drugged Busola that she could not scream, struggle, bite his hand, or even tear down the house to save her herself. Afterall, it was her house. Nonsense!
9jaBloke: You are not on anyone's side you say but your entire narrative says otherwise. You don't know the pastor but you understand false accusation. I'm not saying Biodun is guilty but 'why always him?' is a good question at this point.
You even went as far back as 2007 to register your dislike for Timi Dakolo, yet you are not on anyone's side you say.
You can't hold the Dakolo's responsible for the support they are getting and the way their supporters are acting. Rape is a sensitive issue and i pray you don't experience it.
Pastor Biodun should just initiate legal proceedings if he is sure of his innocence.
Dislike for Timi because I feel Omanwunmi performed better than him? I hear you!!! Rape is a sensitive issue and yet millions of Nigerian, male and female get raped. Some have come out with their rape stories without any condemnation form from the public. And yes, I'll hold the Dakolos responsible for the actions of their supporters because they should have gone to a court of law to establish guilt and not the court of public opinion. The pastor told his supporters to restrain themselves. The Dakololos should do same. I watched the video of their supporters yelling wildly at members of the church. They were shouting shame! Rapist! Even at those carrying babies. If they don't tell their supporters to restrain themselves and it becomes a fight for all, it can result in loss of lives. Supporters that are acting based on emotions and nothing else.
TimiRume: You are the disgusting one for qualifying a supposed victim of rape who happens to be a woman a farm tool and sparing an adulterous man who has been accused of rape by not less than 5 women, with 30 women waiting in line to testify against him. You are a rotten soul and our society needs to be sensitised about rape apologists and misogynists like you.
Please stick to the facts of the case. Only Busola accused him of rape. Others claim they had an affair with him. That a multitude of people say something does not necessarily make it true. Let the case be taken to court and guilt established before castigating the pastor. I watched Busola's video and I don't believe her. It felt like she was acting. Her words also do not make any sense. She claims the pastor pushed her onto a chair. She watched him take of his belt. She watched silently in her own home. He later covered her mouth. She did not struggle. She allowed him push into her. There was resistance because she was a virgin. The pastor kept trying until he finally entered. All this time, she did not try to push him away. She did not bite his hand. She did not fight him off. Rape is a horror nobody should endure, but false accusation is an equal horror. Both can destroy lives permanently.
9jaBloke: Hey sweetrace, don't think i haven't thought about the bolded, i have. That's why I'm urging everyone to calm down and approach this issue logically. In as much as the Dakolos may not be crazy rich, you can't deny the fact that they are okay financially and they come across as very decent people so it's probably not a money issue. You are obviously on Pastor Biodun's side, you have a right to but it's too early to conclude that Busola is lying.
I’m never on anyone’s side. I am on the side of the truth of issues. I don’t know the pastor and can not speak for him. But I hate bullying! I understand false accusation. I have come to understand the way people garner support especially when the accusation is false. I know first hand that people go out of their way to destroy others for money, jealousy, ego and for no reason whatsoever. I don’t know that the Dakolos are okay financially. I don’t believe decent people will resolve issues this way. They will go to a court of law and not a court of public opinion. They may choose to confront the offender or they’ll simply do positive things to facilitate their healing. Dakolo has a way with the public. The original competition that brought him to limelight was not his to win. Omowunmi was better than him, but he won because of the polls. People felt like he was a decent underdog and voted for him. To use this influence to destroy another human being is all shades of wrong. Plus his wife’s story has too many loopholes in it. But since I don’t know the facts, I believe both parties should take this to court. What on earth do the Dakolos want to achieve with this? At that, the attention this case is receiving is way out of proportion. Wild people shouting at members of a place of worship: shame! Rapist! Are the members the accused? Is the accusation legal? Don’t people have the right to worship where the want to? Why can’t the wild ones go to the respective government officials and shout wildly at them?
9jaBloke: There's no proof yet that Busola is saying the truth, but she is not some broke/desperate opportunist looking for cheap popularity and some pocket change. She's living a good life and has a reputation and that of her family to protect.
Pastor Fatoyinbo could be innocent of the allegation but this is not a one-off case as he has been accused before. It is still very possible that he is innocent of all the allegations. So i don't think a sentence should be passed until he has been given a chance to fully address the issue (s) and defend himself.
Busola on the other hand deserves to be taken very seriously. Rape is a grievous crime and it has become endemic in Nigeria.
Anyone standing completely with Busola without giving Pastor F benefit of the doubt is unnecessarily emotional and guilty of fallacy of hasty conclusion.
Anyone defending Pastor F without asking for the case to be thoroughly investigated is a Potential Rapist.
The ideal thing to do is to let the case go to trial and listen to both parties give their accounts under oath.
Even though i don't fully believe in our judicial system but i feel that if we listen attentively to both sides of the story, somewhere along the line, the truth will emerge.
I agree that this case should be investigated. But please o, what does Busola do for a living? I thought she was a photographer and her husband a musician who releases songs once in a while. So, I don’t see her as well off. Probably average at best. So, yes she can be a broke desperate opportunist. Because, I’m beginning to think there’s so much more to this. This is not a rape allegation anymore. This is a move to destroy this man completely. I just wonder whose toes he stepped on?
stupidity: Have you heard cases where father rapes daughter?? A father having sex with his daughter. In some cases the mother do know about it and keep mute for fear of being thrown out of the house/to save her marriage. While the daughter too doesn’t speak out because there’s no one to talk to.
In this case will you say the daughter enjoyed having sex/had a consensual sex with the father.
Will you say the mother was very much comfortable with what was happening under her roof?
In some other cases when the daughter reports to her mother, the mom will shut her up and tell her never to say it to anyone.
This said pastor is a father figure to the victim, heck we all know how Nigerian worship these men like God. Who dares speak against them?
So OP, your post is trash.
The op did not post trash! A father raping his daughter is totally different. Here the victim is helpless as she feels she has nowhere to go to since she lives with her parents who are totally responsible for her. Even at that, a 17 year old being raped by the father for the first time will not accept it without a fight and should move out if he succeeds. Busola did not live with the pastor. He raped her the first time and she did not complain. That is believable. But he raped her in her house where she could have screamed and fought him. She did not. She watched him take off his belt and did not run into a room and lock the door. That he raped her Multiple times is absolutely unbelievable. Then she stays under the authority of such a person as her pastor when nobody forced her too is absolute nonsense.
Aiyk2333: I'd feel same when I'm as careless that more than two would accuse me
Only Busola accuses the pastor of rape. Others claim they had an affair with him. Busola’s stupid story does not hold water. She knows Nigerians react based on emotions and not intelligence.
LewsTherin: When you research on cases of sexual molestation and abuse, you'll find that many people will rather take their shame to their graves. Some hasten up the grave experience too.
I won't go the path of asking if you have been abused. I am a firm believer in learning from other people's experiences. Do some research. Check out the charges against Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein and co. Research the effect of molestation by persons who the victims look up too.
It's a psychological thing.
Bill Cosby drugged his victims. A 17 year old raped once by someone known to her is believable. Multiple times and she kep quiet and continued to go under his authority as her pastor is not. I’m a woman and growing up, I had men try to molest me several times. A family friend my dad told to take me somewhere took me to his friends place instead. I was sixteen. The rape did not take place!!! I was 16 and I stopped it. No 17 year old can be raped without a struggle. Unless she’s been raped constantly since she was a child and conditioned to accept such horror. 17 years and not 7! Who is Busola kidding? In her own house where she could have run into a room and locked the door. And she did not tell her family until her sister supposedly had a dream. I told my mum about the family friend’s actions because I could not bear to see my parents treat him with such kindness and respect. When I graduated and was looking for job, a commissioner my dad gave me a note to was trying to take advantage. I told on him when my parents wanted to know why I refused to check with him on the job ish. Busola’s story does not add up. People are being sentimental because the man in question is a pastor. We have those who act like pastors are God and so infallible. We have others who are totally biased against pastors. What is happening is totally wrong. There should be proof before castigation. I feel Busola had a strong crush on the pastor when she was 17. She probably had dreams of being his forever. Maybe there was a relationship or maybe not. If there had been one, she’d probably have felt devastated when it ended. But those are my thoughts and not facts either. The facts are that she made an accusation without any evidence.
The victim, either from fear or shame, may find it difficult to tell anyone about the abuse, talk less of reporting it as rape. Especially in Africa here, where the victim is shamed, where the victim is blamed, where fault is almost always placed at the foot of the victim. Especially in Africa here where parents are likely to tell the victim to keep it quiet, not to bring shame on the family. Especially where the perpetrator is someone of great standing in society or even just with respect to the victim and the victim’s family. Especially if it is a male being raped, where he will definitely be laughed at, where he will be an object of ridicule, where he will be accused of not being manly enough.
She could not report the case to even her family until her sister dreamed of it right? She was so ashamed she kept on going to the church? She’d rather keep quiet and continue to endure his multiple rapes? Nah!!!!
Estellie: ..Go and watch the video, ma'am.. The complete one.
Is there any evidence hidden in the video somewhere I need to use a microscope to see? A 17 year old who was raped severally without any struggles or screams? Who tells her family only after her sister is said to have dreamt about it? A rape victim who remained under the authority of her rapist as her pastor? Haba! Busola should tell the truth please!
She should collect sperm samples of how many years or months as evidence?
Or she should have worn a body camera or even went with someone since she is the holy spirit and already knew the rape would happen.
Some of you don't have brain matter in your heads, na only water dey inside. But I wish it will happen to a woman dear to you, that is the only way y'all can be sensible.
Evidence!!!! What she put up as a chat with the pastor is not. It is a chat between her and someone else. Read!!!!!
Roon9: The power of social engineering. Ever since Timi discovered that his beloved wife was kpanshed, baba has refused to let issues rest. Unless there's more to the story Mrs T's story won't stand in a 5mins trial
What a shameless woman! She’s proud she had an affair with a man then went public when he dumped her sorry ass? A married man? What was she hoping to get from such an affair? Very vindictive woman!!!!! She is a conformist who is exactly like a great deal of women of this age. No morals, integrity and poor intelligence. Yet nod their heads like the agama lizard like they are all that. She’s here claiming to be one of those who think outside the box and draws outside the lines!
Please leave his wife out of this rubbish!!!! The women who claim to have had an affair with her husband owe her an apology if said affairs are true. They knew he was married, they slept with him and then went public when he ended the affair. What kind of vindictive hateful women are these? As for Busola’s case, her story does not add up. How can the same man keep on raping her at the age of 17 and not 7? The only reason this case has garnered such public reaction is because he is a pastor.
My respect for this actress has disappeared! I can’t believe she can do this. She who has been the focus of horrible rumors in the past accepting an accusation without evidence. I could easily put her picture and write “ Here is the alleged lesbian and chronic mistress” and write her name. To think I’ve always defended her for her accusers lack of evidence!!!!!!!!!!
bennynaza: Since Busola Dakolo, nearly 30 women have come up with stories of their sordid encounter with the randy Pastor. But how come NONE have put forward any evidence. They all seem to be in the know of the man's poor sexual attitude towards women, but NONE had enough thought to record, audio or visual or picture or any tangible proof. Not that it is that hard to record someone these days. Some even claim he chatted them up. Where are the chats? Are they still afraid? Even when they have come out openly to accuse him.
These women are only disappointed that the man who promised them so much (including marriage) to get in between their legs failed to fulfill these "promises". The man was just too sleek and cunny for them. I don't care about religion let alone pastors and I don't even want to go into my opinion on gullible followers, but surely they can not all be so stupid to keep falling for his "trap" if their greedy minds weren't sending them back to him despite all they knew or the rumours about him. Busola was "legally" too young to give consent, that's true, but why allow herself to be used over and over again if she wasn't enjoying it or at least enduring it in hope of something like marriage, power or money. She could have spoken up or at least stop coming to the church. She stopped being underaged over 10 years ago!
Every human including Biodun has every right to be as randy as they want. As long as it's consentual, that isn't a crime. But shame on him to hide under the cloak of divinity. But bigger shame on those who will still attend his club. SHAME!
goooze: No words from the wife she's either a partner in crime who's fully aware of the husband's escapades or a puppet that have allowed money and eordly luxury to becloud her sense of reasoning.
And exactly what do you want her to say? Busola who made a public accusation or the ladies who had an affair and went public after it ended simply want public sympathy and nothing else. If they want to address a wrong, this foolish ese and her sisters owe the wife an apology for having an affair with her husband. As for Busola, she needs to go to court.
But maybe because she wasn't popular Or maybe because she wasn't rich Or maybe because she wasn't a celebrity Or maybe because she isn't powerful
Her own confession did not receive as much support.
But thank God it's happening now. Better late than never
Her story was she had an affair with the pastor. When he ended the affair she took it public. So, what exactly is anyone to do about her affair? How is it the public’s business? What kind of blackmail is that?
spongeisback: I've been seeing comments all day about Busola "trying to bring the man of god down" why didn't she tell someone earlier and it's obvious so many people didn't watch the complete video or they just choose to be willfully ignorant.
1) Busola was raped when she opened the door for pastor biodun in her own house. Biodun was her family pastor and he knew that her mom had travelled so he went to her house prepared.
2) Busola was 17 and according to Nigerian laws whether she consented or not she was raped.
3) Biodun was a married father and we all know how young ladies and gents go to pastors house to help and it isn't strange that his wife asked busola to come help her and she did.
4) At night biodun asked his wife to let Busola sleep in the guest room and she pleaded with his wife that she wants to sleep in the masters bedroom with her and his wife agreed and biodun later told her "no one rejects me"
5) He insisted on going to drop her off. Another premeditated rape occurred.
6) Busola finally opened up to her elder sister, when her elder sister confronted her with a dream she had. She said in that dream she saw Busola sitting on a couch soaked with blood and crying while biodun laughed. She told her family why had happened.
7) Busola's brother was so enraged that he went with knives to confront biodun and he was stopped by pastors from COZA which she named. They came to her house to beg her family and they forgave him not caring about Busola the victim.
All you said is according to Busola abi? Has her sister, brother or anyone come out to collaborate her story? He raped her at home, and she choose to sleep in his house? Do you know what it is to rape a virgin? She had blood on the couch and her body probably. Did she clean up the place so no one would see this or what? She was seventeen and she did not struggle with the pastor at all. How is that possible? No screams, no throwing things at him. She just sat there and took what he dished out. 17 and not 7!!!!! Her sister had to have a dream before she told her family. His wife invited her over and she went. What stopped her from refusing to go there? She could have said she was sick. Sick of the pastor, but she went there and even slept in the house of her rapist. I’m a woman and at the moment, I don’t believe her story. I don’t even know the pastor, but I won’t crucify anyone based on another’s talk. Talk that makes no sense.
Ginalex: Only him, 5 accusations of rape... Is that the only "lie" in this planet?? Nne... Enjoy his service tomorrow... Inugo
I don’t know him, but I have enough integrity to stick to the facts of the case. Busola is the only one accusing him of rape. All the others claim they had an affair with him. Why do they announce that they had an affair with a married man? Who does that? Why make it public? What do they gain from that? Busola accused the pastor of rape without any evidence. Why exactly should I believe her? Why should I not believe the member that said Busola kept throwing herself at the pastor? But I choose to believe neither of them because there’s no evidence to prove their case. At the moment, it is just a supposition. There are questions that need to be answered. How can a 17 year old girl be raped multiple times by the same person without saying anything. Why did she continue to associate with him? Why did she not leave the church? She even got married there. Why did she not tell her parents? Seventeen and not seven? Was the pastor married then? Was she hoping he’d marry her? In this world we live in now, false accusations are rampant.
nairalee: Oh so people should stop frying beans cos Coza pastor was sharing Krest?
They shouldn't actually halt the programme cos of the accusation. However the accused pastor should not mount the pulpit till he's cleared his name for the sake of sanity, appropriateness, the members and ultimately the Reputation of the Word of God
He should not preach because of an accusation? Nah!!!!
babytoun: Now Busola has thrown it back at him to prove innocence ....Busola seem to be saying "You are a rapist ...live with that tag ...if you disagree take me to court " ....
The path is now very tricky for the pastor ...even if he tries to clear himself of rape...it will be very difficult to prove that he did not have sex with her ...and if she proves that she was 17 then when sex happened ...it's up to the laws of the land to interpret what that means ...
That she called him a rapist does not make him one. Proof is what is needed. Proof from Busola!
mrvitalis: Shut up ...this is not the first nor the secound time
Neymar case is different ...when people that know u for long over 20 years start accusing u ,not one not two then something is wrong
Busola’s accusation is rape. Others claimed they had an affair with him. Huge difference! If I knew you twenty years ago and now accuse you of rape, does it make it true? What the op wrote is totally true. Let’s not get entrapped by sentiments. We need evidence and the onus of this proof lies with Busola.
dancewith: We simply have to take into account that if this story is true and I see no reason why a married woman would open herself up to lie about a revered pastor, she must be hurting badly. Post traumatic stress disorder is a major issue
The fact you go to bed and sleep soundly is a grace. Many people arent that lucky. There are millions that cant sleep at night and wake up screaming in agony once they get to sleep
Rape leaves a woman in debilitating mental condition. Care must be taken to ensure they get adequate support.
On the balance of probability this man must have committed this crime. There have been numerous credible women accusing this same man about this same conduct in the past. They simply can't be picking on him.
Whilst he is presumed innocent before being proven guilty, we must not sweep this grave accusations under the carpet. These are potential crimes and potential victims who feel the effects of this trauma daily. They need help and they do not need derision and further victimisation
What does she stand to gain if the accusation is false. We must also assume she is not making this up and investigate this thoroughly. If indeed this pastor slept with her at 17 then it is rape regardless if she gave consent. Anyone that age is a minor and a minor cannot give consent. It is statutory rape even with her consent
You don’t know why a married woman will lie about being raped? Is marriage synonymous with integrity? Will she be the first person to lie about being raped? I don’t know if she’s lying or not, but the onus is on her to prove her story.
That so many people accuse one of something does not make it true. An accusation often makes one vulnerable to further accusations. There are men and women who claim to have slept with someone they’ve never met. Maybe for fame, because they have a serious crush on the person, their personal fantasy or simply because they are liars. I know because I have been on the receiving end of false accusations by people I don’t know.
When most people lie, they often lie some more to sustain the original lie until it blows up in their faces. She might have had a teen crush on the Pastor. She may have had an affair with him with all the feelings being one sided and felt rejected when the affair ended. She might have been raped. We don’t know what happened to her, but she has no shred of proof and I don’t understand why anyone is accepting her allegations as gospel.
As per statutory rape, I don’t think Nigeria is a country that will accept a consensual affair with a 17 year old as rape. Not when there are so many young ladies throwing themselves at men these days. Plus if this holds, then loads of Nigerian men will be sent to jail o as I don’t think men here asks for one’s age before sleeping with her.
I’m a woman who does not even know the pastor. Hiwever, I need more than mere allegations. Why is Busla coming out now? Why did she not go to court?
If Busola was indeed raped, I hope she gets healing for such a traumatic experience. I don’t believe social media vengeance is the route to this healing though. She needs to forgive him and let it go so she can heal completely and be the best version of herself. Yes forgive! There’s nothing that cannot be forgiven. She does not want the acid of bitterness eating up her life. End of epistle.
