ARES: My friend be a grown man for a minute. I am a christain and I believe u are too so reason before u talk.... Ok?
Even if i also disagree with d choice of words of d guy and even if like u i hv forcefully defended islam cos a minority of muslims shld nt define d majority, yet am really beginning to accept that there is smthing wrong with Islam or rather with Muslims generally. Am not even talking about parts of d religion that mks it very easy to brainwash sm ppl and turn them into extremists that commit atrocities( since oda groups and religions including xtainity hv passd tru same tin) BUT am talking about d parts of Islam dat mks it a DUTY 4 most Muslims to defend d 'image' of dier religion at all costs including looking for any thing to blame except d few extremists amongst them cos they figure dat wud rub-off negatively on d 'image' of dier religion. Northern muslims hv blamd virtuali everything - CIA, Mossad, FG, govt, Igbos, CAN, poverty, marginalizatn, 'injustice', 'enemies of islam', neighbouring countries and recently JTF etc- for BH atrocities; anything except sm of dem.

Am talking about d parts of islam dat mks it a DUTY on muslims to even Lie(taqiya) in order to defend d 'image' of islam and dier faith Or the 'victim's mentality' that everyone in d world is against Islam cos it is Allah's religion, the true religion and Allah wud 'defend' it( problem been sm of dem do not allow Allah to do d defending himself).

Moderate Muslims who are in d majority must stand up to defend dier religion from d narratives of d few crazy ones(extremists) and do so with a singlelarity of purpose equal or even greater than these extremists else sooner or later islam wud implord(..oh sori i forgot- it is actuali d religion of Allah who wud defend it no mata wot)

Politics › FERMA Engages 10,000 Youths For Road Construction Under SURE-P by taharqa(op): 1:04am On Oct 28, 2012
The Federal Road Maintenance Agency has engaged about 10,000 youths under the Subsidy Re-investment Empowerment Programme to ensure continuous maintenance of federal roads across the country.

The youths, who work in collaboration with FERMA engineers, are natives of the various communities located close to the highway.

Managing Director of FERMA, Mr. Gabriel Amuche, said in a statement on Thursday that the engagement of the youths was part of Federal Government’s job creation programme under the SURE-P.

While inspecting the road patches being carried out by some of the youths along Kaduna/Abuja Expressway, the managing director also said that the Federal Government had given the agency three months to put the federal roads in order.

While calling on Nigerians to be patient with the agency, the FERMA boss said the agency had 35,000 kilometres of roads under its watch, adding that it was not easy to see the agency workers on every kilometre of road at the same time.

He said, “We implore all Nigerians to own our roads. The roads are built with our tax. Members of the public should partner with FERMA and report any failing that needs intervention. We hope to touch every part of the country especially now that the dry season is setting in.

@OP. Is that portion of the road part of the reconstruction that Fashola is currently doing on the Badagry corridor?

If it is, then something is been done about it; though the way many of you have described the present state of the road, it is a shame to past and to an extent present govts( esp FG- I suppose it is a Federal road) and a nightmare for the commuters who ply it.

Alison-Madueke told Reuters, although
she added that the president had the

Right. I have already commented on this:

1st, I hv already commentd that there are still considerable levels of corruptn in govts(all tiers and levels) and of course d general public. I will neva vogued for any person in d oil industry in 9ja- dat place is 'darkness' itself, has always been and we are only just starting to see sm small light recently there and we shld nt be too surprisd to see d many tins we were nt allowd to see previously; my main problem is d noisemaking, worthless complaints, hypocrism and d penchant of sm ppl to distort info for sm gain. Plz respond to my 2nd comment on pg.1....by d way from dat Reuters report if am not wrong, discretionary lincenses are nt illegal( it is within d powers of d president to do so); d problem was that d signature bonus( apparently including d 3 given by dis admin) was said to be 'missing'( which cud mean that they hv eida bn stolen or not yet reconcild). I guess when d report comes out we wud know...i hv also previously calld for the Pet Min to resign in order to put sm more light in dat sector
Okay so I get you; this whole thing on the present admin is that 3 discretionary licenses out of 11 others were given out( which is not illegal as the report said) but whose signature bonus may be 'missing' according to the report while most of the report talked about previous admins. This is what the fuse is all about, right? This is why you guys are saying that the whole govt is fraudulent, right? So this is the EARTH-SCATTERING revelation esp when compared to what has been going on in Nigeria's Oil industry? I just wanted to be clear that that is what you are saying.

So you know- am not holding forth for Diezaini. Why the hell would I do that. Just as I believe that almost NO bank Chief Executive any where in the world is 'clean', so do I believe that almost NO oil industry Exec in Nigeria is 'clean'( just name them)- I have long call for her resignation so that the reforms and opening-up happening in that opaque oil industry would not be stalled by bickering over her competence and/or culpability. And if those bonuses are actually found to be missing, heads should roll. But for God's sake, lets not make this what it is not ESPECIALLY when those people who make these noise chicken out when the main work needs doing as I argued here:

take dat: .Diezani is a thief and all are atrocities wouldn't have been perfected without her boss having an inkling of it. One of her major lowlights is the 10%
racket she instituted at the Petroleum
Product Pricing and Regulatory Agency
(PPPRA), where authorization to import
gasoline and other petroleum products
were conditional on the importer paying
$8 per metric ton allocated. An importer
allocated 10,000 metric tons, for
example would be required to cough
out a bribe upfront of $80,000 in cash.
No checks are accepted, so there would
be no paper trail. The PPPRA and NNPC
officials who operated the racketeering
scam shared their booty with Allison-
Madueke, who received 50%, while the
others shared the remaining 50%
amongst them.

Hugoboi: I didn't expect anything less from u, Mr Billyonaire. Knowing GEJ's antecedent for corruption, did u expect Ribadu to hand in his report only to see an entirely different report hit the press? Ribadu is a seasoned cop and took precautionary measures by leaking this document to the foreign press. This will ensure that any plans to release a watered version by the FG goes up in smoke. Ur arguments that Ribadu should be punished holds no water. First there's no proof that he actually leaked anything and u obviously are at a loss as to what constitutes state secrets here. Kudos to Ribadu for beating this corrupt govt at their own game. I bet GEJ will be regretting giving Ribadu that job. Thieving scum!
This is why i pity propagandists. They bliv repeating a claim many times wud smhow mk it true..Cud u point out where exactly d leakd report as reportd by Reuters PROVE dat THIS govt is fraudalent? I wud be waiting

Politics › Re: Ribadu Report, Plan To Embarrass Government - Presidency by taharqa: 2:17pm On Oct 26, 2012
Gbawe: Great post. Even as I was a staunch supporter of Ribadu, I was one of those who castigated him for taking up this appointment and was very disappointed with him because I was convinced he had 'sold out' to a very corrupt Government that corrupts and compromises everything it comes in contact with eg Abati. I was sure Ribadu would walk away from this with his reputation damaged irretrievably like the Abatis of the World.

It looks like Mallam Ribadu, ever fearless, may have had his own stealth mission of working from the inside to expose this hideously corrupt Government. It is instructive that the report was 'leaked' to an International news agency, i.e Reuters, that cannot be compromised by our FG unlike our local press who often act as another arm of the Government. Like you conclude, this is only the beginning. the "drama" has indeed "just started".
@Gbawe. SHUT ya mouth up. This report didnt 'show that this govt is very corrupt'; most of what was reportd happend b4 dis admin. Stop spreading yr silly propaganda...oh by d way, if the govt wantd to hide things the way u hv just stated it wud nt hv institutd d probe in d 1st place and appointd not only Ribadu but sm oda ppl in dat committee( do you hv any idea about d calibar of ppl in dat committee)? yohanna zack: Does the PIB stop any individual found guilty of subsidy scam to be prosecuted? Wat nigerians are sayin is dis, we have a law dat frowns at corruption, let those who are found guilty be punished.
I wodner how som nigerians reason. This is a govt voted into power by nigerians, if nigerians see dat somtin is wrong they shuldnt xpress their feelins? If dey do, u call dem names (haters/critics). Dis is why thins wil hardly change in dis country. Those of u who think u can defend dis govt simply becus u are havin ur own fair share, wil continue to fail in ur bid to do dat, if u doubt me, ask mr abati, omokri, maku, alison, okonjo etc. D mess in dis govt is so high dat they can only pretend dat evrytin is fine, but nigerians knw dat deep within them, they cant convince nigerians dat everytin is fine. Even the president gej said it. You who are his dogs, knw it dat u cant change d feelins of nigerians toward dis govt if there is no significant/reasonable progress on d side of d govt.
1st, stop using d word 'Nigerians' as though you and yr small ilk constituent 'Nigerians'. 2nd, yes there are still considerable levels of corruptn in d diff arms and tiers of govt( my interest is hw do u engage ourselves and d govt in order to deal wit corruptn that is nt only in govt but in d general society, just as we insists on prosecutns).

3rd, yes d PIB bill will significantly affect d opaque oil industry to an extent that we wud hv a much firmer foundation to cleaning up d sector whether now or in future( the questn is hw come many of u noisemakers hv conveniently forgotten that it is has bn in d National assembly for more than 3months and hv only bn 'introducd' when most of us were previously on d neck of d executive to send d bill in d 1st place).

4th, this govt has perhaps taken more ppl to court on corruptn in 2yrs than any govt in 9ja's history, still am not very exitd or hopeful cos of our judicial process. Again, every person who matas(from NBA, civil societies groups, politicians, anticorruptn groups, ethnic groups including myself) hv bn fighting for the appointment of Special Courts or Judges on corruptn since Obj's time to this very yr. GEJ has not only agreed finally but hv urged d CJN at various times to do so, including recently when d new CJN was bn swornd-in and she promisd she wud appoint those judges. It is nw more than 3 months and guess what- there hv bn COMPLETE silence since dat time 4rm those ppl who hv bn seriously campaigning for this since that time, i mean complete silence; this is 4 smthing that is probably d most critical in d fight against corruptn in dis country cos cases wud then be decided in say a yr instead of d 'eternity' it currently takes, and which wud hv since happend if we hv continued to 'remind' d CJN to fulfill her promise and complete d process...

I get d impressn that many of 'us' Nigerians are just good Noisemakers; we are nt really ready to fight corruptn and work to turn-around dis country. I see a lot of dat noisemaking here on this thread

CuteTj: I see this current FG as dumb. The report covers a period of 10 years between 2002 - 2012 of which this present government has only been there for 2 years. This report therefore takes into account the administration of Obasanjo, Yar adua then Jonathan. Then how has revealing facts now turned to a plot to embarass the current administration when it isn't only his government that was put into consideration? I simply can't put up anylonger with the nonsense of the President and most especially his mouth piece(s). Wish 2015 is just tomorrow.
