CuteTj: I see this current FG as dumb. The report covers a period of 10 years between 2002 - 2012 of which this present government has only been there for 2 years. This report therefore takes into account the administration of Obasanjo, Yar adua then Jonathan. Then how has revealing facts now turned to a plot to embarass the current administration when it isn't only his government that was put into consideration? I simply can't put up anylonger with the nonsense of the President and most especially his mouth piece(s). Wish 2015 is just tomorrow.I was just going to say that you were bn too naive that sm propagandists wud nt turn this whole thing into a 'get-GEJ, pull his govt down' crusade even if as you said this happend mostly during Obj and Yar'adua eras and that it is GEJ that 4 d 1st time is trying to bring sm measure of openness to an industry that has bn ran like a cult ever since crude oil was discoverd in 9ja( and by d way, they hv already startd the 'GEJ causd everything campaign'). I was going to correct you till i took a lot at yr handle and realisd you are even one of them.....you know it kind of funny hw sm ppl reason- many of u guys count d Pension Scam amongst d 'sins' of GEJ when it was this same GEJ that orderd d Fin Min to probe d payments and overhead in d civil service that found out d sleeze that has bn going on for a loong time in d pensions witout anyone pushing 4 it. Not only are sm of d persons indictd undergoing trials and hv had their properties seizd by d courts, but that same probe discoverd perhaps about 30,000 ghost workers, introducd an IT-basd payment system and is one of d reasons d FG was able to cut overhead cost by half from about #526billion in 2010 to #230billion this time around. Still sm of u still count Pension Scam as one of d crimes of GEJ. Way to go |
I was under the impression that it was not yr fathers that orderd this probe in d 1st place or that appointd d caliber of ppl in d committee. I also thought from d report that most of d 'missing'(stolen) funds happend b4 dis admin( 2002-2012) while d supposd 'deal' bw govt and d oil companies that hv ensurd that Nigeria didnt get all d monies she is supposd to get, didnt just start in 2002 but hv bn so for like eternity. I guess everyone also knew that d oil industry is opaque and mostly corrupt and what is important now is not only to bring sm ppl to book( including sm ppl in dis admin) but also to try to block all d loopholes and opaqueness in dat industry...and this is where i hv a problem: d PIB bill that wud hv broken up d very corrupt NNPC, increased d amount of money payeable to d nation, input sm measure of transparency in d oil industry, force d oil companies to hv metering systems in their facilities so that we know exactly d amount of crude we are selling for d 1st time in our history etc, hv bn wit d National assembly for more than 3months( more than a month since they resumd) yet dat extremely critical bill hv only gone tru 1st reading( introductn). None of u Silly critics hv seen d need to questn d delays in d national assembly to do smthing that will at least serve as a foundation to solving d deep problems hv bn prevalent in dat industry for the longest time. For many of u noisemakers, dis isn't about solving d problem, just as ppl are taking into accounts for what they hv done BUT for u goons it is amount scoring sm few points, political points that is. |
HNosegbe: Provide incontrovertible proof that Buhari is a sponsor of Boko Haram.Buhari may not be a sponsor, but what the hell has he done to help quell d insurgency since it startd. This is smone who wantd to be President wit a lot of influence in d north, yet whenever he talks its about 2015 and not about the daily killings going on in his own backyard. |
shadrach77: Putting "people" in inverted comma shows you know the answer to the question. Did they "vote" him or he rigged himself in ?Well I was under the impression that d 2011 elections were substantially reflective of what people actuali votd, at least here in d south. All d governors that won their electns in d south did so in reality except perhaps in Delta...maybe d oppositn in Taraba was not very organisd or strong, so maybe the 'people' didnt hv much of a choice(alternative), plus d incumbency factor of course |
abdulkayus: u can be right, i hav frnd dat serve in taraba also in 2010, dey told me d state is notin to write home about. Dat d state money is only among d gov and his cronies, no major infractructures in d capital Jalingo ma self. D jalingo is lyk a glorified village. Then its such a shame. Why then did they 'people' vote him again? Didnt they learn their lesson the 1st time around? |
abdulkayus: i think u are wrong, Taraba has lyk 50 50 xtains to muslims or even more xtains self. Many ppl frm d south do think dat every state in d north are muslims nt knowin d state dat has 90 percent muslims are kano, jigawa, katsina, zamfara, sokoto and maybe Yobe. Kaduna is 50 50. Plateau has more xtains lyk 80 percent. Adamawa, Borno, Gombe, Nassarawa, Niger, Kogi and kwara has lyk muslim to xtain populatn of 60 to 40 percent.Oh! Didnt see this. I know that Kaduna is like 50-50, and that Gombe, Nassarawa, Niger, Kogi and Kwara have significant Christian minorities BUT I never knew that there could be up to 40% Christians in Borno( are you sure about that)? I also heard tat Adamawa is like 50-50? We need to know much about our selves in Nigeria o. Wile I was serving in the West, I realized that there were almost same no of Yoruba Christians and Muslims and a small no of Traditionalist( actually most of them are so mixed you dont know who is who, lol), ditto Edo north. Its a pity we dont do History any longer in our shools( and is no secret that most Nigerian youths dont really read) that we are so ignorant even of ourselves. If we dont know anything about ourselves, how do we understand ourselves; if we dont understand ourselves, how do we have PEACE amongst ourselves. Dont want to derail this thread but maybe you may consider opening a thread on this sometime so you can 'teach' me more about the north away from all the negatives we hear; I promise to 'teach' you want I know about the south. Others may then join in if they wish. |
abdulkayus: brentkruge has alreay answer it. I think d Danfulani name may be gotten frm dat he is fair in complexion, wat dey call laqani in hausa language. Its commom in d north, a name can be attach to ur personality cos of ur feature or wat u are gud at. And it can also be his christined name, who knows, cos dere are ppl in plateau state also dat bear Danfulani and dey are xtains.Okay, Thanks But what about the Christian thing. Is it true that about 70% or so of Tarabans are Christians? |
pDude: Correct!^^^ Why wont you hail a fellow sadist like yourself. I recall you running around the vert first ALUU thread when the news just came out( before the video), spurning unimaginable hate against young boys you never meant and almost fighting against some of us who were saying that jungle justice of any kind( esp of young boys we weren't even sure at the time if they were really guilty of the 'crime' that were alleged to ave committed) was completed wrong. This was one of what you said that day( and it is not even the worst thing you said): All this yan yan yen yen yan yen yen yen yen yen yan yan sentimental talk is getting boring. WTF were 5 sane boys doing in an uncompleted building, smoking weed surrounded by electronic appliances like phones and laptops? Were they using the uncompleted building's Wi-Fi? Or were they squatting in the building because the recent floods had driven them out of their abode? Maybe they were having a gay Fun.Guy, the Environment is not the cause of your miserable life; No, you cant make sense of the mess it is by blaming every other thing but you. YOU are mostly responsible for its current state. DEAL WITH IT. By the way, I pray for you. I pray that God somehow gives some bit of Light to your path...See? Am praying for you. You should try that sometimes. All the best. |
abdulkayus: I can some ppl displayin their inherent hatred to anytin north here. Anytin frm d north dey term it aboki and islam, nt 4gettin dat there are over 100 tribes in d north and ppl there jus speak hausa as a unifyin language, some ppl in d north dont even understand hausa ma self.Dont mind dem joor! Plz i asked a question on pg.5; can you take a look at it. Thanks. |
Decryptor: Will this news revert the price of my favorite indomie super pack from N60 back to N50?No, it wont. That is a 'cassava flour' problem ie wanting to PRODUCE some flour locally here in Nigeria and mixing it with imported flour/wheat, in other to reduce spending more than #600billion annually to tottally import it. But more companies are beginning to use this High Quality Cassava Flour(HQCF) which means more money for poor farmers, who can hopefully afford to feed better, provide some level of health care for their families, send their children to better schools, etc; and also provide some jobless youths roaming the strrets today some employment and dignity as processors, transporters, designers etc. Hopefully, as Economics of scale sets in, the price may revert back or even go lower, but the crash of Gov Suntai wouldn't do so. STU.PID question!! |
Sagamite: As per the governor. I hope he is not dead, he is just injured. Many of you forming this level of anti-corruption czars are the most corrupt in ypur private lives. You just haven't been given the opportunity to go big. I know this from the @bolded |
ismhab: HE IS NOT ABOKI BUT A CHRISTIAN, BUT HE SPEAKS HAUSA.But his middle name is Danfulani, does that mean he is Fulani? Or is he Jukun? I heard only recently that more than 70% of Taraba are Christains. Is that right? PS: I know there are a few Fulanis that are xtain, is he one of the very few ones? |
Sky walker: u wanna kill a beast? U cut its throat, not its right hand coz it'll come back at u with its left hand. D ban of d drug is like cutting d right hand. There are other drugs -by the way, this beast has a billion hands. All d FG did was cut one. There re 999999 left. This particular story is only part of a larger Pharmacovigilance policy that was approvd by FEC yterday. A policy dat PSN and NMA hv bn pushing for yrs nw. Read oda papers for sm details |
Sky walker: Stupidddd FG. Always taking the easy way out.Dont think that sm of u think b4 you comment. To comment no bi must....smh |
greateros: ITS NOW VERY CLEAR THAT THOSE CORPERS WERE KILLED BY PDP KILLER TUGS DISGUISING AS CPC ALL WITH THE SINGLE AIM OF TARNISHING GENERAL BUHARI'S NAME!SHUT ya mouth my frnd. The post-electn crisis was instigatd directly and indirectly by CPC agents who told d very gullible peeps in d north that they won the electn and where riggd out by d PDP( which was a lie). Top PDP leadas and sm oda northern elites who the mobs taught didnt support d 'turn' of d north sufficiently were also victims. The statements of Buhari b4 dat electn and his very slow response to the crisis( he was only 'forcd' into making a statement cos overwhelming pressure on him by diff groups esp foreign powers), making him at least indirectly responsible for the crisis. This and sm oda irresponsible tins of top CPC leadaship made them lose my support( i supportd Buhari in 2011 electns) subsequently. By d way, you do not need much resources to instigate an impressionable mob to commit atrocities.. This post-electn crisis is diff from BH though |
Rooneyboy: Now u can convey ur point without calling me a kid, I take that to be an insult .Aplogises... |
I understand if UN wants to work in harmony with existing regional apparatchiks but the president should not see it as a "messiah invite" because the consequences far outweighs the benefits. |
maclatunji: ^ He should step-up his game and LEAD. He should fire his advisers and subordinates that don't perform. And if he is still too tired after this, he can always resign.SHUT ya mouth maclatunji. Aren't you tired of 'talking', Empty talk that is? |
folahann: Very funny.Or Jokes section, lol |
Two of the projects close to my heart: Power sub-stations at Makeri and Panshin. It would make a real difference in the lives of those people in the two regions. It is gratifying that more Transmission and Distribution lines are been completed and commissioned across some parts of the country..when would the sub-station in Asaba be finished and commissioned? Thumps up... |
Good job fash...lots of opportunities in that hustling city of Lag |
Good... Money for the farmers; jobs for the young The policy is working...... |
Rooneyboy: This PDP people again.Dont know why you guys would keep repeating this thrash. Azazi implied that some northern POLITICIANS who cotested the primaries in the PDP wit GEJ( as well as some other nprthern elites) hijaked the BH thing in order discredit the govt of GEJ, not that PDP itself is responsible. You guys should stop repeating this lie cos it feeds the propaganda of BH operatives and sympathizers and makes it difficult for us to focus on the real source( cause) of the insurgency so it could be crushed as quickly as possible. Both Senators Ndume and Zanna where in ANPP Borno when their governor( ALi Modu Sheriff- current Chairman Board of Trustees of ANPP) was harboring top members of the BH including Ahj Fudu who was i think his commissioner for Religious Affairs; Senators Ndume and Zanna only defected to PDP last. Top guns like Ciroma and Keita who also promised to make the govt of GEJ ungovernable if he won are in PDP however as are some others. Bottom line: some northern elites( from different political parties or even those not in any political parties) are directly or mostly indirectly( by virtually doing nothing) supporting the current insurgency for supposed political gains. PS: The core group of BH are still religious Extremists who want to impose their own vision of Islam on both moderate Muslims and non-Muslims; the elites are only hijacking and taking advantage of the situation for their own political gain. |
mecus4love: Well done my great governor. Pls advice the President to do thesame to minister of powerWetin dey do you sef? Dont you know that Oga President na Genleman? Arrange yasef o b4 you receive ya own floggings tru ya lappy, lol kai i still dey laugh o..hahaha..... |
Bhahahahaha.....kai! i laugh many laughs tilli laugh sef tire me.. Which tori pesin no go hiear for Naija; Una no go kill pesin for this country o.. Govanor abi?..hahaha...... |
Great...more of these Transmission and Distribution lines shld be completd and commissiond in order to stabilize power even more... When wud the Transmission line in Asaba be completd? |
Feed me more: Which trader? If you believe that story, you can believe anything.Good. Believe what ever you want to believe. By d way, whether the 'story' is true or not was not the point of my comment, but this idea that once a Nigerian gets involves with money then there must be corruptn involvd is stu.pid and frankly annoying. Am Nigerian, am NOT CORRUPT and i can say same for most of my close pals. My experienc is that most of d peeps always trying to prove that virtuali every Nigerian is corrupt are themselves corrupt. These ppl hv blockd their results or paid for job placements etc....it is possible that dis guy 'stole' d money or was a courier for other corrupt ppl but it is equally possible that he was just a 'smart' Nigerian who didnt want to declare all d money on him so he wont pay sm charges; and hope you know that most nigerian traders carry huge cash around when going to the market including international markets |
Cultured: The truth of the matter is that the guy was to courier the fund for highly placed person(s)in the country, and it was this same people involved that bribed the judge to make this ridiculous judgment . Or how best could one explain the fact that they guy in question was fined to forfeit 25% of the fund instead of finding out the true source of the fund , I mean, the given excuse of the fund as been a contribution from his business associates to buy goods for them in Dubai is too lame . And even if it was to be a contribution from his associates , he still violated the law of anti money laundering and ought to have been punished accordingly .And hv u read the Anti-Money Laudering law lately? |
safarigirl: Nigerian government, chai! This is coded theft. By 25% going to the FG, what they mean is, 3% to EFCC for catching the mugu, 2% to the judge for coming to that judgement, 8% to state governors and the remaining 17% to ministers and co.Just SHUT ya mouth there |
feelamong: This is a country of jokers and clowns!Read the article you are criticizing b4 opening yr mouth wide and Shouting....quite d noise making plz |
That's why corruption is very high in the country, a man caught with $7 million and has no explanation of where he got it from and a corrupt government who wants 25% of doing nothing
Didnt you read d article? The traders who own d money went to the EFCC to claim d money but they had to forfeit 25% of d part of d money that the guy did not declare to the authorities; this forfeiture is apparently according to d new Anti-Laudering law.. |
jp philips: I submit humbly that Nigeria should thread with caution because we lack the financial muscle to carry on with such expedition at this period.I read yr previous loooong comment and i smh. The whole discuss rest on 2 points: 1st, does the current situatn in northern Mali where a disparant group of extremist who are coming from every part of d Muslim world and trying to set up that region as an international terroist base pose a grave threat to Nigeria and d West and Sahel African region, enuf that Nigeria needs to take every sensible means possible to dislodge them? 2nd, is Nigeria going this alone or is she collaborating with other affectd countries and institutns in an international effort to dislodge these ppl from Mali? My answer to d 1st questn is yes- it constituents one of d gravest threats to our national security and those of our neighbours, to d extent of even bn an Existential threat. On d 2nd questn, Nigeria is working with ECOWAS, AU, EU and UN in an international effort to dislodge these terroists; i think d EU and UN is to provide sm equipments and logistics( including a lot of the finances needed) while ECOWAS countries( led by Nigeria of course) are expectd to mostly provide the ground troops. Is there sm possible downsides to our intervening? Absolutely. Wud it hv bn better that this situatn isnt happening? Yes. But it is already upon us, and the consequences of not doing anything or not doing enuf out of fear is better imagine. I completely agree with you though that we ought to be careful and SMART bout this whole thing cos this is quite diff from other interventns we had previously undertaken......your talk on strongest military in Africa, and SA selling military wares to d UN etc was a disgression IMO and does not concern this particular mission...pray that these terroists agree to leave Mali as negotiatns continue OR pray that our soldiers smarshe them as quickly and effectively as possible. We hv no other choice in d mata. Good day. |
