chronique: What type of human being are you? Do you even know what it means to comprehend an issue before you talk? What kind of education were you given? Did you read the original post before commenting? Where did they say in that post, that GEJ built it? So because he commissioned it,he's now a vulture taking praise for another man's job? Where on earth did you get the idea that commissioning a completed project explicitly means you're the originator of the project? Smh. When foreigners see people like you talking on nairaland, they'd think this is how most Nigerians are. Please, don't just talk and contribute because people are talking. Talk when you have something meaningful to contribute or you keep quiet and learn.
GEJ BUILT it from start to finish.

The Conntract for Omotosho II was given in 2010, and the turbines ordered towards the end of that year from GE; whilst, actual construction began in mid-2011. It is finishing now in 2013 on schedule, with the Plant, Transmission Line and Switchyard, Gas Pipeline, etc- all built under GEJ.
http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/ge-to-supply-gas-turbines-for-omotosho-power-project/72571/

OBJ conceived the NIPP idea alright and provided initial funding for it(and he gets the credit for that); Yar'adua stalled it, and in the particularly Nigerian way, almost derailed it; whilst, GEJ revived (SAVED) and practically built it. Its just that simple, really.

shachris03: At least he has something doing for a leaving. He lives for a purpose, can't say the same about you.

Mind you, the report said jonathan is commissioning the power plant. It did not say that he built it. That plant is the property of a private company.

Read http://www.nipptransactions.com/ndphc-generating-companies/omotosho-power-plant/

GEJ is a vulture that lives off other peoples hardwork.
And he says it again. This time with penance...

shachris03: Dude, can you build a house without foundation? OBJ 'wasted' 8 years laying the foundation for most of this 'privatized' power project that GEJ is going about playing the vulture and reaping where he did not sow. OBJ is a man with foresight. He had a master plan for Nigeria unlike most clueless presidents that just go about building rampant project.

GET your facts right, the power plant in question was built on a partnership with a private company http://www.nipptransactions.com/ndphc-generating-companies/omotosho-power-plant/ Actually, the company even owns it.

It is not the Nigerian Government that built it. GEJ sold out the company where OBJ and Yar'dua left it
. He is merely a vulture taking the glory for what he contributed nothing in achieving.

awodman: I am a member of the FUTO community and those pics posted is actually the true reflection of some of the facilities in the school
1) The queuing up for water is normal cos the main source of water supply in the school are the hand-pumps better known as Man-power
2) The lecture theatre shown is actually supposed to be an engineering workshop but was converted to a lecture cos of lack of lecture halls
3) the mechanical workshop is what it is..an eyesore

However,in the last two years via the effort of TETFUND many new facilties have been springing up in the school..
1) The engineering workshop has been expanded..the both of them...but not yet furnished
2)the hostel abandoned by NDDC since 2004 has been completed
3)An new engineering complex with lecture halls, labs and offices is been constructed and is almost at completion stages
And many other projects going on and some completed
So my point..this things exist but effort is been made to correct them
If not that it is damn hard to get ready info from Govt cos those people in Govt who are suppossed to be in charge of info gathering don't know their left from their right, I wud have posted Pics/Videos on d very significant work done by TETFUND in many Universities. But I hope to do so one of these days..

Any person who does not see/acknowledge d significant improvements in certain Infrastructure in our Universities in d last few years, esp from TETFUND (ETF), is sick in d head, ignorant or just a liar. The UNIBEN I graduated just a few years ago is not d same UNIBEN I saw when I visited this year.... The Infrastructure obviously needs much more improvements, but to denial some changes is wicked. Posting of selected, undated Pics wud not change that

otokx: Cheap publicity stunt; ALSCON should major in their majors and not in their minors. In other news there is still no electricity in UNIPORT and ALUU.
How is it a 'publicity stuck'? ALSCON has a 540MW Power Plant but only needs about 180MW to run its operations for now, so has an Excess 360MW which it can sell to customers on d National Grid that needs power (and they are very many of them) and get real money in return. How is that a 'stunt'??.... There are many Cops currently in this same position today eg Flour Mills, Dangote Cement, etc. This shld not be surprising seeing the new Privatised/Liberalised Power Market...

Though I hardly talk or care about 2015, this is actuali one of d chief reasons why I shld care more... Am afraid that if any other person suceeds GEJ in 2015 (esp if, I am sorry to say, he is a Northerner), that person wud reverse many of d extremely crucial policies that GEJ is painstakingly pursuing (particularly in Power and d Oil sector) so as to appear 'patroitic' to an Ignorant and fearful public, just as Yar'adua very fooolishly reversed/sit on many of d few policies which OBJ got right thereby not only ending up doing almost nothing in 3 years but also practically taking us to ground zero in many of those things... GOD FORBID that any person tries to reverse or even delay d ongoing Power Reform Process for instance!! Maybe I reali need to start caring much about 2015

theoctopus: Let me obliged you and assume for once that you are sincere and that you didnt take 6 bottles of your usual, lol

1. There is no one I have ever seen or read that have said GEJ is perfect and never makes mistakes.

2. There is no policy of government anywhere in the world, no matter how laudable, that doesnt have a short coming. Even landing in the moon came with short comings and there where those who criticized the crazy amount America spent just to land on the moon that has no significant benefit so far for mankind

But when you open a thread and the first thing you type are insults upon insult on GEJ, why do you expect anyone to take you serious? If you see a government policy or action and you think there are issues that need to be addressed, then by all means, we can discuss it. But here is a short list of what GEJ has done and your corresponding responses:

GEJ's achievements Your responses

1. FOI bill signed into law: It is not our immediate problem! They are deceiving us! Is that what we need now? It is fake!

2. Rails being revamp and trains working again: What kind of outdated trains are these. They must have spent 1 trillion! They are deceiving us!

3. Airports remodelled and commisioned: Is airport our problem? It is a lie, show us pictures! The pictures are photoshoped! It looks like a bicycle park in the USA

4. 100s of Almajiri schools built: It is a lie! Is that our problem? Why didnt he built model schools for them?

5. No more fertilizer fraud in the agric sector: They are lying to us! We dont need fertilizer, we need jobs!
God bless you....

Gbawe: If you want to wallow in uncouthness, illiteracy and small-mindedness then be my guest. Who typifies backwardness and the sad reality of what has happened here if not your agbero self?

The Turks are in your country doing what Nigerians should be doing and positioning themselves to make a fortune , much of which will be repatriated to their Country, from your rich folks while a badly brought-up gutter mouth like you is insulting others rather than reflecting on that development.

Take a look in the mirror to see the small-minded apologist and worshipper of mediocrity holding Nigeria back. Anyway, I understand your childish rudeness. I have, once again, frustrated your effort to fraudulently steal achievements for GEJ and that stings badly.

plaindealer: OBJ initiated built all the power plants GEJ is commissioning from AFAM to Omotosho, Olorunshogo, Geregu, Papalanto.

Lagos and federal power projects are 2 different things like apples and oranges.

FG power plants MWs have little or no effect on Nigerians because everything is fed into the inefficient and almost obsolete national grid while Lagos state is targeting specific areas with it's power plants which means Lagos state can provide uninterrupted power supply to many areas of the state while the FG with all it's power infrastructure can not to anyplace or any soul in Nigeria uninterrupted power supply. Spot the difference, it's easy....

Lagos state is running circles around the FG and their disgraceful power policies and it takes skills, dedication and creativity to do all that.
