asha 80: to be honest i wish those ncp guys stand their ground and reverse that sale....better more time is used to do the right thing than forever be in the hands of an imcopetent firm.We do not learn from past mistakes. I wonder why Ohaneze Ndigbo have remained silent. How can a company promoted by a shady and dubious business man be preferred than Eastern Electric promoted by the 5 SE state governments and Barth Nnaji's Geometrics? It casts a doubt over the transparency of the entire process. |
Sincere 9gerian: By the way, if we talk in terms of connections, the other company (Eastern electrics) is backed by all southeast governors. So who is more powerful between Emeka Offor and the 5 southeast governors?^That is where the Patience Jonathan/Aso Rock connection comes in. An outbreak of hypocrisy. Sure you are less concerned about competence. As a poster above rightly pointed out, members of the technical sub-committee last week voted against handing over the firm to Interstate. Their argument was that Enugu DISCO was too crucial to be left in the hands of a company that had to take advantage of the 18 or 21 days window to make payment after 10 other competitors had closed their deals. If a firm had to take advantage of an extended window to make payment, how are we sure it will be able to manage the DISCO? A firm that could not easily pay $93million, how will it ensure and fund the upgrade of the distribution network? Competence should Trump Connections. Clause 4 of the Share Sell Agreement provides that BPE and the preferred bidder 'MAY' agree to extend agreed date for payment. BPE in as much as it has the powers to extend the payment date, it can also revoke their bid. BPE ought to have revoked Interstate's bid/contract. All the preferred bidders were given a 6 month window to source for funds, and 10 met the deadline. Interstate was unable to pay a dime! Can we categorize that as competence? |
solomon111: Disprove a generally acknowledged fake report from SR?Na so una disprove during her ill health saga, not until she opened up on her ordeal and you all suffocated in your denials. SR has its own failings but it is more credible than the NTA. I cant discountenance this report. The same woman told the whole world after 'her resurrection' that some of her friends who acts as her 'Proxy' sold some of her things while she was on sick bed. It shouldn't come as a surprise if she has secret business interest in Offor's company. Several major newspapers also reported that Emeka Offor's Interstate bid could not be cancelled because he had the backing of powerful officials in the Presidency. http://leadership.ng/news/100913/ncp-wades-emeka-offor-nnaji-s-bid-enugu-power-firm http://www.dailyindependentnig.com/2013/09/interstate-electrics-may-lose-enugu-disco/ |
Nigerians are naturally hospitable. Isn't the guy a media consultant? He is a hired gun paid to shore up the image of his client. He interviewed a commissioner and played tennis with the governor. He had all the nice things to say about the developmental strides in Delta State and how hospitable Deltans are, while he gave a not-too-good impression about Onitsha. In fact, he failed to highlight any good side of Onitsha and painted a primeval setting(tales of a donkey strapped to the back of an Okada driver) "You drive over the Niger Bridge, enter the neighbouring state and a different world. One where thousands of the small machines ferry people and any goods you can think of around. We saw one driver with four passengers, two adults and two children precariously balanced in front and behind him. Oil barrels containing God knows what, weighing heavily on the clearly inadequate suspension. I was told someone had seen an Okada carrying a donkey, strapped to the driver as though he was giving it a piggy back. I don’t know if I believe this, but, from what I saw in Onitsha that day, I can’t rule it out. The drivers are quite mad. We were there for about a minute before our car had its first near miss. We were to have many more in the next half an hour, with the rules of the road, like driving in the same direction on a dual carriageway, simply ignored." "The noise is deafening. As the Okadas rev their tiny engines, they sound like a swarm of very loud insects buzzing inside your head. You very soon begin to choke on the fumes of burning oil and petrol. It was quite a relief to cross back over the bridge into the far more serene and calm home ground of Asaba." |
gratiaeo: Lagos State governor is one Some people won't like this. Anybody seen Olisa Metuh @Topic: Obviously Jubril Aminu is still seething with anger. Nyako frustrated his senatorial re-election bid. He offered Jonathan the best advice. Concentrate on delivering the deliverable(s) and Nigerians shall reward by re-electing him. |
Another muscle flexing thread, I wish ya all 'goodluck'. Before then, let's put certain facts into perspective. Total Budget of Akwa-Ibom State under the Akpabio administration(2007-2013)- N2.444trillion Total Budget of Lagos State under Fashola administration(2007-2013)- N2.945trillion * Allocation for recurrent expenditure in Lagos State budget(s) is more than twice that of Akwa Ibom i.e overheads and personnel costs etc. Lagos have more than twice the work force of Akwa Ibom. Akwa Ibom have more money to spend on capital projects than Lagos. * * |
Ojigho: @thread. Sincere 9gerian and co,for your information,Pondi Keston is Tompolo's biological younger brother. I won't have expected him not to deny cos in a society like ours,it's an impossible thing to find anything wrong with the misdeeds of family members when they are in the corridor of power. Are you sure he is related to Tompolo ![]() ![]() |
Sincere 9gerian: He has said he doesn't own one, while those who have private jets admitted they have one. If you insists Tompolo has one because that's what will make Tinubu happy, then prove it. Even in the law courts, it is he who alleges that has to prove. You cannot insist I bought a new car when I did not. And if you must insist, then prove it. I called you and the people that cooked up the story LIARS because you cannot prove anything. You'r all shameless liars, hoping to convert Nigeria to Tinubus conquered territory.Another pointless drivel. Remove the beam from your own eye before casting aspersions on others. Its an obvious truth that you are a notorious liar, a renowned one at that. Just because you are beholden to a certain politician does not mean others are also mendicants foraging for their daily bread or professional griots who sing to politicians for their supper. Quit this crude tactics of finger pointing and unprovoked attacks, these politicians don't give a damn about you. Concentrate more on life outside NL, life is too short my brother! ![]() |
DaLover: I don't understand, how does saying someone bought a jet translate to defamation of character, such that Tompolo would start hiring expensive lawyers to prove himself clean,Unfortunately, through this refutation its obvious Tompolo's camp consider the news circulating about his so called private jet acquisition as not only concoction of lies but also maliciously cooked up to tarnish his reputation or defame him. Again, I insist that Mr. Kestin's bland refutation does not disprove the allegation. Can this rebuttal whitewash his image and bring an end to the so called lie(s)? Is Kestin, Tompolo's attorney? Nothing suggests that. |
Standing5: As a Gej-must-remain-beyond-2015 advocate i guess, or why do you think APC is responsible and not PDP rebels? ![]() @Sincere 9gerian, in one of your posts you claim that you do not support the PDP and that your allegiance is solely to GEJ. Why do you assume that commenters who critic GEJ must be APC members? This madness of fing£r pointing, taunting and whining is absolutely getting out of hand. I am quite sure that 95% of NL politics section commentators are not card carrying members of political parties. NL is a marketplace of diverse and differing opinions. |
R.I.P. He has been out of circulation for quite a while. |
Sincere 9gerian: The latest from the bag of tricks of APC dogs is to cook up LIES to score cheap political points and insist on it even after the TRUTH is out. When it was reported that Pastor Ayo Oristejafor acquired a private jet, the pastor admitted and explained that it was a gift. Likewise other business men and pastors that acquired private jets. So why should Tompolo deny he acquired one if truely he did? Its like accusing me of buying a new car when I did not. And I dont even have the right to deny the accusation because even if I do, the APC e-warriors would stick to their LIES.Considering the negative publicity that greeted Pastor Ayo's private jet gift, even though he never denied it. How much less Tompolo, a former militant who claim to be fighting the cause of his people who are mired in poverty and neglect, and was awarded a juicy contract running into billions of naira for surveillance of pipelines, and the large scale theft of crude oil. Even if he has a private jet, he will deny having it so as not to set tongues wagging and cast doubt over his agitation. You do not expect him to show to the world that he is only championing the cause of his pocket or to sully his reputation. dem dey vandalize pipeline, crude oil dey miss, and a whistle blower claim say Tompolo buy jet and you expect him to admit? You go admit? |
Paparazzi Magazine All manners of soft sell magazines in circulation quoting 'sources' that only exists in their minds and practicing yellow journalism to boost their sales.Btw, whatever his state of health is, his family and well wishers should do the worrying since he is no longer a public official. |
solomon111: why not show us pictures of the jet or shut up.You don vex I wasn't the one who made the allegation so why should I produce the pictures? We have no means of verifying the truth, both from the article of Kikiowo and this from Kestin. The onus is on Tompolo to sue the author of the article for defamation if his hands are clean. |
In what capacity is Mr. Ponzi offering this refutation? In his personal capacity; hired gun masquerading as an advocate of truth or as media aide to High Thief Government Tompolo ![]() This write up does not disprove the private jet allegation, more like licking Tompolo's bum hole ![]() |
enigmang: Guy did you look at the map at all?? that is not the main entrance, it is not even the back gate entrance route he usually follows... Amaechi definitely knew the road was blocked.... his aides definitely knew also.. even if you insist there was no form of communication.... his aides are on ground and their colleagues (which are police officers that blocked the road) will definitely tell them even informally...i am sure he insisted on taking that route.I do not dispute the fact that the information would have been brought to his attention, but it would be categorized as 'unofficial'. The last I checked, freedom of movement still exists in the constitution. My argument still remains that, if the police had gone through the 'official' process of informing him ahead as the chief security officer of the state or his security aides, that would have trounced Amaechi's sympathy stunt. |
kingbang: You should be among the top 3 dunces on Nairaland. No jokes kid, your stewpidity on Nairaland is about to hit an all time high. I am serious. You just confirmed that you are another hopelessly irrelevant no-lifer. |
kingbang: I thought demdem was dumb until i came across you kid. Am waiting for the day you would make absolute sense on Nairaland and not your usual anti-GEJ rants born out of frustration, bland hatred and idiocy!I prefer to be associated with @Demdem than being in the midst of confederacy of dunces. Band of cheerleaders who consider those not in their camp as enemies, and having a different opinion from pro-GEJ camp as a taboo or sacrilege. |
kingbang: Sycophancy and blind hatred have beclouded your sense of reasoning and Amaechi seems to be taking good advantage of that son. What an idi0t! I should be the one telling you to get your head out of GEJ's a$s. You are just a sad lonely one using various monikers but with an extremely low IQ. |
stebell: My guy stop being @ Lagos and spooing rubbish about PH and hw tins happened here. Yu not frm here, yu only hear wat yu want to hear. Gov. Amaechi was not blocked frm entering Govt House. Like de OP said, the road was blocked to avoid clashes of supporters of de diff factions. The police blockade was 2km away from de bavk gate of Govt house. Come down to PH and see for urself where de nPDP office is and see if it is close to Govt House. UnamWhy do you spend so much of your time repeating lies? |
kingbang: So this post proves that there was no prior communication? You are a slow kid! Ewu awusaInadequate intelligence. You are obviously too dense to tell fact from fiction. |
joker5180: u do not need to insult the guy, jst provide an evidence that such comminication took placePay no mind to the useless muppet. Its one of the traits of 'our own is on the saddle, so let's support him' and 'you are either with us or against us'. A regimented group-think mentality that does not tolerate either debate or dissent. |
kingbang: How did you come about this? What a shameless sycophant!!! Who told you no form of communication went on between the CP and Amaechi's security entourage? You have chosen to believe Amaechi's lies and propaganda simply because it serves your interest but just know that most Nigerians are not that silly. Amaechi has been taking advantage of insincere, sycophantic and timid folks like you for long.Brainless m0ron. If the Police had informed him ahead, they would have said so while stating the reason the road was barricaded and why the Governor wasn't allowed access. They was no reference to any prior communication between both parties in the statement released by the police. "When contacted on the matter, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mrs. Angela Angela Agabe (DSP), said she had aware of the incident. She explained that the police had to barricade Forces Avenue because the New PDP secretariat was opened there by the Abubakar Baraje PDP faction. The new secretariat is located on the same road." “The governor has other routes to get to the Government House. So I don’t see how this should be an issue,” Agabe said. http://ynaija.com/politico/police-bar-amaechi-from-entering-govt-house/ |
Purveyor of outright lies and political fabrication. Did the police inform the security details attached to Amaechi ahead, that the road leading to the main entrance of the Government House would be blocked? NO. Amaechi being the Chief executive and Chief security officer of the state, should have been informed ahead. The mere fact that no form of communication existed between the police and the security details attached to the Governor before he got to where he met the road block shows that the Police do(es) not accord him any respect or regard as the Chief Executive and Chief Security Officer of the State. If the police had gone ahead to officially inform his security aides or protocol officer, it would have trounced Amaechi's sympathy moves. The same police who re-routed Amaechi, blocked major roads for an appendage of power. What a country! |
Fasheun is the most irresponsible Yoruba elder on the face of earth. He has turned to Al-Mustapha's carrier bag, traveling the length and breadth of the country bearing placards of questionable patriotism. A self-serving and manipulative 75-year-old man in the midst of other mercenary interests his kids age, all forming ethnic champion(s). |
Omexonomy: is their anything like security vote from that state? I guess oshio done use am smoke indian hemp finish. Are you not the dealer that sells the indian hemp What a brainless m0ron!"But the Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomhole, argued that even though the governors collect security vote, they should not be blamed for the security situation in Nigeria." "I am sure that you understand that throwing money at a problem does not really mean that the problem will disappear,’’Oshiomhole argued." "Explaining further, he said: ‘’The tools or the institutions primarily responsible for security are federal institutions. The army, police, state security services and lately the civil defense corps. All these are federal agencies. The management of our borders to know the people coming in falls under federal control." "‘’For example, I have procured several vehicles, communication gadgets, portability to man various out of town and within town checkpoints. These things were made available to the Nigeria Police. So, even if I give all the money in the coffers of the state government and I have no control over them, what difference can it make?" "Here in Edo the traditional rulers have had to persuade us to give them vehicles to set up vigilantes’’. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/05/insecurty-what-has-the-security-votes-secured/ |
The frequent occurrences of kidnap cases is a pointer to the Nation's poor security system. Kidnapping constitutes an embarrassment to the Nation and not just Edo State. What useless piece of advice do you intend to offer to the Governor, knowing that he is just the ceremonial chief security officer of the State? You are not privy to information on efforts of the State security council in curtailing the scourge. You are unaware if he is exchanging notes with Uduaghan and co, and if the Police is gathering intelligence. Given the enormosity of the challenge in combating the crime wave of kidnappings, you will admit that it takes time. You blame the Governor for the helplessness of the FG controlled Nigerian Police to nip it in the bud. Who does that if not an hypocrite? Edo is not a strife torn state as Borno, so you must not expect a reasonable Governor to arm and equip civilians. I am sure Archbishop Kattey and the two Anambra monarchs kidnapped last month were not kidnapped in Edo, so why make it seem as if it is the birth place of kidnapping in Nigeria? You now accuse the Governor of doing nothing, yet many of you maintained a conspiracy of silence when he accused the IGP and Police Force of bungling the murder investigation of Oyerinde. |
Interesting! We also need a 12 point draft on how to identify a PDP stooge. Its pertinent that we distinguish the pay-for-hire attack dogs, yes-men and pawns of the two political parties from genuine commentators, except the drafter of the points on how to identify APC stooges is a PDP stooge who will not like to highlight his own failings. ![]() |
I want to believe that Punch made an error. It should be N278million and not billion, but if true then, this administration will go into record as the most fraudulent ever in the history of Nigeria. The total allocation for capital expenditure in the 2013 budget is N1.5trillion. The water weeding equipment of N278billion as quoted is almost 19% of the total capital expenditure. The allocation for critical infrastructure(including *Transport, Power, Works, Aviation, Gas pipelines and Federal Capital Territory) in the 2013 budget is between N497billion and N500billion. How did they manufacture the contract sum of N278billion for just a project? |
Sincere 9gerian: If you call another person spin doctor, what then do we call you? Spin doctor master?Doc, you don vex for me I tried to read past the first paragraph and then stopped. As was expected, just another empty of substance tirade and fruitless effort to counteract unfavorable publicity, half truths, repetition of lies, name-calling and infantile propaganda. I quoted and stand by the author of the story who has remained faithful to the original story, insisting that he reported what he was told by Mr. Ali. I'll leave you to continue with the rather little-too-late crisis management. TRUTH is treason in the empire of Falsehood.Btw, the exclusive title of Spin Doctor Master is your Right. Nobody does it better than you do, I am still 'receiving training from you' , your Excellency! |
