Its nothing serious! GEJ is on top of the situation! |
It is impossible for Maina to defy senate summons and resist arrest with much arrogance and effrontery to sue the Senate without the support of GEJ. Enough of the charade, where kleptocrats are called upon to investigate thieves who rely on the support of a corruption aiding president. Its just a shame we have a nation that punishes hard work and meritorious service! |
The governors intending to move to the new party are possibly doing so out of political exigency as not to incur the wrath of most Northerners who hold a firm belief that power should shift to the North. Since it may be difficult for a Northern candidate to emerge as PDP's presidential candidate because the incumbent may likely contest, aligning with the new party which will most likely present a Northern candidate is the surest bet for them, so as not to be blacklisted for selling out if they(gov) chose to support GEJ! The governors, mostly second term governors may not be active in the new party but it will be politically suicidal for them not to support a northern candidate which the merger party will likely present! |
Okupe the slow witted buffoon! |
No, since vandalism and such can still happen. They should give it a year and still cut prices tho, figure something out but the prices should go down, if people feel the refineries are actually serving them then vandalism will go down but we cannot just cut the subsidy budget because we cannot expect vandalism to just stop, we need to be safe, people need time to change their attitude toward the whole thing. Its a very dicey situation but then running a country always is.
There is no way the refinery won't serve Nigerians with its current considerable capacity utilisation, all that is needed from government is "urgent" measures to curb or reduce pipeline vandalism. |
If this is true, shouldn't government cut down on the amount budgeted for fuel subsidy in the 2013 appropriation bill since we are locally refining 7.5million litres out of the average daily consumption of 35million litres? Who buys the AGO from them since the market is already deregulated and at what price does the companies buy it from them since the total cost of refining locally is much cheaper than importing? It is not enough to say that the refinery is working without knowing if we are being short-changed or not! |
Most Igbo commenters who felt betrayed by Rochas alliance with the new party simply because Ndigbo would have benefited more if they wholly give their support to GEJ aren't doing GEJ's second term ambition any good. The clannish display on this thread would make others outside the SE and SS feel there is a gang up against them and the votes of SE and SS alone won't return him to that seat. |
Bro/Sis that man Rochas is bringing nothing to Ndigbo from that merger rather than Vice president which igbos are not interested at this point. Instead of Vice president igbos would rather be content with how far GEJ administration has been repositioning us.
If what he is able to achieve in this alliance is a VP slot, then that is good for him and Ndigbo cos it is a good start, and it places him in a good stead for the presidency . A tacit support for PDP and GEJ doesn't guarantee Ndigbo the presidency and rapid development of the region, GEJ will still need to spread his developmental programmes across all regions. The man is astute politically, I believe he knows what he is up against! |
Dede1: If absolute power is within me, I shall give six lashes on the unclad bottom of anybody who gave a ratazz about Okorocha’s recent political foot shuffle. The man is an epitome of political rollercoaster.Guess the reason you are miffed is because you feel his loyalty and support should go to GEJ and not because he is a perceived turncoat cos most Nigerian politicians are. This is a man who rode to the office he presently occupy more on his name and goodwill than a political platform. I understand why you guys aren't disposed to this move of his, but you guys should give him the benefit of doubt. |
Some folks will eventually commit suicide out of frustration simply because Rochas opted for a new party. I do not know when APGA became the voice of Ndi Igbo. APGA became a dead party immediately they couldn't manage their intra party wrangling and that led to two factions of the party. Adieu APGA, waiting for Peter Obi to bury you. |
@Bilms, thanks to you for this expose if you were the one who sent this experience to Sahara Reporters. Its part of the responsibility of users to expose lapses especially in public corporations if we want them to stand the test of time. Those in the position to correct the inefficiencies both administrative and technical, and improve on service delivery will be able to access it from there, and hopefully will make amends! |
Reference: Politics is not a zero sum game. Its one of balances, expediency, interests. Even perfect ideologies require sacrificing ethics. One big assumption we always make is that everyone loves good governance. If so did we get here by accident.True talk*! But which of the parties have more of those with genuine interest in moving the country forward than the self serving ones? |
lagerwhenindoubt: There is no such Leader in the midst of Vultures. in other words, While Good Leaders exists, they cannot fare well in the overwhelming midst of Bad Leaders. As a Leader you cannot do well without your Followers supporting you all the way. go figureI concur, but there are genuine followers too. The present political landscape is what scares them! |
Reference: There's no such thing.Meaning? |
talktimi: you've already accepted Tinubu was corrupt as governor of Lagos state, you also said "one who harbours criminals is their kingpin" then you've inadvertently told Nigerians that we have no choice but to drop one "thieving" regime for another "thieving" regime which might even be worse than the first one. You can't say there are lesser thieves or evils because a criminal is a criminal, if one can loot the state treasury, how safe is the federal treasury from him ?No need to stress this chat any further, we both share similar opinion that folks with genuine interest in moving the country forward should get politically active. On choosing between two thieves, my candid opinion is not to go for neither. Rather than encouraging them, we should start searching for an honest leader! |
talktimi: emeprical arguments are the norm so let's speak with provable facts.I need not have facts that Tinubu was corrupt as governor of Lagos state, but the president with enormous executive powers left corrupt individuals like Tinubu without ordering for their prosecution. When SERAP tried to invoke the FOI on the Okigbo report to know what IBB embezzled, it was GEJ's attorney general that blocked the process. One who harbour criminals is their kingpin! |
tomakint: You still need to die and be reborn 7 timesI am aware you just learnt this phrase. No time again for featherbrained eediots! |
tomakint: You need to die and be re-born 7 times to understand my comment and even the politics in Nigeria!Don't get yourself wound up, I just emphasised that no past political office holder was as corrupt as GEJ is. |
tomakint: See who is talking, I am yet to come across any Nigeria who held public post that was (and still) as corrupt as TINUBU beside IBB!GEJ is more corrupt than them !!! |
Apart from Obi and Anyanwu to an extent, I see no other political heavyweight on the list. Pipsqueaks seeking relevance! |
Case dismissed unofficially!!! |
Demdem: i feel u however over a month is more than enough to sort out their differences especially knowing fully well that the leadership of the house is loyal to him. There is simply no excuse, afterall no one expects the NASS to return the budget to him the way he presented it to them.Agreed! |
tomakint: @OP your story is the true picture of the state of our rail system! However, there is still room for improvement becos a trip from Lagos to Ilorin should take less than 2hours unlike the clown on the other thread laying claims to 21 hours and taking strange and doctored pictures to back up his warped viewsBros go back to re-read the post. He is talking of a journey from Oshogbo to Ilorin within 2hrs which is unbelievable, while you are talking of Lagos to Ilorin for less than 2hrs. Na bullet train? |
superior1: Well, the guy hasn't come out to say that. You should know that some horse-trading is sure going on between them. It will end up in a case of you scratch my back, I scratch yours. The executive and legislature are both guilty of padding budgets! |
Demdem: If it was the NASS delaying, known retardeen cocck suckers would have feasted on this thread by now. Hypocrites.Comrade, We shouldn't be quick to blame him. The most likely reasons why the budget has not been assented to, is due to NA members padding the budget with over N60billion, mostly for constituency funds and that of pegging a bench mark for the budget! But all the same he should sort it out with the legislatives since his party is in the majority! |
@Op, your post is too good to be true! The journey from Oshogbo to Ilorin by road is less than 2hours and if we factor the poor state of Offa to Ilorin road, it should be a journey of approx two and half hours. Are you trying to say travelling by rail(locomotive train) is faster than going on road? Coupled with the fact that the train will have to stop at the Offa terminal, which will take at least 15minutes for passengers to alight and for others to board. Please I am confused, kindly enlighten me on how you made it a journey of within two hours or a little more |

deletrue: Oh my God. I know you will never disappoint me. You have once more displayed how senseless you are. So up till now it has not come into that your block head that it is one of the responsibilities of the public to protect government properties? When will you people learn to become wise so that the foolish ones like you will be reduced to the bearest number? Chief OkoroRambling of a 'tard! It is the responsibility of the government to protect its properties and manage them efficiently while that of the public is user responsibility, but how would you blame the public when government officials(NRC staff) deceitfully sells ticket above the normal capacity to unsuspecting travellers and claim that tickets sold are nonrefundable? No one is un appreciative of government's effort in revitalising the railways but it MUST get the management issues right! Assmonkey. |
ifebosco: most readGod bless you, Intelligent dude. Its a shame when ordinary citizens encourage government to buck pass its own dereliction of duty to average Nigerians, expecting you and I to take up the failings of a government elected to perform and earning huge emolument! |
ifihearam: here yourself talk at the bolded, that is your responsibility and not the Government. Should his excellency leave abuja and start monitoring the numbers of passengers on a trainHow is it my responsibility to ensure efficient management in public corporations? Isn't that why we have a bureaucracy and minister of transportation who is answerable to the president? Why should government embark on an exercise and its monitoring will prove difficult? Isn't the @Op protesting with this thread and that of the Vanguard link I gave? Well, I am not surprised cos I know you to always fawn on GEJ. I don't need GEJ to run my home for me other than doing what he was elected to do and getting it "right", only an harebrained schizo like you would! |
