Symphony007: The first paragraph of this article is stale and shambolic! I said it once and i'll say it again. I was glad to see that my president is not alof or ignorant to his country. For the fact that he saw something wrong on t.v and acted promptly!!!!!!
Don't be deceived, the President cannot claim he is oblivious of how dilapidated and uninhabitable police barracks and formations are. Every Nigerian knows this, so the President having a first hand assessment is a charade in a bid to show face as responsive. The President knows that the police force is underfunded, claiming that heads will roll is a form of buck passing the blame to others

PointB: The other reason I maintain it is idiocy to even mute buhari for 2015 is because part of the reason why democracy is yet to take root in Nigeria is because of id.iots such as Buhari who truncated democracy simply because they lacked foresight!

He jumped into the fray with little or no idea about what it takes to rule a country, and ended up creating more political tension than he solved.

Fast forward to recent years, what has buhari 'said' in recent time to show which direction he is going to lead the country if made president. I am not asking for what he has 'done', cos he I haven't heard him done anything other than campaigning during election.

What economic or political idea has buhari proposed with his own words (not some polished manifestoes)? Other than issuing threats of 'dogs and baboons will be soaked in blood' or treathening brimstone and fire if he loses election, pray say, what positive comment has the murderous ex-general ever made concerning his intention for Nigeria.

Let's even assume he intends to fight corruption. The big question is how? What are his plan for fighting corruption, and after that what next?

I rather hear this from the horse's mouth, than from paid agents and AC.N hacks who are only interested in what Tinubu will pay them once he gain unlimited access to the nation's coffers with immunity guaranteed courtesy of his effort in delivery at the ballots.
Bros, you were asked to provide a realistic option and not a trashy epistle!

Maxymilliano: Let me come in here Bro, PDP is not the problem of Nigeria. The party is only an association of MEN. Those MEN are the problem with Nigeria. Let me ask you, when was the PDP founded? Now also answer this, since when did Nigeria’s problems start? If you dissolve or disintegrate the PDP today, those men will simply go away to other places, take up new posts and continue to wreck havoc on this country.

It is therefore not enough to destroy the anthills of the savannah…you must also try to destroy and annihilate the ants themselves (especially their queen). They may scatter today; tomorrow they shall regroup and build a bigger anthill… and the cycle (again) continues.

Forget about the grandstanding bro, It is a CABAL!
I guess we both mean the same thing. These political elites are the same circled and recycled ones but should we all resign to fate or we take our destiny's in our hands by wrestling power from them?
Politics › Re: Jonathan’s Visit To Police College Meaningless — House Committee by takedat(m):
thelastPope: They should do an IQ test for these house of reps members. They are totally disgusting. You mean they are aware of this mess and did nothing for over 2 years now? So what is the work of the committee then? The man is indicting himself terribly. Their work is oversight. SO admiting that he is aware of the decay and havent done anything about it for 2 years is enough reason to recall him from the house. what a shameful statement to make. I guess he is not happy that the president has gone to see it for himself and has made them look very stup1d!
Even though the law makers may be partially accused of dereliction of duty in their oversight function, the affairs of the police is an exclusive preserve of the executive so the President cannot claim he was unaware of the dilapidated state of police formations and barracks in the country before Channels aired it. Having a first hand assessment of the police college is a charade since the same problems abound in all police formations and barracks. What has the President done with the recommendation of the Presidential Police Reform he constituted? Nothing! The first step would have been to summon the IGP, Minister and Osayande who are directly responsible for their welfare and demand they account for monies appropriated for police welfare!

gboss4sure: You still think Nigeria has hope of change? You are mistaken bro. Look deep around there aint change coming cause we ourselfs wont allow the change to effect due to our tribal and religious nature. You talk about change when people like Tinubu, Otedola, orji uzor, T.A orji, OBJ, IBB and all subsidy cabals are walking free. For Christ sake we all know these man has stolen us dry but what have been done to them? Nothing rather they are called awolowo of their time, given awards and you are talking of change, if they are prosecuted their tribe will take it as because he is youroba or igbo or hausa that's why they want to get to him #rubbish.

Stage a revolution today and the planners will go to the back and collect money and betray everyone. Start a revolution when an hausa man is a sitting president, the northerners will cry and start saying is because he is a northerner same applies to other tribes. As far as this country is concerned better don't get your hopes high cause you will be disappointed, until we the citizens change our way of reasoning and the way we hate ourselves then we can then start talking about change. But i don't see that ever happening.

Has ACN or CPC explain what we Nigerians we benefit if they dislodge PDP? NOPE they are only talking about getting rid of PDP only, they don't have better plans for this country.

PDP = Thiefs

ACN = Thiefs, na the same people from PDP, the same Blood

CPC = Thiefs, na the same people.

They are only making noise because they aint in power yet, Wait till they get there you will understand why they have been making so much noise. And better don't get your hopes high that this merger will work because am yet to see the possibilities. Ask yourself why the first one didn't work out, tinubu knows the answer. Just don't get your hopes high to avoid heartbreak just sip champagne and watch as events unfold. ACN is a branch of PDP. Mark my words.
Guy, its our collective duty to mobilise ourselves if we can't join these parties to hijack the process from them, but sitting down idly while deflecting our responsibility isn't the way out!

Gbawe: There will always be cross-carpeting by politicians in Nigeria because the stage of our political evolution means we cannot get away from that right now as there are too many crooks still involved in our politics while the loudmouth Nigerian youths, as we see from responses here, limit themselves to hurling insults from afar with no intention of getting involved to rid the nation of the 'crooks' they curse daily. It is all about 100% idealism for many Nigerian youths and zero% pragmatism. This makes many of them worthless, politically, to Nigeria .

The ACN,as an ambitious Party , has to deal with the political reality of Nigeria ,unlike you and others here, and come out with a pragmatic package that delivers success. It is up to the ACN to manage PDP entrants properly while retaining their core political identity and belief. This is demonstarted with Amosun who joined the ACN from another Party yet is fastiduously sticking to the template of governance of the ACN.

It is not just simply about getting on a high Horse, as you and others do daily, and saying naively all these men should be burnt at the stake when you and most Nigerian youths are not ready to step up and wrestle control from these crooks laughing at you. When you talk without pragmatism it is obvious people like you don't know what they want. Until you and other youths step up to rid Nigeria of the old boys you hate and insult from afar, then you will have to accept the current model i.e one that involves the old boys, some in their 80ties, recycling themselves from Party to Party till evolution and the principles of the lesser devil slowly get us where we need to go.

For now, show you can work with current reality by understand that, in the face of the inaction of you and other Nigerian youths, Parties will continue to use those who stand to be counted even if their motivation is sinister till the system becomes more clean. No Party can be composed of saints and angel because that Party will get nowhere in current Nigeria. Ask Utomi regarding how he fared last time despite being deemed a good guy.
Its amazing how people deflect the responsibility for their actions and choices, and blame others or circumstances for their problems without proffering a solution. Most folks against this merger on the pretence that there are the same failed political elites are not card carrying members of a political party nor aided in the finances of these parties , while they expect a positive change without any meaningful impact from them. We should as well revert to a One-Party system since people are satisfied with the status quo of having only PDP, a party responsible for the dysfunctional state we find ourselves!

The excuse that all political parties are the same without making an effort to get politically involved or mobilise to register a pro-people party is why Nigeria will remain an abysmal failure and Nigerians will continue in this dysfunctional state! Sincere 9gerian: I was expecting this thread to be flooded with projects. Unfortunately, nothing so far.
Incredible!

Where is the evidence of Buhari and his CPC magic in Nasarawa?
Have the people of Nasarawa felt the evidence of Jonathan who happens to be the President of all Nigerians irrespective of party affiliation? Is Buhari the chairman of CPC or just a former presidential candidate of the party? Though I have never been to Nasarawa but @Op will do us all the favour of confirming these projects since his well being depends on them.
The state through Al Makura is said to be working in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Transport to construct a mono-rail project from FCT to Mararaba to Gudi.
There is a free special school for the disadvantaged in the three senatorial zones of the state.
He has revived student scholarships for those in tertiary institutions. As if that was not enough his government has paid the WAEC and NECO
fees of secondary school final years students across the state. The governor also embarked on building and renovation of schools across the state, as part of efforts
to tackle the poor condition of infrastructure. He has also gone into partnership with National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrstructure (NASENI) to harness the solid mineral potentials in the state especially in the area of provision of science equipments for improved science education.
It should be noted, that when he assumed office, all tertiary institutions in the state were under lock and key, the staff members of the various institutions were on strike but the governor resolved it.
He also embarked on the construction of 3 kilometres road at each local government. In Lafia, the state capital he started road construction including those linking Kurikyo and Shendam roads, Angwan Tiv through Super Cinema and the one passing
Just saw this on FB n decided to share it.

I JUST GOT THIS FROM AN HAUSA GUY WHO IS EMBITTERED BY WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE NORTHERN PART OF NIGERIA TO SHARE WITH YOU ALL:

WHAT DOES THE NORTH WANT?
The NORTH should not blame President Jonathan for Whatever they reason.
Even the Sultan of Sokoto said the problems of the North are self inflicted......

All the important Positions in Nigeria are Occupied by Northerners. Yet they are not happy and millions of its people are suffering.
What Do they Wanthuh
**Vice President - North
**Senate President - North
**Speaker House of Reps - North
**PDP National Chairman - North
**PDP acting BOT chairman - North
**Head of Service - North
**INEC Chairman - North
**Inspector General of Police - North
**CBN Governor - North
**Chief Justice of federation - North
**President Court of Appeal - North
**EFCC Chairman - North
**President Federal high court - North
**National Security Adviser - North
**Chief of Defense Staff - North
**Controller, Customs Service - North
**Controller Prison Services - North
**Richest man in Africa - North.
**85% of Petroleum Marketers in Nigeria - Northerners
**80% of Oil Block Owners in Nigeria - Northerners
Yet, the Poorest states in Nigeria and Educationally backward areas in Nigeria are in the North.

Now ask yourself, who is the problem of the North? GEJ or Northerners?
Though I am a southerner but all you listed means nothing compared to the Presidency. There is a lack of mistrust and fear of domination so Northerners demanding power shift is normal. Even when northerners were in power, a lot of southerners also benefited. From the largesse.

taharqa: Plz provide me wit where u got d info dat #600billion had bn spent on d Gencos that was sold to 'RESUSCITATE' dem (only 5 were sold, not 6- Afam was not sold eventuali)... Kainji and Shiroro WERE NOT SOLD cos of dier oda stratigic water and agric uses; they were only concessiond to private hands, whilst Nigeria continues to wholly own them... A lot of d non-core lands and landed properties ownd by former PHCN as well as its debts are actuali unda d Management of d newly creatd National Liability Company, not all of them went with d DISCOS.... But so am clear, am not arguing that d bid price of d various GENCOs and DISCOs are equal to d amount of money that were eva spent on them since their constructn (for sm of dem up to 40 yrs), but that d prizes are reflective of d CURRENT values of d core assets and d need/economic advantage of putting them in private hands. The bid prize are certainly not give-aways by any sketch of d imaginatn, i insist. Plus, d process itself was TRANSPARENT to d extent of ff its own self-imposd and agreed rules
Even if Kainji and Shiroro hydropower plants were leased out for 15years, the amount they were auctioned is meagre considering that these plants have properties and facilities worth billions of dollar including expansive and expensive dams. Assuming without considering the puerile excuse of the sale of existing electricity firms(I.e they need private investment to put them back on track), what excuse will government give for auctioning/give away new power plants built with public funds? The said NELMCO itself has some structural problems. I maintain my stance that the billions of dollar invested from public funds have been diverted to private hands for cheap!

taharqa: As far as i know d money actuali spent by both OBJ and GEJ is not up to $10billion, if u hv any CONCRETE amount (not hearsay) plz share. And dis amount wud eventuali produce about 4600MW from NIPP alone, plus sm few oda thousands of MWs that wud be recovered from d old plants; thousands of kms of transmissn and distributn lines and substations are also inclusive..... Again, NONE of d 11 NIPP projects hv bn privatised YET; and d bid prize of d 5 old PHCN plants dat were privatisd generali was commensurate to dier present values as assertd by sm experts. Paying about $150- $200m for 60% stake of a plant is NOT a give away from any stretch of d imaginatn
Okay agreed that over $11billion was spent on the NIPP. Another $1.1billion will be borrowed this year

The six Gencos were auctioned at N107billion and government had spent close to N600billion to resuscitate them. While Kainji and Shiroro that billions of dollars have been spent on was sold for $760million and $364million including the properties attached to them. 60% of government share in 10 of the 11 distribution companies are said to be sold for N169billion, yet the landed properties of these discos are worth billions of naira. All the transformers, electric poles we bought with our monies have been auctioned to the buyers not to talk of other distribution facilities and you claim Nigeria gained from the privatisation when its actually personalisation of state utility to self and cronies. The bottom line is that this GEJ's privatisation exercise na still scam!

Wetin concern me if you apply the exact example to Lagos. I have no affiliation with ACN but I am Anti-PDP. If the sum of $16billion is just for NIPP projects, how much was spent on the other projects and how many megawatts have we achieved? Is the amount of money spent on these power projects commensurate with the cost it was privatised? Even if the privatisation kicks off today, it is impossible to have 24/7 power supply in every home and business establishment by 2019.
