taharqa: This is a LIE and you know it. 1st, where did u get d info dat GEJ hv spent $16billion on power Or that only 2000MW hv been (or wud be) produced from whateva money he has spent so far in d power sector?
Government is a continuum especially with the same party in power. The amount spent by GEJ and OBJ is more than the $16billion and how many megawatt have we generated? After investing heavily the true beneficiaries of it will be the Genco's When you compare the money spent and at what cost there were privatised.
Politics › Re: Buhari Intended To Stabilize Electric Power By 2019! by takedat(m): 1:17pm On Jan 18, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: Privatisation will solve many of those problems you listed. I so much believe in privatisation
Okay the personalised "privatisation of PHCN" to cronies will solve it. No wonder labour accused the FG of deceit for failing to launch the completed NIPP projects because they intend to hand it over to cronies. Best of luck
Politics › Re: Buhari Intended To Stabilize Electric Power By 2019! by takedat(m): 1:00pm On Jan 18, 2013
Its interesting to know that GEJ intends to stabilise power supply by 2015 after spending over $16billion to generate a little above 2000mw, in a country where rural electrification is a big problem, not much attention is been paid to transmission and distribution, where we buy our transformers, electric poles, pay for a "free" prepaid metre and tens of thousand of neighbourhood still ration power supply. I dey laugh o!

taharqa: issokay. So 'we are yet to see any meaningful achievement in Nasarawa' cos Almakura inheritd '12 yrs of pillage' in 2yrs BUT you expect GEJ to by sm form of miracle completely 'fix d pillage in Nigeria that hv bn going on in 40yrs' in 2yrs. You are a FAIR guy, my frnd.... So you know, i shall not respond to anything concerning GEJ on dis thread; like i said b4 if you want to discuss him open a thread and we will come. That's d diff, we will always come cos we at least hv some of d little 'meaningful achievements' he has done in 2yrs to clear up d mess he inheritd and d even more of such tins he is presently doing. We will come; I wish you guys also do d very few times u are askd
Bros GEJ na part of the system/status quo. Well I am less concerned how Nasarawa is governed. Those who reside in the state should tell us the level of development.Av a nice day

Its a very legitimate questn that am interestd in for many reasons.... I shall respond to yr 1st comment when i get a hold of my laptop cos there are sm tins i wish to mk clear to you
Hmmm, if the @Op was interested in accessing a state governor with genuine intention, he shouldn't have added Buhari to his post. If we are yet to see any meaningful achievement in Nasarawa, its because the PDP government that ruled the state for 12years pillage and plundered the state so you shouldn't expect a miracle from a governor of less than two years! Its my choice to make comparision with GEJ when his lickspittles try to smear others after all he is the leader of the party that nearly ruined the state.

Goddex:

Buhahahaha . . . sharing of assets was all he did as governor of North Eastern state?
The same time, for instance, his colleague the Late Brig U. J Esuene of old South-Eastern state now Cross River state & Akwa Ibom, was building one of the biggest stadia in the the country that uptil now host Super Eagles international matches. Esuene also built a brewery of international standard, establish a college of education and a University that has now metamophosed to UNIUYO among others. All of Buhari's legacies as governor was to share assets among states.

Where is Berem and all other Buhari's asss lickers, can you point to a school, Company or any other major project established by Buhari as governor in the old North Eastern state (now Bauchi, Adamawa, Taraba and Borno states?
The same Esuene that was dismissed by Murtala Mohammed for illegally enriching himself. Esuene was governor from 1967 to 1975 while Buhari was governor between August 1975- March 1976. Another attempt at smearing Buhari in futility! Guy get your facts right!
Politics › Re: Nigeria 'Fastest Growing Economy On Earth From 2011 To 2050' - New Forecast. by takedat(m):
Rossikk: A jobless riff raff like you describing PriceWaterhouse Coopers research as ''trash'' - merely a sign of your illiteracy and bush profile. At least an educated person would try to summon some facts to contest their findings. But no, all you can say is ''trash'' because you have cotton wool where your brain ought to be.

The same ''failed'' political class that doubled your power supply in the last two years? What have you achieved in your life in the last two years that is remotely comparable?

Power output increase leads to increased economic activity and output, reduced costs for industry, higher employment rates, reduced poverty rates, and a higher living standard which leads to greater social stability etc etc. I'd say it certainly helps.

YAWN. Show us the stats to prove that there is no positive movement in these areas. Your mere claiming so proves nothing. I've seen stats that show inflation rate stabilizing. Infrastructure is improving BY THE MINUTE across the country. Many federal roads are being rehabilitated. The railways are back on stream. Many states are investing massively in urban renewal and basic infrastructure. Power is improving in leaps and bounds. You need to travel round the country and OBSERVE developments instead of sitting in your negative little world assuming the worst.
A pipsqueak trying to find his lives fulfilment in an indeterminable forecast and delusions of progress. At what cost has the "failed" political class been able to double power supply? When other emerging market economies in the chart you posted are already on tens of thousand megawatts to driving their economy, we've spent $16billion for a little over 2000megawatts. Is it my fault that we've had failed Economic Development Plans including the unrealistic vision 20-2020 or that of the failed ruling class?

So CBN has been able to stabilise inflation rate? CBN with its counter productive policy of hiking MPR to cut inflation? CBN with an MPR rate of over 12% which makes business in Nigeria uncompetitive and without growth?

Are the infrastructures you claim are improving commensurate with the amount voted for them? You keep deceiving yourself with rehabilitation of federal roads that takes years of completion and billions of naira siphoned and a recently resuscitated locomotive trains and railtracks.

A country with a debt profile that might take 70years to pay back, not to talk of more plans for borrowing in the offing with little or nothing to show for it. A country where over 70% of its budget goes to recurrent expenditure. A country that finds it difficult to have a 70% performance in its annual budget

Or the problems of casualisation of workforce in the private sector, mass retrenchment, SME's inability to secure loans, miserable minimum wages, unemployable youths etc

Corruption, poor quality of leadership in the three tiers of government, terse socio-political environment and lack of political will to drive the needed reforms are the reasons why I am apprehensive over this forecast.

On a lighter note, I pray this "miracle" forecast comes true!

Goddex: Al-Makura
has been a very big dissappointment. Feelers across Nasarawa are that
he would lose reelection come 2015.

My dear, propaganda is what ACN & CPC are using to hoodwink gullible
Nigerians.

ACN has been ruling Lagos for 14yrs and if not for Fashola's first term,
Tinubu's tenure was a disaster.

Buhari was governor of then North Eastern state. In the interview with
Sun Newspaper he was asked what his achievement were and he replied that he helped shared assets when the state finally split into three.
So you base your judgement on "feelers"? If we should go by what people feel then GEJ will lose the next election cos he has been a big disappointment to many.

Rossikk: Liars like you will never know peace. You obviously cannot present a reasoned rebuttal hence your recourse to lies about what I supposedly said. And I'm not the one 'forecasting' anything. I'm just educating you on what the experts have researched.

And ''the reality'' says power supply has doubled in the last two years among other notable improvements.
Dumb kid wants a reasoned rebuttal on the trash he posted. Even if I accept that there is a slight improvement in power supply, if we keep having this failed political class plus a complicated socio-political environment, are we sure there is going to be a Nigeria in the nearest future or you assume that improvement in power supply is all we need to stay as one? A country that has not been able to get its fiscal and monetary policies to reduce inflation and unemployment, having high interest rates, massive infrastructural deficit, insecurity and a system that promotes the culture of impunity has a bleak future.

Politics › Re: What Has Buhari And His CPC Been Doing In Nasarawa State? by takedat(m):
Guess the governor is trying to clean up the mess and bad governance PDP created in the state for 12years. The ex-governor of the state Adamu Abdullahi who later became the secretary of PDP's BOT is currently facing multiple graft charges having embezzled billions of naira from the state coffers so there is paucity of funds for the current governor. Its laughable that a supporter of the party responsible for the colossal mismanagement of public funds in the past 13years seeks accountability from a governor of less than two years.

taharqa: VERY GOOD QUESTION @Verysincere9jerian. THANK YOU very mush grin

Oya, let the resident HYPOCRITES come and answer the simple and harmless question... At least if GEJ is expected to have solved ALL the problems of Nigeria in a little over 2 years, then Nassarawa the ONLY state controlled by CPC should have no problem showing us just a few of what they have been able to do in 2 years (only one state NA, piece of cake really).

*grabs popcorn, balances on the Sofa, waiting.... * grin grin grin grin grin grin
Bros I'll excuse you cos of the mutual respect we share. I do welcome probity and accountability but it smacks of hypocrisy to seek accountability from others when your house is not in order. When it becomes evident you are an attention seeker with the aim of scoring cheap political points in the case of @Sincere9gerian who open threads on Okorocha, Fashola and this without any of the PDP failed governments, then such is not to be taken serious.

Sincere 9gerian: El Rufai spoke to Daily Sun and it was widely reported. Daily Sun is a print news media organisation so you dont expect any video from them. But that of Buhari is both on print and video. Facts!
The article does not look like he was interviewed. its more of a lecture and if its truly so, there should be at least a video footage to make your claims credible. Didn't Abati lied on Buhari before pleading for settlement when the truth was brought to the open? Omokri and his goons are masters at smearing others for a living! I'll give you a benefit of doubt if you can extract this article from Daily Sun's site.

As at the time of Funsho's death, Sekibo was transport minister while George chaired NPA. Either one of the two could have been responsible but because PDP hides and protects it killer squad such as Omisore and co, it was swept under the carpet!

Sincere 9gerian: Show us a direct quote (from GEJ's mouth) not hearsay or speculations. That of El Rufai and Buhari were direct quotes (from their mouth) with video evidence in the case of Buhari.
Post a video evidence where El-Rufai said Buhari was not electable and not "a purported to have said" article sponsored by Omokri. If you didn't have comprehension problem, you will know that there is a difference between "I May" and "I Will" in the case of Buhari's latest pronouncement. GEJ has been known to be a schemer and an hypocrite, the groups that claimed he promised to handover power in a confidential agreement with them couldn't have fabricated it.
Politics › Re: Mallam Nasir Elrufai's 2010 Advice To Buhari "You Are Expired, Go And Retire" by takedat(m):
Sincere 9gerian: It is very SHAMEFUL that persons who claim to have integrity cannot pass the SIMPLEST test of integrity- which is to stand by the words of their mouth.

Buhari who said he will not contest elections again is now gearing up for another electoral contest. Buhari said he will not challenge the 2011 presidential election results in court but we later saw him in court.

El Rufai made all the comments above but is presently the number one supporter of Buhari for president.

If these persons claiming to be upright and to have integrity cannot pass the simplest integrity test, then how can they pass bigger integrity test of presiding over sharing of hundreds of billions of naira in Aso Rock?

Some mischief makers claim GEJ said he would not re-contest in 2015. I challenge them to give us direct quote or video where GEJ said such. I'v searched and searched and nothing of such exist, except in the figment of some persons imagination

Below is a quote from one of the harshest critics of GEJ during an interview:

"I supported IBB because I felt he was a better candidate, but when he lost, I was duty bound as a party-man to support Jonathan.

But then, before supporting him, I wanted to take something to my people who were agitating for a northern president.
That is the fact because, after the death of Umaru (Yar-Adua), our people felt that the presidency should remain in the north to compensate for the death of Umaru. I was one of those who believed in that arrangement too.

But we have a constitution in the party which has been jettisoned by the president because his coming in altered the constitution. He has redefined zoning. So, once he picked the ticket, I had no alternative than to support him, within my limits because I knew my people were not in support.

.....So, in order to take something to our people, I asked the president, “can we have his words that in 2015, he will not run?” To be fair to Jonathan, he did not answer the question. But I can remember some people went ahead and issued a communique that President Jonathan was going to do only one term"

Away with all the balderdash you wrote. You keep quoting from junk sites including that of a paid tweeter, trash talking tool in the name of O'Mockery's naijapundits and you expect us to take you serious. Only a brown-noser like you would deny Ohaneze N'digbo's claim that GEJ promised to run for a single term and some northern elites also said the same.
www.vanguardngr.com/2012/05/2015-outrage-over-jonathans-perceived-ambition/

While I have nothing against his running for another term in office but if Buhari lacks integrity so does GEJ.

Sincere 9gerian: Only a brain-washed fool would think that the PDP would kill the only person then that could effectively challenge the ACN and Tinubu. There are killers in PDP but late Funsho Williams was killed by ACN/Tinubu.

Check out these reports:

"Some Nigerians have reacted to this honour bestowed on this gentleman and strong politician in Lagos State, who many believed would have become the governor of the state come May 29, 2007.....Williams was said to have beat Tinubu at Alliance for Democracy (AD) primaries in 1998, but had to step down when Afenifere chieftains persuaded him. Also in 2003, Williams name was already posted on INEC's website as winner of governorship election that year, but a brewing trouble from Tinubu's circle made INEC, the electoral body up-turn the decision..."
http://allafrica.com/stories/200702270088.html

"Tinubu, who snatched Engr. Funsho Williams' mandate only for him (Williams) to be murdered in the cruelest"
http://www.thenigerianvoice.com/nvnews/47085/23/tinubu-is-sick-needs-help-ekiti-pdp.html
I thought you were going to quote a very reliable source but you preferred that of an Ekiti PDP who has a certified killer in the name of Ayo Fayose in its midst. OBJ was desperate to secure Lagos for PDP and in any event that an opposition member was guilty of complicity in the murder of Williams, OBJ would have made sure such person was brought to book. What have you to say about the deaths of Bola Ige, harry marshall to mention a few?
