Politics › Re: How PDP Can Win Lagos In 2015 by takedat(m): 10:50pm On Jan 02, 2013
alj harem: I am not advocating for other states to have PDP but Lagos YES. I am not one of those paid agents, tribal bigots or just a sheep following the flow of the herd. I am a true Lagosian and would not use Party or any other sentiment to ruin Lagos.

Now ACN aka Tinubu is ruining Lagos and you know it unless you are one of those that is just obsessed with ACN propagandas.

In this life there is time for everything, I voted for Fashola even though I do not like ACN. Some of us see the bigger picture. Even Tinubu and Fashola were not and are not still in good terms. WHY YOU ASK ? because tinubu wants to keep stealing and acting like a God-father anf Fashola is a true democratic good person that thinks of the people he leads first before any stu.pid Tinubu or party. That is what a leader is meant to be doing, THAT IS WHAT WE NEED IN LAGOS.

I could careless of other states outside because they have their leaders accountable. The federal power needs to be changed as well of which I have always advocated for. I want PDP to lose 2015 in Nigeria but does not stop my impending passion for my home state.

How can tinubu own more than 50 % of Lagos wealth and we call in democrazy. All the lands in Lekki is owned by Tinubu and using Lagos funds meant for the "common man" he beautified HIS PERSONAL PROPERTY not Lagos. Who is fooling who ?

All the crap you all just type on NL, it best to just watch at times because you do not realise how angry Lagosian are with Tinubu and ACN.
If tinubu who belongs to an opposition party is responsible for plundering Lagos funds and he is not being prosecuted by PDP led FG, how do you expect that same party to prosecute a thieving member supposedly if PDP wins Lagos? It means the PDP governor will be at liberty to loot the entire resources.
What has PDP done in its capacity at the Federal level that is beneficial to Lagosians to deserve their sympathy? What has PDP done differently in most states where it is governing that Lagosians will be yearning for such leadership? Do you mean to say that all the egg heads in Lagos belong to PDP and there is a dearth of good hands in the opposition parties? Are PDP members less corrupt than Tinubu?
Lagos is the pacesetter, it will be foolish of Lagosians to regress instead of progressing cos for every flaw that ACN can be ascribed with, you have more in PDP. Lagosians should look outside of both parties or pick the lesser evil and stop championing a lost cause!

alj harem: You cannot be serious. Yes indeed Nigerians will never learn their lessons. Making a state a one party state is would spell disaster to any state, country or society. Go read history of Nigeria or even general history.
What do you mean by making a state a one party state? PDP governs 23 states of the federation while the other parties share the remaining 13 states, would you prefer that the other 13 states go the way of PDP? What you are proposing is an expansionist agenda. Why are you not complaining of PDP being the ruling party in the federal level since the advent of the 4th Republic? What we have now is a fair distribution except you'd like to turn Nigeria into a one party state, ACN may lose Lagos but it mustn't be to PDP!
Politics › Re: How PDP Can Win Lagos In 2015 by takedat(m): 9:54pm On Jan 02, 2013
Nigerians will never learn their lesson. PDP has been saddled with the affairs of running the country for the past 13years with little or nothing to show for it. Its rather preposterous that the @Op will be yearning for the same party to the extent of suggesting to poach candidates from another party. ACN may not have risen to our expectation but there are other parties who are hungry to be given a shot at leadership to convince all, the only thing is to look for the right candidate amongst them.
Politics › Re: How PDP Can Win Lagos In 2015 by takedat(m):
When others are deeply thinking of how to get a purposeful and masses friendly government in Lagos, the Op is proposing a failed federal tested and master rogue party. PDP just like the ACN is surrounded with charlatans, mediocres and corrupt individuals so Why should we move from frying pan to fire and Why sell a bad product to purchase the worst?
Politics › Re: ACN Accuses FG Of Deceit And False Statistics by takedat(m): 10:45pm On Dec 30, 2012
Part of the role of the opposition is to expose the inadequacies of the ruling party, whether the opposition is a credible alternative is another thing. What ACN has done is to show to Nigerians how PDP is easily taking them for a ride and its left for the populace to challenge the ruling party and take up the gauntlet to demand for better governance and accountability from these set of looters called leaders!
Politics › Re: Iwuanyanwu, Others Refuse To Step-down For Anenih by takedat(m):
PDP and its promotion of gerontocracy and questionable characters. The Nigerian politician does not know when to quit but would prefer to be circled and recycled till eternity even when its obvious their physical condition, mental capacity and reasoning can no longer cope with the dynamics of this age.

Pray d Merger tin, in any form, works out; it rili wudn't even mata who wins d nx election...and hopefully, it wud help opposition parties engage in Constructive criticisms rather than Politics of Frustration. At d end of d day, we are our d more beta for it....
Bro, I have observed that the only way to get the best from PDP is having a strong opposition party, competion will be there and we'll do well to get rid of tribal/regional politics
Politics › Re: Why Dokubo-asari Is Fighting Jonathan —group by takedat(m):
I am less concerned if he has personal issues with GEJ but all he said was the truth. He has refused to be in bondage so that Truth won't be in prison unlike some hungry self serving groups who only seek relevance to have their stomach filled while those whom they claim to represent continue to live in perpetual bondage!
Politics › Re: Merger Talks Tear CPC Apart (pic) by takedat(m): 11:37am On Dec 30, 2012
It is only those who are satisfied with Nigeria becoming a One Party State through PDP that'll oppose or move to truncate the merger, though the characters in the political space are almost the same but having two or more stronger parties is healthy for our democracy. It is inconsequential if Galadima and co are dissatisfied With the merger as long as Buhari who single handedly controls the party is interested.

Politics › Re: Minister Releases Proof To Back Job Provision Claims by takedat(m):
I agree with some posters that the private sector should be the drivers of the economy, nonetheless government should also be held responsible and accountable for promises made. The minister wasn't coerced into making commitment on job creation based on the Sure- P, it was a measure of palliative to cushion the effect of the partial subsidy withdrawal. If she promised 10000 jobs and she is yet to meet the target, it is still part of incompetence and dereliction of duty on her part!
Politics › Re: Minister Releases Proof To Back Job Provision Claims by takedat(m):
This is the outcome of government not been transparent enough to run an open government. The minister failed to provide advertorials where the vacancies were advertised to job seekers and proof that interviews were conducted etc or Do you just select your kinsmen and party loyalists without the usual due process? This was the reason why government had to halt the immigration recruitment exercise. I believe the minister is being economical with the truth cos if PremiumTimes had not reported this we all wouldn't be aware of it!
Politics › Re: Naval Chopper Crash: Falana Accuses FG Of Failing To Commiserate With Four Other by takedat(m): 6:23am On Dec 29, 2012
This is why there is a growing pessimism in the mind of an average Nigerian if the country is worth any sacrifice to salvage it. The political elites are only interested in the massive looting of our resources and they expect undeserving accolades from us while they have utter disregard for the average man. The concept of equality before man and God is a myth in this over religious country where service to the fatherland is a waste of time. May God grant the families of the other four the fortitude to bear their loss!

I have not used any swear words and I do not belong to any political party! You failed to watch the vulgarity in your post by addressing people as street urchins. thelastPope: Yeah right. He didn't tax the store owner. Lol! LASG that taxes even bread sellers and recharge card vendors. Spare us the lecture. The shop was not concealed. It was a mega fireworks store. If the government missed that store, then they are incompetent. You are indicting them more.
Preach on since you've turned into an overnight crusader. I am not against criticising Fashola, I also have my misgivings towards him but your antics to score cheap political points by trying to win support using arguments based on emotion rather than reason is quite amazing.
Politics › Re: Aturu Slams Fashola On Lagos Fire Comment by takedat(m): 11:58pm On Dec 28, 2012
thelastPope: This is called escapist logic. When it fails, it isn't my fault, when it succeeds, I created it. A man that never takes responsibility is not a real man. When the state government agencies were collecting taxes from the firecracker store owner, did they not see that the store was dangerously located? What is the job of state ministry of trade and commerce or its equivalent? Now you want to throw away the baby and the bath water. Go check out all the eateries along Allen avenue and see how dirty their environment is. No sanitary inspectors to enforce sanitary laws but the LIRS are always on time to collect the taxes. Please spare us the lamentation. Take responsibility and stop whinning. When it is time to chase out students in LASU or dismantle a peaceful protest in Lekki, Fashola suddenly has powers to control the police force.
.
Double Dealing Doughnuts!
Guy stick to the topic of discussion and stop aiming to score cheap political point. Your point is on mere assumption that the state government did tax the fireworks dealer, if you are quite familiar with Lagos Island and how residential buildings are being converted to storage facilities, you will know that it is quite easy to conceal contraband goods. It is not in the purview of the state Government to ban the sale of fireworks, it is entirely that of the FG to stop its importation.
Fashola only lamented on how poorly structured the buildings are, contrary to the town planning laws of Lagos state.
Politics › Re: Aturu Slams Fashola On Lagos Fire Comment by takedat(m):
Aturu is a rabble rouser. What has Fashola's complaint on buildings in Lagos Island not carefully planned and its congestion got to do with Aturu's lamentation on fire crackers? If buildings in Lagos Island had followed the normal town planning laws and building code, some houses would have been saved during the explosion and if govt decides to embark on a demolition exercise it is the same activists that will complain that the government does not favour the masses. Fashola has no powers to ban fireworks, he has no control over our borders and ports.

Politics › Re: PRESIDENCY 2015: How Buhari, Govs Plan To Stop Jonathan! by takedat(m):
Merger or not, gang up or not, I am fully in support of any move to strengthen the opposition parties, weakening tribal or regional politics and creating an alternative. Not until we have an opposition party with almost the same strength as PDP, PDP will not live up to its responsibility as the ruling party. Nigerians should encourage this merger cos PDP's aim is to turn Nigeria into a one party state with its expansionist agenda through the looting of our resources!

Politics › Re: After Approoving 161billion 4 Fuel 4 Festive;pls. Where Is The Fuel? by takedat(m):
thelastPope: When they tell some of you to go to school, you will refuse. How can the money approved 2 weeks ago be for FG to buy fuel for the Christmas season. Do you think the fuel is refined at Oshodi? Do you know how long it takes to place order for fuel and have it delivered? Or you think fuel importers normally import and store fuel somewhere waiting for FG to go and negotiate with NASS to release the money?
.
The Money is additional money to settle subsidy not to import fuel for christmas, 2 weeks to christmas. Use your head.
You are as hopeless as this government who lies without an iota of shame. If you want to be the government's spin doctor on NL, try to be a good one and not a dummy. The president requested for additional N161billion needed to settle accumulated fuel subsidy arrears and to maintain "a steady supply of petroleum products, especially in the run up to the festive season". Isn't it unfortunate that after the spurious passage of the supplementary budget by the NA we are still witnessing queues, scarcity and hike in prices?

This is no cheering news cos its another opportunity for PDP chieftains, governors and his well wishers to do a fund raiser or allocate public fund to build a more befitting "fire proof" house for him.

When will this Reno O' Mockery of Naijapundit versus El Rufai tussle end? Didn't know NaijaPundit is now into "investigative journalism"? This is just like saying NTA or FRCN investigating allegations made against GEJ's government, surely they'll come out to denounce the allegations. If El Rufai is truly lying then God will judge him accordingly and if it is true, Azazi's family should bury him with the airplane. lol
