Has anyone bothered to find out why she sleeps in class? It could be a medical condition such as sleep apnea where one thinks that they have slept for 7 hours, whereas the actual quality sleep period may be less than 2 hours, hence feeling sleepy during the day. |

Allstrasse:I think we are saying similar things. We both agree that the bank needs to hire people to do ATM cash management at weekends. If ATM cash management is part of his daily job during the week, then that is okay, but he should not be called up by a colleague at weekend to come and top up ATM. Someone misinterpreted his word "useless" to mean that he was calling customers useless. I only tried to clarify that he was calling the superiors or colleagues who phone him at weekends "useless" and not customers. |
Tellemall:I don't think the "useless" people meant customers. It would be a colleague/Superior (bank staff) that would be calling you during the weekend. They should hire people on standby at weekends for such and pay them whether or not they are called to top up ATM |
This kind of control doesn't start in the workplace in Nigeria. It starts from School. Generally In schools or classes in western countries, when classes are over or students hear the bell, they pack their bags and begin to leave straight away while the teacher is still talking or rounding up. In Nigeria, you dare not get up or leave while a teacher is still talking. |
Nice. Hopefully, I will be starting a HSK beginner course in one of the Confucius institutes before the end of this year. |
I'm currently taking Spanish and German classes. Nearly at the highest level in Spanish but in elementary (past beginner) class in German. Starting another language before the end of the year after signing off from Spanish! ![]() |
They said "as a senator representing Offa constituency in the National Assembly, discuss....". Well, I will reply that as I'm not a senator, i cannot discuss! ![]() |
Things that I can think of but may never have applied to you. - Challenge someone at work for unethical behaviour or something they did wrong - Had to take a decision or choose between two or more competing options regarding work or Education - Appraise / provide feedback on a non-performing employee |
Why do they always display the minor near the accused? It is traumatic for the minors and they should never be brought close to accused. |
It is not I who will tell you to carry fresh pants in your bag whenever you go out ![]() |

When are we going to grow up and stop all these waste of resources and time commissioning projects that are not worth making news? Let me know when they are going to commission projects like refineries, new lengthy railway lines, etc |
I only saw the VIP wing of Hospital. Is that what was commissioned? Where is the section for the "common man"? |
See Circular telling the students to vacate campus same day? That's crazy. Did they not pay for the hostel accommodation and don't they have rights to stay in the rooms? |
Whogoblog:Ha! Its not "Long Tennis", but "Lawn Tennis" |
mondob2k:Rest assured is like saying Stay assured...Relax or do not worry. Saying "Be rest assured" would be like saying "Be stay assured". |
I bet if you total many Government universities electrical budget, the amount will be no where near this. Nearly $12M for electrical maintenance. I don't think even the white house budgets anything near this for electrical maintenance. |
nextstep:Well said! |
Well, things have changed in 4 months. Since that interview, there has been fuel scarcity, escalated herdsmen crisis, more poverty, talks of 2019, .....etc ![]() |
Starmish:You might want to look at this link below, but you would need gas and temperature control. Here in the UK, most Supermarkets use this technology, hence perishable foods are mostly available all year round irrespective of season. http://maerskstories.maersk.com/post/25566204059/putting-bananas-to-sleep |
I usually preserve them for up to 6 weeks. I don't think I have stored them for up to 2 months in the past. Most of them get used up even before 6 weeks. I think you can store them for much longer than 2 months, however, it may not be as good as one stored for only a few weeks. The person I learned this from lives on a small Island a bit far away from the nearest city and so difficult to replenish stock. She probably stores them for much longer. |
This is what an Ex Permanent secretary in the ministry of POWER is telling us? Is that what is important to him? Let him tell us his achievements in Power first before he informs us of the number of seats or sitting capacity of someone else's sitting room. |
I don't see how it is the duty of a president to approve a TV licence. We haven't yet gotten our priorities right. Very sad. |
According to the video, they said that the man sent some people to go and kill the other guy's wife. So they didn't see him personally killing the wife and he is being accused? |
Sunnycliff:As far as I have known, there has never been any hay days for our sports men and women in Nigeria. Sports has always been a neglected area and poorly renumerated. I vaguely remember him and its a pity about his situation. That's why many sports men and women relocate or take on other nationalities if given the opportunity. Here in the UK, national sportsmen and women are funded mostly by National Lottery money. Otherwise, many of them will not be able to fund their training or enter into competitions and would need private sponsors. Its mainly sports with seasonal leagues that attract large spectators, make money and pay well. |
Here is a scenario: On a BA flight in economy, they prepare 50 dishes of Rice & Beef and another 50 of Mashed Potato & Duck. Which of these two do you think Nigerians will go for? The beef dish of course! What happens when beef is finished? Wahala starts! Why on earth can't they try to understand their passengers general meal preference and do a bit more to accommodate it by making more Beef dishes for example. They would likely not serve Beef on a flight to New Delhi or serve Pork sausage on a flight to Doha or even to Abuja. It is likely that their crew do not indicate such meal preferences to their kitchen, hence they don't try to adjust. Or perhaps when the crew report this preference, the kitchen simply ignore them except its religious reasons. |
