. The National Assembly really working for their own pocket. Be joking with the national security of the nation. Why not make use of Veto power on actualizing state police? Why another para military outfit which will be under FG control. Money truly does all things. 18 Likes 3 Shares |

abiodunalasa: Military relationship with countries tend to dictate alot of things which are How other countries will treat you. Your gain / benefit ( aides) etc Your country's economy (sanctions) etc. If I'm to be the Nigerian president, I'm sure I'll most likely double as the defense minister too. 2 Likes |

abiodunalasa: They don't trust a more capable military and the most populated nation in the world so why us? IMO, all these shiits about French / American military presence in west Africa means nothing. They're of no threat to us for now and all we have to do is to develop our own military. Equip our military to the best possible best. China just increased it's defence budget by sweet 8% . What's the most populous Black nation doing? 3 Likes |

nemesis4u: On this UGV, I have a guy working with me. His R& is on UGV but the guy is trying to make use of artificial intelligence in the detection of IED. Here is how it is. He's trying to make the UGV a technological demonstrator in which military vehicles can identify IED before stepping on them. I dint know much about the research but the little information I have about it is that he's trying to make use of ground penetrating radar systems to filter temperature and ground pattern using artificial intelligence to detect an IED few meters away. 1 Like |

ibotic: It's not about being a copycat. That's how nations protect their president. That has been one of the duty of the Nigerian airforce since. The Nigerian Airforce also fly the vehicles in the Chief of Air Staff convoy. Nigeria also airlift military vehicles too. E.G During the Gambia crisis. 1 Like

nemesis4u: So what's the Americans doing there when they can't provide air support for their own guys? I haven't heard of a fatal ambush on French Forces in Africa. They know how to play their game well while the Americans are trying to send a carrier to the Vietnam as a signal to China. |

nemesis4u: A disturbing new video released by ISIS shows thedramatic militant ambush in Niger last October that left four US special forces soldiers dead. Staff Sgt. Bryan Black, Staff Sgt. Jeremiah Johnson, Sgt. La David Johnson and Staff Sgt. Dustin Wright were killed as they returned from a low-risk patrol in Tongo Tongo with 30 Nigerian and up to 11 American soldiers,CBS News reported. The more than nine-minute video was taken with a helmet camera worn by Johnson, according to the Daily Mail, which viewed the video. It was released by ISIS Sunday. The graphic footage begins with the Green Berets trying to take cover behind an SUV as ISIS militants surround them. [i]The soldiers fire colored smoke grenades in hopes of alerting friendly aircraft overhead before running for cover – but it’d be another two hours before French aircraft would arrive.] One of the soldiers is struck by a bullet and dragged by another behind the SUV. At one point, Johnson goes down screaming as armed ISIS fighters come into view. One last shot apparently fired at point-blank range then fills the screen. The camera cuts off. The video also shows still photos of the bodies of the slain American soldiers and evidence that their bodies were mutilated, the Mail reported. The Pentagon is expected to release findings from its investigation into the Niger attack later this week, CBS said. It has not yet commented on the new video. President Trump sparked outrage after telling Johnson’s widow that the Green Beret “knew what he signed up for … but when it happens, it hurts anyway.” |

Henry240: looks like a tactical gear they had on with a radio pack. Seems their vehicle got disabled. Plus, it was an open field and the guys had limited cover. The war here in Africa is different when compared with the middle east. Nothing stops them from leaving the area with the troops from Niger and call in air strike on the terrorist position. If they had to fight, they'll exhaust their ammo as I'm sure only a large fighting force can inflict such damage. |

Who has seen the video of the US green Berets being killed in Niger? Their video in action against the terrorist. ISIS released videos from the Green berets officers Cam. Truly the war here in Africa is different from Syria, Afghanistan or Iraq. I wonder how it's going to be if the terrorist here have weapons possessed by the ones in the middle east. With what I saw in that video, I'm sure if there was presence of foreign SF in Nigeria, they would be having much casualties too. RIP to the heroes. |
