T hat is one of the things i have been thinking , but is it repairable?
As at last year.

https://m.guardian.ng/news/navy-needs-250m-to-refit-nns-aradu/

I once read it somewhere where the CNS discussed well about the refitting.

He said the fire control radar and onboard systems and others will be changed. Meaning missiles too will change. IMO, a new ship on NNS Aradu hull and superstructure.

GERMANY donates Five Gunboats to Nigeria
also Donates MTU Engine training
Henry please forgive me I know you are busy , perhaps you can get some pictures?
The MTU Engine training is a pleasant surprise as a lot of our Ships including the two most recent NN UNITY& CENTENARY are MTU Engines I believe ( Someone correct me if I am wrong).

NNS ARADU is probably coming back to life. It uses 2 MTU 20V 956 TM92 diesels.

That vehicle on the left. I have seen such lagos few weeks ago.

Two moving together and fully armored. I guess NIA OR DSS. One of the vehicle got hit by a vehicle on island close to to Bonny cantonment. The guys inside were on suit, Black specs.

Why are intelligence fond of such vehicles?. Including Chevrolet something.

WARNING: Rant coming on

Looks like I might have another 3-month deployment in the DRC, when 5SAI rotates out in April. Fine.
And here comes the rant: if the UN won't pay for Rooivalk and our troops will be left at the mercy of air cover provided by ineffectual Hinds -the UN itself admits the Hind's shortcomings - then we should completely pull out. Everything; the 5 Oryx they want to retain and the Battalion group assigned to the FIB. After Bangui, politicians gave assurances that never again shall our troops deploy without effective air support.
The Brazilians forced the UN to accept Super Tucanos and BlackHawks for their coming deployment to CAR. The Dutch, Belgians and Germans refused to paint their choppers UN white in Mali.

Hell, personally I won't be affected by the decision to withdraw the Rooivalk. But how do I sit in Goma planning missions when I know at best 1 Hind will be available and only in daylight hours!

RANT OVER.

Why not fund the operational costs of the Rooivalk yourself?

Back then in the university I was told the roles of a country's armed force (nigerian military) entrenched in her constitution. The defence of the territorial integrity and other core interests of the nation . But today the reserve is the case, inside the Nigeria military you will see junkie rapist, a drunk and drugs abuse. What is the faith of a common man in the street? And how would nigeria come out of her mess, yes, I know beyond every perilous time there is always a great future . But the govt and her citizens are not making any effort to put the country in the right shape before international communities.

Whoever told you then didn't tell you it includes maintaining public order and public safety......

Go through the Nigerian constitution again.

(3)    In this section, "operational use of the Armed Forces" includes the operational use of the Armed Forces in Nigeria for the purpose of maintaining and securing public safety and public order.

If that's an asat then I don't know what an optical telescope looks like

And if that centre is determined by agencies to contain asat weapon systems then it is a God sent excuse for the indians to test their asat systems , whose building blocks r ready, only political go ahead is needed to do the tests most probably a electronic test unlike other nations , creating debris and creating hazards for satellites of other nations.

This act if true is like shooting ones own foot.

Slides from chief of drdo presentation in 2010 I think.

Anyways publicly it was declared a week ago work has started on the HPW for use against strategic targets due for completion 2022 , in the slide one can see the reference to HPW.

Indian offensive asat capability will comprise of
1.kinetic kill component ( satellite interceptor)
2.co orbital asat ( carrier satellite with multiple kill vehicles)
3.laser based asat
4.HPW based asat
5.space mining (SSLV launched Pico, micro, nano sats)
6.soft kill ECM

Anyways Asat1000 interceptor has been named as Ekalavya

Also mire than half of the system's shown in the presentation has been realised .

It's actually an astronomical telescope. I got that same post from an Indian page naming it Chinese ASAT.

Hence why most countries require pilots to hold a degree in aerospace related courses before CPL now.

Some things would have been detected before the flight. Just look at the PA :you don't know the source? Man are you serious? I hope you know how to read your instruments and not just flying?

African Elephant is on the list of endangered animals, but, Nigerian government don't seen to care. In a saner clime like Kenya, this animal would be captured and taken to a wild life conservation to live out it's days in peace. Killing of an elephant should attract a huge fine and a jail sentence.

The Nigerian park rangers are protecting this endangered species. You can't protect endangered species at a 100% rate. Even South Africa and Kenya has issues with rhino poachers.

Government should look for this guy and prosecute him.

This is exactly how ajaokuta went under, let's leave the NATO rhetoric out of this.

Exactly. Corruption and sentiments is what killed Ajaokuta steel.

Now the original builder has been contracted to look at it. They said 40 out of the 43 plants are in still working but around $500M will be needed to modernize it.

Ajaokuta was killed the same way our refineries were killed. Corruption and useless actions.

Ajaokuta steel needs $500M to become operational. The house of representatives is already working on it. There has been repeated deliberation on it recently.

NATO is not the problem of Ajaokuta. Raising $500M is the problem. It's not a small amount and I'm sure you're not expecting the Chinese to fund it and then it's going to take the government over 10 years to get full control of it back when the Chinese is done making their money from it.

Ajaokuta Steel Project is located on 24,000 hectares of sprawling green-field land-mass. The Steel Plant itself is built on 800-hectares of land. That's some damn big steel plant sha.

We have other steel plants in Nigeria but none has the operational capability of Ajaokuta.

Quick question: how on earth did we get the money to start that company at first? Like was Nigeria damn rich before? Someone please tell me.
