IS IT TRUE CHACAL HAS BEEN BANNED?
WHY NOW?
came here everyday to read his comments, the man has true manchester blood flowing in his veins, please unban o,

vida is out but that shouldnt stop middlesborough, roma and arsenal taking in a total of 8-10 goals, i have a feeling roma might actually be the most generous again, their players are defeated even before they step on the pitch, they lack confidence to face red devils again even if we field reserves, we have beaten them up down right left italy england everywhere

i'm off to d usual

Hey I suggest English FA applies for the C of O of both The San Siro and the Stadio Olympico.
Whatcha all thunk
FA should ask for more than the C of O
its a shame that some ppl still think serie A is better than premiership
Arsnl dumped ac milan convincingly
liverpool beat inter on 2 legs
The English champions (Man-Utd) showed their class against Roma in Roma and we didnt heven hear a wisper of 'revenge',
i feel sorry for the italians

Even though the dividend is a far cry from the unprecendented 10 naira that was rumoured, i have to admit they beat my expectations, stilll pretty overvalued though.

@Temmie-There are so many magicians on Nairaland o. grin

I have both legs and hands into this one-Sterling/Ecobank.Its a huge gamble but we will know next month when they announce their merger or "unmerger".
Question is would u entrust your financial future to magician? tongue tongue
Dun worry those 2 banks will come good, i hope you have more ecobank though, there was some favourable gist abt them a few weeks ago

Salute to all the gurus in the House.

All, what's your take on STERLING BANK?

Is it good in the short to medium term?
Any hope that their merger talk with ECOBANk will succeed?
Their last year results are overdue now. Any idea(s) why this has not been released?
And when released, do you see the stock touching N16.00?
What other considerations will be necessary in making a buy decision?

Thanks in advance.

Sterling bank and Ecobank are good medium to long term.
The details of the merger should be out in April, only then will u know if they are good short term.
Without being rude, only a magician can answer that 16 naira question cool

why do u want to risk FirstAl at its current price?
You can have a look at Law union, its got good growth rate, extra 2.5 billion in cap funds, big in energy insurance, majority owned by skye bank, partner with royal sun alliance in the uk and they are doing a po this year and its nominal value is less than First Al that is still declaring losses. and with the bashing its been taking recently, it is becoming a "fundamental cico" hmmm 'fundamental cico', i'd like to patent that

anybody that did not do any cico in the last 3 months has clearly missed a great deal of loot as u are aware,
But having said that, qtr 2 and qtr3 can always have a bear surprise if u don adapt tactics quickly,
Abi when it is summer, wear light clothes and in winter keep warm, thats my modus operandi with NSE,

I dunno why people are expecting huge upward movements in dangote sugar even with the bonus, the market is currently filled with much better options, stocks will low nominal prices with good prospects, Your regular guy is making a killing doing cico off 5 naira stocks and after 2 weeks, he's made a killing so why buy dsr? huh huh huh
if u buying dangote above 40, what is your exit price?
heard some sharper folks are just returning their loot from first al, capoil, afroil, berger paints et al and these are stocks that all did well over 60%, heck, even ALL my insurance stocks have all performed and will continue to perform better than dsr,

There is something I don't really understand. Why did NAHCO go from a high of 70 to as low as twenty something.
they did a bonus issue
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by Temmie10(m): 12:37pm On Mar 15, 2008
@all

For japaul to pay one naira dividenf, their eps has to be more than 1 naira. Its currently nowhere near that so thats a pipe dream.
To do a bonus of 1 for 1 is technically possible but i would fear the future implications of such a wide split.

@Shigidi
are u seeing berger paints? remember u mentioned it way back, and the thing jus keeps surprising. whats your PAT estimate?, full year results shld be out in 2 months.
The only way the price of Unity Bank will shoot up is if they release a VERY BAD result, if their result happens to be IMPRESSIVE, their share price will nosedive to even N7 shocked That has been in the trend in the banking sector. Investors there are afraid of GOOD or IMPRESSIVE result tongue tongue tongue
Not exactly: Its just that there are so many sides to the story in the banking sector.

@all
I greet o. Sorry i have been missin in action for a while but i see that the house is in very capable hands and the gurus are in form.
Those considering these stockbroking pps, it would be good to consider it well o. If u were buying  bank or insurance shares, i am sure u would want to buy the cream of the crop so why buy into the pp of a stockbroking firm u have never even heard of before! You could easily have made at least 30% in the market itself in the last month and u have liquidity and control over your money

As per the market, its clear that this is overvaluation period so be careful, lock in profit on weird valuations, and when u ride the wave, u ride at your own risk but u know what they say, "the higher the risk, the higher the reward if u survive grin". the banks have been quiet relative to the rest of the market, expect them to remain so for a while as a lot of future earnings have been factored in already as well as the high nominal prices BUt they will definitely come good, uba, phb, oceanic, fcmb, skye still have potential to surprise. Insurance will continue to gyrate throughout the year, it is their year, pos and we'll see what they are really about going forward,  if u are on the right side of the gyration, u'll be all smiles but if u are not careful, it could be blood on the dancefloor for you.

don't have it sorry.

looks like wapco is coming dangerously close to its support level of around N60. lets see if it bounces off that. its now trading below its 10, 20,50,200 and 500day EMAs. other indicators pointing negative seriously too ie the rsi, macd and macd histogram.

if it bounces off its support it would be interesting. somethings gotta stop this free fall!
a 60-70 naira firm paying dividend of 1.2 naira, thats a disgraceful dividend yield of just over 1%, hence the haemorrhage. and its the 2nd year of paltry dividend policies

This breaking news:

SEC probes six firms over alleged shady deals
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has begun investigations into the activities of six companies over allegations of price manipulation and other sharp practices aimed at ripping-off investors. The Commission, in a statement on Thursday signed by Lanre Oloyi of its corporate affairs department, gave the names as African Petroleum Plc (AP); Big Treat Plc; Afroil Plc First Aluminum Plc; Capital Oil Plc; and IPWA Plc. SEC vowed to deal decisively with any operator found culpable of price manipulation or insider dealing. It reminded all operators that insider dealing was a criminal offence in the capital market and urged them to always operate within the confines of the rules to ensure transparency and integrity of the market.

Some of our favourite stocks here in Nairaland are affected. Trust my BT will weather the storm.

@Wanajo, K2, All

Not disagreeing with Napolean.
Just stressing the need to have inside track with private placements and not jump into just any ole one.

He certainly sounds convincing as a persn who really admires what we are doing here at Nairaland and wishes to help us along by advising that not all is as seems in stocks and shares.

What he says will be very useful to many.
It is certainly entertaining - like that Monsieur Rogue Trader currently out on bail and could be anywhere. Wonder where Monsieur is now.
