European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by tess1(m): 12:36pm On Jul 10, 2016
"Jose Mourinho wants to re-assign some of his first-team squad with new numbers – but he won’t force players to change. Mourinho would prefer squad numbers under 30 and that’s a problem for the players who made their breakthrough under Van Gaal. Stars like Marcus Rashford (no 39), Jesse Lingard (no 35), Matteo Darmian (no 36) Cameron Borthwick-Jackson (43), and Tim Fosu-Mensah (51), could all change. One exception, if he stays, could be Bastian Schweinsteiger who wore the 31 shirt at Bayern and was given the same no last season. Jose Mourinho's revolution has already earned him the nickname Mr Meticulous at their hi-tech Aon Training Complex. Just a week into his reign, Mourinho has made his mark at Carrington with a series of changes. The most important step has been the removal of the training-pitch cameras put by Van Gaal to track his stars during sessions. Footage from the cameras would occasionally be used in team meetings, which players eventually found tedious and a turn-off. Mourinho has ordered them taken away, insisting to staff that he doesn’t need cameras to tell him what his own eyes can see. The move has been instantly popular with the players, who have welcomed the new direction Mourinho is taking the first-team squad. Players, who have returned to training, have already noticed Mourinho is very much a players’ manager with an intuitive approach. A training ground source said: “The players have been bowled over by the manager already inside just a few days. The training ground feels alive again and there is a spring in everyone’s step. @carras16 was saying he wished he was 25 again and facing a few years playing for Mourinho. The place is absolutely buzzing. The previous manager was very thorough in his preparation and on the training ground but it all felt a little bit regimented." (Mirror)

I stated my terms you want to state my terms for me?

Was Valdes starting a world cup final? Was he nominated for Balon dor?

Neuer, Buffon, Kahn Cassilas were starting and winning stuffs for their teams
This was your initial statement. There's no need shifting.

In goalkeeping, its a shame to be beaten at your near post because thats where you are supposed to protect first. It doesnt make him a bad keeper it just makes him a keeper that has a long way to go to match an icon like Neuer.[/quote]This is worst than what De Gea did and it is more than SHAME

Whether starting or not starting, he has more than the cups your Neuer will ever dream of. For this reason, he's better than Neuer since in your own opinion trophy determines the greatness of a goalkeeper.

You said it's a shame to be beaten at a near post. Please, what is it for a keeper who allowed a ball to slip through his hands and his toros into the net like this?

Neuer is a world cup winner, He is a CL winner as a starter, He is a Balon Dor top 3 the highest position a keeper has ever been in the past 20yrs

If DDG achieve these he would retire and consider himself a success in his career
You never disappoints just like someone already said it that you'll soon start mentioning trophies he has won to justify the status you are giving him.

If that is the case, Victor Valdez was once the best goalkeeper in the world. After all, he too has won more than those trophies you mentioned. Meaning that Victor Valdez is also better than your Neuer.

Thank God you didn't bother responding to the fact that Neuer has conceded far worst goals in recent times than the one you are using to downgrade De Gea.

That's exactly what I responded to, not this your titles-mention which Victor Valdez have also won without even being Spain's number 1.

Neuer who has made far worst error in recent time will never be an icon to De Gea.

Good. Rooney must not play in midfield, confirmed.
The good thing i've seen in Mourinho's quotes about Rooney is that Rooney will never be played in the midfield which is good for the team. He'll only be played in the striking positions which simply means it is now or never for Rooney. If he doesn't deliver in that position, that's the end for him. Mourinho is not going to create a position for him in order to accomodate him. All the players are going to start on a clean slate. That's the more reason he said he prefer specialists.

One thing I like about his transfers is that he's identified our area of weakness and all his transfers are to address those areas which is on point. He's not also in a haste to sell players because I guess he must have seen that the team is thin.
That's a good and inspiring press conference.

Except u watched the match, or have seen the video/gif, i doubt Bailly would be able to handle Suarez or Ronaldo when he couldn't even keep Torres at bay. Yes Torres did more than that to Vidic. But at least Vidic was well known and a more composed defender. Vidic would ve been easily forgiven. Not one mumu defender wey just get power and no brain.

Anyways make we sha dey look as he go perform. I'll be more than happy to be proven wrong concerning the guy tho
Experienced defender can be forgiven when they make such mistakes while. young defenders are condemned when they make such on rare occasions. Defenders usually peak around 25yrs but you'll always see the potentials in them at the early age.

I reserve my comment about him till I see him play for us.

Guy, you are too quick to jump into conclusion. Torres did more than that to Vidic at his prime. Does that make vidic a disaster. More so, he's still 22. He'll make some mistakes but will later improve.

Though, I've not watched him play much. Haters said same when we signed De Gea when he made some costly mistakes in his first season. The same haters are now wishing Madrid comes for him now.

Why didn't they bring the gifs of where he tackled Suarez and Ronaldo?

I didnt know this because Xavi and Iniesta were on the bench in the 2006 final just not deemed good enough to start

And Iniesta you said was just coming back from 4 months injury played both legs vs Milan in the semi finals on April 18 and April 25, played the quarter final vs benfica on April 4 2006

Played the second round vs Chelsea in february 2006 and was an unused sub in the second round return leg played in March

This are the league games Iniesta played 4 months before the 2006 CL finals yet someone is telling us he had a torn ligament

Tess1, Tesiwaju ninu iro pipa

I am curious how you would spin your way out of this lie
That was a mix up. It was Xavi that i wanted to refer to as the player who had a torn ligament injury while Messi was missing because of an injury sustained in the Chelsea match. This, i had posted earlier in my post 3/4 days ago.

The fact remains that you said Xavi wasn`t good enough to start. Whereas, he was absent because he was injured.

This is a very laughable argument

A player missing due to injury isnt different from a player missing because he was benched?

What i typed is very clear, any key player barring injury wont get benched in a key game. If your own understanding is that it encompases injured players then too bad.

C. Ronaldo didnt play vs City in Etihad due to injury so your own interpretations is that he isnt good enough? What of a player suspended? He too isn't good enough

If that's your thought and interpretations then I cant help you
Why then did you say the bold when you knew Xavi was injured and Iniesta was just coming back after a four-month lay off due to a torn ligament?

Or you want to tell me that you didn't know this?

if Xavi and Iniesta were considered good enough by Rijkaard he would start them in the biggest game of his career. He didnt qualify for CL final with Bayern, why didnt Mourinho qualify for CL finals with Chelsea? Why didnt he qualify for CL finals with Madrid.

How is Xavi or Iniesta a rookie in 2006? Both were mature players but the coach did not consider them good enough
The issue is that according to your statement any player not used in any important match wasn't good enough. There shouldn't be anything like "if the team was fit they wouldn't start those rookies". It should have been that any player not started in any game isn't good enough for such game(s) according to your logic. So there shouldn't be that any player missed any game because he's not fit or injured. That's my point.

Whether it's a rookie that started or not is immaterial.

You are only dancing around. How does a final of a UCL team sheet represent the team that played throughout the season?

So many things may happen to prevent some players from appearing in the final of the UCL. Example was when Scholes and Keane didn`t play the final against Bayern in 99. Fletcher also missed 2009 UCL. With the way you reason, it simply means they were not good enough to be in the final.

As a matter of fact Messi played some UCL during that season and scored for Barca. He couldn`t play in the final because he wasn`t fully recovered from a torn harmstring he suffered against Chelsea. How does this translate to him not being good enough. Xavi was part of Rijkaard`s team but also missed due to injury. Iniesta came on in the second half and made the pass that led to assist for the equalizer.

These three players later form the bulk of players that did it for Pep.
